Chapter 32: Battle of the Sectors Pt. Two
Musubi vs. Ichiya
After participating in the first ashikabi battle and finally punching that bastard Higa in the face, it was time for the sekirei to fight. It'll be a three on three fight. For my team, I chose Musubi, Tsukiumi, and Yomi. Higa, who is currently unconscious and in the infirmary, has chosen Sai, Ichiya, and Mei Rin. There is a five minute countdown going on at the moment. When it hits zero, the sekirei will start without the Game Master's consent.
During the countdown, I am talking with my sekirei, whom have requested a reward if they win. And, being the kind guy I am, I unfortunately agreed, only to have the three tell the entire world things that shouldn't have been said. I was dreading the future at the moment; and it's not because of what they said, but who's going to call and text me because of that.
Still, the damages were done so I can't complain anymore, no matter how much I want to. Yomi was definitely the happiest with Musubi next and Tsukiumi last. I thought back to my encounters with Sai and Ichiya and figured out ways to counter them. Mei Rin on the other hand, is a new face so I have no idea how to counter her. But I have faith that Tsukiumi can get the job done.
"Alright, do you girls remember who you're fighting?" I asked them. They nodded their heads.
"I am fighting Ichiya," Musubi replied.
"Sai is mine," Yomi said.
"And I shall face Mei Rin," Tsukiumi spoke up. I nodded as well.
"Good, now I would tell you how to go about fighting them; but I thought it made me sound like I didn't believe in you. So, have fun; that's all I have to say."
They smiled confidently and ran to hug me. I had to blush. Mostly because the cameras are still rolling and time for the sekirei to fight is thirty seconds away. I did return their hugs, much to the joy of the crowd.
"Listen; I won't give you a kiss to activate your norito. And it's because I want you to beat them without it. I want you to show them how strong you really are. Okay?"
"We understand," they agreed. The buzzer sounded, and the three walked ahead of me. I smiled at seeing how broad their shoulders were. I stayed back and crossed my arms. I had to keep on guard since I'm also targetable.
Musubi stepped up to Ichiya, who cracked her knuckles.
"For hurting my ashikabi, I will make you pay tenfold," she declared.
"Your ashikabi was just a bad man. Ren won fair and square," Musubi stated. "And I will make sure, his win was well earned."
Ichiya took her stance, and Musubi took hers. Silenced filled the air as their respective teammates watched them. The countdown started from ten; and when the buzzer screeched on zero, both girls rushed at each other. Ichiya launched a high-kick while Musubi threw her devastating haymaker. The punch and kick collided, causing the earth to shatter underneath them. Ichiya then crouched and went for the leg sweep, but Musubi back flipped over it and kicked in midair. Quickly, Ichiya blocked it and retaliated by throwing her.
Musubi dragged her hands against the ground and stopped herself. She then rushed at Ichiya again and punched rapid fire. Ichiya managed to evade her attacks and threw her own punch aimed for the gut. Musubi saw it coming and caught it. Then, she pulled Ichiya towards her while launching another haymaker; but Ichiya got free in time and flipped over her. Musubi pivoted, winding up a kick. Ichiya threw hers, and the two smash together. A gale kicked up and blew away some sand.
I just stood back enough so I wouldn't get caught in the crossfire. I was watching the fight intensely with my arms crossed. Out of the corners of my eyes, I would occasionally check to make sure I wasn't about to be hit. Now that I'm targetable, there's a chance they might attack me. I know my girls would come to my aid; but just in case, I activated my prowess.
Musubi used my technique and punched the ground. Rocks jumped up in front of her, and she smashed all of them, sending bullets at Ichiya. Knowing she couldn't dodge them, Ichiya ran around Musubi and got behind her. Before she could turn around, Ichiya attempted to kick her. However, Musubi ducked on the turn around and started encasing her fist in pink energy.
"Bear Fist!" She exclaimed as she went for the uppercut. Ichiya's expanded, and she just barely evaded her demise, but the power behind it slid her back a little. A small cut appeared on Ichiya's cheek and a little blood started flowing down. I couldn't keep it together and started snickering. She wiped the blood from her cheek and tightened her fist.
"You got lucky with that one," she stated. Ichiya charged full speed and used her superior reach to attack. Musubi ducked under the kick, pivoted three sixty, and used attacked with her forehand. She used the momentum to power her swing. Ichiya threw her kick in retaliation, but her strength couldn't match it and she ended up being dragged across the ground. She used her hands to jump up and land on her feet. Musubi was practicing her punches by throwing them in random air.
