Chapter 13:

After May left, Mrs. Weasley immediately called for Severus, who showed up in a matter of minutes. Snape stormed through the garden stopping in front of Molly and Arthur.

"What happened?" he demanded turning to stare at Harry, waiting for someone to answer him.

"She ran away. She kept saying she was afraid she was going to hurt any of us and she left." Ginny said.

"Not before she almost set everything on fire." Ron mumbled to George. Snape turned towards the pair with a biting stare that reminded George of potions and Ron of study hall in fourth year.

"She set something on fire?" Snape asked slowly turning to look at the large tree tipped over on the ground.

"Well she couldn't have gotten too far, she doesn't have a wand after all." Mrs. Weasley told Snape.

"Mrs. Weasley she ran away when she was 8 to New York, and then traveled to France, Greece and Italy before coming here. She's completely capable of getting far." Harry said turning to look at Mrs. Weasley, whose eyes widened when she realized that he was right.

"How will we find her then Severus?" Arthur asked, Snape sighed.

"I'll have to get her brother." Harry's head snapped up

"Are you sure Professor, she said she didn't want him to know about what's happened." Snape narrowed his eyes at him.

"Do you have a better plan Potter?" Harry shook his head. Snape nodded shortly before turning and walking away, his cloak bellowing out behind him.

Later in the afternoon Snape returned with Finnick, who looked like he could kill someone.

"What happened?" Finnick asked, his voice low from anger. The group shared a look for a brief moment before he snapped at them.

"What happened?!" Finnick yelled at them. "Where is my sister?!" He roared. Finnick turned to stare at Harry, when he did Harry saw that his eyes were glowing a piercing shade of ice blue.

"Finnick you need to calm down." Harry said calmly, holding out his hands.

"Calm down? My sister is missing and you want me to calm down?" Finnick's volume in his voice slowly started to get louder until the end of his sentence he was yelling in Harry's face.

"Yes." Harry replied shortly. Finnick's face began to turn purple with rage before he turned around and twisted his hand in an upward motion.

As he did the tree that May had previously set on fire, went soaring into the air and then was once again struck with lightning. Only this time the tree simply exploded into tiny pieces of bark that rained down on the people in the yard.

"Well I can see where she gets her temper from." George mumbled. Finnick stared at him with a dark look in his eye before he started to breathe in and out slowly to calm himself down.

"Tell me what happened to my sister." Finnick said softly after he calmed himself down. Harry sighed before beginning to tell him what happened. By the end of the story Finnick's eyes were a bright blue. He stared at them and then looked at Snape before he walked off farther into the field. Once he was out of eye sight, the group heard a loud explosion and saw smoke off in the distance.

"Maybe we shouldn't tell him about the book." Ginny whispered to everyone, who nodded their heads in agreement.

A few minutes later the explosions stopped and Finnick walked back into view of the others.

"If we're going to find her, I'll need to cast a locator spell. I'll need something of hers." Harry nodded his head and went back into the house to grab something for the spell.

Finnick stood by the door with his arms crossed across his chest with a brooding look on his face. Harry came down the stairs and handed him a necklace that was in her trunk. Finnick looked at the group and then to the entrance of the house, before shifting his eyes back to the door.

"Oh sure go on in." Ginny exclaimed once she realized that he was waiting for her permission to enter her family home. Finnick nodded his head in thanks before entering and sitting on the floor at the foot of the coffee table in the living room.

In a swift movement Finnick flipped both hands over, palms facing upward, causing an ice blue smoke to wrap around his hands. Once the smoke disappeared a small leather bound book was resting in the palm of his hands.

"What's that?" Harry asked hesitantly although he, as well as the others, knew it was his father's book of dark magic that May had left behind.

"I guess you could call it a family heirloom." Finnick said smirking slightly as he flipped through the pages of the book to find the spell.

"I'll need a map of the world." He told the others. Hermione nodded her head and transfigured a piece of paper into the map for him. Finnick began to circle the necklace around the map.

"You really think she's gotten that far?" Fred spoke up from the back of the group. Finnick looked up at him and frowned.

"You really don't know my sister if you think she didn't run as far away from here as possible." He said quietly still continuing to move the necklace around the map. When he came up with nothing he dropped the necklace.

"She's cloaking herself from me. Clever girl." He murmured "But not clever enough."

