Chapter 40: The Plan Pt. 3
Jason, his party, my party, and I were at my house. Now that Jason finally obtained a Jinki, it was time for Matsu to give us a background check on them. I walked to a secret panel hidden in the wall, input a passcode, gave my oculi ID, and voice recognition. After the long process, the final door opened and revealed the beautiful gem I 'traded' to save Chiho. I grabbed said gem, hoping the enemy hasn't figured out that they have a fake. I walked back into the living room where everyone else were and waited for Matsu to begin, but the look on her face told me she was hiding something.
"Matsu, before we begin, reveal to us what you're hiding," I stated. She gave me a nervous look and then nodded. She showed us what she was hiding, making everyone except Kazehana and Homura gasp. In her hands, a Jinki with the number eight rested. Everyone, including me, was shocked. Kazehana and Homura were the only ones not fazed by it.
"You had a Jinki the entire time and didn't say anything?" Jason asked. She laughed halfheartedly.
"I wanted to wait until Ren obtained one before revealing it. You see, after the first generation Discipline Squad disbanded, I stole this and ran away, almost dying, but managed to get away safely thanks to Takehito. Since then, M.B.I has been hunting me down to get the Jinki back. But when you live with two of the scariest people, you get all the protection you need."
"And that's why Kazehana and Homura wasn't surprised like the others because they already know," I added. Kazehana leaned against me.
"Sorry for not telling you darling, but it was for your own safety."
"Anyway, now I can get started on my explanation," Matsu spoke up. We all focused on her, as I had to deal with my other sekirei holding on to me out of jealousy.
"Okay, now you all know the Jinki are mysterious artifacts. Miya and Takehito once told me that ashikabi and sekirei have incessantly fought over these powerful artifacts in blood and sorrow. They are much more powerful than you can imagine. For starters, these items have the power to bring terminated sekirei back to life.
"Whoa, are you serious?" Jason asked. Matsu nodded.
"The Jinki are linked directly to a sekirei's core and it allows an ashikabi to turn the core on or off as they desire.
"That's cool, depending on who has it I mean though," Jason commented.
"However, if all Jinki are brought together, you have the power to terminate ALL sekirei," Matsu continued. "But there's another problem; over time, sekirei have mated with their ashikabi and passed on the core. If someone were planning to terminate all sekirei, they will also be affecting the descendants and cause human mass genocide."
I was waiting for Jason to comment, but he had nothing.
"So why would Minaka give away such dangerous items as prices when he himself is fully aware of the risks?" I asked. Matsu straightened her glasses.
"That I'm afraid is something I'm not sure of. I have to see, but I'll let you know when I find out his intentions."
"So judging by what you said, Ren and I have the power to basically terminate any sekirei?" Jason asked.
"Well yes, but why do you ask?" Matsu questioned.
"That Jinki you replicated; is it just for decoration or does it work like the original?" Jason interrogated.
"It's just for décor; do you honestly think I would create something with the potential of killing us all?" Matsu questioned, resulting in all of us giving that 'yes' look. She sweat dropped.
"Even you Ren?"
I turned my head and mumbled an apology. I then looked at the Jinki in my hand then to Akitsu. That's when an idea formed in my head.
"Akitsu, stand up please," I told her. She gave me a confused look, but complied in the end.
"Now I want you to stand still and relax."
She nodded and closed her eyes.
"Ren, what are you doing?" Matsu asked. I put my finger to my lips, asking for silence. Once it was quiet, I held the Jinki up close to her crest. I waited for something to react, in which the crest along with the Jinki began to glow.
"Talk to me Akitsu; are you alright?" I asked her. She nodded.
"Yes master; I feel great."
I brought the Jinki closer, causing the glow to brighten. I took a deep breath and chanted,
"I am the holder of this God Vessel. Bring this fallen bird's feathers and allow her to take flight once again. Allow this bird to spread her wings and soar through the heavens."
The chant caused her crest to disappear, making everyone gasp. I lowered the Jinki and gave her a soft kiss on the lips. The contact caused another bright light to flash. Next thing I know, a pair of snowflake-like wings appeared behind her. The temperature started decreasing, causing Carmen to raise it again. Akitsu held her hands together and in front of her chest. Her wings vanished, and her crest now appeared on the back of her neck, like the others.
"Akitsu, how do you feel?"
She opened her eyes and looked at me.
"One more time master; I want to feel it once more."
I smiled and nodded my head. Like she asked, I gave her another kiss; and like before, a pair of snowflake wings sprouted behind her. She chanted to me,
"By the ice that represents my vow, freeze the perils that befall my ashikabi. I am sekirei no. 7, Akitsu; may we be together for now and forever."
"Welcome to the family Akitsu," I said, giving her a hug.
"Thank you master," she replied.
"How did you do that?" Matsu asked.
"You said that I have the ability to turn her core on or off; I figured I could sever our connection and wing her again properly. Now she can use her norito like the rest of you," I explained. Akitsu was really happy because she wouldn't let me go, much to Musubi and Tsukiumi's jealousy.
"So what do we do now?" Jason asked.
"We still have to wait for new combatants," I pointed out. Right on cue, noon struck; but none of our phones went off.
"So neither of us has to fight this time," Jason commented.
"Then let's focus on our other objective," I said. "Takehito should be calling soon."
Again, on cue, my phone went off with Takehito appearing on the caller ID. I put it on speaker and answered.
"Ren; I have some news on Chiho's disease," he replied.
"Is it good or bad?" I asked.
"Both; which do you want to hear first?" he asked back.
"Tell me the good news first," I replied.
"Okay, the good news is, M.B.I can cure Chiho," he responded.
"YES!" Uzume yelled ecstatically.
