Chapter 20

"Piper," Cole looked at Piper who fell to the ground. He bent down on his knees and gently put her in his arms. "What happened?" he asked in confusion.

Phoebe felt a shiver down her spine, as she saw her sister in Cole's arms. It was happening, she could see it. "She'll be fine… let's going to the manor, she only needs to rest."

Cole agreed with a nod of his head and took Piper to the Halliwell Manor.

"Cole?" Paige asked in surprise, as she saw him. "What? Piper!"

"She fainted," Phoebe explained. "Don't worry, she'll be fine."

Chris looked at Cole in surprise.

His father.

"Piper…" Cole muttered, gently touching her face.

She slightly opened her eyes and saw him. "You…" she almost unconsciously touched his face. "You came back…"

Cole looked confused at her. "Are you okay?"

Piper looked from Cole to Phoebe. "Yes," she rubbed the back of her neck. "I…" she tried to pick herself up. "I'm fine…"

Phoebe rested her hand over Piper's shoulder. "You should rest, sweetie."

"Phoebe's right," Paige said.

"I'll help you," Cole said, gathering her up and climbing the stairs with her in his arms. He felt her heart beating against his chest. "Don't worry," he let out in a whisper. "I won't hurt you."

Piper cleared her throat. "I know," she replied softly and rested her head on his shoulder.

"Cole…" Phoebe muttered and followed them.

Cole pushed through the bedroom door and laid Piper down her bed. "You'll be fine," he said softly.

"Thank you," Piper muttered.

"C'mon, Cole," Phoebe said. "Let's let her rest."

Cole nodded and they walked down the stairs together.

"She will be fine…" Phoebe said.

"Good," Paige muttered. "Thank you," she looked at Cole.

Cole looked at her and frowned. The Halliwell witches were acting weird. Normally, Paige would be the first one to try to vanquish him, but instead she seemed comfortable with his presence.

Then he looked to the young man, who was leaning against the wall. Cole didn't know why, but he seemed quite familiar.

"His name is Chris," Paige said. "He's our Whitelighter from the future."

Cole nodded. Phoebe talked something about this Chris, a Whitelighter from the future.

He remembered what Phoebe said. Phoebealready knew he was in the Cosmic Void because Chris told her...

It meant that he would be in her future...

"And what about Leo?" Cole asked and Phoebe lowered her head.

"Leo's dead," Paige said with pain in her voice. "He protected Wyatt from a Darklighter…"

Cole looked at her in shook. In his first days on the void, he watched over Phoebe. He used to appear at the manor. But he realized that Phoebe was part of a past he needed to forget. So he never came back to the manor to see her.

"I am really sorry," he said honestly. "I know how much all of you cared about him. How's Piper? She loved him so much…"

"She's sad," Paige replied. "Leo died before our eyes… poisoned by a dark arrow."

Cole shook his head. "He was a good man. He always protected all of you in his own way…"

"We know," Phoebe sighed. "We tried every magical way to bring him back…"

"But it was his destiny…And what about you? You managed to cheat death again…" Paige said softly.

"The angel of destiny gave me a chance… I have a mission now, to help lost souls… I didn't come back to disturb you," Cole said.

Paige nodded. "I hope so…"

"I better go," Cole said, looking at Phoebe.

"Wait a minute," Paige said. "A Whitelighter is after Piper's son. He wants to kill Wyatt."

"What?" Phoebe frowned. "A Whitelighter?"

Cole looked at her in confusion. "Why would a Whitelighter want to kill Piper's son? This doesn't make any sense!"

"But it's true," Chris finally spoke up. "I know it's hard to believe, but a Whitelighter turned evil."

Cole turned to Phoebe. "Your premonition," he muttered.

"What premonition?" Chris asked.

Phoebe lowered her head. "I saw a Whitelighter trying to kill Piper…"
