*PLEASE READ AUTHORS MESSAGE BEFORE YOU START READING*
Wow, hello! I haven't written for this story about a year.
Now let me very straightforward.
I have up on this story. I was awfully bored of it.
And let's just get it good, the leader of Rainstorm's Clan is named: Windstar.
I made some issues with her name some time ago, so let's get it through. I literally forgot what Clan Rainstorm is, so can some of you remind me? I haven't written in a year and I like forgot everything.
But here I am, writing and updating for this story exactly a year later!
Now, how I promised, Mapleshade's Story. Hey, it's done. 60,000 words plus! I'm re-writing and editing it, because I lost the first goddamned file that held the first three chapters. So, the first chapter will be published around October 20th. It's a very long chapter, okay.. I'm hoping that you all will enjoy it just as you have enjoyed this story. I love you all very much, haters and lovers! You still help me!
AND BEFORE I FORGET: Do any of my fans watch Game of Thrones?! I recently got into it and I'm like crying how good it is. I'm on the third book, and finished all the seasons. HOUSE STARK FTW. (I swear, if any of you support Walder Frey, imma..okay..Anyway, so I was listening to 'House Stark Theme' like the whole chapter writing this. I literally starkted to cry because how depressing and how beautiful it is. I love Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and of course, everyone's favorite: Tyrion Lannister! Jaime is still one of my favorites...
Anyway, for you, the story:
Cody's P.O.V
Cody and Cato ran after the Clan cats for days..Cato couldn't even remember. Lost count a long time ago. He teamed up with his brother to help find food. Both of them were torn up and beaten, hungry. They were planning on attacking those Clan cat's that used to live by the lake. He knew that the forest burned up and the cats were on some journey to find a new place. Those determined blasted cats kept going no matter how long Cody and Cato trudged on. Going where, though? He wasn't sure.
But all he knew was that they kept managing to keep the distance, going for hours every day. He lay down, exhausted. Cato glanced about, searching for anything they could possibly find to eat. The sign of intelligence that once was living on in Cody was completely wiped from the dogs face. It was now marred with a mad fury, and cold and terrifying eyes. He was starving. And badly, as the narrator, to tell you.
His once-white silvery fur was now a dark, dirty gray. His ears were torn, and now he bore sunken hazel eyes. His paws were bloody and ripped. His tail was trailing in the dust, and of course, the mad fury of his tense shoulders, and snarl. Cato, on the other hand was a once-handsome tawny dog with beautiful amber eyes, and a long furry tail.
Now, he was caked in dust and mud, dehydrated, and starving. His claws were also torn as his brothers. Both dogs were hungry, for the dogs has not fed for a couple days, and for Cody knowing not to hunt was extremely difficult for him and his brother. Cato was younger then him, and doesn't know how to hunt as well. Cody managed to catch a cat three days ago, and he and his brother developed a growing taste for cat meat.
After resting for a bit, he got up. Cody glanced around, trying to find something that he could eat. Unfortunately for him or his sibling, there was nothing. His stamina was now very low, and he couldn't keep on walking forever. Both me, you, and Cody and Cato knew that.
The younger dog huffed. The heat was terrible, and he was thirsty. His throat was achingly dry, and his stomach was gnawing from hunger. The tired and hungry dogs forced themselves to pad on, Cody's ears alert for any scuffle of prey. Knowing the forest was half barren due to the Two-legs that were cutting the trees and were pouring black liquids on the ground that smelled foul, Cody didn't have too much hope. His mother long ago taught him not to eat any animals that were near the impacted area.
Cody ran along the stream, Cody hot on his trail. They panted, suddenly driven by hunger. They had new energy, a promise of a feast when the brothers would be able to catch up to those blasted stupid cats.
And soon, he did, after a trek. He spotted the Clans, and he suddenly gave a mad chuff of laughter. Cato grinned, lashing his tail with excitement.
"We'll be feasting soon!" Cody barked, eyes glowing.
Rainstorm's P.O.V
Rainstorm was resting. She swore that she smelled something in the breeze. She padded over to Stormheart and Talon. The two cats were talking, and Talon's eyes were narrowed. Stormheart scowled, and his scowled lessened as he saw Rainstorm's light tabby face.
"Hey, Rainstorm." Stormheart purred, the anger completely dissipated in his beautiful eyes.
"Hello Stormheart," Rainstorm nuzzled him. "Hi Talon. How are you faring?"
