A/N: All right everyone, this is it, the final battle. We've come a long way since the very beginning and now here we are; I'm going to save the emotional speech for later, but for now, kick back, relax, and enjoy. Let's begin.
Ice Chronicles
Chapter Finale: A Brand New World
I still remember when I first, or rather somewhat, entered the Sekirei Plan. I say somewhat, because while Akitsu IS a sekirei, she couldn't be winged like the other sekirei. So because of her status, I was still outside the plan. I mean I found her in that coat and managed to get a few words out of her, but I could tell how lonely and hurt she was. Her eyes showed unbelievable sadness, or just plain emotionless stuff. Then things started heating up when Mikogami and Mutsu attacked, wanting Akitsu. It was strange, but usually I would try to avoid trouble like that, but when I read Akitsu, and yes, I mean looked into the eyes of the ice sekirei, I couldn't leave her alone. Call me a fool, but I am not evil. There is no way I'd leave someone like Akitsu in the cold to be taken in by some spoiled rich kid. She may have lived in a much nicer home, but that didn't stop me anyway.
I've seen a lot of anime with intense fight scenes and combat. Being the obvious nerd that I am, I tried to use that knowledge, which I have a full abundance of, to fight; it may have been the stupidest idea I've ever had, but hey, no one can say I didn't try. Well I tried, and of course, Mutsu kicked my ass, but Akitsu still came with me in the end. Even I was surprised at first. I took Aki home with me, hoping no one would see us, because let me be honest. If someone saw a tall teenage boy pulling a beautiful woman dressed in nothing but a lab coat along with him, what's the first thing that comes to mind besides what the fuck? Luckily, we didn't draw attention to ourselves, but I felt very uncomfortable. Not because I was taking some random ice commanding alien home with me; it's not the strangest thing I've done in my life, but Aki was just, too exposed at the time. I remember staring at her so intently sometimes, looking at her very shapely figure and graceful movements. She was like an angel, her big breasts being one of my constant stares, but I'm getting off topic. Aki explained what sekirei and ashikabi were and how this so called 'game' is ruled. I didn't like it from the minute she said fight to the death. I mean, enslaving an alien race, who no doubt can murder a person in one strike, and force them to fight to the death. First off, what kind of power does one person have to tame beings like that? Secondly, what twisted experiments were executed in order to bring point one to fruition? Lastly, why make them kill each other when they can be given much more valuable tasks, like espionage, infiltration, or even better, military units. I mean that would be some kick ass military, but I'm getting off topic again. Aki is also the woman I've had sex with for the very first time and it was just incredible. She became very bold that night, which neither of will ever forget. That day came a lot later though, and yet I still remember it as if it was yesterday. To this day, and forevermore, Akitsu will still remain my absolute favorite of the bunch.
Backtracking, after Aki and I kissed for the first time, establishing our bond as sekirei and ashikabi, I had dreams of Tsukiumi the next morning, which I found very strange. When I became more familiar with the sekirei, I started thinking how was I able to have dreams of sekirei, when really, I didn't wing any yet. As I said, Akitsu's status was pretty much my shield, but that still doesn't explain how I was able to dream about Tsukiumi, a single number I will add. Uncle Clyde and Matsu explained how an ashikabi can know their next sekirei through events like that, but that's what I find strange. I wasn't an ashikabi technically so how could I dream of Tsukiumi, let alone have her react to me? Well, I confronted her, almost getting electrocuted by Hibiki and Hikari, and doused with water by the sekirei I was trying to help, but things worked out in the end. I had another beautiful woman by my side and hoped I wouldn't receive any more, but I was wrong. Tsukiumi is a strong sekirei and can be very cute when she's embarrassed, but that jealous streak of hers needed a TON of work. I managed to change her perspective on things, having fun teasing her and sexually fondling her… cough... but now she sees things differently, still a little jealous but I can deal with that. Now she's become even more like my actual wife and I love her and Aki very much. They're dear to me. I had sex with Tsukiumi before some special event initiated by Minaka. I wanted it to be special since Tsukiumi is always going on about being my wife so I wanted to take her out to special places, like a mini honeymoon. Unfortunately, when we exchanged gifts, Ryan showed up once again and challenged us. To say Tsukiumi was angry is a serious understatement. We drove Ryan and Kaie away, gaining a potential ally in the process, and then headed home to commence our passionate lovemaking.
I winged two more sekirei the night after I winged Tsukiumi. That's where it got stranger for me. Musubi, my adorable fist fighter, showed up to save me from Ryan that night. I was amazed when I saw her. She showed great promise, especially when she joined my team. She's definitely a scatterbrain, but I find that part of her more adorable, albeit a little funny at times. Time and time again, she's proven to be very loyal and supporting; there hasn't been a time where she let me down. She's always been there when I needed it, always flashing that joyous smile, and proving how determined she was. I can't help but smile every time she does. Her day of sex came after a tragic explosion of my beautiful house. All those precious memories and moments, gone in the blink of an eye. That was the first time I was truly angry with someone other than my family. Unfortunately for the bastard who did it, I survived, and later on, I formed my own team and kicked his ass. I had the pleasure of having sex with Musubi, and even her concealed tenant, Yume, who nearly sucked my soul away with how many times we went at it.
Now for one of the questions that I STILL haven't figured out. How the hell did Matsu get into my 'apartment' without me knowing? First, the light goes out, I'm attacked by Ryan, Musubi comes to my rescue and joins my team, and then the lights return and Matsu sneaks up on me. How the hell did she do that? I mean I know the woman is a genius, but when, where, and how did she sneak into my 'apartment?' I still haven't figured it out, but at this point, I'm glad she did. Despite her… *ahem*... compassion, she's a valuable member to the team. Smart, beautiful, and is actually pretty strong regardless of her fragileness. I found out she knows how to ride motorcycles and is a skilled gunslinger. I managed to stay gentle and not become a pervert, but it's sometimes hard with Matsu's temptations. Besides that, I love Matsu as well; she's a great strategist and will always let me know if a plan is too dangerous or is likely to fail. She can be very comforting, when she's not trying to get into my pants anyway, but I love her either way. When we had sex, our house was completely rebuilt thanks to my uncle and his friends. I even got a new soundproof room, which Matsu thoroughly made sure works by moaning and screaming so loud in ecstasy that night. I even found out she's into bondage…a lot.
I've never been that lucky, and yet, four sekirei flocked to me in a matter of days. How did things turn out like that? I may never know, but I know one thing, I must have been giving something a long time ago to give me such luck. Yomi was next to come to my side, albeit a little different than the rest. I swear I thought it was the Shinigami coming to take me away. Yes, Yomi is very pretty and attractive, but her scythe drew my attention a lot more than her appearance. Not only that, but she just came out of nowhere, adding on to that fear I had. Amazingly, I was able to outrun her a couple times, but failed at directions. Need to remember to watch the damn road next time I'm running away from someone. Anyway, I cleared things up with her and put her on the team. I haven't regretted the decision at all; Yomi is a great addition and companion for Matsu to get along with. The two became so close they can practically read the other's thoughts and finish each other's finish. I find it scary at times. Yomi though is dedicated and determined; she loves me a lot just like the rest. I can count on her for anything as well. Yomi literally dragged me out of the house when it was her turn for sex.
