A.N.

Well... yeah. I haven't updated in a while, BUT I have an excuse! This chapter would have been complete and the last one of the story, but about two months ago I was REALLY sick and wasn't able to write for the better part of two months due to being on several medications and barely being able to move my fingers and barely able to think clearly most of the time.

So today I managed to get the chapter to a good place to end and did what editing I could. I'm upset that I have to break up the chapters, YET AGAIN, but this chapter is just over 10,000 words long so it should satisfy whoever does still follow this for now. I'm going to begin working on the last chapter sometime next week and hopefully have it done sometime in August.

Disclaimer: I obviously do not own Young Justice. If I did we'd be on season... what is it? 5 I think.

Additional Warning: This chapter is somewhat gory. If you're a bit squeamish then you might want to be careful. It doesn't get better either next chapter.

What can I do. War is war.

Dawn on the Two Suns Part 1

"In the dark shadows of night I stalk until the latest of hours

For shining gold and fearful powers

He fire blazes within me and my sword strikes keen

I will obtain peace in my world, for that is my dream

Now… fall before me and cower from my might

To me, my companions! Together we shall rid this world of war! Rangers Unite!"

Fire.

Fire was just everywhere.

It was as if someone had just set off an entire crate of TNT.

Zatanna hastily cast a shield around herself and a blurry of colorful fire blaze around it. Later she would remember being beautiful, the red, blue and green fire that surrounded her for nearly a minute.

At that moment though, she felt a pang of fear travel through her. If Agni didn't want to do something there was usually a reason for it and from what she could tell he did not want to use his full power.

Well it was at least going to be interesting.

Song: Monster- Skillet

Nightwing sighed as he felt a tug on his stomach. It was something he hadn't felt in a long long long time.

He felt his body shift through the folds of space and time, very uncomfortably aswell, when his eyes reopened he was on the other side of Abaddon's castle's courtyard, standing tall besides Cursed Shadow.

His eyebrow went up as he stared at his friend. His cloak was in tatters; his armor stained red with blood, that was probably not even his, could be seen glinting through. Agni's hood was gone, probably incinerated in the fire, leaving his tightly braided white hair flowing in the fiery inferno about them.

Around them the rest of the Rangers began appearing. Nightwing narrowed his eyes when he saw Todd and the new Rangers among them. They weren't true Rangers, they shouldn't have come to the call.

"This ends here…"

Richie looked over to his captain. Agni was kneeling on the ground, his two swords sticking into it in front of him. Nightwing caught his eye and gasped. Gold on black.

Agni slowly stood up. Slowly he gripped what was left of his cloak and tore it from his body, revealing his scratched dragon scale armor.

"You all have defied me long enough." Agni murmured, glaring at the sea of Drow in front of him.

Richie stepped forward and placed a hand on his best friends shoulder to hold him back. "You okay Shadow?" he asked cautiously

Nightwing felt himself being shoved to the ground by Agni as the enraged Draconian took a step forward, pulling his swords from the ground. Richie looked up dazed at his captain. If he knew anything for sure in this world, it was this was really not good at all.

"I… have… had… enough!" Agni screamed, suddenly dashing forward.

Richie slowly stood to his feet, knowing what was going to happen next didn't make it any easier to watch.

Cursed Shadow, void of any self-preservation, leaped into the nearest group of his kin with his arms ablaze with fire, one a dark purple and the other a bright red.

"I sacrificed everything for you!" Agni shouted, his swords casting a tornado of fire around himself. "And this is how you betray me?!"

"This is not good." Anna murmured, she had been attending to Wally when she also felt a tug at her stomach and was pulled back into the field. She had appeared next to Megg'n and Connie, dressed in her clerical battle armor.

She cast a hasty shield as a wave of fire blew near them, causing immense discomfort to Kal and Megg'n.

"I don't think I've ever seen him this angry." Bloody Arrow commented, firing an arrow into the mass of Drow and grinning as it went clean through three and exploding when hitting the fourth. He smirked and notched another arrow.

Richie sighed and glanced to his right to see Zatanna running up with Red Arrow, Sorif and Deathstroke in tow.

"Well I'll be damned…" Slade muttered as he watched his protégé screamed insanities and tearing through several Drow. "This hasn't happened in quite a while."

Zatanna watched worriedly at Agni as he fought back to back with the Belir inhabited clone. Belir had dark purple fire covering his clawed hands. He smiled maliciously as he grabbed a Drow by the throat and snapped its neck.

Orange appeared for a brief moment, stabbing two of his kunai into the neck of another Drow. He leaped off, his hands moving in a blur while he descended. A ball of fire appeared in between them when he landed. He cackled as he blasted it nimbly through several Drow, before inexplicably disappearing again.

Agni roared as he charged forward, sending a wave of purple fire before him. He spun in a pivot and sliced clean through a Drow's neck. He didn't even pause as he continued his step forward, jabbing his sword through the helm of another. He spun around, knocking away a blade with his buckler shield and stabbed his sword through the Drow's chest.

Batgirl floated up next to Nightwing with a worried look adorning her face. "Should we help him?" she asked

Nightwing shook his head and sighed before answering "Agni just released his vow. This is the first time in nearly thirty years I've ever seen him dare do that. He has a lot of aggression pent up."

"Why don't you guys do it more often?" Zatanna asked

"When we joined the Guild, some were worried we were to powerful." Bloody Arrow answered "Some thought we might try and take over so it would be better to just kill off and not have to deal with it later. As a compromise we all agreed to seal at least half of our power away, only to use it in dire situations and only with clear permission from one of the senior Guilders."

"So you're telling me that Agni only uses less than half is power at most times? And he is STILL more powerful magic wise then most of you?"

"In pure raw power? Yes. Though not in skill. Even at his best Agni can't compete with Richie and Roy in skill and Anna is leagues ahead of both of them." Batgirl responded

"If he was to train his skills in the magical art it would be… simply amazing."

Zatanna turned and glanced at who had spoken. It was a small person wearing a magnificent set of blue armor that looked oddly draconic.

"He has one of the most powerful magic levels ever recorded." Richie supplied. "He makes up for skill in raw power."

"Who is stronger than that?!" Sorif exclaimed, jabbing his finger at Agni who had just punched his fist straight through one of his kin and the without hesitation spun around and stuck his sword though another Drow.

