Nayru's Note: I just… watched the Lupin The 3rd vs. Detective Conan Movie. Words can't even describe what kind of a masterpiece that thing is. I lost my shit so many times, I thought I'd die. My leg hurts from punches that I couldn't control during my laughing fits. It was beautiful. So beautiful. The experience was honestly life-changing and I think my brain will never be the same again.
ALL THE BROSHIPSSSSFUUUU 11/10 would cripple myself again
*Ahem.* Now, onto fic-related matters! I happened to get a review with someone freaking out about the rating change in my story and I feel like I should clarify something.
I didn't want to change the rating of the story to M because I was suddenly planning to include smut in it. So, rest assured, to anyone who's been worried about it - this story will not contain any actual smut! I just wanted to stay on the safe side regarding future descriptions of possible murder cases, corpses, dark humor, sexual humor and the language in general.
But I did some more thorough research regarding ratings because of this, and the T section showed the following: "May contain violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood, simulated gambling and/or infrequent use of strong language." And… I suppose this fic still stays inside of the border of that. So I'm going to change it back to T again, if that will make people more comfortable with the whole thing. Just be aware that I reserve the right to change back to M if the descriptions were to change in any way, or I end up wanting to make a more graphic description of a murder scene or anything regarding violence because of whatever reason in the future. We cool?
Beside that, I suppose this chapter might be described as 'fanservice at its finest,' and I already came to terms with the fact that it will be either hilarious or it will ruin the whole story completely. Let me juggle with those knives. And blame it all on the alcohol.
Sit back and enjoy.
~4 Idiots In A Closet~
Chapter 11: The king's game
"There are… two Kaitos."
"It does seem that way, doesn't it?" Akako let go of her female classmate and took a few steps forward to circle around the newly-appeared teen. She observed him as if he were some kind of fascinating creature. "Interesting…"
"Guys, I know we look… somewhat alike." 'Somewhat alike' was an understatement, but Kuroba kept his poker face and went on, hoping the witch would stop being creepy soon enough. "But this here is Kudo Shinichi, a friend of mine. Not a robot, clone or a long-lost twin, honest. Try not to be rude."
All in all, this was also the very first time Kaito got to see the 'real' Shinichi in person. And while he had a very good idea about them looking alike… Truth to be told, the scale of their resemblance surprised even him a bit, now that he could interact with him face-to-face.
He had the feeling Hakuba was even more surprised than either of them were, though.
"He's buddies with Hattori - and before you ask, he was also there when I met with the detectives back on that case that we mentioned earlier," Kaito explained, trying to cover their tracks and make all of this seem plausible. "I don't believe the rest of you has met him yet. Right, Hakuba?"
Saguru seemed to get the message and stopped staring, quickly composing himself to play along to the whole game. "Ah… Yes. I've heard a lot about you, Kudo-kun. It's nice to finally meet you in person."
Shinichi simply gave him a somewhat crooked smile. "Hakuba Saguru, right? Likewise to both."
"Well, this is Nakamori Aoko and Koizumi Akako, both are my classmates," Kuroba added, figuring they might as well get over with the introductions. … Even if, technically, they were doing it a second time that evening.
"Two Kaitos…" Aoko went on again.
"Aoko, I need you to concentrate. I'm Kaito," the thief pointed out again, hoping it would finally get through to her. "This is Shinichi."
"But…"
The girl hopped a little closer, and with a tilt of her head she started to stare Shinichi straight in the eye. He just blinked back at her, a little uncertain.
Kuroba had to give his favorite critic some credit, though, because he seemed to be a lot less overwhelmed with her inspecting him, this time. He needed to feel a lot more confident in his own, grown body, and Kid supposed that only made sense.
Everyone stared in silence as Aoko suddenly tangled her fingers in Kudo's shirt and unceremoniously mashed her face into his shoulder. Shinichi didn't budge, even if he seemed both a little horrified and totally lost.
Was she… sniffing him?!
"If you're not Kaito, why are you dressed in his clothes?" The girl pulled away, but she didn't let go, giving the teen she was clinging to a frown and a pout.