Uzume came about a week or two after Yomi, something like that. I had sex with Akitsu and Yomi, the latter literally dragging me out the house, by the time Uzume appeared in my life. She is personally one of my favorites. She's sweet, beautiful, fun loving, and is a joy to be around. She always make me laugh and I've seen the cutest sides of her. When she introduced me to our future adopted daughter Chiho, I could instantly see how close the two were. I became the sick girl's father and Uzume her mother. I was a little hesitant at first, but the idea quickly grew on me. We cured Chiho's sickness, giving her into the care of my uncle. We had to survive a small percentage of MBI first, but we managed to do it, even with enemy ashikabi and sekirei fighting against us. We saved Chiho, and I enjoyed the passionate night with Uzume. We became closer, adopted Chiho, and lived like a regular family for the most part. Uzume herself proved to be my stress reliever mostly; she knows exactly what to do to calm me down. Chiho is just like her mother in that department. I can say no to Uzume, but Chiho makes it nearly impossible to do that with her. They are my lovely wife and adorable daughter and I'm glad to have them.
Now it's time for the wind goddess herself, Kazehana. She's easily my most developed sekirei and rivals Aki with lovingness. Things escalated between us pretty quickly. She tried to get me to go out with her after having sex with Yomi, but I refused and used my 'Super Sexy Sweet Talking,' as my group calls it, to sway her. Sometimes, I don't even remember the day we spoke and bonded; I just feel like she's been with me for so long that it's natural or something. It's complicated, but I love having her around. I consider her my most gentle sekirei, like the wind she commands, she can be gentle, yet instantly change to fierce and commanding. Like Matsu, she won't hesitate to tell me if something is too dangerous, but no matter what, she'll follow me through every step of the way, even if it means giving up her life just to protect me. If polygamy was legal, I'd propose to every single sekirei I have. Sex with Kazehana was one of the best and still is; she's not looking to stay dominant or submissive, try out all these different positions, or see who can outlast who, but to feel the love. She's the hopeless romantic of the group and I wouldn't have her any other way. She wants to have a baby of her own; I've figured it out by how she interacts with Chiho, who is like a surrogate niece to Kazehana. The wind sekirei loves the idea very much that she request more love time; and me, being the lovable guy that I am, happily obliges.
It's been a while after Kazehana for me to gain another sekirei. I've said before that I was hoping to keep the team like it was, but I received one more in the form of Toyotama. Ahh Toyo, another one of my personal favorites. She's an exotic beauty I will admit. I mean green hair? That alone is exotic enough, but that's beside the point. I had the displeasure of facing Benitsubasa and Haihane again after they nearly killed me during that special event Minaka placed on the four sector ashikabi. I already knew I would be the most targeted. For one, Higa has plenty of resources and sekirei to take on anything the other ashikabi threw at him. Mikogami was the same, especially with someone like Mutsu at his side. The more likely targets were Sanada and me, and I nearly died within the day. I survived, thankfully, with a few broken bones; however, they were important bones. For one thing, my vertebral column was broken, my right arm I believe, and some ribs. Benitsubasa hits very hard, that much is very certain. After recuperating, and getting punished by my sekirei; I can't believe they would punish a guy who was sent to the hospital. But I'm getting off topic once more. Toyo can be a little sadistic at times, but she means well. She's only sadistic to opponents and those she hates, but when it comes to me and her family, she's kind and caring. Toyo and I got along great; we already had a good understanding of each other after just day one. Our time together was during that beach trip we all took. I gave her a massage and everything. She definitely enjoyed it, seeing as she screamed loud enough to wake the entire hotel. I'm glad my room is soundproof now, although I think Toyo may be able to bypass even that. Either way, I love her all the same.
Chiho is just as precious to me. She was sick her entire life and forgot all about her parents really. When I met her, she took a liking to me immediately. I took a liking to her as well, especially trying to get her used to walking. She could barely stand at times because she was so weak, but she progressively got better. Watching her was like watching my own daughter trying to walk for the very first time. She's so kind too, although I could tell she picked up a little something from Uzume. Thankfully, it wasn't the walking around naked business, which even now I am adamant she never picks up. I made a rule just in case that when Chiho or anyone else is around, the girls cannot be in anything less than a top, underwear, and some jogging pants at least. Shirt, underwear, and pants are mandatory, or I will have to resort to punishment for trying to corrupt my daughter. Anyway, Chiho is a great addition to the family; I didn't want her to stay behind when things got rough. Now that I know I was right on my instincts, I'm glad I sent her away with my parents and auntie before it was too late. I can't help but wonder how they are all doing. Hopefully they reached my brothers and are safe.
I love my sekirei and adorable daughter to death if it hasn't been mentioned for the millionth time. Even though the sekirei will die if I die, I would still give up my life to protect them. I have Aki to thank most of all, because without her, the rest might not have appeared. She's also the most unstable in my opinion; she would have nightmares and beg for my comfort. Aki was terrified, scared that I would abandon her like she was long ago, but now she knows full well that I would never do that. I would never abandon her, the sekirei, my daughter and my friends. They mean a lot to me and I really don't want to lose them, any of them. And for their support, loyalty, and love, I wish to thank each and every one of them, starting with Jason and his team, all the way to Akira…I mean Minato and his fiancée. I do wonder what ever happened to them. According to Minaka, he spoke to Minato ahead of time and convinced him and his fiancée to leave.
Speaking of Minaka, I finally found him underneath that pile of rubble. I found him, Matsui, and Natsuo. Matsu and Natsuo came alive, but Minaka on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. I couldn't believe my eyes at first; he was truly dead. His blood was covering his face and he looked compressed from being crushed by all the debris. To say he's bruised is a huge understatement. To think the CEO of MBI, the man I raised a team against, is dead before my eyes. I don't know what to feel. Should it be joy that the madman is dead, or should there be some remorse? I honestly have no idea, but the surprised look on my face is enough to say I didn't see this coming.
I looked at Matsu and saw her still unconscious. Lying her gently on the floor, I gave her a checkup. She suffered some serious injuries, but she'd be okay. I'm no expert at medical treatment but I know my basics. I patched her up as best as I could, hoping Uncle Clyde can take care of the rest. I gave Matsu a kiss on the forehead and tried to pull Natsuo out, but he was in even worse shape than Matsu. Pulling him out of the rubble, I could hear his groans of agony. He definitely broke some bones.
"Hang on Natsuo; I'll get you out of here," I reassured him. He couldn't respond, as he was most likely still in pain from me pulling on him. I laid him on the floor and tried to patch him up, but he stopped me for some reason. "Natsuo, we need to get you medical attention."
He gave me a weak smile. "It's no use."
"What?" I said flabbergasted. Why is he saying this? "Natsuo what are you talking about? What do you mean it's no use?"
"Ren," he spoke softly. His body trembled in pain. I could see blood trickling down the side of his lips and gasped audibly. It grabbed Kai's attention and forced him to rush over to his cousin.
