20 Things You Wish You Knew - Victoire

Her full name is Victoire Gabrielle Weasley, named for her Aunt and Godmother Gabrielle Delacour.

She was born on the second anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts. Her birthday always has an undertone of sadness, but the adults try to make the day more about celebrating their victory – including her birth – than a day of mourning. She appreciates this more than they know.

Teddy has been her best friend ever since she could remember. Even when she thought boys were gross, it never seemed to apply to him.

Victoire is the only Weasley-Potter child that never saw Teddy as her cousin. Looking back, she thinks she always had a little bit of a crush on him.

When she was sorted into Gryffindor, she was really scared that she was only there because that's where her whole family had been. It took her nearly a year to realise she was there because that's where she truly belonged.

While her best friend would always be Teddy, she became quite close to two Gryffindors in her year, Kristy McDougal and Ben Gough.

Victoire was always in the top 10 students in her year level, but prefers being outside, often taking her schoolwork out beside the Black Lake.

Like Teddy Harry was her hero, and he along with her Uncle Ron inspired her to become an Auror after school and work towards preventing another war.

As the eldest female Weasley-Potter she always felt protective of her cousins, and mentored them all, especially the younger ones, as they became teenagers.

When she was old enough, Victoire set aside time each week to take her sister and girl cousins out for coffee or to go shopping.

The thing she missed most whilst at Hogwarts was the Sunday lunches at the Burrow, and so she and Teddy spent every Sunday in the Room of Requirement instead, a tradition that was enjoyed by all of the Weasley-Potter clan during their time at Hogwarts.

She asked her Grandma Molly to teach her to knit at a young age, and by the time she was at Hogwarts was helping to knit the annual Weasley sweaters. She eventually took over completely when her Grandma got too old to do it herself.

The year Lily and Hugo started at Hogwarts Victoire decided to surprise her cousins at Christmas and knitted them all a beanie in their House colours with the House name and mascot.

Victoire inherited her grandmother's hospitality, and she was never happier than when one of her cousins or their children was at her house.

Even though she had dated other guys before him, Teddy was her first kiss. They were sitting in the orchard together one day when something prompted her to spill her feelings for him. She has never regretted it.

Even though he liked Teddy, Victoire had an argument with her father about whether or not she was allowed to marry him. Only when she reminded him that she was the same age as Fleur was when she got married did he give his blessing.

Victoire thought she could never be happier than when she married Teddy, but proved herself wrong three times – at each of the births of her four children.

She was the one who originally suggested they name Elijah after Harry, even though she knew Teddy would agree. She knew that he was just as much Ted's father as Remus was, and she was forever grateful to him for that.

Victoire loved her job, but loved caring for her children more, so she stopped working after Leilani's birth and didn't go back until Elijah had started school.

Like Teddy, Victoire was taught Quidditch from a young age, and played Chaser for Gryffindor from her third year at Hogwarts.

A/N. Ok, I know I've been away for a while, for various reasons ranging from a broken computer to my first semester at uni. But I'm on holidays now. Yay! Anyway, that means that hopefully I can update a bit more regularly for you. As per usual, let me know if there's a person/situation/theme you want to see here, and if there are any points in the "20 Things You Wish You Knew" chapters you want to see expanded on, by all means let me know :).