"She's only toying with her," I said to myself. That's when I noticed something about Ichiya. She was grinning from ear to ear; and her position…was only several feet away from me. I saw her turn her head and body and rush towards me. My sekirei were taken by surprise, but I was still calm.
"Taking you out will be easier now that you're weaker," Ichiya stated. She jumped and came down with a megaton kick. Musubi was running full speed, trying to intercept her, but she wasn't going to make it in time. I just stood in the same place and let her hit me; however, all she hit was a doppelganger. He smirked and faded away, and I was seen with the particles coming back.
"Nice try, but no; I figured you would try something like this," I said. She gritted her teeth and tried attacking again, but Musubi finally caught up and blocked her attack. She threw a right hook, but Ichiya ducked and jumped back.
"Sorry Ren; I let her get away," Musubi apologized.
"There's no need to apologize Musubi. I anticipated this actually," I told her. "Just keep her within your sights."
She nodded and rushed Ichiya, who jumped over her and used gravity to power her kick. Musubi did a sky uppercut and met her attack head on. The force between them caused the ground to implode and rocks to break apart. Ichiya smirked and back flipped to the ground.
"It seems we are evenly matched," she pointed out.
"That's where you're wrong," I stated.
"What?" she said. I laughed again.
"This entire time, Musubi has only been toying with you. And if you don't believe me, give it a try."
Her expression quickly changed to anger. Musubi on the other hand, was smiling happily. She thrust her arms out, and a pink aura started flowing around her limbs. Ichiya was surprised by her feat.
"Musubi, it's time to show everyone how strong you've become; and make sure Karasuba gets a clear view.
"Yes Ren," she stated. Musubi charged forward with heightened speed. She was only a blur as her fist connected with Ichiya's jaw. The impacted echoed throughout the area. Ichiya flew back at least thirty feet. A giant dust trail followed behind her as her corpse slid across the ground. Groggily, Ichiya stood back up and wiped the blood from her mouth. Musubi went after her, but she quickly jumped out of her reach. However, Musubi thrust her fist, ejecting a swift pink aura punch. It soared at Ichiya with incredible speed. Speed that was so fast that even my eyes had trouble catching it.
The fist made contact and exploded. A pink light filled the arena, and smoke engulfed the place. When it cleared, Ichiya was nowhere to be seen. Musubi and I looked for her, but didn't see her. That's when we saw her coming down with another megaton kick. I was about to move, but Musubi placed her hand on the ground and used her bear palm. She shot up in the air. And cocked her fist back. The pink aura appeared around it, making it resemble a torpedo. Her punch, and Ichiya's kick smashed together.
"AHHHHHH!" Ichiya screamed. Her power wasn't powerful enough and she received a punch to the chin. Musubi then encased her leg in aura and grabbed Ichiya. Vehemently, Musubi kneed her in the stomach. Even her gasp was loud enough to hear. Musubi then switched places with Ichiya and kicked the hell out of her. It only took her three seconds to crash into the ground. She hit it so hard that she formed a small crater. Ichiya was desperately trying to breathe in air. She tried sitting up, but her body refused. I looked back at Musubi.
"Musubi! It's time to finish this!" I exclaimed. She dove down like a swan, encasing her fist in the same pink aura. Following it, her fist started glowing. She fixed her fall and once again, cocked her fist back.
"Bear Fist!" she exclaimed. The bear image appeared behind her as she drove her fist into Ichiya's gut. She arched up and screeched in excruciating pain. Another bright light shined, but there were two of them. Musubi soon came from the smoke, but Ichiya was still inside. Once the smoke cleared, Ichiya was lying on the ground. She wasn't moving an inch, so my uncle came down and checked her status. He looked at Minaka and slowly shook his head no. I saw his smile widen as a result.
"One bird has now fallen! And who will be the next to fall? Let's see more!" He demanded. Musubi ran up to me and happily hugged me. I returned her hug and rubbed her hair.
"Excellent job Musubi; I knew you could do it. I never doubted you for a second."
She giggled and looked up at me.
"Ren, can we still go out after this?"
"Of course; it'll be a reward for your hard work," I replied showing her a happy smile. She buried her head in my chest, and I kissed her head. My uncle gave me a thumbs up as he walked back to the other higher ups and Minaka. A soldier from MBI came to pick up Ichiya and carried her off. Following after Musubi's fight, Yomi and Sai took their stand.