"Natsuo! You okay?!" He questioned.
"I found him buried underneath the rubble," I explained. "If we don't get him medical treatment now, he won't make it."
"Then we need to move," Kai stated.
"NO!" Natsuo managed to get out a loud yell. We jumped in surprise and faced the severely injured man, who stared up at the destroyed ceiling with a serious look on his face. "Don't move me; it will only make things worse."
"No way; we're getting you out of here," Kai demanded and kneeled to grab his cousin.
"Move me and I'll never forgive you," Natsuo declared venomously. For a guy sustaining many severe injuries, he can still show some authority, but he suffered from it by groaning in the intense pain. Kai stopped in his tracks and frowned deeply by how his cousin was acting.
"Natsuo; we can't afford to waste time," he responded just as venomously.
"I know, but that's not why I'm being stubborn," Natsuo said. We waited for him to continue. "I'm being stubborn, because I want the fight to end without causing unnecessary movement on my part."
"Fight?" Kai spoke up first. "What fight are we talking about?"
I took a guess. "The fight between Karasuba and Musubi, correct?"
He nodded wordlessly and faced me.
"I know it's pointless trying to intervene, but let me ask you this; say I were to perish right now and the fight remained inconclusive, how do you think both our sekirei would feel?"
"Well, I'd imagine both would be really disappointed and angry," I answered. The Discipline Squad's ashikabi nodded his head and went back to staring at the ceiling.
"That's right; and I know Karasuba pretty well. Can you imagine how angry someone like Karasuba would be if her greatest fight is interrupted because she died due to some inconvenience?"
I could see it, and it terrifies me just doing that.
"You do have a point," I agreed.
"Bullshit!" Kai yelled. "There's a war going on, and you two are worried about inconveniences? First of all, if you do die Natsuo, what about Beni and Haihane? Not only would we lose Karasuba, but the entire Discipline Squad, which would decrease our power by a great margin. So, if we manage to keep you alive and Karasuba manages to lose this fight, we'll still have Beni and Haihane to keep up the front lines. That seems like a much better plan than just letting you lie here and die."
This round definitely went to Kai, who glared at his cousin.
P.O.V Change Kai
I'm standing here with Ren as we speak to my badly injured cousin. He's being stubborn again and it's really pissing me off; I can't believe he's just going to take this without careful consideration. The fight between Karasuba and Musubi has been going to go on for a while, but on the chance that Karasuba loses, at least we'll have Beni and Haihane there to keep up the attack. That's a whole lot better than losing all three of them, but my cousin isn't thinking clearly to see that. So he doesn't want to move? Fine. I can still save him, but he needs to be able to stay alive long enough to receive the treatment.
"I'll be right back then," I stated and walked to the door, well I should say the big gaping hole where the wall and door used to be.
"Where are you going?" Ren asked me. I turned my head slightly.
"To get Natsuo some help. At this rate, he's going to die so I'm going to bring one of the doctors and have them fix up my cousin. If he can hold out until I return, my plan will work, but if I'm too slow."
He pushed the hilt of his sword up and revealed a part of his blade.
"I'm going to wreck some shit. But I'll be back."
I sprinted out the room and through the building. I faced forward and didn't look back. When I made it out, I drew my blade and hacked away at any enemy who stood in my way. I didn't try taking them all on, just the ones in my way. I couldn't waste any time. My cousin is in danger and wasting time is not an option. I wasn't going to let my cousin die, not when there's a chance of saving him. So I ran. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me; and it wasn't easy obtaining the speed I now possess. Years of hard training, putting my life on the line to survive, it does wonders for a person, if they manage to survive that is. I didn't give Ren, Ryan, and Jason those training weights for nothing. I've put on weights five to ten times more than they did and they put on a hundred each. Let me explain something; a thousand pounds is a bitch, that's all I need to say. It's a bitch, but I did it. When I took those things off, I was amazed how light I was. It was as if the air fused with me. I could run at incredible speeds and worked even harder to increase it until I couldn't anymore. Speed is a virtue as they say and it's my best virtue, besides my obviously cute looks.
My feet glided flawlessly over the rocky terrain, the wind blowing hard in my face and hair, my trusty Storm swinging elegantly and fiercely through the air with lightning chirping like birds and smiting the bastards I fight. I had to run faster, even faster. I found my four sekirei unconscious and my cousin on the verge of death; I am NOT about to lose them.
I burst through the door, literally, of the medic office, scaring the hell out of the three doctors present.
"No time, need help now!" I grabbed the closest doctor, who just happened to be female, the medical kit, carried the doc bridal style with the kit in her arms, and hauled ass out of the building. I ignored the screams of the female doctor, who held onto me as if her life depended on it. "I apologize for scaring you, but everything will be explained when we get back to my cousin. So just hold on and don't let go of that kit or me."
She didn't need to be told twice and braced herself for anything. I leaned forward to pick up more speed and dashed back to where Ren and Natsuo waited. Since I'm carrying someone though, I can't fight or defend the doctor; however, I already knew of a way around that. I still haven't mastered it, but I can still use it pretty well. I had to create some copies of myself to combat the enemy. They backed me up and got me to my destination with the doctor intact. Now I needed to traverse through the building and find Ren again, but I felt like I was running out of time. A bead of sweat rolled down the side of my face.
"Hold on Natsuo; I'm almost there."
P.O.V Change Ren
It's been about twenty minutes since Matsu woke up, and since then, I have not let her go once. She's been in my arms, enjoying my embrace for the longest, and hasn't relaxed her hold. I showered her cheeks with soft kisses and let her ride on my back since she couldn't move her injured legs. She snuggled her head against the nape of my neck and/or shoulder, keeping her arms wrapped tightly around my neck.
Natsuo was still in pretty bad shape; he talked less and mostly remained quiet to preserve his strength. Matsu did her best, despite her injuries, to fix him up. She lessened his pain she told me, but all she could do is keep pressure on his wounds so he wouldn't die of blood loss. If it kept him alive much longer for Kai to return with help, that was good enough for me. Speaking of Kai, he has yet to return, but knowing the speed at which he can travel, he should be back soon. I tried to wake his sekirei, but neither of them responded. How long are they going to stay in that state? And just how big was that ambush that caused all this? I didn't want to ask Matsu for details yet, as I preferred she rest up for the time being. When she's in much better condition, I'll try and ask her.
When my brain-type woke up, she was very scared and immediately wanted comfort. I can tell it all happened so fast and she didn't have time to register things before her world collapsed. Now that she's awake, all that adrenaline hit her at once and frightened her. Her glasses did break so she's using her natural eyesight, which isn't bad at all. I think she looks beautiful without her glasses on; she has really pretty eyes.
"Ren," Matsu spoke weakly. "Let me see how Kai's sekirei are doing. Bring me to them."
I did as she requested and gently let her slide to the floor for her to give Kai's sekirei a checkup. I followed her instructions, like flipping the girls over for Matsu to check their crests. However…Matsu grabbed my arm and squeezed it hard. I never knew she had such a strong grip.
"Ren," she whispered. "Take Yahan and Saki and lay them beside Natsuo. Leave Namiji and Natsu here."