There was a small crack behind them and Harry stepped forward "That would be me. Even before I became Sorcerer Supreme my magic level was so high it couldn't even be recorded."

"How high do you think it is?" Sorif asked curiously, his sword now gone and instead he was holding a quill and a small scroll.

Harry grinned, "Last time I tried to measure it we could only tell that is was over nine thousand."

Sorif nodded and scribbled quickly into his scroll. "That is awesome. Can I get a full story on that?"

"That is as high as our current scanners can go." Wade explained, ignoring the overly excited bard.

"Uh guys…" Bloody Arrow called "You are REALLY going to need to see this!"

Everyone turned to where he was pointed.

Inside the castle Iivdril was sprinting down the halls to Abaddon. She kicked open his door and stumbled in, gasping for breath.

"Don! They broke through the outer wall!" she shouted, glancing around the room frantically looking for her master.

In the center of the room Abaddon was seated in front of a small table that held a large basin of water. He absent mindedly waved his hand over it.

"Abaddon! This is your show! You know we cannot fail here!"

The half-demon looked up with a look of disinterest on his face. "Send everything at them. I'll deal with Agni when he gets here. This army is dispensable, it's just the Drow from the Brotherhood."

"There just got reinforcements! They are sending large metal missiles into the sides of the castle." Iivdril shouted "You need to go out there and go all out."

Abaddon waved his hand in dismissal "There is no such need." He replied "Everything is going as planned. Let the Rangers come to me."

The room around them shook

Abaddon smiled widely and flexed his demonic arm. "The prophecy is coming close… is it not?"

Iivdril nodded sullenly "You are going to kill him aren't you?"

The demon nodded as he stood up "I cannot fight all of them after they have released their vows. Even I am not that powerful, but I can take Agni alone. I'm going to tear the very flesh from his bones. That is what father wishes. He has seen the future and has deemed Agni too dangerous to live. We'll simply harvest his power from his rotting body. You can rejoice. This is what you wanted, is it not?"

Iivdril nodded again, refusing to meet his eyes.

"Smile, Ivvie. I'll even let you play with that little human girl of his."

Iivdril forced a smile onto her face and met his eyes "Nothing would make me happier.

"Fire Dragon's ROAR!"

Fire blasted from Agni's open mouth, consuming several Drow in its inferno. Screams of the dark elves where heard everywhere as Agni and Belir spread chaos.

Agni roared something incoherent as he flung one of his swords through the air, it jammed into the back of a fleeing Drow, dropping it to the ground.

"Nu Tookcorlnathon! Du ssiringerss wa krmethe!" Agni screamed, his muscles bulging beneath his chest plate as he tore an enemy's arm off

"What is he saying?" Anna asked, looking fearful at her commander

Agni's sword was suddenly sheathed on his back as different colored balls of fire began appearing around him

"Akiaent Harth! Joul Harth! Kiminimato Harth!"

The orbs of fire began spinning around him, creating a hurricane of fire.

"That's not even Drow, I think." Sorif offered

Richie shook his head. "That is definitely not Drow."

"tahw si eh gniyas?"

"Ancient Fire! Cold Fire! Hell Fire!"

"He saying different names of fire." Zatanna supplied "What does that mean."

"Behold, the power of a dracopath."

Everyone turned to see Orange casually walk up to them. He walked with a slight jaunt in his step and a wide smile on his face "Amazing isn't it?"

"He can do that?"

"Oh, not just that… that and so much more."

"I am your lord! I am your king! You will all fall before me!"

"Now's he's going on about being their ruler." Zatanna said with a frown. This was very unlike Agni.

"When we release our vows it changes our personalities a bit. To Agni it makes him more draconic."

"I said… FALL!" Agni shouted.

"Everyone get down!" Zatanna shrieked

The Rangers heeded her word and dropped to the ground.

A huge wave of purple fire washed over them. If it wasn't for the hieroglyphic shield they probably would have been incinerated on the spot.

Kal coughed and rolled over. He was so going to have words with Agni after this battle.

Everyone slowly stood up and looked over to Agni, he was standing tall with Belir and Orange by his side. Most the Drow around them laid dead. Many were getting back up to just then and even more were now coming out of the castle.

"You stupid sons of bow-legged, piss drinking, spiders! You, traitorous, god damned pieces of Orc dung! You-"

Zatanna quickly cut the spell, blushing bright red.

"What did he say?"

Zatanna glanced at Agni before blushing even harder and staring at the ground "He's swearing… very creatively."

"But Agni swears all the time." Arty commented "How bad could it be?"

"Oh it's worse."

"I took you from the evils of our ancestors! I guided you through the light! And yet you all dared go against me?! You all dared join him?" Agni shouted to his kin

"Now that is Drow." Richie said, shaking some soot off of his short cape.

Zatanna cast another translation spell and the Rangers looked at Agni, now able to understand him.

"You will kneel before your lord!"

The Drow seemed to hesitate

"Is that lord Belir?" was murmured

"Isn't he dead though?" another muttered

"He has the power of Lord Belir at the very least."

"I. SAID. KNEEL."

Agni struck his sword into the ground, sending a shockwave at the Drow who went toppling to the ground.

"You WILL obey me!" Agni said stoically, stabbing his sword through the chest of the nearest Drow "Or I swear to every known god I will slowly burn every single one of you, until you comply!" he sheathed his sword and turned to the mass of Drow, fire faintly blazing around him.

Most of the Drow fell to their knees, screaming out apologies to their missing Lord, they bowed to him with their faces pressed to the scorched ground and awaited his judgement.

"No."

Agni turned his head to see a few Drow standing up and making their way towards him/

"You led us away from our homes. You led us into a world that hated us, with false promises of acceptance. Lord Riddle and Abaddon will take our race to new heights. We will be revered as the true race we are. The Elves will bow to us!" One of them shouted, waving his hands dramatically "You are no-"

His last sentence was cut off as Agni dashed in front of him, Cursed Shadow's hand firmly on his throat.

Agni slowly lifted the Drow off the ground. He stared deep into the red eyes of his kin.

"Then you will die." Agni said simply.

The defiant Drow's kin rushed towards Agni, but they never too more than a step before they were intercepted by Belir and Orange.