Aoko was drunk, and yet, her wit seemed as sharp as ever. Kaito knew they were childhood friends, but did she honestly have to remember what kind of clothes his bloody wardrobe consisted of?!
"That's because he got his own dirty on his way here and I lent him something he could change into," the magician explained in a calm tone, catching the girl by the shoulders to try and yank her away from their horrified friend. "Aoko, stop pestering our guest."
"Oooh~ That makes sense, then! Sorry!" Nakamori threw her hands up in the air at the realization, sending herself swaying backwards, and Kuroba was sure she'd end up on the floor if he didn't catch her. "Kudo-kun, got it! I'll try not to mix you two up!" She saluted.
Kaito honestly wasn't sure if he should give her more alcohol or keep it away from her for the rest of the night.
Meanwhile, Shinichi tried to act as if he didn't almost have a heart attack. "I'd appreciate it…"
"You're also a detective?" The witch suddenly interrupted them.
"That's right," Kudo nodded. "I'm a high-school detective, just like Hattori and Hakuba."
"I'm still better than ya are!" Heiji teased from somewhere behind his friend, making him immediately perk up and give the other an unimpressed look.
"Keep dreaming!"
"Hmm… That makes you the fourth," the girl mused with a smile. "I didn't know Kuroba-kun had a hobby consisting of befriending detectives."
"The fourth?"
"Together with the small boy that's still been here barely a few minutes ago." He really didn't like the way Akako said that. "Speaking of which…"
"Oh, speaking of which!" Aoko suddenly yelled in realization, interrupting them both. "Where is Conan-kun?"
"Ah, right, I forgot to tell you… His guardian came to pick him up a few minutes ago," Kaito offered a quick explanation before anyone else could do the job. "Well, he's still a kid and it was getting a bit late, so..."
"Aww, really? And I didn't get to say goodbye…" Aoko seemed sad.
"Don't worry, I'm sure you'll have plenty of opportunities to see him again." Kuroba patted his childhood friend on the shoulder. Well, that was assuming Shinichi would change back, but from what he's heard so far, the chances of him remaining the way he was were kind of slim. "Now come, let's get this party rolling! We don't want to stand there and chat all night, do we?"
Since the whole thing with Aoko's drunken state was out, anyway, Kaito figured there wasn't much of a point in being sneaky about it anymore. Especially when Shinichi also insisted about wanting to drink more for 'research purposes,' himself.
Hence why the booze hit the table out in the open. The magician did a lot or research when it came to all kinds of colorful and tasty drinks before, and he came prepared with the ingredients (hey, Jii-chan didn't have that billiard parlor of his for nothing), offering to make something special for each of his friends, according to their tastes.
Hakuba was the most grumpy about the whole thing, but he stopped caring as much after getting his first drink. It happened to be an U-Boot, consisting of beer and a shot glass of vodka sunk into the middle. He liked sour things, right? Beer and vodka were a good combination of sour. … And both combined kicked you twice as fast.
Aoko happened to get a Blue Kamikaze. It was fairly sweet and fitted her name well, in a sense. She seemed to like it, so score. Although Kaito made sure to add more of everything else beside the actual alcohol for her. She couldn't hold her liquor for the life of her and they didn't need her passing out on them from overdoing it.
Heiji wanted something spicy. A drink with Tabasco sauce, then… Or better yet, he could aim even higher with actual chili peppers, instead. A 'Prairie Fire' or 'Hot in Rio' seemed like good candidates, and when Hattori admitted that he wouldn't mind it being somewhat sweet, too, he decided to go along with the former.
For Akako… either a 'Bloody Mary' or 'Death in the Afternoon.' Kaito saw no other options. The witch smirked at him and chose the first one, pointing out that she wouldn't mind trying out the second during the next round.
Shinichi figured that he might as well drink both gin and vodka, to make things funny. The joke wasn't lost on him, and while Kaito took the request to heart, he came up with something even better. A Long Island Iced Tea, which consisted not only of gin and vodka, but also tequila and rum combined. 'Drinking the alcohol of one's enemies' developed a whole new meaning that night. It also didn't defeat the higher purpose, since mixing different kinds of alcohol was the fastest path to nirvana.