"Why?" I asked back.
"Just do it," she whispered again. "And whatever you do, don't mention a thing to Kai. He'll figure it out on his own."
I could hear how soft her voice sounded and ended up complying. Doing as she said, I placed Yahan and Saki by Natsuo, who looked at me in confusion. I just shrugged my shoulders, unaware of Matsu's plan. Matsu took her place on my back again and whispered what happened in my ear. My eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets when she told me.
Before I could say what she repeated, Kai burst through the door with one of the doctors in his arms. He wasn't even panting and stared at us with a worried look on his face. I ushered him towards Natsuo, who again, looked around in confusion. The female doctor immediately got to work on Natsuo while Kai approached Matsu and me.
"How are things going?" He asked. I was speechless, as was Matsu. She tightened her hold around my shoulders and rested her forehead on my shoulder. Kai stared with narrowed eyes; he was onto us. "You're hiding something."
I turned to Matsu, who just nodded her head without looking back. I stepped out of the way and revealed how Saki and Yahan were moved while Natsu and Namiji remained in the same spot. I saw his head turn to the latter two and rush to their side.
"What happened?"
"I checked to see how they were doing," Matsu spoke up. "I figured they must be close to waking up, but when I checked Natsu and Namiji, they have already ceased functioning. They're dead Kai."
Everything turned silent. I didn't want to speak, Matsu fell asleep, coincidentally, and Natsuo was getting fixed up to say anything. I watched Kai and saw him kneeling beside his fallen sekirei. He was trembling and gripping his sword tightly with one hand. I can tell it's taking everything for him to stay calm, but with the way he's shaking, I say it's highly unlikely he won't stay calm for long.
"Mr. Zonin?" the female doctor spoke to me.
"I have done the best I can for Mr. Ichinomi. He's going to be fine, provided he doesn't suffer any more injuries; he's quite lucky actually his cousin got me here in time when he did. However, I'm afraid if he suffers any more damage, he will die."
She narrowed her eyes at that last part. I nodded back to her, but then there was a loud crash that shook the place. The doctor leaned against me as I studied the situation. The crash just came out of nowhere. Then I heard it, the sound of birds chirping and feel an electrifying sensation tingling down my spine. I turned my head, but could barely register the speed that dashed passed me. Kai vanished from his spot and already the place shook again. The tremors caused more debris to fall. I needed to act fast and pulled off an old trick of cloning. Together, we moved everyone out of the building, Minaka, the sekirei, Natsuo, and the Doctor; my clones and I got the hell out there.
When we made it out, lightning bolts filled the island and struck every person holding a gun, as far as I could tell anyway. The hard part was dodging, because the bolts literally hit everywhere. We had a hard time maneuvering through the field; I was struck at least once and the pain was just excruciating. That was the first time I've been struck by lightning, even when training with Kai, I never suffered a thunderbolt attack, but now that I have, I hope it never happens again.
"Finally!" I cried as my clones and I burst through the door of the weaponry room, the place where my uncle waited. We surprised him and set everyone down. He took a good look at everyone and started to panic about Kai going off and rampaging through the island. He was in deep fury, but at least he still had sense to aim for the enemy only. I had to explain everything to my uncle, including Minaka's death, which surprised him the most. Uncle ended up hitting the control panel and cause a widespread assault from the laser in the sky. At least it took out a squadron of enemy soldiers in the process.
We couldn't dwell on the news for long though. Placing Minaka and the two fallen sekirei beside Takami and Takehito, the doors burst open once more and a loud scream entered out ears.
"NATSUO!"
That was definitely Benitsubasa's voice. Who knew she could be that loud? Anyway, I turned for a second and already Benitsubasa hoisted me in the air by the collar and glared at me.
"What the hell happened? What happened to our surrogate brother and our ashikabi? Tell me!"
"Put me down first," I demanded. She dropped me on my butt and tapped her foot impatiently as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Well? Spill it!" she yelled. I explained the story to her and Haihane, who helped me stand. Benitsubasa's face contorted into more rage; her clenching fists were a dead giveaway. She didn't even wait for me to finish before rushing to her ashikabi and giving him a quick kiss on the lips and running out into battle again.
"That hothead," I sighed irritably and pinched the bridge between my eyes. "Haihane; I need you to get back out there as well. I was about to have Benitsubasa do this, but you're just as great. Help with the rear if you would please. With most of our heavy hitters out front, our backs could use some reinforcements so I need you to join the backline and provide support."
"Yes sir," she saluted.
"As for Kai, just leave him be; he's still in control of himself, but it is suicide to stop him now. We'll keep Natsuo safe so don't worry about him either," I reassured her. She nodded back and rejoined the battle. I followed up on my advice and had one of our frontline people, including an elemental user, Akitsu to be specific, go to the rear and strengthen the blind side. I didn't change much, or more like I couldn't, because the front would be weakened. Since Namiji and Natsu are gone, we've lost some strength so I took measures to reinforce it. With Haihane and Aki helping the rear, our blind side is going to be hard to bypass. An enraged Benitsubasa and Kai took part in strengthening the front so that's going to be even harder to overcome. We've strengthen both sides so our defenses were basically impenetrable and offenses were incredibly strong. Things progressed smoothly if I do say so myself, but our losses won't be in vain.
Now the part that irritates me; Musubi and Karasuba. Why the hell did this have to happen now? I mean Karasuba couldn't have waited to challenge Musubi? In case they didn't notice, there is a big war going on and they're trying to settle a promise they made long ago. I'm a man of my word and keep my promises so I can understand how important this is for them; the loveable and loving Musubi trying to get her point across the more power/strength aficionado and loveless Karasuba. A battle of ideals and beliefs, a great fight in my opinion. However, why the hell did it needed to be done right now when we're fighting who knows how many countries? Not only that, but I'm positive Musubi knocked me unconscious when I protested against her fight, but can I be blamed? I'm just trying to end this war so they can actually settle their promise, once again, things just don't go my way. Now there's nothing that can be done and so there was no other option except let them go at it, but it's been hours and a winner still hasn't been declared.
I'm watching them right now and my heart is pounding from the intensity. Both Musubi and Karasuba were beaten pretty badly. They were on their last leg, and even so, they could barely stand. I can't hear their conversation, as it just distracts, but I could still see the huge smiles on their faces. I couldn't tell who was winning really, but I'm still putting my money on Musubi. They were doing this duel style from the way they stood across from each other. Karasuba had her sword gripped tightly with both hands while Musubi called on Yume's light powers, which again, she has not fully mastered. Considering her condition, Musubi's, it's safe to say this is the end of the bout. One last attack to finish it all, no interruptions, cheap tricks, or inconveniences. Just two warriors putting everything they have left into one last strike. Now the question is who will emerge victorious.
I didn't take my eyes off the battle for even a second. I saw Musubi take a step forward and Karasuba follow. Then, a blast of smoke erupted and the two dashed at one another. Fist collided with metal before the sekirei ended up on opposite sides with their backs facing each other. Nothing happened at first, making me feel very anxious. I waited patiently for one to fall, the anxiety tying my stomach into knots.