Belir's arm shot out. He grabbed one Drow by the face. There was a sickening crunch as and blood spurted through his fingers. His other hand went straight through the chest of another, there was another snap and both fell down dead.

Orange vanished with a swirl of darkness. He appeared behind the last four, a ball of fire in one hand and a knife in the other. He shoved his hand into the first, replacing his chest with a large hole. He stepped forward and his knife lashed out, drawing a deep line across the second's He moved with a flash, slashing is knife at the last two, killing them swiftly.

"I am your lord. I am your leader. You will either kneel to my command or die a traitor."

"I will… never bow to you!" the Drow spluttered.

Agni grimaced "Then you sealed your own fate. May the gods be merciless to you, bastard." Cursed Shadow squeezed tighter on the Drow's throat. "But fear not, you are just the beginning of a new era… An era of MY dream."

Agni's hand suddenly turned dark red. His nails lengthened and blacked almost instantly as he gripped harder.

A dying scream came from the Drow as Agni's nails dug into his neck.

Cursed Shadow ripped his hand away, bringing with him most of the Drow's neck.

The Rangers and kneeling Drow stared in horror as the body fell to the ground. Agni casually slid his sword out of its sheath and stabbed it into the dying Drow's forehead.

~Broken Mirrors~

Zatanna gasped at Agni's ruthlessness and averted her eyes from the brutal death dealt by her boyfriend's hand.

She felt a comforting hand on her shoulder, placed by Richie who looked disheartened himself. , "This isn't him Zee, remember that."

Before he could say anything more there was a battle cry shouted behind them and the Amazons ran up shadowed by the Team.

Agni slowly slid her sword into his sheath and turned to meet the two princess warriors.

"Ah good, I see you have secured the courtyard." Princess Diana said briskly as they walked up "Move aside, my warriors will dispose of the captured enemies and then storm the castle." She made to move by Agni, but he stepped in her way

"No."

Wonder Woman looked surprised at Agni's behavior. From what she saw, the male Rangers were terrified of her counterpart.

"Excuse me?"

"I said.. no?" Agni repeated hesitantly, taking a step backwards.

Princess Diana stared coldly at Agni and closed in on him "Maybe you do not hear properly. I said move so I can dispose of the enemy."

"I heard perfectly clear, thank you very much, and I said no. These kin of mine are of the brotherhood and under my protection." Agni replied passively, refusing to meet her eyes. "They shall remain so until I, and only I, decide otherwise."

A murmur of shock went through the Amazons, several eager fidgeted with their weapon's eager to put the male back in his place.

Diana put her hand on Agni's chest and made to push him away, but he seemed to have gained an amazing amount of weight because he didn't move.

"You dare defy me?" she hissed "How dare you defend the enemy warriors."

Agni wavered slightly at the glare of the cold princess, after a moment of staring at her shoes he crossed his arms over his chest and mustered all the bravado he could "They surrendered to me, their lord, I will deal with them."

"Get out of my way boy."

Zatanna felt Richie tense beside her and slowly reach for his short sword and shield on his back. She looked at Agni who seemed uncertain and almost ready to back down.

"I said move!"

Agni was shoved a step back by the princess who stared at him triumphantly.

"Go back to your cave and rot there, Drow. There will never be place for you among us."

Cursed Shadow head hung low as he glanced at Zatanna's direction, seeking aide from her and his companions. He saw Zatanna look at him with dismay and shake her head, her expression changed to one of determination. He received the message clearly.

Do not back down

Agni slowly lifted huis head and stared into the Amazonion's eyes "You are out of place Princess." He spat feverously "This is my battlefield and what I say goes."

"You misjudge your command over the Amazons." Princess Diana retorted as her hand dropped to her hilt "You do not command the Amazonions or me!"

Cursed Shadow stared intently at the Princess, unsure of his next step. Before he said anything he became aware of the comforting presence of Zatanna in his mind. He could feel her through the link the necklace allowed them. An absolute sensation of each other.

He could suddenly feel her worry and her disgust in what he just did.

His resolute began to waver at it. Agni cared not for most things and people in life, but the emotional state of mind he was receiving from Zatanna made him purely sickened with himself and his prior actions.

But then he felt those feelings suddenly being pushed away and he sensed and overwhelming feeling of hope and courage. He felt that even though she was repulsed with what he did she still believed in him.

It was clear as night and day to him.

Do not back down.

"You are mistaken, Diana," Agni said cruelly, gaining confidence from Zatanna and stepping closer to the warrior princess. He was so close he could feel a hint of her breath wshing against his face, he was so close to her he could see the pores of her skin. "While in my battlefield you bow down to me. If I say jump, you say how high. If I say run, you ask how long. If I say, do not kill them, you say 'as you wish my lord, would you like lunch now?' Am I understood?" Cursed Shadow stepped back and nonchalantly glanced at his fingertips. "Go ahead." Agni taunted, lowering his hand and glancing at her face with as much blasé he could muster. "Pull out your sword and try to kill me. You do not scare me girl. Now get out of my face before I remove yours."

"You insolent brat!"

Agni ignored the quick rasp of steel. Within a blink of an eye Diana had her sword out and was swinging down at his neck.

It was intercepted by another blade. Agni's eyes traveled down it to see it surprisingly being held by her counterpart, Wonder Woman.

"Lay a single hand on him and we'll see if your head rolls the same as mine." Wonder Woman said severely "You are out of place and it would do you goood to remember where it is in my world."

The Amazons surrounded them with weapons drawn. Agni counted twenty bows taut and pointed at him.

Richie shadowed in behind the warrior princess and placed his sword underneath her outstretched neck. "My father will be most displeased if I kill you right now, but I'm sure he'll get over it and find another wench. I heard Selena has been looking mightily good lately."

Diana growled and pressed against her counterpart's sword. Agni gave a small, barely noticeable, wince at the rasping steel so close to his neck.

"Enough!"

Agni cocked his head to see Master Bruce stride up followed by the rest of his army.

"My greetings Master Bruce."

"What is going on?" Bruce Wayne demanded

A crackled of thundered sounded overhead. Zatanna looked up to see the sky strangely a dark red.

"The Amazonion is challenging my command." Agni said simply, uncrossing his arms and allowing them to dangle by his sides. "I simply made sure she knew what her place was. I'm sure you can understand that she didn't take it too well."

"That is enough, Diana, stand down."