For himself, Kaito made something that went by the humble name of 'Death by Chocolate.' The name alone was pretty self-explanatory, and he couldn't possibly be more satisfied with the outcome.
"Hey, guys, how about we play a game?" Kaito suggested, raising his already half-empty glass up in the air. "Like poker, or truth or dare…"
"I'm not playing any kind of card games with you!" Aoko yelled, immediately on defense. "Everyone knows you'd cheat the hell out of us and win without even trying!"
Damn. Well, she knew him well.
"And while 'truth or dare' sounds tempting, I'm actually against it under current circumstances, as well," Hakuba thew in his own two cents. "I wouldn't be able to ask most of the things I'd actually like to ask of you."
One didn't need to be a genius to figure out the implication behind his words, and Saguru did have somewhat of a point. They wouldn't be able to ask him anything regarding Kaitou Kid with the girls around.
Which also made Kaito wonder, though. Did that mean Hakuba had some specific questions he wanted to ask him, but didn't? He had a lot of opportunities, especially while staying over at his place quite often lately, so he kind of wondered what was stopping him if that was indeed the case.
He would hold onto that thought.
"Okay, then." Kuroba finally spoke up, coming to terms with the fact that his ideas were shot down. "That means we're playing the King's Game!"
Everyone blinked, gazes set on the magician.
"Well, that one's mostly harmless, I suppose… As long as the orders aren't too extreme." Saguru mused.
"And as long as Kaito gets to draw last," Aoko pointed out, almost shoving a finger in his face.
Well, she had reasons to be wary, and Kaito was kind of amused that she still had it in her to worry about such things.
"Deal. The King's Game it is~" Was the cheerful agreement. "To make things more exciting, I want to establish one new rule, though," Kuroba announced. "Aside from the order, whichever numbers the King picks will also need to drink a little something before they go through with the challenge. I'll be the one making the shots, of course. Consider it a bit of a bonus, for encouragement~"
"In other words… You're planning to get everyone drunk."
Kaito smiled at Saguru for following. "Let us relax and have some good fun, shall we?" The magician lifted his drink up in the air, inviting everyone to join in. "Cheers!"
The 'little something' Kaito had in mind turned out to be shots called 'Mad Dogs,' consisting of vodka, raspberry syrup (though that one could be changed to any other kind, according to taste) and a few drops of Tabasco sauce. Easy to drink in one go and quite yummy, at that. As long as they didn't mess with the proportions too much, everyone should have been able to handle it and not pass out somewhere under the table.
Well, beside Aoko. Aoko was doomed from the start. Kaito was honestly starting to wonder if giving her any kind of alcohol was a good idea to begin with. If Inspector Nakamori ever found out what Kaito had done to his daughter, he'd probably kill him.
It was just everyone's luck that she happened to be the first to draw the stick with the King.
And so, the game began.
"I order for number one to… rest their head on number four's lap!"
Heiji grumpily looked around, wondering who number four was. The odds of it being the remaining nee-chan were twenty five percent, but maybe he'd get lucky. Akako was a girl and she was pretty, so he'd definitely mind it the least with her…
When Hakuba lifted his hand, looking neither pissed nor pleased, he figured his luck sucked ass from a straw.
Hattori wanted to die.
"Yay for bonding experiences…" The Osakan teen grumbled while taking the filled shot glass which was offered to him by a very amused Kaito. Well, at least the stuff was good. Maybe if he drank enough of it, he'd forget all about the humiliation he was about to feel.
Just like Kuroba taught them and insisted the announced pairs go along with it every time, the two boys hooked their arms together and drank their respective Mad Dogs synchronously in one go. Heiji tried not to cough as he felt the burning sensation hit the back of his throat, and for a moment there he wondered if their mischievous host didn't pour in more Tabasco into his drink than he should have. He did mention wanting a spicier drink earlier, but Kaito shouldn't have taken that so much to heart!
And then Saguru crossed his legs and rested his arms on the head rest of the couch like some kind of king, throwing him a smirk as if to tell he was ready and waiting, and Heiji wanted to die even more.
