"You're a sorcerer!" the young king shouted, heading towards Merlin purposefully, his eyes flashing with anger.

"Arthur, if I could just explain…"

"You're a traitor. An enemy of Camelot."

"No, Arthur - that's not true."

"All these years... all those lies."

"Arthur!" Merlin's tone changed slightly, his frustration starting to show.

"How could you do this to me?"

"To you?" Merlin scoffed. "What harm have I ever done you?"

Arthur paused. Confusion and wariness taking hold as he noted his friend's sudden confidence. "But..."

"Oh, but you have us sorcerers all worked out, don't you, Arthur? You know exactly what we are and how totally magic corrupts us."

The sorcerer moved forwards, one arm raised, his expression threatening and now it was Arthur's turn to back away, his expression fearful. "Merlin ..." He warned.

Then, with a flash of golden eyes, Merlin lifted the young king up in the air until he was hovering several inches from the ground. "Yes, Arthur?" he asked, a hint of humour showing in his eyes.

"Put- me- down-"

"Na! Don't fancy it," Merlin teased.

"You put me down right now or else ..." Arthur stopped as he saw the amused expression on Merlin's face; a sudden, uncomfortable realisation dawning.

"Yes?"

"You would make me beg?" the king asked. "You would ask for my surrender?"

Merlin shrugged. "A 'thank you' would suffice."