"This boy dared defy me and defend his cursed kin."

"Move away now, Princess. We do not want this to get ugly." Nabu cackled. He inclined his head as the eye holes in his helmet began glowing a shade of gold, "Or don't… we can go either ways."

Diana growled again and slowly lowered her sword

Wonder Woman cautiously withdrew her own, eyeing her counterpart warily.

Nightwing didn't budge. He glared hatefully into the back of Princess Diana head, contemplating his next move.

"That more than enough Richard." Master Bruce ordered, "You can lower your sword."

Richie looked at Agni who nodded and motioned him to lower his blade and he did so, slowly and reluctantly. "We made another enemy today." He commented as Diana slowly walked away

"What's one more?" Agni said, smirked fiercely, "If we don't make new ones a now and again we'll soon find ourselves having run out."

Nightwing grinned back before bowing at the waist as his adopted father approached followed by a man in an army uniform.

"General Garnet, my utmost appreciative greetings." Agni said "I cannot begin to thank you enough for coming to our aide."

The general grunted "Well this is our world. What would we be if we didn't defend it?"

Agni chuckled before turning to the castle that loomed over them. "Can you bombard this place?"

The general nodded "I have snipers and tanks standing by. Nothing and no one be left when we are done."

"You will not be able to harm most of it." Wizard Fate commented "I can feel that most of it is heavily warded against physical attacks."

Garnet growled "Then we'll at least make sure no one gets away."

Agni nodded turned to Master Bruce "You get everyone ready and prepare to launch a full charge against the castle while the Ranger and I sneak in and find Abaddon"

"Are you sure this is the best plan?" Master Bruce asked "Maybe you should go in with a full army behind you."

Cursed Shadow shook his head "They'll just get in our way. While the main force is occupied with you, it'll give us an opportunity to get in through the back."

"As you wish then."

Agni bowed and walked to where the Rangers and Team were gathered.

"I can't believe you did that." Bloody Arrow muttered with a shake of his head. "She would have cut you down where you stand."

Another small smirk spread across Agni's face as he held out his hand "I barely did it. If I didn't know you guys would have backed be up I would have moved."

Zatanna gripped Agni's arm tightly. She could tell he was clearly shaking.

"How did you get the U.S. army involved?" Robin asked curiously, glancing sidelong at the General not too far away from them.

Garnet unexpectedly turned around and caught his eye. The General gave him a quick wink before briskly walking off after Master Bruce.

"Your president is eager to get rid of Abaddon. All I had to do was sent a simple letter with Sorif to him."

"He was happy to hear you had the bastard cornered." Sorif supplied

Agni sighed and surveyed the castle. "Team, you guys are going with the Guild and attack the front doors. Ranger's you are with me, we're going to scale the side of the building and sneak in."

"Why aren't we going with you?" Robin asked

"Because what you saw out here is only the beginning. Inside will be much more brutal. We can't afford any more mercy for our enemies." Arty explained "And now that we're fully powered it's not going to be anymore hack and slash."

"Even though tearing the guy's throat out might have been a bit much." Wallace added with a hint of distaste

Agni shrugged "There is no right or wrong in this war anymore. We need to just get the job done and go home."

The Team was silent as they contemplated what they were just told. They shared a look with each other being coming to a unanimous agreement.

"We can deal with that." Red Arrow said finally

Agni looked at the team with a raised eyebrow

"We understand that this is no longer a battle between superheroes and villains. This is war and in war people die." Robin added "We still refuse to kill, but we won't hinder you."

"Speak for yourself." Superboy growled "I don't particularly care."

"You need our help anyways." Zatanna stated "We'll back you up."

Cursed Shadow stared at them observingly for several moments before slowly nodding.

"Fine then." He said slowly "As long as you stop trying to stop us from what we do."

"We promise."

A roar broadcasted overhead

"Agni!" called one of the Green Lanterns "The Dragon is back!"

Cursed Shadow swore loudly "Shazam, Lanterns, Wizard Fate, deal with that now!" He shouted, spinning around and striding towards the castle "The rest of you prepare to attack the castle."

~Broken Mirrors~

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"

Robin winced as Agni went wildly swinging by him and crashed into the castle's walls.

"This is the LAST TIME WE LISTEN TO MY IDEAS!" Agni hollered, spinning left to dodge an arrow. "THIS WAS A HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PLAN!"

The Boy Wonder sighed as he neatly swung out of the way of a dark liquid being dumped down the wall at him.

A gun shot rang out and a Drow fell out of a window, splattering on the courtyard far below them.

Dick Grayson grimaced that was the fifteenth Drow Garnet's snipers had taken out.

Another roar was heard as a gush of hot air rushed by them.

Then wave of fire flew by them, making Robin uncomfortably hot.

"We need to get inside!" Robin shouted to the others "This is totally not astrous in any which way."

"Everyone get inside!" Nightwing screamed, swinging towards a window "We'll fight our way to Abaddon from the inside."

The rest of the Rangers and Team vocalized their confirmation and sped towards the windows.

Agni was the last one in, followed closely by another wave of fire. He shot to his feet with a worried look on his face. "Everyone okay?" he asked

"No one was burnt alive." Bloody Arrow answered "But the Atlanteans are not doing their best."

"We will be fine." Aqualad panted "Just give us a moment."

"Dragons are so not cool dude." Kal muttered in between gasping breaths "No offense."

"Plenty taken." Belir'hacyrd growled as he slid out of the shadows "What took so long?"

"We ran into problems on the way." Agni said "And what are you doing here?"

"Helping, obviously." The dragon retorted.

Agni made a quick hand motion and his Belir inhabited shadow clone faded away. "Can't trust him." He explained "Might turn us over to Abaddon. Most likely he will."

Nightwing nodded "So what do we do now?"

Cursed Shadow shrugged "I did not really make a plan for once we got in. Only for what we do if we find him" He pulled his bow off of his shoulder and pointed towards the door "We'll just wing it."

"All we need to do is find Abaddon." Robin said "Then we go through with your… what can we call it? It could be barely defined as a 'plan'."

Agni chuckled weakly before knocking and arrow and pulling the string far back.

"Rangers…" He said at length, "and Team. Find all hostiles, eliminate them with extreme prejudice."

~Broken Mirrors~

"We should separate and try to cover as much ground as possible." Jason Todd said and they ran through the castle. "We'll find him much quicker that way."

