Darkness. Why do I remember this? This feeling, this feeling of wanting to run, but, I can't, I won't. Why?...

Leola's eyes opened, but the rest of her body wasn't responding. All she could see was the dark, the immense darkness that seemed to be smothering her. She took a gulp of air, and her head cleared.

"Hello?"

Her voice echoed into the darkness, and Leola had the sudden realisation that she was alone.

Alone. Why do I remember that? This feeling, this feeling of wanting comfort from another human, but I can't, I won't, why?

Leola's head spun, and her legs hurt. She realised that she was trapped. Leola began to breathe heavily, her claustrophobic nature began to surface, and she started to go into a blind panic, ludicrous thoughts ran through her head, of severed legs and suffocation.

Suffocation? I remember that. The feeling of a hand around my throat as a building started to creak, as the world began to spin and the loosening grip, until I was once again alone. Alone, like I always had been, the others ran from me, because I was the one on top. The strongest, because I was a fake, my life was worthless, so I was.. I was…

Leola was once again calm. Her focus was on survival. The past could wait. She surveyed her surroundings, she could see better now because her eyes had adjusted to the looming darkness that surrounded her. Her eyes glowed gold and fire appeared in her palm, she prayed the dust would not light, and the room was lit by the flickering flame in her hand. She slowly began to turn her head her and saw her that her left arm was stuck underneath a beam.

"Shit."

Gathering her composure, Leola started to move her right arm, and a sharp pain flooded through her wrist. She ignored it. Leola pushed at the beam, but the injury in her wrist was too severe, and her right hand dropped to the floor.

"Leola…."

That voice. No, that's impossible, I ran, and that means, they've caught me.

"W...What are you doing here?"

Suddenly, a figure appeared in front of her. It was hazy, and seemed to be shimmering. It spoke with a rasping sound, "Nice to see you again. You tried to hide, but now your presence is wanted at the council."

"No, please, let me go."

Leola knew her pleas were worthless, the figure was merely a reflection with one purpose.

To take her to her death.