Suddenly, blood spurts from all over Musubi's body, which fell slowly, but she caught herself and stood on one knee. Karasuba on the other hand, loses the accessory holding her hair together and her sword suddenly breaks into pieces. The Black Sekirei falls to the ground and doesn't move again. Musubi, who could only turn her head, somehow faced the camera and smiled wide at me before collapsing on the floor. Immediately, I rush out there and had a clone assist me in carrying the bodies. After Uncle Clyde gave them a checkup, he turned and faced me with a passive look on his face.
"So what's the verdict?" I asked him. He stared at me for a couple of seconds with that same passive look. Was it good news, bad news, great news, or horrible news?
"I've worked alongside Karasuba and the Discipline Squad. I've seen Karasuba's power firsthand and thought no one could beat her except for sekirei no.1. So when I say I'm surprised, I want you to know that I'm so speechless I can't even show the right expression," he explained.
"Okay? What does that have to do with anything?" I asked back. Uncle just sighed and shook his head.
"Ren, your sekirei just beat Karasuba," he stated finally. My mouth dropped slowly until it lay completely agape. Did I just hear him right? Musubi defeated Karasuba? Is he serious? "Yes, Musubi just defeated Karasuba."
He then let out a sigh.
"Unfortunately, she too didn't make it."
I gasped loudly. "What?! She didn't make it? But."
"She suffered way too much damage," uncle said. "She managed stay alive long enough to ensure she won the fight, but ultimately, it took its toll on her. Both have ceased functioning."
I couldn't believe it. Well actually I can; it does seem like the way Musubi might go out. She fought valiantly and I am very proud of her. As I gazed at her cute face, I wiped off the blood and sweat. I then placed a soft kiss on her lips and caress her cheek with my finger. My adorable fist-type sekirei, she won't be forgotten. It's a shame though, I had a few names for a child we might have conceived in the future. I could definitely see us having a son, who's so energetic and spirited. I think a good name would've been Isamu, as it means courage, which is something Musubi has a lot of. But, she's gone now. It pains me to lose her, but at least she died knowing her greatest rival was defeated by her hands and that their promise has finally been achieved. I'll miss her. I gave her one last kiss and said my farewells.
"Thank you Musubi; I'll always be proud to call you my lover and sekirei. We'll win this war for you and everyone other ally that has fallen. I'll always love you, for now, and forever."
My uncle, and everyone else who heard me, clapped their hands at my farewell. Now we've lost Karasuba and Musubi, making it a total of seven people: Takehito, Takami, Minaka, Natsu, Namiji, and now Karasuba and Musubi.
Although I've helped established a good front, even the best defenses has a weak point. We kept the odds in our favor for majority of the battle, but there were times when it was us who were pushed back. It's not surprising to be honest and we've continued to push back even harder. There's no way we're going to lose, not after we've lost some valuable members. Takami and Takehito were the first to go. This was within the first week of the war. I thought I was going to be next. I could see my life flashing before my eyes at an alarming rate, but I managed to survive, albeit suffer a few shots and blasts, but I'm still alive, unless I'm dead and watching this from an entirely different perspective.
"I can't believe it's been four months since we started," I said aloud. Matsu was the first of the group to respond. It was just us, Yahan, Saki, and my uncle. The latter and sekirei were resting and Matsu is the only one listening. Hard to believe it's been four months since this war started. It seemed like it was just yesterday when Minaka announced the news and chose a select few groups to join him. I will say that he made the right choices; he took the best with him, but still left home with a powerful defense force. I haven't thanked him for the choice, but I can't do that now… since he's dead. It's been four months since he turned up dead. We lost five people that day; Minaka, Natsu, Namiji, and even Karasuba and Musubi. We lost them.
Kai was very angry the rest of the day two of his sekirei died, but when Yahan and Saki awoke from their slumber, he nearly crushed them in a giant hug. I almost crushed Matsu and Benitsubasa would've killed Natsuo if he didn't warn her ahead of time. We nearly lost Natsuo that day as well, but Kai came to the rescue. Since then, the group has been recovering. Matsu was kind of traumatized. She was so scared now that she spent all her time holding my arm, afraid of letting go at all. Matsu showed great courage the entire time, but when she really came close to death, she lost that courage and hated being too far apart from me. Every night, I would have to cradle her in my arms and sooth her to sleep. I didn't mind doing it though; she rewarded me with plenty of hugs and kisses anyway. Right now, we're watching the battle ensue once more.
"Yeah, it's been a very rough time," Matsu rested her head on my shoulder and held my left arm tight. "But we're still in this. I have been thinking of a strategy, but I don't know if it'll work."
"Let me hear them," I told her. She shook slightly and held my arm tighter. I wrapped it around her and held her close, planting a soft kiss on the top of her head. She calmed down a little and sighed a breath of relief.
"Sorry," she apologized quietly. "I've been in so many close spots that the adrenaline is hitting me all at once. I've nearly died about ten times the past four months and now I'm getting restless."
"It's okay. I understand; I've almost died several times myself, but I wonder what happened with you. Before, you were all in that sexy solider outfit with guns blazing, and now you've reverted back to fragility mode," I teased with a chuckle. Matsu gently elbowed me in the side.
"Don't make fun of me; at least I know how to use a gun," she retorted.
"Yes, but who's the one that can learn something in the span of an hour? Last time I checked, I was pretty much a badass with that gun and flashbang combination," I stated. Matsu shook her head and typed away on the keyboard. Now I can pick something up faster than a lot of people, but I will never be able to match the speed at which Matsu can type. She puts hackers and programmers to shame.
"On to more important matters, one of my strategies is to increase the power of the satellite and try to get the enemy to retreat. By doing that, I can focus on the troops at home and give them support. We'll drive the enemy out and regain better ground, then our military leaders can advance and finish things. That's the one I want to use; however, the downside to it is we'll need to wait longer intervals since building up more power takes a longer charge period. By then, we might lose the momentum and risk being overwhelmed again.
"Yeah that would be a problem, but what about our units? Won't they be caught by the crossfire?" I pointed out, but Matsu simply smirked and kissed my cheek.
"Oh my wonderful ashikabi," she sighed with a somewhat taunting grin. "You forget that I am an expert markswoman. I can fire at coordinates that won't harm our units in the slightest."
"If you say so," I responded and watched Matsu get to work. Our units have been working their asses off. We kept the frontlines strong and backup just as strong. We were about to put Matsu's plan into action and if it works as she says, we may put an end to things, hopefully.
It was turning nighttime and no enemy appeared during the night. However, we all agreed that it's possible for sneak attacks so there was always SOMEONE watching to make sure about enemy reinforcements. That's my job now. I watched vigilantly at the monitors, keeping a sharp out for the enemy. Everyone else was sleeping soundly in different areas of the island, but when a large area of softness pressed against my back, I knew I wasn't the only one up. Although, it would be great if the sekirei were disturbed during their sleep, because grumpy sekirei equals rage, which equals a very, very, VERY bad encounter for the enemy.
"You should be sleeping Kazehana," I said softly. She kissed my right cheek in response.