"Shut up Todd." Agni growled, stopping his sprint and turning to face the new Captain "This is my quest. Now you will be quiet or follow my orders or I will kill you in the most painful way I can imagine."

Jason strode up to Agni "I happen to think your plan is folly. Maybe I'll take my group and do things my own way."

"I don't think that's a good idea, Robin." Wonder Girl said hesitantly "It was kind enough he take us with him, we should just do things his way."

"And if we run into an ambush?" Jason retorted, glaring at his subordinate "Should we all die because this idiot is set on revenge?"

Agni snarled and his hidden blade shot from his bracer. "That's it. Now I'm going to kill you."

Jason quickly pulled a dagger out and faced off in front of Agni. "You wouldn't dare do anything in front of my team."

"Wouldn't I? You want to bet on that."

There was a quick whirring sound behind him. Agni glanced over his shoulder to see the boy in the blue armor with his arm pointing at him.

"I beg of you Cursed Shadow, please lower the knife, I do not want to be responsible for your second death."

"And I would rather not be the reason for your first." Arsenal said, lifting his own arm and aiming at the blue armored boy.

"Blue Dragon, stand down!" Batgirl shouted, hastily lowering the hands of Bumblebee "You as well Guardian!"

The blue and golden man looked uncertainly over his shield at the second-in-command "He's attacking our captain." He said sternly "That's unacceptable."

"I don't know who he thinks he is, but he needs to put that knife down." The fish looking boy said, suddenly enlarging into a huge body.

Bloody Arrow pulled back his bow and knocked two arrows, one for La'gaan and the second for the green kid that was turning into a panther.

Richie's shield and staff was out and stood back to back with Agni, facing Blue Dragon

The Team took a few steps back and fearfully watched the incident.

"You guys should calm down now." Robin said quickly "This is totally not astrous ."

"Stand down Shadow." Jason sneered "You do not stand a chance against my companions."

"Your team is nothing compared to mine, Todd." Agni scorned "What are you? A group of hopeless knockoffs and fakes that had to replace my own. You are nothing but, a second idea, replacements. A group of people who lean of their powers instead of skills."

"Hurtful…" Barbra muttered

"Shut up, Aleanth or I'm going to gut you." Jason hissed "Do not insult my Rangers like that."

"No offense to you, Oracle, You were always meant to be with us. You just weren't ready."

"Still hurt over here!" The smaller green boy snapped

Agni paused and looked at the shapeshifter "Who even are you?"

Changling roared and turned into a large green lion.

"Now look at us." Agni continued, deciding to ignore the unknown green elf "The True Rangers. We've trained more years than most of you have even lived. We are the perfect fighting squad, exactly balanced for all that could possibly be needed."

"I said shut up!"

Jason lunged at Agni, bringing down his knife towards the dracopath's chest.

Cursed Shadow's aura flared to life and gave a burst of magic at Jason. Before he could steady himself, Jason gasped for breath as Agni rammed a knee into his chest.

"I have no time for you." Agni growled

"Don't even think about moving." Arsenal said firmly, inching closer to Blue Dragon.

"Okay guys, I think that is more than enough." Zatanna said firmly, stepping forward. "We're all on the same team here."

Agni glanced at her, slowly lowering his knife. He reluctantly back away from his kin.

"Wrong move, dragon." Jason hissed, leaping at Agni

Cursed Shadow's knife, shot back up and intercepted Jason's. A swift kick to the chest sent him into the wall. Agni's second knife came out of his dagger and he pressed it against Jason's neck.

Blue Dragon made a step forward, but found Richie's sword pressing against his chest.

"I don't know who you are, but if you take another step I'll be forced to kill you." Nightwing said "and I'd rather not."

"Go ahead, Captain." Jason jeered "Kill me, show everyone who you truly are. A monster."

Agni narrowed his red eyes at his kin and pressed the knife against Jason's neck.

"You don't need to do that." Zatanna said softly from behind him "You'd only be proving what everyone thinks right."

Cursed Shadow scowled at Robin before slowly lowering his second knife and turning away. "You take your companions and go destroy whatever machine Abaddon has trying to destroy this world. Go now." He turned to his companions "Lower your weapons. We are done here."

Agni had already taken several steps down when he head laughter erupt from Jason

"You truly are weak." The boy shouted at his back "You couldn't kill me before, you can't kill me now. Being in this dimension has made you useless."

Richie felt his eye twitch and before he knew what he was doing he had crossed the area between him and his replacement and slugged him in the face.

Robin collapsed to the floor with a groan, clutching his nose.

"Never insult my friend again. Or I'm going to fulfill that promise I made you." Nightwing whispered. "Don't think I'm as merciful as him."

Richie turned to Blue Dragon and glared at him.

Jaime lowered his arm with a curt nod and dashed over to his captain.

"You guys go with them," Richie said, pointing at Miss M/P, the Atlantians and Artemis, "I want you five to go with them. Make sure they stick to the plan." Nightwing sighed and turned to follow Agni. He looked over his shoulder at them, "If they do anything they aren't supposed to… you are free to kill them."

"Isn't that a little harsh Richie?" Barbra called after him

Richie paused one more time and turned around "It's that or… I kill them all now, your choice."

Oracle swallowed and lowered his head "You should never have released your vows."

Nightwing shrugged and turned back around, "The end defines the means, does it not?"

~Broken Mirrors~

Agni ducked under an axe and pressing his body against the wall. With a sigh he pushed himself off to dodge yet another strike, he slashed his sword out, cutting the axe bearer down. Slowly sliding his Ranger Sword back into its sheath and taking a deep breath, he took another step suddenly he whipping out his hand sending a dart from his bracer flying down the hall placing it through another's neck. The walls around him shook from the bombardment the castle was taking, he momentarily lost his footing, but his bow was already out next as he notched an arrow, letting it fly down the hall, followed by three more taking down the guards that were coming down the stairs.

Conner's hammer flew by him, shattering the shield of another Drow, Superboy appeared with his hammer in hand, he nodded to Agni as he launch the Drow through the air with a single powerful strike.

"We must be getting close." Robin commented as he padded up.

Agni nodded as they continued their trek down the hall. Abaddon was throwing everything he had at them. That must've been the fifth squad of Agni's kin they had run into and even in their powered forms the Rangers were beginning to tire.