"Was Amelia wearing the necklace I got her for her birthday?" Harry nodded his head.

"She hasn't taken it off." Finnick grinned

"Good." He answered before going back to looking in the book. "Can one of you turn that map into a globe?" He asked still studying the book. Hermione nodded turning the map into a large spinning globe.

Finnick turned to look at his uncle who had, up until this point, stayed quite. "I'm going to need a few things." He said showing him the page of ingredients. Snape studied the page before leaving quickly.

"Can one of you get me two large pots? Preferably iron." Finnick asked one of the twins, George nodded and went into the kitchen to grab them. Finnick nodded his thanks and then took the pot out into the yard and began to scoop some tree bark into the pot as well as a few leaves.

He conjured a large vile and had Harry fill it water. Once he took the vile back he blew into it making it turn to fresh snow. He then conjured a black raven feather and sat the two items next to each other, He walked back over and sat on the floor next to the other pot and waited for Snape to return.

Once Snape returned Finnick set to work on the potion.

"This potion will be able to find her?" Snape asked Finnick once he was done adding all the materials he had brought back.

"The potion is only meant to get a rough location, luckily I've prepared for that. When I was younger, father taught me a way to create…a familiar, I suppose you could call it. Lyra will be able to find her once I finish the final part of the potion." Finnick informed him. Snape nodded his head and went off to inform Mr. and Mrs. Weasley of what was happening.

Finnick grabbed the knife he had been using, and once he cleaned it off, dipped the very tip of it into the boiling potion, letting it soak into the metal. He then walked over to the globe Hermione transfigured for him and spun it, he then sliced the tip of his index finger, letting his blood drip onto the spinning globe. Once the globe stopped spinning the group could see that Germany was the color of Finnick's blood and glowing.

Finnick sighed deeply. "I know where she is." He said softly before turning to his uncle.

"You'll have to take us there, I can't travel the way I normally do and not leave you all behind." Snape nodded his head.

"I'll have to get a port key ready. Where will we be traveling to?"

"Schwangau, Germany." He said shortly before going over to the pot with the ingredients to conjure his familiar. Finnick poured the fresh snow and added the raven feather to the pot, then added a few drops of his blood before he began to chant softly.

"Fola de mo chuid fola, Thoghairm mé tú. Tar chugam." The group looked on as he chanted over the pot in confusion.

"Awaken." He said firmly once he had finished the spell. The pot began to glow before tipping over and pouring a bright blue liquid onto the ground, which formed a large puddle that began to rise upward and take the shape of a girl. The others stood back and watched in awe as the blue liquid vanished and left behind a girl with long black hair and glowing blue eyes, who was wearing a long white dress with a grey cloak over it.

"Lyra." Finnick said softly. She looked up and pouted.

"Why has it taken you so long to summon me again?" Finnick rolled his eyes.

"Enough nonsense, we need to find Amelia." She looked up at him questionably. "She's run away again."

Lyra sighed and began to examine the dress and cloak.

"Again? She always was a curious little beastie, never staying in one place." She said sighing as she looked up at him. "Where did she run off too?"

"Germany." He said shortly. Lyra nodded her head and turned to look at the others.

"Well, well what do we have here?" She asked before turning to look at Finnick.

"Amelia's friends, they'll be coming with us." Finnick said before leaning down to whisper in her ear "So no funny business." Lyra pouted once more.

"That's hardly any fun." She said shortly smirking at the others.

Snape returned a few minutes later with the port key, as well as a few extra passengers.

"Who are they?" Finnick asked pointing at the two boys.

"Draco and Blaise, we're friends of May's and we aren't letting you go find her without us." Blaise said, staring at Finnick, who nodded his head in reluctant acceptance.

"Curiouser and curiouser." Lyra stated as she stared at the group of mortal friends her master's sister had made. The group stared at her as she stood next to Finnick.

"You're telling me." Finnick murmured to her out of the corner of his mouth. Snape cleared his throat and held out the port key. Everyone nodded their heads and placed their hands on the goblet.

They all felt a sharp tug on their navel before they were all pulled in forward only to land on a large pile of snow in Germany near the edge of a cliff. Finnick stood up letting out a large breath causing the snow to evaporate off his body. He clenched his hand at Lyra succeeding in making her shivering and chattering teeth stop.