"I came to see how you were doing," she whispered in my ear and wrapped her arms around my neck from behind. "I've missed you so much."
I felt her kiss my cheek again.
"I've missed you too," I responded and let her plant kisses on my neck and cheeks. I patted the spot on my lap. "Come sit here."
She happily sat on my lap and rested her back against my chest and her head in the nape of my neck. I rubbed her stomach affectionately; she wasn't pregnant still, but she likes it.
"So you're stuck with watch duty," she sighed blissfully. "I say you should stay here for the rest of the battle. I don't want you getting hurt."
"I'll be fine," I kissed the top of her head. "I'm reckless, not stupid."
"True, true," she giggled back. "But that recklessness alone is what scares me."
"It hasn't before," I pointed out and typed on the keyboards. I wanted to see how things at the home front are progressing. Kazehana settled on standing behind me and massage my shoulders as I worked. She would occasionally resume her kisses on my neck and cheek, but she'd get a little bolder and hug my head, which the back of pushes into her cleavage. At least I'm used to it now.
When I saw how the home front looked, I was actually amazed to see how quiet it was. Well it is very early in the morning so I can see why it's quiet, but that worries me, as it could also be the time to strategize while the enemy sleeps.
"Kazehana; I think it's time for you to return to your position. Get some rest okay?" I requested. She didn't respond in any way, leaving me in silence. I twisted the chair around and saw the hurt look in her eyes. "What's the matter?"
"Am I bothering you?" She asked back. I shook my head no.
"Of course not Kazehana; I'm just saying I want you rested and prepared to fight."
"I want to spend some time with you before we resume. Hearing about all the times you got hurt and nearly killed, I wanted to see you at least once to make sure you're all right. I'm worried about you so I think I deserve to stay here for a bit longer," she spoke back sternly. Experience has taught me never to argue with your lover, but since when I have ever learned to listen to something? I do understand her concern, that much I will agree, but it's easy for me to get distracted and we certainly can't have that. Although, we have alarms that will notify me, but I'd rather see the attack coming ahead of time rather than wait…ugh! This is giving me a headache! I hold my arms for Kazehana and watch as she dove into my embrace. We watched the monitors together and I caressed her during the watch. There were no enemies or other signs of attack. Even back home, the place remained silent. Maybe I'm just overreacting, but I'd rather be cautious than careless. Kazehana could sense that cautiousness and took hold of the hand rubbing her stomach and squeezed it.
My worriedness was blatantly showing and the girls hated it when that happens. I can't help that I'm such a worrywart; it's just how I am. I mean I have to plan for basically every possible contingency and have to take major risks most of the time. I can't afford to get distracted and need to focus on the task at hand; it's pretty much the only thing keeping me sane at this point. I'm dangerously new to this whole war thing and seeing the exact same thing happening, minus our ally deaths, for four months straight is messing with me psychologically. It's like I'm stuck in a never-ending loop; the sun would rise, we'd prepare, the enemy shows and the fights starts, I remain with a small team and provide support and guide, then the sun lowers and enemy numbers dwindle, pretty soon the moon starts to rise, and finally, things slows down and everyone rests for the next fight. I've seen it millions of times already and can't take much more; I sometimes go out to get some air, but the scenery remains the same every single time. And if I'm going crazy, I can only imagine how Jason must feel.
"Ren," Kazehana's hand landed on my cheeks and forced my head to look into her eyes. How long was I stuck in a trance? I was thinking so long and hard that I didn't even noticed my name being called. I blinked a couple of times and then returned the kiss Kazehana placed on my lips. "Darling you need to calm down; I can feel your anxiety like no tomorrow."
Another sigh escaped my lips as I wrapped my arms around Kazehana's waist and hugged her.
"Sorry about that; I'm starting to lose it. It's just so nerve-wracking seeing the same things over and over again. I feel like I'm about to lose my mind," I confided in her. I buried my face in her cleavage and felt her fingers run through my hair. It was one of the things my sekirei let me do, just rest my face in their cleavages and allow them to comb my hair with their fingers. It was soothing and I could really use it now. Kazehana is right though; I do need to calm down. I'm thinking too hard again and it's clouding my mind.
"Sorry Kazehana; I'm stressed out," I raised my head and kissed her lips. I moved my hand up to her cheek and deepened our kiss; it's been a while since I kissed one of my sekirei so passionately. Well Matsu has been here so we'd spend a minute or two kissing, but it's been a while since I've kissed another one of my sekirei so passionately. When we get back home and everything returns to normal, I know what I'm doing with the girls.
I slid my hand down her shoulder and caressed one of her large breasts, eliciting a soft moan from her lips. It's definitely not the time to be doing this, but this may be my only chance and hey, Kazehana doesn't mind one bit.
If Kazehana's wings didn't wake up anyone, her muffled moans would. She became passionate with her kisses, unable to stay apart for even a second now. I have to hug her to catch my breath and she makes that hard because my face is held by her hands. I can't even get a word of protest out, but we needed to end things, so I ended up poking her crest to stop her. Needless to say she was pretty upset.
"I want to kiss you more though," she pleaded with puppy eyes. I shook my head in defiance.
"Not right now Kazehana; we need to focus, you need to rest, and I need to keep watch."
I lifted her chin with my fingers.
"But listen; I promise when everything is over and we're safe and sound back home, I will let you unleash all the desires you've been holding, but now it's time to focus. I want to do more, but my focus has to be somewhere else right now, understand?"
She nodded wordlessly and gave me a depressed face. I gave her a chaste kiss on the lips and rubbed her stomach again.
"Think of our future child; we can't conceive him or her if we don't focus on victory, right?"
"Right," she said softly. I caressed both of her cheeks and held them in my hands.
"I really appreciate you coming to see me though. It's been a long battle for all of us and you have no idea how happy I am to see the rest of you still alive. Kazehana, you've always been there for me and I plan to pay you back with a hundred times the love. You're strong, sweet, incredibly beautiful, and a fantastic woman; I don't ever want you to think I'm not thinking about you, because I'm thinking of you every minute of every day. I understand you've built a lot desires, but now is not the time to satisfy them. We can do that and so much more when we return home; and I want you to remember Kazehana; I am very proud, grateful, and honored to be the ashikabi to a woman of your caliber and my love for you will never falter."
Remember when I said the girls dubbed my charming speech the 'Super Sexy Sweet Talk?' Well it just caused Kazehana to cry and make her hug me as tight as she could. She whispered nothing but 'thank you' and 'I love you' in my ear before giving me a deep and long kiss. She left soon after with a joyous smile on her lips. I couldn't help but smile myself, but as I told her, it's time to focus. I cracked my knuckles and typed away on the keyboard. In order for Matsu's plan to work, the laser satellite will need a long while to charge.
Her plan went like this; we basically become Moses and split the sea horizontally, which will cause the ships to fall to the ocean bottom. Now I don't know if that's going to be possible or how long it will take the waters to fix itself, but the repair process will drown the fallen ships. That will take care of the enemy fleet in a good half hour to a full one give or take. The sky fleets are still my uncle's responsibilities so no worries there. Then, while the ocean fleets are recovering from the initial attack, we can have our elemental sekirei finish the job and be done in only a couple of hours if things go well.