"From what we know he should be in the center of the castle." Richie told the Team and Rangers. "He probably knows he can't take us all on by himself.

"Common! There's another room up ahead. We can't be too far."

Agni promptly kicked the door in and dashed into the room with his Weapon drawn.

His companions were seconds after him, they stormed into the room to see Agni standing a few feet away from the door with an annoyed look on his face.

In front of him was Deathstroke the Terminator, Klarion, Iivdril, Sportsmaster and a squadron of Drow.

"Well look who's here…" Deathstroke, staring at his counterpart's protégé.

"Fuck…" Agni muttered "We're going to need backup."

"Teleportation of Awesomeness!"

Bright lights suddenly appeared behind him, leaving Sorif, Harry Potter and Slade Wilson in its wake.

"You called?" Slade asked, jovially pulling out his two swords and stepping in line next to Agni.

"Move aside, we are here for Abaddon not you." Nightwing called as he and the rest lined up next to Agni

Klarion's laugh echoed throughout the room "Do the kiddies really think we'll just let them pass?"

Agni growled and bore his eyes into his Mentor's counterpart "Move aside Slade. The Rangers and I just released our vows. You stand no chance against us now."

Deathstroke slowly pulled out his sword "We'll just have to see about that."

~Broken Mirrors~

Agni cursed under his breath as he slashed his sword through another one of his kin. Anger rushed through his veins as he fought his way through the throes of his enemies towards the next door.

Slade fought beside him, covering his six from anyone who could get near.

The two Boy Wonders were off the Agni's right, aiding him in clearing a way to the door. They fought flawlessly side by side, each understanding the other's fighting style perfectly.

Deathstroke dropped in front of them, knocking Agni's sword out wide. He was intercepted by counterpart who clashed swords with him, blocking his view of the dracopath.

"Get out of our way, weakling." Slade spat at his counterpart "How completely idiotic can you be to stand next to Abaddon?"

Deathstroke sliced his sword out at Slade, but it was promptly deflected by his counterparts second sword.

"Our world is coming to an end." Deathstroke retorted, his sword lashing out, "Abaddon will usher in a new order and I will stand by his side as his most trusted adviser."

"You think Abaddon will ever succeed?" Slade mocked "Even if the Guild fails here, even if everyone on this battlefield dies, do you think that will be the end? If we fall then the Shinobi will come next, and with them the entire school of Mages and Wizards, and with them will come the entire army of the United Kingdoms. They will burn this place to the ground and destroy anything that remains. That is the future of your world if Abaddon succeeds here."

"And your Drow won't do the same?" Deathstroke snapped, bringing in his sword high to cleave his counterpart in half, "Are you saying he won't destroy this world as well if it means terminating Abaddon?"

Slade crossed his two blades above his head and held Deathstroke's sword still for a moment. "Oh he will. At least when he is done there will be at least something left to your world. If the Lord Ruler comes with his armies there will be nothing but ash left and that's if you are truly lucky."

Deathstroke slipped his sword out of the hold and brought it back up in a diagonal cut, Slade spun around, using one sword to deflect it and the other to knock it away from Deathstroke's hand.

Completing his spin he jabbed a sword at Deathstroke, slicing into his leg and drove him away from Agni onto his knees.

Deathstroke slowly stood up and pulled his staff off of his back. "Then you better hope to whoever or whatever you believe in that Agni gets by us. Because if he fails, your… Lord Ruler will perish by Abaddon's hands as well."

Slade raised the eyebrow over his good eye, "Oh and what makes you think that?"

"Abaddon is being backed by someone. Someone more powerful than anything you can imagine. Someone able to bring back the dead and grant inconceivable powers. Do you believe your Drow can stop that?"

Slade paused, cocking his head slightly to take in his surroundings.

Agni was fighting hand to hand with the idiot in the mask, Zatanna and Anna were throwing spells and other magics at the Witch Boy, The rest of the Rangers and Team were strewn around the large room, battling the few remaining Drow. Agni's aura was blazing around him, lashing out at Sportsmaster with long tendrils of fire and dark energy. The Sportsmaster had almost no way to defend himself against it and was consequently thrown into a wall. Cursed Shadow didn't even pause to gloat or mock the downed warrior. He simply turned and leapt at Klarion, his arms ablaze with fire as he pounded at the Witch Boy's magical shields.

"Yes." Slade found himself answering "Yes I believe he can. He will do that and so much more if it means obtaining his dream."

Slade turned back to his counterpart who was weighing his words heavily.

"Get out of here now." Deathstroke said, lowering his staff, "Get as many of the Rangers out of here and into the next room. There will be a long hall and at the end of it will be the armory. Abaddon has a surprise for Agni there, something that will hopefully make their battle easier."

"What is it?"

Deathstroke shrugged "I do not know. I didn't plan on letting you by me to find out."

Slade jerked his head in a small nod and turned his back to his counterpart. "Agni!" He shouted, "Get your ass over here. We're leaving!" he looked over his shoulder at his counterpart who was clearly favoring his left leg. "Get yourself out of here. Use a back exit and stay low. There are snipers surrounding the place."

Deathstroke nodded and turned to leave. He took only a single step before looking over his own shoulder at his counterpart "Hope we never meet again, because if we do I won't allow you to live."

Slade smirked and began walking towards the room's exit "Same."

Agni heard the call of his Mentor and looked up just in time to see him running towards the exit. Cursed Shadow quickly glanced around the room, but didn't see his Mentor's counterpart anywhere.

"Blood, Red! Cover our exit!"

~Broken Mirrors~

"How long have we been running for?" Agni demanded as they all sprinted down the hall

"Nearly half an hour." Robin answered between gasps for air

"Keep going!"

Slade slid to a stop next to his protégé and grabbed his arm. "We need to rest a moment. Look at the humans, they can't run at this pace for that long."

Agni halted his sprint and sighed. He began pacing the thin hall as the Team quickly caught their breaths.

"What else does he have?" Agni muttered to himself. "He's already thrown everything he can."

"Agni?" Bloody Arrow asked suddenly

Agni glanced at his comrade and arched an eyebrow

"Arsenal said that Iivdril was at that meeting with Abaddon." He stated

Cursed Shadow nodded "I do not know why."

