HI everyone. Oh my goodness, how long has it been since I've updated? Like, what, months? Well, I'm am awfully sorry about that. I will try to update more consistently. Please enjoy this chapter.
"Winter," I stir at the familiar voice. "Winter, wake up. Please, wake up." Rin? I let my eyes slowly flutter open and I look to my right. Rin was there; right beside me.
"Rin," I say his name breathlessly. "How long have I been asleep?" I ask him curiously.
"A few days," he sighs and I catch his blue eyes. They looked tired and restless.
"When can I leave?" I ask. Hopefully, I can leave in a few days…
Rin's eyes soften. "Maybe today, finally." He says. His voice sounded a little hoarse. As if he hadn't used it in a few days.
I nod. Finally. My body felt heavy and sluggish due to all the sleeping I had been doing. "Shiemi…?" I ask.
"I apologized," he says softly, his head hung low. "I told her that it really wasn't her fault. Yuki slugged me one for making her cry, though." he admits, making me notice the small bruise fading on his cheek.
"Are you alright?" I ask worriedly. Rin grins and nods. "So...you're-"
"The offspring of Satan?" He finishes. I nod. "Yeah. Revolting, isn't it? As your dad said."
"He isn't my dad, Rin." I correct and Rin looks at me in confusion. "He may be my father but he is not my dad. He said it himself, remember? I am no longer his daughter in his eyes. Just a lowly human." I explain.
"He didn't mean it, Winter." Rin whispers and I look out the window.
"Anyways," I huff, changing the subject. "What are you training me for?" I ask.
Rin looks away, an ashen expression darkening his usual cheery demeanor. "I don't know. All I
know is that I'm suppose to teach you how to harvest your powers and help you mold them into something 'marvelous'." He says the last part in a bitter way.
"Do the others know?"
"They know about me, yeah. Though the whole white flames thing was a little bit more than a hint, though. They think you're like me."
"Aren't I?" I ask.
"No," he answers darkly. "You're not like me. Not at all. You're God's offspring not Satan's."
"Yes, but I have flames that engulf my body. A father whom I don't particularly favor, and I can speak to demons. Tell me, Rin, how is that any different from you?"
At this, he looks away. We sit there in an awkward, uncomfortable silence until, finally, someone comes and breaks away the dark feeling that hangs in the air.
"Rin? Is she awake? I heard voices." A sweet, timid voice calls from the other side of the door.
Rin sighs. "She's awake," he calls and the door immediately swings open. Shiemi enters, along with Bon, Shima, Yukio, and Miwa. After a few moments, the petite, violet hair girl enters also.
"Izumo! I thought you didn't want to come in!" Shiemi exclaims when she sees the girl enter.
Izumo looks away, her nose in the air, and blushes slightly. "Whatever. I just wanted to see if she had actually awakened after forever. I mean, she's been asleep for basically a month now. How long does a person have to sleep to heal? Even I could have healed faster than that and I'm not a demon spawn." She says and then blinks realizing too late that the phrase 'demon spawn' had left her mouth. Remorse floods her eyes and her she drops the arrogant facade. "I didn't mean-" She starts but I smile, cutting her off.
"It's alright, though I believe the person you should be apologizing to is Rin not me. You all are probably super curious why white flames suddenly erupted all around me, right?" I ask and the others just nod, all transfixed except Yukio. "Well, believe it or not, I am actually not like Rin, well not really anyways. My father decided to impregnate a woman with me due to the fact that she was supposedly very beautiful and had helped one of his wounded men. I was born with his powers just like Rin except I come from the other direction." I say, hoping they'll catch my drift.
"So," starts Miwa, "you're, like, God's daughter?"
I grimace. "Well, technically, yes." I admit, nodding my head.
"So, you're sort of like his arch nemesis?" Asks Bon.
I shake my head at his assumption. "Our fathers don't like each other, yes. But that doesn't mean that I can't be friends with Rin. Pus, after all, my father practically disowned me so he doesn't really have a say on who I'm friends with and who my arch nemesis is, right?" I ask, praying to I don't even know who to confirm my hopes.
Shiemi nods. "Right," she says with resolve in her tone. She offers a smile and I return it.
"Now what?" Asks Izumo. I shrug.
"I'm just waiting to be released. I want to start training soon."
"Training? Training for what?" Shima asks me curiously.
"For exorcism, you idiot. What else?" Rin interjects. He gives me a look telling me to shut it and I raise a brow at him. Why couldn't I tell them? They already knew about the flames. Why not this?
Shima rubs the back of his neck in embarrassment. "Sorry," he mutters and I give him a small smile.
"Alright Ms-" A voice starts and everyone turns towards the door. A young doctor with a clipboard was looking at me, dazed.
"Eyes on me," Rin's voice cuts through the silence like a sharp knife and I shiver at his icy tone. The doctor flits his eyes over to Rin before blushing slightly; embarrassed.
" , correct?" The doctor asks, looking at me. I could tell that he was trying hard not to let his eyes wander.
I bring the blanket up to my chin to stop him from temptation. "Yes," I squeak. Rin moves impossibly closer to me.
"How are you feeling?" The young doctor asks.
"I'm well enough. May I leave soon?" I ask.
"Yes," he confirms and I smile and sigh in relief. "Let me just check a few things and if everything is alright you may leave whenever you feel like it." He says, walking over to me. "I'm sorry, but will you all leave. It's sort of a doctor to patient thing. I'm sorry." He repeats and nods towards the door.
Rin doesn't budge. "Sir, please leave." The doctor says sternly.
"I'll be right outside," Rin warns and gets up out of his seat before reluctantly closing the door behind him; leaving me and the doctor all alone.
"Are you sure you're feeling alright?" The doctor asks once again, checking something on the machine.
I nod. "Yes. Fine." I say honestly.
The doctor nods. "I'm by the way." He says.
"Nice to meet you,"
I have no clue why I suddenly feel nervous. Like something bad's going to happen. Then, his hand slips and lands on my breast. I shriek and try to push his hand off but he keeps it there.
"Could you, I don't know, get your hand off me?" I ask, trying not to rip his hand off.
"Don't you like it?" he asks and I look up at him dubiously.
"What?"
"People usually enjoy a little sexual touches here and there after they've been in the hospital for a while." he explains. "You know, you're really pretty." he says and he drops another hand to my stomach. "I have to check for any bloating," he tries to excuse.
"Don't touch me. Get off!" I start to raise my voice.
"Shut the hell up!" he hisses at me and my head jerks when his hand comes down on my face. I'm stunned into silence.
He rips my shirt open with no effort whatsoever and tries to peel it off me.
"Get off me!" I yell when his hand unclasp my bra. White fire warms my body and I hear him scream, jumping off of me.
Rin bursts the door open and looks at me worriedly before he realizes I'm basically naked. A sob escapes my mouth as I duck under the covers. My shirt was basically torn in two and my bra was on the floor next to my bed. All I could hear was the man's terrible screaming.
"Yukio! Get him out of here! Now! Shut the damn door and make sure no one comes in here!" I hear Rin order before the whole room goes silent and the only thing you can hear is my ugly sobbing.
"Winter," He starts.
Okay! I'm sorry everyone but I must end it here! I have been working on this chapter for a while and I kind of tired. I know it has been such a long time since I last updated and I a so very sorry! I did warn all of you, though. In my Bio. Anywho, please tell me what you thought of this chapter and please tell me whether or not it is worth continuing. Thanks everyone! Bye!
