Wistful
He was always there, every time she looked it seemed, and yet he was never truly 'here'.
He would smile happily at her whenever they crossed paths, but he never really noticed her.
She gave him her friendship, gave him her advice, even gave him a flower, but he never understood.
She gazed at him wistfully as he rushed by, muttering to himself; in a little world of his own as usual and sighed deeply.
Merlin was kind, generous and everything Gwen had ever wanted in a man and yet she knew, deep down, that he would never be hers.