"Thank you." she said softly. He smiled at her gently and nodded his head.

"Some castle." Blaise whistled, the others nodded their heads.

"Lyra, scout ahead and report back." Finnick said. "You know where to go?" She smirked and handed him her cloak. She turned and saluted the group before running and diving off the cliff.

"She's a shape shifter?" Draco asked. Finnick nodded his head, smirking as he watched her fly away.

"Now what?" Ron asked.

"We wait." Finnick answered back, leaning against a tree away from the others and watched the sky line for Lyra. The others took to filling in Draco and Blaise on what had happened.

"She's a Blackwell? All of them?" Finnick snapped his head over to the group and sneered.

"You have something to say?" Finnick said as he slowly walked over to the group, the snow melting around his feet and magic crackling around him.

"Who are they?" Hermione asked. Finnick turned to look at her slowly.

"The Blackwell family line is one of the oldest and most powerful pureblooded families there are. Their family tree can be traced back to the beginning of witchcraft itself. The Blackwell bloodline is one of the most powerful sources of dark magic... ever" Draco answered her.

"That can't be true." Fred said softly thinking of Amelia's bright innocent eyes. His memory then flashed back to her eyes glowing bright purple and the sadistic smirk that was on her face when she was questioning the intruder the other night.

"But you can't be a Blackwell. The bloodline was whipped out years ago." Blaise said looking at Finnick.

"Hidden, not eradicated." Lyra said coming up from behind Finnick and wrapped herself in her cloak once more.

"The line would have been completely eradicated, if it weren't for my father surviving and meeting my mother. My father was a child when the Blackwell line was under attack, his father and mother moved him to a safe house in Greece where he grew up until he was discovered. My father was on the run for most of his life, then he met my mother and had me and my sisters. If it hadn't had been for a 'happy accident' then my father would have been the last in the Blackwell family line." Finnick informed them all. The others were silent taking in the new information, Finnick took the opportunity and turned to Lyra.

"Tell me."

"Well she was there, but I picked up on some strange activity when I flew over, it was strong." Finnick nodded his head.

"Well it's now or never." Harry said as he shared a look with Finnick. He nodded his head and began walking towards the castle.

"Why can't we just apperate there?" Blaise asked while they walked along the path that Finnick was melting in the ice for them.

"Because the castle is protected against magic... well your kind of magic anyways." Finnick replied as he continued walking up the hill to the castle. "When we get to the doors just stay behind me." the group gave each other a worried glance before continuing to follow Finnick hesitantly

When the group got to the front door, Finnick held his arm out to stop them from moving any farther. Within a few minutes a guard in full armor with a sword came out of the wall and stood in front of the door.

"Intruder, identify yourself." the deep voice of the stone guard demanded, startling the others in the group.

"Finnick Aegaeon Blackwell first born heir and only son to Merrick and Marina Blackwell, Familiar Lyra, Godfather Severus Snape...and guests." Finnick said the last part with a small roll of his eyes. The guard looked at him before bowing his head and disappearing back into the stone wall.

"Fancy security." Blaise said with a small scoff. Finnick gave him a glare from the corner of his eye, silencing him. After walking for a few moments a women and a man came walking down the hallway with sheets laughing only to stop in their tracks when they saw him.

"Young master!" they both exclaimed, Finnick smiled at them warmly.

"Hello, have you seen my sister?" the two people looked at each other before smiling.

"I believe she said something about wondering about the castle young master." The women told him.

"If it's not too much trouble could you make up a few of the beds for my sister, her friends and I?" Finnick asked, the women nodded her head and told him that it would be no problem before she and the man bowed and continued down the hall.

The female maid paused and turned around. "Young Master, you may try looking closer towards the west wing." she told him with a small smile before continuing down the hallway.

Finnick nodded his head towards the others, motioning them to follow him though the house. The deeper the group got in the castle, the closer they got to the west wing, the more nervous the group became.

"Why does this castle have to be so damn big, why is it so scary looking?" Ron whispered to Harry, who chuckled, shaking his head lightly. Hermione and Ginny rolled their eyes before going back to looking at the surroundings of the castle.

"Lyra, what kind of activity did you sense when you flew over?" She looked over at him.

"I couldn't tell if it was magical, but it felt strong. It felt like an extremely powerful aura surrounding the castle as well as the lake."