The dark-skinned detective figured ripping off the band-aid and just going for it instead of lowering himself slowly would be less awkward, so he just threw himself to the inevitable. He hoped his grumpy expression was getting enough of a message across in regards to what he thought about the whole thing.
He heard Kaito snorting and the sound of a camera shutter going off.
"I'm starting to like this game," Hakuba sounded all smug and mighty about it and Heiji seriously felt like tearing strands of hair out of his own head.
"… And I'm startin' ta hate it."
"Well, enjoy yourself down there while you can."
The second person to draw the stick with the King… was Aoko, as well.
"Tee-hee~ I order… Hmm, let's see…" The girl turned thoughtful before cheerfully coming up with an idea the next moment. "I order number three to hug number two from behind!"
And, of course, number two had to be… Akako. Kaito vaguely wondered if this game was bound to be a game of worst case scenarios. Which was only making the whole thing more hilarious, granted, even if he was bound to be on the receiving end of things.
Well, worse things could always happen, he supposed.
With their share of drinks down and over with, Kuroba went over the couch to get behind the witch and snaked his arms around her shoulders without dwelling too much on it. This wasn't that much different from the time they danced together, he kept telling himself.
He tried to ignore the way Akako was smiling and how Hattori was the one to make blackmail photos with his phone this time.
"Did you think about my offer?" They were already this close, where others wouldn't be able to overhear them that easily. It was a good time to bring up the topic again as any.
"I did, actually," the witch answered with ease, sounding well aware of what he was talking about. "To think that you'd go to such lengths for your friends, Kuroba-kun."
"Not like you'd understand." Was he being cold again? His bad. "So, did you come up with anything yet?"
"I do have an idea, yes," Akako informed. "But the thing I want in exchange… I don't want it from you."
Kaito blinked. "Not from me?"
"I want it from the other magician."
"Other m—" She meant Kid. Wh… Oh, boy.
Well, there was no use denying it anymore. Ever since Akako lent him a hand while accompanying both Aoko and him - in the disguise of Inspector Nakamori - to the tower, it was somewhat of an unspoken admission of his, anyway…
He hated the fact that he didn't know what he was signing up for with all of this, exactly. And he already knew that Koizumi could be ruthless, but… he honestly wondered what lengths she could go to with this.
"I can pass the message over to him."
"Wonderful." The witch seemed pleased. "We shall talk about this later on, in private."
Yeah, Kaito had a very bad feeling about this.
When Aoko drew the King for the third time in a row, people were starting to wonder.
"Wow, Aoko's so lucky today~" The fuzzy-haired girl giggled in amusement.
"… Kuroba, are you doing this?" Saguru raised an eyebrow, giving his classmate a suspicious look.
"I'm not doing anything, I swear!"
"I order for number five to sit in number one's lap!"
Everyone turned silent and Shinichi figured he could use another drink right about now. Whoever had the number five…
"So, who's the lucky devil~?"
Kaito had the number five. He wasn't sure whether to feel horrified or… relieved that it wasn't Aoko, at least. Yeah, he could stick to the latter. And with how happy-go-lucky the thief seemed to be, perhaps this wouldn't be as awkward as with anyone else in the room.
Shinichi could have dreamed for a while.
"… Of course you had to sit like this."
Couldn't Kaito have, like… sat like a normal person? To the side, for instance? Not straddle him while facing him, with his hands pressed to his shoulders for support? Well, with just one of his hands, for now, since they were still both holding on to their drinks.
Down, those went.
"Hey, I'm using the opportunity while I can. Under normal circumstances, we'd have to do this the other way around."
"You're assuming I'd ever sit in your lap under normal circumstances." Shinichi gave the magician a flat, unimpressed look. "You know, usually, any sane person wouldn't be this happy to— s-stop bouncing like that, dear God."
"Never." Amused and enjoying himself? Kaito definitely was. "Your guys' reactions are too amusing not to take advantage of."
As if delighted by the idea to make things worse, the thief went ahead and threw his arms around his neck, making their position even more intimate. Shinichi felt like his personal bubble was being violated, and even the alcohol didn't seem to help much.
