I'm not going to lie...I sat on this chapter for awhile because I was afraid I went too far off the tracks and I'd lose my readers, but well...it IS where this particular story is going so I hope you all can enjoy it. Remember I'm writing two other far more serious stories so if this is a bit too over the top give 'The Lady of Slytherin' and 'A Black Halloween' a shot.
Oh, emphasis here, Lilly is not immortal and she's going to be paying for her decisions later on, remember nothing is free, there is always a price, anyway enjoy and review my friends
Lillith awoke to a darkened room and nervously whispering voices, she felt oddly...light, like the weight of the world was finally lifted from her shoulders, cracking her eyes open fully she found herself meeting the red pupiled gaze of the Morrigan who was currently lounging in a beach chair. While the scarlet string bikini the beautiful and deadly goddess was sporting was rather fetching it really didn't mesh with Scotland in February; the redhaired woman daintely grasped a frozen drink with tropical fruit sticking out of the top and took a sip from its straw. Grinning the Morrigan tilted her glass in greeting,
"Lilly so good to see you, you might want to make yourself presentable though," sitting up Lilly 'eeped' as she realized she was naked, looking about she realized the dusty shack was in subdued tones and the edges to everything seemed muffled. Concluding that she was once again in a dreamscape she closed her eyes and thought a moment, now dressed in her favorite muggle jeans/t-shirt combo she turned to readdress the lounging goddess.
"First off, why are you dressed like that, second off where have you been you told me you'd be here to train me when my second term began, you know, a month and a half ago?" The Morrigan actually winced a bit but made no indication that she was going to move from her relaxed position,
"Well...the Valkyries and I spent some time drinking...a lot of time actually, and one of us, we really don't recall who suggested we mess with Loki, long story short after a brief prank war that may or may not have kicked off Ragnarok we decided to lie low and spent most of the past month in Maui. When I sensed you nearly dying I made it a point to show up here and offer my aid," Lilly stared at her blankly for what felt like hours, the Morrigan eventually gave her a rather sheepish smile and shrugged. Lifting her glasses and rubbing the bridge of her nose Lilly let out a long suffering sigh,
"Oooookay... well now that you're here what exactly is going on?" Standing up abruptly the goddess of death was suddenly bedecked in her blackened iron and leather armor and began walking in circles around Lilly 'hmming' to herself.
"Well, short version, Tom Riddle has struck Hogsmeade with the majority of his raw recruits and soon a second wave of dark creatures will move in to reinforce them, those nasty spider things in your forest, the giants, and of course the werewolves. Maybe a few vampires later but I think they're more inclined to treat with you to be honest, your work as head of the moderate party has intrigued them, anyway once a sizable auror force moves in to help with the mess well..."
She grinned evilly as the venue changed from the dilapidated shack she woke in to the streets of Diagon Alley, "once that happens his rather sizable seasoned forces are going to hit Diagon Alley, once the Auror's are suitably stretched he and his inner circle will strike the ministry to recover the prophecy." As the scenery suddenly erupted into flames the Morrigan let out a sentimental sigh, turning to the pale faced Lady she grinned wickedly, "The end result of having ones sanity back it would seem, he's going to be somewhat cross when he finds you've left a fake in its place though..."
Lilly fell to a knee and began hyperventilating, she'd have never thought the cascading butterfly effect she kicked off by going after Voldemort's horcruxes would have led to this, trying to pull herself together she lifted her head to meet the goddess's gaze.
"What...what can I do?" The redhead sighed and shifted back into her mini-Ginny form and landed next to Lilly with a huff, lying on her back she threw her arms behind her head and stared up to the smoke choked sky.
"Currently? Very little, Hermione has fully embraced her title of 'Lady of Ravenclaw' and is at the moment holding off the junior Death Eaters but she's only one woman, a very very angry and powerful woman but still. Neville will hopefully be claiming the title 'Lord Gryffindor' within the next few hours or he and many of The Fallen will perish, nice name by the way I approve. Somewhat ironically considering how close they are Susan or Hannah could potentially claim the 'Lady of Hufflepuff' since they're both very distantly related but they need an heirloom and to be blunt I have no idea where you'd find one."
Smirking the Alley shimmered and they found themselves back in Hogsmeade, it looked as if Armageddon had come, everything was moving in incredibly slow motion, she saw Luna and Draco taking shelter behind a wrecked wagon as the small blonde girl was cleaning a nasty gash across Draco's eye. Neville was kneeling with an automatic rifle at ready steadily firing controlled bursts at any Death Eaters that came into his sights, she grimaced in worry for her friends. Turning around she looked up above Honeydukes and saw Susan laying prone, a sniper rifle in hand its barrel resting on sandbags, Hannah was laying next to her with a pair of binoculars playing spotter as Daphne watched their rear with a rifle in hand.
Honestly, Lilly was a bit impressed with what she saw so far, the attack had only been going on for a short time and it looked like The Fallen had immedietly hit the weapons caches Moony and Padfoot had set up across the village. There was pockets of resistance throughout the blown out buildings, curses and automatic fire sporadically appearing between defensive positions, looking around a corner she smiled with pride as she observed Ginny waving a group of children through the candy stores front doors obviously trying to get them to the tunnels. Shaking her head she turned to the seemingly unconcerned goddess who was now in crone form,
"I see dozens of dead Death Eaters is Tom really willing to throw this many away for that prophecy?" The old woman rolled here eyes whilst spitting,
"Dear this is the 'C' team, new recruits from the continent and further abroad getting blooded for the first time, admitidly I doubt he expected to run into your little army, they've certainly made a showing for themselves." Sighing she shifted back to the young warrior woman while shaking her head, "But I doubt they'll hold out much longer, the Auror's are on their way and I'm fairly certain Bellatrix is already in flight in one of those tank things of yours but the dark creatures he's sending in will brutalize you."