Finnick whipped his head down to look at her, his cheeks puffing up in anger. "Can you feel it now?" she nodded her head. Finnick huffed angrily before walking ahead of her. Lyra whimpered softly, causing him to turn around and shift his eyes down to the spot next to him. She sighed happily before swiftly moving next to him. He sighed before dropping his hand on her head and ruffling her hair before wrapping his arm around her shoulder.

"I'm confused, what's happening?" Harry asked Malfoy.

"She's his familiar, so her status is somewhat like a servant, making him her master. Though she seems extremely free to do what she wants, that is still her status. When Finnick got angry, it upset her because in her eyes, she made him upset when really it's the situation that's happening with May. Familiars are biologically programed to please their creator and not anger or disobey them. It physically hurts them to upset their master."

"Like a House Elf?" Ron asked.

"Kind of, but familiars, or slaves tend not to punish themselves." Blaise said with a pointed look at the group. Ginny and Hermione both blushed at the implication he was making.

"Oh." Hermione said blushing lightly. Draco snickered and pinched her butt causing her to squeal and swat him on the arm.

"Draco, now is hardly the time." Snape scolded, the others jumped, having forgotten that he was there, since he had been so quite. Draco rolled his eyes but conceded and rested his arm around her shoulder.

"Hush, all of you." Finnick said putting a finger to his lips and pointed towards the hall where music could be heard. "Do you hear that?" He asked moving towards the noise. Once they all got closer to the hall they cracked the door slightly so they could see inside.

Inside the hall May sitting at the piano playing while a young man with shaggy blonde hair, and deep purple eyes leaned against it smiling while listening to her.

"Who's that?" Blaise asked.

"Diaval. Amelia's familiar." Finnick replied. "What's wrong?" He asked Lyra. She frowned before turning towards him.

"Why couldn't I tell the presence I felt was him? I've always been able to sense him." She said biting her lip in worry.

"Your magical energy is connected I assume to Finnick's." Lyra nodded her head. "Perhaps you could not sense it was him because Amelia has gotten stronger, and as a result so has he." Snape supplied his theory, Lyra nodded her head in understanding. Finnick smiled at her before putting his finger to his lips to quite them, so they could hear what the two were talking about.

Diaval smiled at Amelia before leaning in closer to her as she played. "From what you've told me so far, it seemed like you were quite close this time. I mean William came close as well, but this time sounds different." He informed her. From outside the hall Finnick's brow creased in confusion.

"That's what I thought as well. I thought that it would happen this time...but now, I'm not so sure." May said sighing heavily. "How is William doing?" Diaval smiled and stood right in front of her.

"He is fine. He and his men ask about you quite often." May smiled at that.

"I do hope the sea has been a fair mistress to him and the men. They were quite kind to me after all." Diaval smiled and nodded his head.

"I wouldn't be surprised if you should come across him at some point. Before you summoned me here, he was going on about finding you." May looked up surprised at the new information but nodded her head.

"He always did come very unexpectedly." May said giggling before sighing and looking up at him.

"If only you could, or would for that matter, choose me. This whole ordeal would be so much easier on you." He said as he cupped her cheek. May smiled up at him sadly leaning into his touch. Finnick felt his mouth drop open and looked at Lyra to see hers was as well.

"Would I could." She replied softly, smiling up at him. Soon her smile turned into a teasing grin. "You and William are very closely matched however. I think it would be quite taxing on my nerves to choose. Though he would have a hard time choosing between me and his other love. I scarcely doubt I would win that battle." She teased. Diaval's grin was replaced with a mocking scowl before he lightly pushed her face away from his hand. Diaval smiled at her lightly before he sighed and sat down next to her on the bench

"Even if I could choose you, I can't see Father or the court, for that matter, being too approving of it." Diaval scoffed as he began to lightly pluck away at the keys. Finnick shared a look with Snape and then caught the eye of Harry who was staring at the two intently, with a gleam of confusion in his green eyes.

"This whole thing has been taxing on you. Yet you're planning on going through with your Father's wishes should you come up empty handed, only too..." Diaval caught himself as he angrily hit the piano keys.

"If you had more time." He started again. May smiled sadly and placed her hand over his, he turned to stare into her eyes. "I would, if I could. It would make this much easier on you." May nodded her head at him lightly before resting her head on his shoulder.