After the air and sea battles are dealt with, it's time to focus on Shinto Teito. From watching the monitors, I can see that the home front has established a very good defensive setup. Now here's the tricky part; Matsu and I need to change the satellite to fire in a barrage mode with the same power as the splitting sea thing; however, that will leave our units without support for a good forty-five minutes, which is why I started a delayed timer that will automatically fire the laser when the ships arrive. If I'm right, and usually I am, the laser will hit at just the right moment to blow everything away. Then another timer starts immediately after, so while the elemental sekirei finish off the ships, the laser will already be charging for another shot.
Back to the plan, Matsu formulated where to fire the lasers so our units won't be caught in the mix. It's basically going to rain death and that will give our soldiers the opportunity to advance and overwhelm the enemy. Hopefully, they can find the leader, take them out, and secure victory. That's Matsu's plan, which she dubbed 'Zonin's Wrath.' I loved it and didn't want her to change it.
If this plan works, we may be able to claim victory and get the hell home. Who knows how long it will take to rebuild everything, but on a bright side, people can return home; however, there is the matter off MBI. What will happen to the place now that its CEO is dead? Another question I can't wait to see its answer.
"Okay, everything is set. Now all we have to do is wait," I said tiredly. Spending all that time with Kazehana has made me sleepy, but I couldn't sleep now. I still needed to watch the monitors for signs of trouble. I could wake up someone to take my place, but I'd rather not. The only way to keep awake is by working so I checked up on the areas the lasers were scheduled to hit and made sure there weren't any interference. I quadruple checked everything and found nothing wrong each time. I was so tired that I was typing away while my eyes closed, but then I felt a hand slap down on my shoulder and jolt me awake.
"What the?" I said and lift my head to see Uncle Clyde standing next to me.
"You've been working hard," he took the seat beside me. "I thought you would've been asleep by now."
"I was thinking about waking someone but decided not to; and I set up some things that needs my supervision," I yawned.
"You need to sleep," he stated sternly. Ever since we began fighting, Uncle Clyde has been stern with my decisions. I know he's worried about me and I worry for him too. If anything, he should be the one going insane; we sometimes discuss how our family is doing. When auntie comes up, uncle always pauses and looks at the ground with a dejected face. He seriously misses auntie and wants to see her desperately. Never once, have I seen uncle's face so dejected and void of glow.
"You'll end up hurting yourself if you keep this up," my uncle continued. I could really use the rest honestly, if the loud yawn wasn't any indication. "I'll look over your plans and fire them if you wake up too late. Don't worry; I got this all under control."
I smiled at his reassurance and took up on his offer. There weren't any beds in this area, but who would put beds here in the first place? So instead, we made little pallets on the floor to sleep on. They weren't the most comfortable, but this is war, as everyone keeps reminding me. There's no time for complaints about luxury. Anyway, I laid down beside Matsu, who instinctively turned over and wrapped her arms around me.
P.O.V Change Jason
Four months; that's how long we've been fighting. Four months; that's how long I've been watching. Four months; that's how long I've waited. Four months; that's how long it's been since we've heard about Minaka's death. We've just fended off the enemy for another day, but we didn't expect to hear that the CEO of MBI died in battle. Along with him, Takehito, Takami, and even Karasuba and Musubi died in battle. A couple of Kai's sekirei perished too and I could already tell how that went. I couldn't believe my ears when I heard the news. When I heard, I wondered how Miya would take the news about her husband. Speaking of Miya, I haven't seen her once ever since war was declared. I can't imagine where she might be, but I do hope she's safe.
While the soldiers, sekirei included, are fighting, the non-combatant people, meaning Mikogami, the remaining ashikabis, and myself, are watching everything unfold from MBI, where some of the troops escorted us so we'll be safe. Ryan isn't stationed here; he can fight and use guns so he's out there fighting. I wish I didn't have to say the same thing for little Kusano, but she's fighting too. I keep yelling she's just a little girl, but that wasn't enough apparently. I worry about her the most, but she's still going after four months of fighting. All that training she went through really paid off big time.
Over the four months, it's been hard to make conversation with the other ashikabi, especially the spoiled rich kid, Mikogami. He complained at times and annoyed the crap out of people, but even I have to admit he gave some pretty decent orders, decent. They're not like Ren, who is more calculating and accurate. Speaking of Ren, it's been a while since we last heard from them. He said they've set up quite the defense and offense. Knowing Ren, he set it up to where he can have strong hitters take the offensive route and have others make up the rear and cover the flanks.
One of the things that makes me angry with Mikogami is how he keeps referring everything as a game. In my mind, I keep screaming at him saying this is far from some videogame, but I know realistically, he won't listen and just ignore everything I say. I believe Ren tried to have this talk with him a while back but it didn't go so well. I can see why now. Thankfully, it's nighttime right now. I should be asleep, but I feel as if there's some outside force keeping me awake. I may just be going crazy though. I mean how many times have I waken up just to see the same thing happen every day? Still, I feel very compelled to stay awake.
I wish I had one my sekirei to talk to, but they're all down on the battlefield while I'm stuck in MBI. I at least wish to see Ikki again. She's been on my mind a lot these past months. I reached into my pocket and stared at the ring I gave Ikki a long time ago. Before she went to fight, she requested I hang on to the ring and give it to her again after everything is over. I've kept it ever since and watched her fight every time I saw her.
I looked through the window and up at the sky, seeing all the stars gathered in a frenzy-like pattern. I looked at them for about three minutes before I could see some twinkling stars. I raised an eyebrow in confusion as the twinkling continued at an abnormal rate.
"What the hell is wrong with the sky?" I asked myself. That's when I saw it, a great flash followed by a massive explosion with huge mushroom smoke rising into the air. The ground shook violently, even throwing me back. I could hear the surprised screams of the people in the room, but I was more focused on the series of explosions that smashed into the ground. All kinds of sirens activated. Next thing I know, I rush back at the window and gasped loudly as a bunch of missiles dove down towards us.
"EVERYBODY! TAKE COVER!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Everyone heeded my advice and tried to find cover; I hid behind the wall with a group of ladies. They were freaking out more and more as the ground shook once again. It felt as if the entire building was hit, because things just collapsed and fell down. I ended up holding two women for comfort as I shielded them with my Diamond Dax ability, but it wasn't enough. I braced for impact, holding the two women as tight as I could while whispering my own prayer with them.
P.O.V Change Ren
"Damn it!" I screamed and prematurely activated the barrage mode laser. I just received word that Teito suffered a missile strike. Well one missile is heading our way right now; however, someone was already on the case. Kazehana used her powers and made short work of the missile. When Matsu gave me the confirmation and new coordinates, I slammed a fist on the big red button.
"It's time I send you to Hell!" I screamed and fired the barrage laser. My uncle woke me up before the home front took too much damage and filled me in on the situation. I was livid, to say the least. Matsu was already on the job and put in a new set of coordinates, where the enemy base, their soldiers, and their leader was. Matsu was definitely pissed, which in turn made me pissed. I'm sure the same thing ran through our heads; no one bombs our home and gets away with it.
