Steve and Greg face the consequences of misplacing the Cactus

The two drones stood on the bridge, waiting. They had been down in one of the mines on guard duty, when the Warship had ordered them to return immediately. Neither of the two had any idea why they had been recalled. Only the oppressing silence of the Bridge gave them some insight.

The door hissed open. Somewhat joyful steps echoed before turning into clomping stomps.

"You two!" Hollered Commander (LORD! Gah, why won't you learn!) Starscream. He circled around the Vehicons, hands clasped behind his back. "According to my memory circuits, it was YOU two on whose watch my dear, cuddly, lil' cactus…" A loud sniff. "…disappeared."

Greg responded quickly: "Sir, it… It ran away. Our apologies, sir. We should've watched it more carefully."

"Run away, eh?" Lord Starscream said with a slight sneer, unclasping his servos and tapping his side.

"Yes, sir," Greg nodded. "Very unfortunate, sir."

"Then what do I have… here?" The Seeker growled, bringing the green plant into the drones' view. "Care to explain this?"

"Well… Uhn… Um..." Steve mumbled, restlessly shuffling on his pedes and gulping loudly. 'We're doomed.'

"A very obedient cactus, sir!"

"Huh?" The Commander (LORD!) and Steve stared at the third Decepticon.

"Yes, sir! You have trained it well!" Greg continued, nodding with each word.

"Well, uh…" The Seeker was at a loss of words. "Of… Of course I have! What kind of owner do you think I am?!" He said defiantly, bringing a servo to his chest proudly.

'We might actually survive…' Steve thought. 'Fancy that.'

Starscream turned around, radiating smugness and acting like a proud father. Without sparing a glance to the Vehicons he motioned them to disappear -fast.

Walking down the corridor leading away from the Bridge, Steve looked at his fellow 'Con. "How did you come up with that? I was sure we were goners."

Greg returned a confused glance: "What do you mean? I meant every word. Think of it; the Cactus came BACK! Though, it didn't bring that scrap pipe with it…"