"Don't you think you're over-stepping your boundaries Diaval?" Finnick asked as he walked into the room with Lyra and the others following him.

"Hardly. It is a familiar's duty to keep their master or mistress happy. As you well know." Diaval said grinning as he looked at Lyra. The dig didn't go unnoticed by anybody in the room.

"What are you doing here Finn?" May asked, she paused to look at Lyra, before saying a polite hello.

"Could ask you the same thing." Finnick said as she stalked towards her and pulled her off the bench by her arm.

"What were you thinking? Losing control and then just running away! I've never known you to be so irresponsible!" May looked down at her arm which he was gripping harder the more he talked.

"Let go of her arm. You're hurting her." Diaval said as he grabbed Finnick's wrist and pulled his hand off. Finnick ripped his wrist out of his grip before turning to look at her.

"Amelia." He said softly, May smiled before shaking her head, silently telling him she was fine. He sighed and sat on the bench. "Sit." he said shortly.

"What happened?" May sighed

"I just lost control."

"I don't believe that and you know it. I'm only going to ask once more. What happened?" The group shared a worried glance with each other.

"Nixie, being herself. What was I supposed to do, let them fend for themselves and hide?" Finnick sighed.

"I understand the need to protect them. It's not their battle, but you can't just lose control like that and then just run away."

"You did." May replied. Finnick sighed softly.

"That was...is different, you know that." May turned her head away. "You know why I left, I had too; I didn't have a choice." Finnick replied.

"You used to tell me everything, what happened?" Finnick asked. May got up from the piano bench and walked to the door before turning her head to look at him.

"I grew up, that's what happened." She said before walking back out the door. The others stared at Finnick as he sat on the bench alone.

"You can hardly blame her for being angry. You were gone when she needed you the most. You can't ever take that back."

"Diaval!" Diaval pushed himself off the piano before turning to follow after May. However he stopped and looked back at the others.

"She's been through so much, more that you can imagine. When she's ready to tell you Finnick, she will." He said.

"Or I could just make you tell me." Diaval raised an eyebrow at him, as if saying 'you can try.'

"You know as well as I, that the only person that can make me do anything is Amelia." He nodded once more at the others before leaving the hall and following Amelia up the stairs.

Finnick sighed. "I'll show you to your rooms, feel free to explore the castle and the grounds."

After the group was shown to their rooms they decided to explore the castle grounds. Everyone besides Snape, who went to find Finnick, wrapped themselves in warm coats and made the trip outside.

As the group explored outside, they commented on how big and lovely the grounds were.

"It's nicer than my manor" Draco said as he looked out across the way, taking in the large forest and the cliff that overlooked a large lake. Hermione smiled up at him from her place under his arm and nodded her head.

"It is lovely here." the others all nodded their heads when Harry looked over and saw that Fred looked less impressed and more agitated then anything. He nudged Ginny who stood next to him and raised a questioning eyebrow at her.

"Fred, are you all right?" Ginny asked. Fred sighed and looked at the others.

"Why didn't she say anything? About this, her family, all of it. Why?"

"Maybe it had something to do with you practically shunning her for having an arranged marriage. Just throwing that out there." Blaise pointed out. Fred glared over at him, Blaise raised an eyebrow silently telling him to prove the statement wrong.

"We all have secrets Fred. May's have just been catching up with her." Ginny said as she placed a comforting hand on his arm

"Also Blaise does have a point, with how you reacted to the whole arranged marriage situation, May might be a little hesitant to tell you the rest of her past." Harry said plainly, shrugging his shoulders.

Fred glared over at Harry before sighing. "You don't think I know that? What more can I do, I apologized to her already." Ginny looked over at him and raised her eyebrow

"Don't look at me like that Ginny, I have apologized."

"Oh you apologized for being a total twat have you?" Fred looked at her slightly shocked

"I wasn't a twat." He said slightly offended. Ginny and Hermione both scoffed while rolling their eyes. "Okay fine I was a huge twat." Fred said sighing

"I just don't know what more I can do to get her to open up to me."

"Just talk to her." Harry suggested.

"Talk to who?" The group turned around frightened to see May standing behind them with Diaval at her side.

"To you, to see how you were doing." Ginny answered smiling lightly. Diaval scanned the group with suspicious narrowed eyes before placing his hand on May's shoulder and pulled her closer to his body.