"Wonderfully, it's nice to have other cats watching my back. It's not easy living in terror." He smiled genuinely at Rainstorm. Rainstorm dips her head, sitting with the two. "Anyway, it's been three moons of adventuring, and we don't know where we are or where we are going. Do you guys have any hope? I'm starting to lose it. Windstar too."
Stormheart thought for a moment. "Well, we're bound to get to a place soon enough."
Talon nods, his tail flicking. He was allowed joining Rainstorm's Clan for the service he provided earlier, and was known for healing most of the cats in the camp from burns and scratches, sore paws. He was soon to be named as a full-fledged warrior of the Clans.
Suddenly, a ruckus exploded in the clearing. A huge, gigantic but thin dog exploded from the bushes, snarling. A dog, the same size followed, eyes glinting with a mad fire, as he charged at the nearest cat, dropping down at her and snapping the cat's back, and killed the screeching cat instantly. Rainstorm got to her paws, gasping. It all happened so fast..The moment she stared into the white-silver dog's eyes. She saw pure madness, and a hunger..hunger for killing.
He looked Rainstorm dead in the eyes, and charged. Rainstorm screeched, turning to flea. In the scrabble to get to Rainstorm, the dog snatched a MoorClan queen, and killed her instantly with one bite to the neck. He tore off a chunk of her flesh, wolfing it down. A scream of horror split the clearing, and Rainstorm knew it was the queen's mate. Horror, terror and anger gripped the warrior's face, as he launched himself at the dog.
The big white dog merely flung the spitting warrior away, and fighting. He was gigantic, and no matter how many cats would try to get near, the nimble dog would snap and kill. He snapped at Silvermist, but Blacknight smacked the dog away.
The hazel brown dog was doing much better than his companion. He managed to attack two warriors, both of them fighting furiously, but the dog bit one's paw, and the other cowered, giving time for the dog to give him a couple bites before the cats ran off. The white dog howled, and finally got a good way to get at Rainstorm. He charged, and bit her tail. The silver she-cat screeches, as he managed to pull back and leap onto her.
Stormheart let out a caterwaul of fury, leaping on the white-haired dog. Shrieking, Talon joined in the fight. Snarling, the dog pushed back, and leaving a horrendously bloody Rainstorm to stagger away. The other cats, from other Clans hurried in aid to bite down the dogs.
Cato snapped in turn, managing to catch a spitting Hailstar, and Hailstar retaliated with a claw to the muzzle. Meanwhile, Cody leaped back, having enough of the fight. Five dead cats were littered on the floor. Three cats were with serious injuries. Rainstorm was in the corner panting. She saw Shadowflight..Her best friend. She was lain on the ground, her muzzle twisted around, muzzle caked and dripping with blood. The eyes were sightless, and the kits that were growing in her belly were now lost forever. Her mate, Brackenclaw was bent over her, tears welling up in his eyes. He nuzzled her desperately.
"Wake up, Shadowflight. Please..Wake up." He sobbed.
The dog fled, dragging a corpse of a half eaten cat with him. The Clan cats watched, in disgust and in terror. How couldn't four Clans stop a dog? That's the real question. But Cody was gigantic, and he was a skilled fighter. The dog was bearing many wounds, and so did many Clan cats.
Windstar was also scratched on the neck, and Hailstar wasn't doing too much better.
Stormheart was searching for Rainstorm, having a terrible limp in one claw. Talon had a torn ear. Rainstorm managed to claw herself up to another grove, where she panted, blood leaking out of her life. She thought she was going to die, until a handsome face was seen in her vision. It was Talon. Rainstorm was weak with relief, relaxing immediately.
The cat gently pressed herbs to her skin, and helped tend to her burning wound. He gave her poppy to sleep. The grove had hard stones, and so, he gently nosed Rainstorm to lie on him. She was too tired and too fragile of a state to climb down. Anyway, Talon got her covered. "Oh, my sweet sweet Rainstorm." He nuzzled her softly.
"I love you, Rainstorm. I love you a lot.. And when you wake up..Maybe...Maybe love would find away. Now sleep sweetly. Sleep and let ForestClan heal you, so they can bring you back to me."
She fell into a dark slumber, dreaming only of Talon's soft, soothing words, and his gorgeous eyes. "I love you, Rainstorm.." Was the soft mew that lulled her to sleep in the growing darkness.

I'm glad now I found more inspiration, and someone else has joined the ranks of the loving game!