Worrying her lip Lilly rubbed her temples trying to think, she glanced to her left seeing a massive explosion in the distance, the fireball silhouetting her statuesque girlfriend as Hermione leveled all those before her. She felt her heart pang at the sight, her lovely bookworm had killed, she'd tried to keep her from the worst of her machinations but it was all for naught. Turning to the Morrigan she calmly stated,
"What can I do, how can I stop this? There has to be something, anythiing," Looking at the ravenette warily the Morrigan sighed,
"Yes, there is, you see you were hurt rather badly, Hermione did a fairly good job of putting you back together but it was a temporary fix and you'd be incapable of fighting, but..." She sighed again this time sounding resigned, "If...you ally yourself with me, become my apprentice rather than simply a contracted student I can lend you my power. I really hate saying it but you'd probably need it too, Tom has meddled with powers he has no real understanding of and it's made him quite...formidable." Lilly looked a bit shocked at this, cocking her head while her brows furrowed together she asked,
"Wait wait wait, you said the entire reason I was worth noticing was because I'm unaffiliated with any pantheons, wouldn't this kind of ruin that?" The Morrigan shrugged,
"Not really, you aren't worshiping me, the problem is if you accept you'll be channeling Fey magic, which you've never done before and it will further strain your already injured body. I'm going to be honest, I really don't want to do this since I'll be obligated to show you the ropes for the next few years, but I'm offering since it is kind of my fault you weren't better prepared." Frowning Lilly turned back to the battlefield to see a terrified Neville opening fire on a giant that seemingly came from nowhere, she was pleased to see several RPG's fly from the broken windows of the Hogs Head towards the towering behemoth but it wouldn't be enough.
"What about Tom, shouldn't I confront him?" Looking a bit surprised the Morrigan raised a single brow,
"And leave your friends to their own devices?" Watching the scene unfold she turned as Neville dove out of the way of being bludgeoned by the giants tree trunk club, Draco had pulled Luna to the side and the pair stared up in horror as the the giant was about to simply step on them. Neville had completed his roll ending up behind the giant and if the look on his face was any indicator he was furious, just as it looked like the two blondes would perish Neville charged forward, there was a weird warping of light around his right hand and suddenly he was swinging a sword at the giants exposed ankle.
Hamstringing the lumbering beast it flailed about as it fell backwards causing an earthquake when it contacted the ground, Neville hurried over to the wide eyed Draco and Luna helping them both to their feet. Lilly smirked at seeing Neville brandishing the Sword of Gryffindor in one hand and a wand in the other, walking up to the ghostly figures that had all sped up to normal speed as she spoken with the goddess she leaned in and whispered in her cousins ear.
He had a lost look on his face for a moment and he began speaking as he stared down at the sword, there was no sound but it didn't matter, after a moment his eyes were overtaken by fire the color of rubies. Much like she and Hermione had experienced he was encircled by pulsing flames and when they cleared he was covered in gold gilded plate armor, a crimson cape and hood hanging around his shoulders.
Luna and Draco looked at him in shock but the slightly round faced boy...no young man stood up tall and bellowed...something, Lilly kinda wished she could hear him lay down the law but she'd have to be content with the penny show. As the world fully took on normal speed Hermione appeared next to him, she was now in her Ravenclaw war robes, her vinewood wand in one hand and Lilly's Elder Wand in the other, she nodded to him slowly and the pair began walking into the thick of the fighting as a trio of Soviet tanks rolled into the town square opening fire on the approaching acromantulas.
Lilly turned to the incredulous looking goddess and quirked a small smile,
"I think they've got this," shaking her head as more tanks, auror's, and Fallen charged into the battle the Morrigan placed her hand on Lilly's shoulder and they appeared back in the shack, Lilly could now see that her body lay there prone, Colin and Dennis Creevey watching the battle outside through the broken windows in wide eyed shock. Sighing the red haired goddess offered her hand,
"Well here goes nothing, if this gets you killed I want to hear no whinging understand?" Saluting sarcastically Lilly took the offered hand and grinned,
"I've certainly tumbled down an interesting rabbit hole this year, ok...lets do this." There was a flash of light than Lillith sat up gasping and groaning in pain, the Creevey brothers turned around looking at her in surprise, her limbs felt heavy and she ached all over, swinging her legs over the edge of the table she'd found herself on she hopped down wavering a bit. She grimaced realizing she was missing both her wands, then the Morrigan spoke,
"They say blood is the currency of the soul, and your magic is bound to your essence, think about it for a moment," pausing Lilly looked at her blood stained hand a moment then quirked up an eyebrow, focusing for a moment the blood that soaked her form, a lovely reminder of her near death, moved to gather in her hand. The brothers (and hell, the Lady of Slytherin for that matter) watched in shock as the blood formed into a long tapered sword, staring at it dubiously she pointed to the far wall and cast a stunner, sure enough a splintered hole was blasted through the thin wall.
"That's...interesting..." turning to the boys she gave them a sheepish smile, Dennis spoke up first gulping as he did so,
"Is...is that normal?" Scoffing Lilly made for the door while waving over her shoulder,
"No little one, that's my freaking life."
If I didn't lose my entire reader base after this one next chapter will be Lilly confronting Tom and it spilling out into the muggle world as well as the Black sisters and company reminding the Death Eaters why the name Black is to be feared. Please review, I really need to know if I screwed this one up.