"Dinner is ready, if you all wouldn't mind following us back to the castle." May glanced up at Diaval with an arched eyebrow as he turned her around and led her back to the castle.

"Diaval, don't be so rude." The group shared a small look before following after them

After the group finished eating a mostly all seafood meal, they retired to a seating room right off of the dining room. Ron laid on the floor in front of the fireplace groaning while holding his stomach.

"I ate too much." He groaned loudly.

"Tell us something new" Hermione said while running her fingers through Draco's hair. The others laughed while Ron stuck his tongue out at them.

"Amelia why don't you play us a song." May looked over at Finnick and then over to the piano forte in the corner of the room. May walked over and sat down at the bench before starting to play.

The others in the room slowly began to relax as the melody from May's playing washed over them.

"Can you play anything else?" Ginny asked in a sarcastic teasing manner, May raise her eyebrow at her in reply.

"Yes, she can play the Piano, Harp, Flute, and the Violin." Diaval answered, Fred stared at him through narrowed eyes before catching May's eye; who turned her head away and began to play the beginning of Nocturnes.

"Yes our grandfather demanded nothing but perfection." The others in the group turned to look at Finnick in surprise.

"Not grandfather Albus. He means our great grandfather, our grandpabie." Fred smiled at her.

"Grandpabie?" May blushed as the others laughed at her.

"She couldn't say grandpappie when she was little. She was the only one who was allowed to call him that." May smirked over at Finnick from the piano.

"So he wanted you all to play instruments?" Hermione asked.

"Well him and our father. Our father's family being who they were, those ideas were drummed into his head since he was young." Finnick said, looking over the group once more with calculating eyes, taking in their reactions.

"Most pureblood families are like that. That's how Draco and I were raised." Blaise replied, Draco nodded in agreement.

"I suppose that's true." May said from the piano bench while flipping through music sheets. Fred smiled over at her.

"Play the song that Will loves." Diaval said from the other side of the piano.

"Who's Will?" Diaval smirked over at Fred.

"William is a dear friend." May said glaring at Diaval who rolled his eyes.

"Don't you mean ex-lover?" He teased. Finnick and Fred's eyes widened, while the others looked on in amusement.

"Diaval!"

"Well he was, or at least an almost lover." May glared at him, her eyes glowing purple for a brief moment, she made a zipping motion sealing Diaval's lips shut. Diaval glared at her as he began to point at his mouth angrily.

"Severs you right." May told him smirking.

"William?" Finnick asked. May looked at him before smiling innocently and shrugging. He glared, knowing he wasn't going to get any information out of her. Finnick snapped his fingers, undoing May's spell on Diaval.

"Hey no fair!" May said standing up from the bench. Finnick pointed two fingers at her and drew a circle around her head; making a glowing shield appear above her. He then guided the shield to the ground, were it formed a bubble around her keeping her inside.

"Talk." Diaval glared at him for a moment before sighing.

"Will, was a boy she met when she had just left home. He convinced his captain to grant her passage on their ship. I'm not sure what happened after that, neither of them like to talk about it. After Will helped her get to London they lost track of each other. What with him sailing and her in New York, so she sent me out to find him." Finnick looked over at May who was standing inside the shield with her arms crossed and an angry look on her face.

"So what next then?" Diaval rolled his eyes and continued after a small annoyed nod from May.

"When she was 15, she summoned me back and told me to have Will ready the ship and come get her. From there we traveled around the world with him. Greece, Italy, Paris, the Caribbean. He began to court her but it wasn't meant to be, so they stayed close friends until she came back to London."

"Where were you then?"

"With Will, she asked me to stay with him and watch over him and his crew."

"Crew? Is he a pirate?" Draco joked. Diaval said nothing.

"A Pirate!"

"William is a fine Pirate, and he's saved her life more than once. You should be grateful to him." Diaval told him rolling his eyes.

"Why would you let her get mixed up with a pirate? You know the dangers of that."

"You know more than I Finnick. I can only guide, not command. If May wants to do something, she will. Now let her out." Diaval said pointing towards her. Finnick snapped his fingers and the shield disappeared.

"Was that really necessary?" Finnick shrugged. "I'm going to bed." May rolled her eyes and walked out. From the other side of the room Harry elbowed Fred and nodded his head towards the door.

"I'll walk you back to your room."