"However," Takehito continued, ruining Uzume's happy mood. "In order to do it, you have to bring her there to get the treatment. And no, she cannot go that hospital Ren recuperated at. You have to bring her directly to M.B.I."
"I see. So all we have to do is bring her to M.B.I and you'll do the rest?" I asked.
"That is correct Ren," someone stated. My first instinct was to look at the TV, only to see Minaka sitting in a chair with his hands together and a smug look on his countenance.
"Hiroto Minaka, you heard all that?" I interrogated.
"Yes, I have known about this plan ever since you gave Higa that fake Jinki. Also, congrats on successfully winging no. 7," he responded.
"So you were aware of our plan all along," I said. He started laughing.
"You should know that I have knowledge of everything within the Sekirei Plan. That includes curing Ms. Hidaka; and I'll be more than happy to help."
"Really; you will?" Uzume asked. I placed a hand on her shoulder.
"What's the catch?"
Minaka laughed again.
"Observant; I like that. Like Takehito said, all you have to do is bring Ms. Hidaka here and let our doctors handle her; however, you have two conditions to fulfill."
"Conditions?" I repeated. Minaka nodded.
"Yes, but since you and Jason showed me a marvelous battle, I will give you a head start on one. You have an hour and a half to bring Ms. Hidaka to me. The second condition is that you must pass the ashikabi and sekirei that stands in your way; all while making it to the top of M.B.I in time."
"So it's a race basically," I spoke up.
"Precisely; think you can make it?" He asked. I ended my call with Takehito and faced Jason.
"Jason, you and your sekirei get to Chiho and wait until we arrive. Your job is to keep anyone away from her."
"You got it," he responded. "Let's move everyone!"
I gave him an earpiece and watched his party leave. I then faced Minaka again.
"This head start, it was until Jason made it to the hospital that you would start the countdown."
"You have it all figured out don't you?" He questioned. "Also, I should mention; I took the liberty of telling Higa of your trickery. Now he's after Ms. Hidaka with the intent to kill. Good luck; and your time starts…now."
With that, Minaka left the screen.
"Ren, what's the plan?" Matsu asked. I summoned Carmen.
"Carmen, check Hiyamakai Hospital's perimeter. I want to see if any enemies have shown up. Show Jason and his party as blue, Chiho as yellow, and the enemy as red."
"Affirmative, scanning perimeter," she responded.
"Ren?" Uzume called out. I didn't look at her but placed my hands on her shoulders.
"Don't worry; I got it all planned out. We just have to see how the enemy acts."
"Scan complete," Carmen notified. The screen showed nine blue dots, two of which were more inside the building and standing beside the yellow dot; but no red dots have showed up.
"Uh-oh," I said.
"Huh?" Everyone responded.
"Uh-oh? Why uh-oh?" Matsu asked.
"Carmen quick, check our perimeter, same color variation," I demanded.
"Scanning."
"There's no doubt about it," I commented.
"Scan complete."
Carmen showed us the screen once more. My party was the blue and I was the yellow; however, there were red dots completely surrounding us.
"I knew it," I stated.
"What do we do now?" Musubi asked.
"We don't have much time so I have to make this quick. We need to split up," I responded.
"What?" Everyone said.
"We have to split into two separate teams. One team will stay here and fend off the intruders while the other team helps out Jason and the others," I explained.
"Okay, so who's staying besides me?" Matsu asked. I thought about it as quickly as possible.
"Matsu, Yomi, Akitsu, and Tsukiumi; I want you four to stay here. Toyotama, Musubi, Uzume, and Kazehana, you four are with me; we'll go help Jason and his team.
"Why do I have to stay here?" Tsukiumi complained.
"Because you three can fight at long ranges so you don't have to get close to the enemy," Matsu told them. I nodded in agreement.
"You three can use that to your advantage. You four stay here and fend off the enemy, make sure no one gets close to the Jinkis. And as an added bonus, I give you all permission to go wild. Fight with everything you got; don't worry about breaking anything. Fight beyond the hundred percent.
"Now that's what I'm talking about," Yomi said.
"Carmen, those red dots; I want them gone. I don't care how you do it, just get it done; and try not to hit my girls," I responded.
"Yes director."
I looked at the other team.
"Remember; don't worry about the house, just focus on the objective.
They all nodded, and I gave them a kiss to use their norito.
"Good luck."
I then gave Kazehana a kiss.
"Summon the biggest and strongest twister you can around the house; that's how we'll escape."
"Alright darling; but do you think I can have another…"
I interrupted her by giving her another kiss. She smiled happily and walked to one of the windows.
"Wind of my pledge, blow away the dark clouds that befalls my ashikabi," She chanted. She started emitting a bright and purple aura. Kazehana elegantly waved her arms, causing fierce winds to blow.
"Kami-Kaze!"
The winds got so strong that the windows shattered. I looked out one and saw a skyscraping twister swirling around.
"Excellent job Kazehana," I complimented. She giggled.
"Now let's go; we've wasted too much time."
My team jumped out the windows, but I stayed behind to give the others my tightest hug.
"Stay safe okay? We'll be back; I promise as your husband that we'll return."
"You as well," Yomi said.
"Take care my husband," Tsukiumi spoke up.
"Stay safe master," Akitsu responded.
"Good luck Ren," Matsu encouraged. I gave them one last kiss and headed out too. I jumped out the window while channeling my thunder. The others have gone ahead of me so I took off like a speeding bullet. I contacted Jason's channel.
"Jason, listen up; you have you to move now. The enemy attacked my place so no one should be at the hospital. Leave now; we're wasting time!"
"You're the best carrier because of your speed so Homura and I will wait for you," he replied.
"Alright then; I'm almost there. I can see the place now," I said. I turned off the earpiece and focused on what to do.
'Don't worry Chiho; we'll see that you be cured of this virus once and for all. I vow to save you.'
