"Theres just one more problem"…..
"What is it?" I asked very worried.
"After the surgery Bella started breaking down in sweat and crying. So we checked her temperature. The thermometer came out 105.6. Apparently there's no fever but we don't know what caused such a high temperature. . Since she's young she'll have to be treated at the children's hospital in Brooklyn. At the Children's Hospital they'll take a blood and DNA test if that's ok with you and try to solve this mysterious sickness or viris. 105 isn't good at all. We don't want it to get worse." The doctor replied.
"Oh my God." I covered my face and cried. Percy hugged me and even he cried a bit.
"Can we see her?" Percy asked.
"Oh yes of course." The doctor said.
We walked into a room and found Bella asleep. She looked bad. Sweaty, sick almost lifeless. I was so scared. I sat down on the bed and hugged her. I hear her whimper. "Belle?" I said.
"Hi. Where am I. I wanna go home. Mom, dad?" Bella said in a whisper tone. Her voice cracked a bit. She bent over and gagged into a trashcan. Oh no. She started crying and more sweat dripped down her face. She looked pale. Percy touched her forehead and gasped. Then I felt it. She was burning but according to Bella, she was freezing. How does she not have a fever? A nurse entered the room followed by a doctor. They brought out a thermometer to see how she was after some sort of medication. A doctor's eyes grew wide as he examined the result. A nurse bent over to take a look and she gasped. Percy and I stood there waiting for the answer. The nurse looked at Bella then us. The doctor scribbled something down on a clipboard.
"I'm sorry but she's going to have to be taken to Brooklyn Children's Hospital immediately. She has gotten worse. We think she might be infected with something has she had any serious injuries in the past month? Has she ever had cancer or something? Or been around any sort of sick, infected people? Does she have a disability or disorder? Has she had any food poisoning sickness or alcohol?" The nurse asked so many questions.
"For god freaking sake she's 9!" Percy but in. I hit him. I looked at the nurse and replied,
"Um, no she just had a serious leg injury a month ago all shes had was the flu or fever. When she was 5 Belle was diagnosed with Dyslexia about a year later we found out she had ADHD also. Probably born with it because both Percy and I have Dyslexia and ADHD. But no cancer, hopefully never will. As Percy said, she's 9 and I would never let her have any type of alcohol or drugs. Ever." The nurse wrote down a bunch of stuff. Then she spoke again.
"What kind of injury occurred?" She looked up at me.
"About a month ago, she tripped over a glass and some go in her leg. There was much blood. She did have surgery but recently her stitches opened up and found out a piece od glass was still stuck and now her leg is broken. It was just very stressful." I explained.
"Ok thank you." And she left.
Percy and I sat down next to sleeping Bella and talked. A few moments later a doctor walked in.
"hello, we are going to send Bella over to Brooklyn immediately or it will get worse. An ambulance will u bring her there of course u guys will be there. " He told us.
We nodded. As soon as Bella was set to go the 'car' started down to Brooklyn's Children Hospital.