"And Orange let Abaddon's army loose at us." Red Arrow continued

Agni shrugged "I must have somehow had some kind of reason. Both for setting Iivdril free and setting the army loose."

Wallace looked up cautiously at his captain. "Or…"

Agni shrugged again "Or something." He suddenly stopped pacing and turned to face his companions. "Is there a problem I am not seeing? If so… please, pray tell."

Arsenal shrugged "We're just saying. It's a bit odd."

Arty sighed and pushed herself off the wall she was leaning on, "What we're saying is how do we know that this isn't a trap?"

Cursed Shadow went very still for a split second before slowly blinking.

"A-Are you saying… are you daring to say that I'm a traitor?" He asked slowly

"It's crossed our minds." Wallace muttered quietly.

"Not all of ours." Richie spat glaring at Wallace and Bloody Arrow

"Definitely not." Connor seconded with a nodding Zatanna

Agni slowly turned away from them and faced the wall.

There was a second of silence.

There a shattering boom.

Richie winced at the loud noise and almost choked on the sudden large amount of dust in the air. Wallace pulled out a knife and slashed the air in front of him. A sharp breeze shot from his knife and clear the air around them.

In front of them was Agni, his arm almost elbow deep into the stone wall in front of him. Smoke was pouring off of his body.

"Y-You dare?" Agni whispered softly, twisting his arm in the masonry it was now embedded

Zatanna quickly stepped forward; ignoring the soft flames appeared and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"We're just worried. You haven't been yourself lately." Wallace soothed "We don't actually believe you'd do that."

Cursed Shadow turned away from his companions, yanking his arm out of the wall. He took a few steps away and stared down the stone hallway "We're here to finish the job that is what we're going to do. When we are done…" Agni looked over his shoulder, his purple eyes narrowed at who he believed to be his friends "We will be having words. Am I clear?"

Without waiting for an answer Agni stalked off with the Rangers falling in line behind him, most with their heads hanging low.

The Team paused for a moment and watched the others trail off.

"This is going south really quickly." Red Arrow muttered

Robin nodded "This entire mission is quickly becoming a disaster… heavy on the dis."

"You guys coming?" Sorif called from ahead of them "We're not too far from the throne room now."

~Broken Mirrors~

"Check the surrounding rooms. Inform if you find anything." Agni ordered as they came to a door filled room outside of the throne room.

As everyone began searching Agni stood stoutly in front of the last door and attempted to break it down with nothing but his glare.

"You okay, capt'n?" Connie asked hesitantly, stepping forward with his counterpart as they moved through the castle

"Perfectly fine." Agni growled back, stubbornly glaring ahead

Connor sighed and grabbed Agni by the shoulder, spinning his around and shoving him against the wall.

Agni's hand shot up and held a knife beneath Connor's chin

"Let me go." Agni said curtly

"You know you can't hurt me." Connor replied "And even if you can you won't."

"I said, let me go." Agni ordered "Or I will use magic."

Connor shook his head "I'm sorry Agni, but you won't listen to me any other way." He sighed again while pressing Agni's struggling body harder into the wall. He looked into Agni's eyes, seeing the same pain that he saw in a mirror every day. "They're just worried. No one actually believes you could betray us."

"Is that true though?" Agni hissed "Is that the actual truth? You don't think I don't see how everyone treats me? Like I'm a bomb about to go off at anyone, like I'm going to snap and kill everyone at a moments notice. All because I'm something that shouldn't exists, because I'm a half-breed. Do you know what that feels like? Knowing that no one will ever fully trust you, because of your parents might be?"

Agni paused and his eyes widened as he stared into Connor's

"Oh…"

Superboy nodded "Someone once told me… what was it? 'You are your own person. Don't let anything tell you otherwise.' Maybe you should listen to your own words."

Cursed Shadow was silent for a moment "The situation is very different." He said weakly

"Is it?" Connor questioned "Because you're a leader and I'm not? Then maybe you should show us why we follow you. You're a great person Agni, You just need to realize that for yourself."

"I should never have taught you Tai Chi. I liked you a lot better when you were angry all the time."

Connor chuckled and slowly released his grip on the Drow. "You're a leader. Now act like it." He ordered

Agni slowly adjusted the small buckler shield on his arm and his eyes narrowed at his two friends "I don't take orders from you."

A small smile grew on Connor's face "At least my plans are better than yours."

Cursed Shadow snorted and he turned back to the door to the throne room. His hand slipped into his pocket and he removed an egg sized black gem. He stared into the swirling darkness of it before opening a small compartment on his bracer and popping it in.

His eyes closed and he lifted his hand to his mouth. Pausing for a moment he pressed his lips against the dark gem of his ring and whispered

"To me, my companions. It is time to let the monster out."

~Broken Mirrors~

"Are we sure this is wise?" Iivdril asked for the thirteenth time as she followed Abaddon down a narrow tunnel.

"The Guild thought they could dig a huge array underneath my castle without me knowing." Abaddon sneered as they turned a corner and walked through a large open room. "Do they honestly think I'm that much of a fool?"

"Yes, but to try and lead the Rangers down here? This is a bit of a disadvantage for you. We should have stayed in the throne room. At least you can transform there." Iivdril insisted, nodding to the several guards posted around the room.

"I might not be able to transform, but down here I am closer to him and that means more power." Abaddon answered, entering the last room.

Iivdril surveyed the room. It was large and room held up by pillars, lit by several torches that hung around the room. In the middle was a magical array, carefully light with many small candles. She slowly entered, adjusting the crossbow on her back as she stepped down the few stairs leading into the room.

"Is this?" She asked hesitantly

"It sure is…" Abaddon responded, walking up to the array. The half-demon knelt before it and placed his demonic hand at the edge.

For a moment it was completely silent. Iivdril couldn't hear anything. The cackling torches were silenced and the echoes of being underground were quieted… even her own breath was hushed to her ears.

She wasn't even sure if she was still breathing.

Abaddon turned his head to her and a genuine smile spread across his face.

And then the array exploded.

Iivdril lifted her hands to shield her face, but nothing hit her. She slowly lowered them to see flashing lights dancing around her, the sound of raging fire and pounding metal hit her ears, the smell of brimstone filled her nose, nearly overwhelming her senses.

Through it all she could see Abaddon standing tall before the portal.