May and Fred walked back through the castle in silence, every once in a while they would look at each other and then look away blushing.

"Are you doing better?" Fred asked quietly, May smiled up at him and nodded.

"Yeah I am." May stopped in front of a stone wall. She dragged her finger in a pattern along the wall which revealed a large oak door. May turned and smiled at Fred before she leaned against the door.

"Well thanks for walking me back." Fred nodded his head

"Maybe I could come in and talk?" Fred asked apprehensively. May opened the door and smiled.

"I'll take that as a yes." May nodded and moved to the side to let him in the room.

May walked over to a changing screen next to the balcony, she turned around and smirked at Fred.

"Around you go." She said turning her finger in a circle. Fred smirked before turning around.

"So what did you want to talk about?" May said from behind the screen as she changed clothes.

"Well I wanted to talk to you about everything that happened with us, and Katie… and that guy that came to the Burrow."

"I know you want answers Fred, and you deserve them." May walked out and sat on the bed in front of him. "I'm just not sure how much I can tell you." He nodded.

"We'll take it step-by-step." May smiled at him and nodded, before patting the spot next to her on the large bed. She motioned for him to start talking. Fred took a deep breath and began to fiddle with his shirt sleeve. May raised an eyebrow.

"I just have so many questions that I don't know where to start." May nodded in understanding. "I just want to make sure you know that Katie and I… we aren't serious." May gave him a look.

"It's true, at least it is now." She nodded her head as she played with a tassel on the pillow in her lap.

"Why did you look after me all night?" Fred looked up surprised

"Why wouldn't I? I care about you May. A lot." May looked away blushing. "Plus you put yourself in a situation where you could get hurt."

"No I put you and your family in a situation where you could all get hurt." Fred scoffed at her. "I'm serious, Nixie sent that man after all of you because of me."

"May look at me." May raised her head only to see that Fred was leaning in close to her. He placed his hands on the side of her face and rested his forehead on hers.

"We've been through a war, my family can handle a lot. We. Can. Handle. It." Fred promised her. May nodded her head slightly, while looking up at him through half lidded eyes. Fred's sent of gunpowder, coffee, sweets and something else that was completely him; that she couldn't place washed over her. Fred look down at her, his pupils dilating as he watched her lean into him, her face flush pink and her teeth sink into her bottom lip.

"You're killing me kid." He whispered to her before tilting her head up and capturing her lips much more gently then the last time he kissed her. May whimpered into the kiss before she moved her hands into his hair causing him to groan and pick her up before sitting down on the edge of the bed with May straddling his lap. May threw her head back as Fred let go of her lips and began kissing down her jaw to her neck.

Fred felt her playing with the hem of his shirt so he pulled his lips away from her neck and pulled the shirt over his head and threw it behind him on the bed. May looked down at his bare chest and bit her lip. She locked eyes with him again before smashing her lips onto his making him fall back onto the bed.

Fred groaned while she ran her hands up and down his bare chest while kissing him. May pulled back gazing down at him, her hair making a curtain between them and the rest of the room. As Fred was pulling her head back down to continue their kiss a knock sounded at the door.

"Young mistress, your brother has sent me to make sure that the young man that walked you to your room has left." Fred let his head fall back onto the bed while May scrambled off of him to answer the door, waiting till he put his shirt back on.

"Yes Emily, Fred will be leaving shortly. We were just having a small chat." The older maid, Emily, looked at May's flushed face, her ruffled hair and the love bites that littered her neck and then to Fred as he sat on the bed looking quite annoyed and equally flushed and rumpled.

"I'm sure you were mistress, but I think I'll take the young man back to him room now." Fred pouted and walked over to the door grumbling under his breath. The maid waited at the door, smirking at him. Fred stopped infront of May turning his back to the maid.

"I'll see you tomorrow in the morning, I'll walk you to breakfast." May nodded her head giving him a small serine smile. Fred gripped her chin gently tilting her head up before leaning down and capturing her lips. When it lasted longer than what the maid thought was proper she coughed lightly making May break away blushing.

"Goodnight. I'll see you tomorrow." Fred nodded before turning around and followed the maid back down the hall towards his room while grumbling under his breath. May giggled before she closed her door.

That night May went to bed with a hopeful smile. Thinking that finally she had found what she has been looking for since she left home.