I turned that satellite into overdrive and watched it fire a multitude of lasers. Thank you monitors for allowing us to see such a beautiful display of red lights cascading down onto the earth and pelting the area Matsu put in for all of us to see. From what I could see, the reason why no one attacked at night is to perfect this missile plan and take over the home front while the chaos happened. In turn, the enemy will have our base and enough resources to put everything else in taking over the island. Well that's not happening anymore.
Matsu jumped up and down ecstatically as she cheered at the barrage laser. Things weren't over yet, but the lasers were making short work of every solider we could see. Nothing attacked the island yet so I could be right about taking the home front first and using everything else to overwhelm the island. Well that shit isn't happening. Breaking my thoughts, Matsu grasped my cheeks and turned my head to face her, planting a passionate kiss on my lips as she enjoyed the sight. She hugged me after the kiss and all of us, sekirei and humans watched the destruction unfold.
Uncle Clyde sent word that our allies need to advance immediately while we have the enemy contained. They couldn't leave their base, unless they want to suffer laser fire. Everyone was jumping for joy as we watched our units rush in and unleash Hell on the bastard enemies. They thought they had us, but oh no, they were so wrong. It's a great thing my uncle woke me when he did, because I needed to see this.
"Ren, want to send a message?" Uncle Clyde asked. I smiled wide and took the offer. I took a deep breath.
"Attention all enemy bitches! You thought you were sneaky with your little missile attack. Well I got news for you; we came prepared. So I just have one thing to ask."
Everyone joined me on this next part.
"WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK WE ARE?!"
Cheers echoed throughout the place. I received a massive tackle from my sekirei and laughed with them. The monitors haven't lied to us yet. We were pushing back the enemy dramatically. Even though they've killed a few of our soldiers, more just line up. Some started to retreat, but were gunned down before they could get too far. We never let up and progressed gradually until only few enemy remained. I'll never forget how the enemy leaders pleaded and begged for mercy, but were still gunned down by our units, who dropped their guns and screamed to the heavens in happiness. Once again, I couldn't believe my eyes. After four months of fighting, sweating, shedding blood, and probably crying, we have finally claimed victory. There were no more enemy soldiers left, the base was destroyed, and we have claimed victory.
However, I just realized the home front suffered missile strikes. I quickly switched to that channel, but things didn't look too bad. I mean, Teito took a pretty big hit, but everything was still intact.
"What the hell," I said perplexed. "Why is it like this?"
A soft hum filled everyone's ears. We turned and faced my uncle oddly enough and saw him humming with his feet on the table.
"You're not the only one who can program a laser satellite," he grinned wide at me.
P.O.V Change Jason
When I heard what happened, I felt many things; shock, relief, flabbergasted, and incredibly happy. We had just received word from Ren and his uncle about the situation. When we heard those words, I thought I was dreaming. Many of us pinched ourselves to see if it was a dream, but when nothing changed, we knew it was all reality.
"We won," that's all Ren said. Those two words replayed over and over again in my head. Everything was silent, except for my gradually getting louder series of yes's. I repeated it over and over again until finally, I threw my fists in the air and screamed it as loud as I could.
"WE DID IT! WE WON! YES!"
People joined me in the cheer; I even received a little kiss on the cheeks from the two women I shielded.
"We won." I whispered in my thoughts. "We finally won."
Even though I didn't really do anything, I felt exhausted. When they gave us the word of confirmation, we all rushed down the building and outside, where the sun was just starting to rise. The place looked terrible, as there were debris, blood, bodies, everything; they were strolled all over the place. Some of the buildings were destroyed, the roads were split in many different ways, and many different smells polluted the air. But, we still came out victorious. People were hugging each other and crying tears of joy. I tried to find my sekirei, but couldn't spot any of them. Mikogami tried to do the same, but came up with the same results.
Suddenly, I could see many different shadows appear over the horizon. They slowly approached us before appearing must faster. I heard my name being called and next thing I know, I'm on my back receiving a big kiss from my fiancée, Ikki. She just came out of nowhere.
"Jason! We did it; we really did it!" she straddled my waist. Soon, the rest of my sekirei showed up. Well, except for Kuno and Shi. Those two died in battle unfortunately. I can't say I'm surprised, but I'll miss them. It may sound harsh, but I've lost a lot of people already. My little sister Sabrina, Yashima, Nanami, Takehito, Takami, Minaka, Karasuba, Musubi, and now Shi and Kuno. They will all be missed. If I could see Sabrina now, no doubt she'd be a very beautiful teenager.
"It's all over," I said after getting like twenty hugs from my sekirei. Kaho had to pull me up, which led her to be spun around as I hugged her tightly. "Finally! It's all over."
Ryan and his group of sekirei even returned. Kochou stayed with the strategists during the entire fight. And when she saw Ryan, she took off and greeted him with a great big hug and sealed it with a kiss on the lips, earning her permanent spot on his team.
We all saw the light in the sky, and I raised my hand up towards it. Everyone followed my move.
"The fight is done," I continued. "The war is won. Now lift your hands up to the sky and towards the sun."
It was a very long fight. We've lost a lot of people. In the end, we won the fight and type war. It's been cruel, but we managed to survive and come out on top. Now, with the enemy defeated and MBI in need of someone new to run, it's going to be a brave new world; and I'm I get to walk it with my friends, teammates, sekirei, and beautiful fiancée. Speaking of which, I reached into my pocket for Ikki's ring and showed everyone how courageous I am.
"Ikki; I know I've said this a million times, but I love you very much. If it wasn't for you, I doubt I would be here right now. We've been through this before, but it needs to be restated."
In front of everybody, the people, returning soldiers, and sekirei, I got on one knee and revealed the diamond engagement ring, earning multiple gasps from the crowd.
"Ikii, will you marry me?" I asked loud enough for everyone to hear me. Ikki looked speechless. She covered her mouth and tried to hold back the tears, but the dam burst and they fell down her cheeks rapidly. She nodded her head repeatedly and then held her hands against her chest.
"Oh yes! Yes, I will marry you!"
Like last time, I slipped the ring on her finger and we shared a loving kiss in front of everybody, causing a loud roar of cheers to fill the air.
As I said, it's going to be a brave new world. And my future wife, sekirei, and friends will walk it alongside me. As Ikki and I embraced one another, I looked up towards the sky once more and smiled wider. It's been a long time since I've said anything about her, but she knows what's been happening.
"We did it Sabrina," I whispered so only Ikki could hear. "And meet your new sister-in-law."
Ikki giggled and cupped my cheeks, staring deep into my eyes.
"Ikki Dax; I really like the sound of that."
I nodded in agreement.
"As do I," we leaned closer and shared one more kiss.
"I love you Jason," she announced.
"I love you too Ikki, my honey," I declared back. We shared a hug with the rest of my sekirei, my big and wonder family. I won't ever let them go.
"We love you Jason, for now, and forever," they stated. Even Homura joined in on the declaration.
"I love you all too. I'll never let you all go, for now, and forever," I responded with my signature smile.