"How are things going, son?" A booming voice said from the portal "Why are the head's of the Guilders not in front of me."

Abaddon smile grew wider as he knelt before the bodiless voice. "They think to seal my soul away. They even managed to dig the proper alchemic and magic arrays and circles around the castle. It is under control though. I am far away from the center in this room."

The bodiless voice was silent for several moments before it burst out laughing.

"That is quite the simpleton plan they have." It said after it's laughter died down. "How do they plan on doing it?"

Abaddon shrugged "Someone is probably going to sacrifice themselves. Won't happen though, I have the last present you gave me waiting for them in the throne room. Even if someone of them manage to get by, they still have my elite team waiting for them in the last room. No one, but Agni himself will come through that door and by then even with his entire arsenal in his hands, his vow released and with no one here to see him use illegal magic and techniques, he'll be too tired and injured to defeat both me and Iivdril."

"Masterful plan my son, but let us take one more precaution. Are you ready for your last present?"

"You honor me father."

A beam of dark energy flew towards Abaddon striking him in the chest. Abaddon flew from in front of the portal and smashed into the furthest wall. He fell to the floor and laid motionless.

Iivdril looked at him with alarm and made to sprint towards him when she suddenly felt a sensation of pure dread and killing intent focus on her.

"Come here girl." The ominous voice ordered "Kneel before your master's master."

Iivdril slowly dragged her feet towards the portal and knelt before it, staring hard at the ground, hoping it would just swallow her up.

"Hmm, another Drow. How… illuminating for Abaddon to keep you around. But I do feel a small amount demon in your blood and Abaddon has deigned to keep you around. So how about this, I can make it grow more powerful. Powerful enough for you to even match up to the strongest of those pitiful Rangers." The sensation of killing intent grew stronger, enveloping her, forcing the oxygen from her lungs and making her muscles grow weak. "But as I said to Abaddon, all magic comes with a price. Do you want it?"

Iivdril heaved for breath, her mouth suddenly dry. She slowly licked her lips as she weighed her options.

"I await an answer. Do not keep me waiting. I do not take rejection very well."

Iivdril felt a tear slowly run down her obsidian colored cheek as she weakly raised her head and stared into the void "I do."

"That is good. Now enjoy what I have given you and try not to die before I tell you to."

Iivdril attempted to nod, but all she strength was gone. She collapsed to the floor, her eyes began blurring. All she could see was a small tendril of darkness reach out for her.

For a moment all she knew was pain. Every centimeter of her body suddenly felt like it was on fire. She screamed in pain, but she knew no one could hear her in the chamber. Her mind suddenly full with knowledge she didn't have before. Filling her mind was the information of spell, rituals, forgotten fighting styles and dark magic unknown to her land since the times when gods walked amongst men. Just when her mind felt like it was about to burst for it could hold no more she suddenly knew nothing, for the darkness had washed over her, taking her into its gloomy embrace and with that she blacked out.

~Broken Mirror~

"Fire Dragon's ROAR."

Agni calmly stepped over the remnants of the door and most of the wall it was attached and strode into the throne room. His sword came out in the blink of an eye and his tomahawk was visible in his other hand, behind his small buckler shield.

"Knock knock." Agni called stepped over some rubble "Room service!"

The Rangers and Team filed in after him, a couple face palming at his words.

Cursed Shadow paused and looked over his shoulder at Sorif "Did I do that right?"

The bard gave a thumbs up and swung his lute from his back into a comfortable grip. "Perfectly." He said giving a toothy grin

Agni looked up at the throne, twirling his sword in preparation to leap.

Then he stopped.

A tall muscular elf stood from the throne, throwing off a fake royal cloak. "Why hello there Agni, been a while has it not?"

A deep growl erupted from Agni's throat. His aura around him began to form dark red and purple tendrils and smoke began pouring off of his body. "Ilai…" He growled gripping his sword to the point that his knuckles turned white

The elf smiled as he brushed his long brown hair out of his eyes. "Oh I'm going to enjoy this so... so much."

"Er… who is that?" Red Arrow asked quietly

Nightwing turned his head from glaring fiercely at the elf. "The only person Agni might hate more than Abaddon."

"Is a 'oh shit' in order?" Arsenal asked slowly raising his arm

"He's a weapon-master of Agni and Richie's caliber. Well versed in magic, a total scumbag and dirty fighter." Anna hissed "He betrayed us for Abaddon not long before we were sent here. He was the one who told Abaddon where our cave was."

"He's a dead man walking." Agni snarled, his eyes narrowing at the Wood Elf who was standing triumphantly on the throne. "I'm going to rip his heart out and shove it up so far up his ass that it's going to go right back where it belonged."

Ilai erupted with laughter "The only dead man walking I see is you, dear Agni. I'm going to kill you so painfully…" Ilai paused as he leapt down from the thrown and walked towards Agni, stopping just a few yards away. "I think a Thousand Cuts sounds fitting for trash like you."

"You're outnumbered," Nightwing commented "If you surrender, maybe I'll only cut off your head."

Ilai smiled widely "Oh I'm not going to surrender." He said pointing to the walls that were laced with all sorts of weapons. "Not only am I a weapon master in a room full of everything I could want, did you truly believe I'm alone?"

The Wood Elf gave a sharp whistle

Agni paused "Should I be scared now?"

Ilai held up a hand "Give them a moment. It's not exactly easy to hide from two Boy Wonders and like three master assassins. Not to even mention the numerous aliens you have with you."

"I hear footsteps coming… a lot." Connor offered

"From where?" Agni asked

Richie suddenly looked around with a surprise look on his face "Everywhere…" he whispered

The room which was nearly empty one moment was suddenly full the next. Elves of all sorts suddenly surrounded them.

Agni looked up at Ilai "Okay, I'm impressed."

Ilai smiled back "Say hello to my band of mercenaries. Trained personally by everything from hellions to angels to a weapon master… me."

Cursed Shadow took a deep breath, he blinked and his eyes were golden-black. He took several steps forward before a large toothy smile appeared unnaturally on his face.

"Companions," he said, falling into a fighting stance "Kill them all. With extreme prejudice."

Nightwing stepped up beside him, his boa staff twirling around him and cackling with lightning. On the other side of Agni Connor stepped forward and hefted his hammer.

"As you wish… Commander."
