Chapter 15: Staying at Daffy's.
It's been one month since the air show and Tina and her family has been having a sort of pest problem at the house. It's been fustrating and Frank has no choice but to pay lots of money for the exterminator to fumigate the whole house with the fumigating sheets. Anyway, the school day is over and Tina is at her locker getting some of her textbooks that she'll need to do homework once she stays at the hotel she and her family will stay for a week. As Tina grabs her stuff, Daffy approaches her.
"Hey, babe." Daffy greeted her with a kiss.
"Hi, babe." Tina said.
"Wanna do something today?" Daffy asked.
"I can't. My family is preparing to book a hotel. We have a pest problem at the house." Tina said.
"Why would Frank want to spend more money for a hotel? I could offer you and your family to stay at my place." Daffy said.
"Really?" Tina asked with delight.
"Well, I have to talk to my parents first. I'll let you know what happens." Daffy said.
"Thanks, Daffy." Tina said before kissing him in the cheek.
With that, Tina heads home where she has to pack her bag with stuff that she's gonna take with her. A few hours later, Tina's cellphone rang.
"Hello?" Tina answered.
"Tina, it's me." Daffy replied.
"Hi, Daffy. So what's the news?" Tina asked.
"I talk to my parents. They said that you and your family are more than welcome to stay at our place." Daffy said.
"That's great. I'll let my parents know. We should be at your house tomorrow." Tina said.
"Okay. I'll see you tomorrow." Daffy said.
With that, both hangs up. Tina goes to tell her parents.
"Mom? Dad?" Tina called.
"We're over here, honey." Frank called from th kitchen.
Tina went to the kitchen where she finds her parents.
"I just got a call from Daffy. His parents said that we are more than welcome to stay at his place." Tina said.
"Well, that's so sweet of them. Frank what do you think?" Susan asked.
"I guess we can stay there. Besides, I need to save the money." Frank said.
The next day, Frank was driving the car with Susan and Tina as they head to Daffy's place.
"Okay, where exactly does Daffy live?" Frank asked.
"Turn here." Tina said pointing towards a road.
"They live in the forest?" Frank said.
"Yeah, so does Bugs. They're neighbors." Tina said.
"Hey, we might be able to meet Happy." Frank said.
"Yeah, I forgot about him." Susan said.
Frank drove the car through the dirt road in the forest, until he came into an open area where there was a house, a burrow, and a lake.
"That's his house." Tina said.
"Looks nice." Frank said.
Frank parks the car just as Daffy comes out the front door.
"Hey, you're here. Welcome." Daffy greeted.
"Daffy, I appreciate you for doing this. We owe you and your family one." Frank said.
With that, Daffy, Rebecca and Daffy's father, Daniel, help the Russos settle in.
"There you yourselves home." Daniel said.
"Thanks Daniel." Frank said.
Downstairs in the living room, Daffy and Tina were sitting in the couch.
"Thanks for letting us stay at your place, Daffy." Tina said.
"No problem. If you want you can sleep in my room. I'll sleep on the couch." Daffy said.
"Are you sure? You could just put a matress on the floor." Tina said.
"Yes. Besides, I'm not sleeping in my room with you until there is a ring on my finger. Matress or no matress." Daffy said.
"Okay." Tina said.
With that, Tina starts taking her bag to Daffy's room. Tina went to Daffy's room. It was a humble room. A bed, desk, drawers, etc, but what catches her attention is some photographs of her and Daffy. All those good times they spend together as a couple. Every picture she sees puts a smile on her face. Anyway, Tina places her bag on the floor and heads downstairs to meet with her family and Daffy's family. Everyone discuss about the situation before going their separate ways. Daniel would be in his private office. Rebecca in the kitchen. Frank would talk to his chief from the police station before he gets ready to head to work tonight, and Susan helping Rebecca with the chores, trying to be a helpful house guest. Anyway, Daffy and Tina were outside the house.
"So what actually do you and Bugs do out here?" Tina asked.
"Not much. Either work, have fun, or climb that mountain." Daffy replied.
Bugs then suddenly approach them.
"Hey guys." Bugs said.
"Hey Bugs." Tina said.
"Someone visiting your house, Daffy?" Bugs asked.
"No, Tina and her family is staying at my place for a week." Daffy said.
"My house got a pest problem." Tina said.
"That sucks." Bugs said.
"At least we can hang out together. You two can show me what you guys do around here in the forest." Tina said.
"That would be great." Bugs said.
For the next few hours, Bugs and Daffy showed Tina what they do. They also climb one of the mountains with her. Tina was amazed of the view when they reached the top. Afterwards, everyone heads home. Daffy and Tina heads inside the house. Daffy and Tina saw Frank getting ready to head to work and everyone else getting ready for bed.
"You kids can watch a movie if you want since today's Friday." Daniel said.
"Okay, dad." Daffy said.
With that, Daffy gets some stuff and assemble the couch, which is actually a fouton.
"What movie you wanna see?" Daffy asked.
"I don't mind. This is your house." Tina replied.
"Okay, let's watch Independence Day." Daffy said.
"Ohh, I love that movie." Tina said.
Tina and Daffy spend the rest of the night watching Independence Day and eating popcorn. During the movie, Tina feel comfortable in Daffy's embrace. She felt safe and and protected in his arms, and his feathers is so smooth and warm that she felt relaxed. When the movie finished, Daffy discovered that Tina has fell asleep in his arms. Daffy gently moves away from her, making sure she doesn't wake up. He then went upstairs to his room to uncover the sheets and blanket on his bed. He then went downstairs again. He then pick up Tina carefully, although he struggle to hold her since he's not strong like Jericho. Daffy took Tina to his room carefully. He places her on the bed and cover her with the sheets and blanket. Daffy just can't help but look at her.
'Man, she looks beauitful sleeping. She looks like a beautiful sleeping angel.' Daffy thought.
Daffy leaned over and kissed her forehead.
"I love you." Daffy whispered before closing his bedroom door and leave to go sleep downstairs.
The next morning, Tina woke up. She stretched her body and she yawned. She then found out that she's at Daffy's room and she still had her clothes on.
"I guess Daffy took me to bed when the movie finished." Tina said to herself. "I better take a shower."
With that, Tina goes to the bathroom to take a shower. It was a warm and relaxing shower. She also has to makes sure that there is enough hot water for everyone to use. After that refreshing shower, Tina heads back to Daffy's room so that she can put on a fresh set of clean clothes. After getting change, Tina heads downstairs where she finds Daffy sleeping in the fouton. Tina sits on the matress amd stares at her sleeping boyfriend.
'He looks so cute when he's sleeping. He probably thought about me. I think I give him a nice awakening with a kiss.' Tina thought.
Tina leans forward and kisses Daffy on the beak. Daffy woke up to the feeling of Tina's beak touching his. His eyes open and the first sight he saw and loved is his beautiful girlfriend.
"Good morning, sleepy head." Tina said with a smile.
"Now that is the most beautiful sight I like to see when I wake up. My beautiful girlfriend." Daffy said with a smile.
With that, both Tina and Daffy heads for the kitchen to have breakfast.
For the rest of the week, Tina and her family stayed at Daffy's house, and Daffy's family gave the Russos a good hospitality. Frank and Susan even had the honor of meeting Happy. Afterwards, the Russos can finally head back to their home and go back to their normal ways.