"Relax, Shin-chan, I'm not going to bite."
"Shin-chan?" Could anyone blame him for sounding so puzzled? "… Right."
Of course. Kuroba couldn't call him Tantei-kun right now, because of obvious reasons. Why did the thief choose to call him anything beside his actual last or first name was beyond him, but apparently Kid wasn't willing to work with anything else.
Shinichi could play his game and call him 'Kai-chan,' too, but that was already reserved for other situations… like the kind that happened back at the agency.
"Should I call you Kaito?"
That made the other smile, and why wasn't Shinichi even surprised. "If you'd like. No complaints on my side."
The fourth King happened to be… Hakuba, for a change.
"Very well, then. I order… number one to kiss number three, on the hand."
Kaito knew the blond had no sense of fun whatsoever. "Just on the hand?"
Saguru simply gave him an unimpressed look. "Are you one of the numbers again?"
"Nope~ Not this time."
"I am number one!" Aoko chirped, giggling drunkenly.
"Oh, boy…"
"And I'm three…" The admission came from Heiji.
Well, that ought to be fun. It wasn't every day that one got to see a girl kissing a guy on the hand, right?
The fifth stick with the King went to Hattori.
"Ha! Let's see… I order number two ta bite number… five, on da ear."
Kaito laughed. "You know how to party, at least."
"I don't want to play this game anymore…" Shinichi announced with displease, which only made the magician laugh more.
"Come on, Shin-chan, it's not that bad! Maybe you just need another drink~"
"Well, this is an interesting turn of events."
Akako. Akako was number two.
Kaito suddenly wasn't laughing anymore.
Though while he wondered if this wasn't bound to be of some kind of unexpected consequence to them later on (who knew what that witch was capable of - for all he knew, biting people might have been another method of bewitching her victims or whatever) he had to admit, having a photo of a terrified and blushing Shinichi added to his collection was… kind of worth it.
The sixth King belonged to Kaito. Finally. Oh, he's been waiting for this all along, and he believed everyone was drunk enough to spice things up a bit.
"I order the next number to kiss someone! … On the lips."
"… Wait." Of course, Hakuba needed to be the one to complain. "Isn't that a bit too extreme?"
But Kuroba was prepared. "Anyone who's in a committed relationship, raise your hand."
Shinichi seemed to be the only one to hesitate, but… In the end, nobody did.
"See? We're all free souls here. Jealousy issues and possible break-ups should be out of the way. And this is just supposed to be some harmless fun, anyway."
Kudo just sighed in defeat, going to fetch himself another drink. Aoko was obviously too drunk to care and just yelled a cheerful "yay!" Akako said that she wouldn't mind and looked rather intrigued by the idea.
And thus, Heiji concluded: "Well… if the ladies are okay with it, I'm also okay with it."
It was four against two. Kind of.
"… The things you make us agree to sometimes." Hakuba still didn't look too thrilled but that wasn't a 'no.'
"Hey, when in doubt, blame it on the alcohol." Kaito spoke with a smile, as if those were supposed to be the wisest words in existence. "And the lucky numbers are~" The magician announced and stalled for some suspense. "I order number one to kiss… number four!"
Shinichi's expression of 'screw everything, I'm getting myself another drink and just don't care anymore' turned into 'mildly horrified.'
And while everyone else looked at one another, Heiji hesitantly started to rub the back of his head. "Ah, crap… well, who's number…?" One look at Shinichi and clearly no further answer was needed. "… Four."
If Shinichi could possibly look even more horrified at that point, he would.
"Oh my~" Akako concluded with intrigue.
Kaito fell down to the floor and started to laugh uncontrollably while rolling left and right.
"… What's da penalty for not going along with a challenge again?"
"Running around the street naked!" Kuroba laughed harder.
"I need a drink," Heiji concluded. "Or two. Or three."
"Likewise, Hattori," Shinichi murmured. "Likewise."
"I'm on the case!"
Soon enough, there were all kinds of colorful drinks before them. And as many Mad Dogs as they wanted. Or needed. Kaito delivered.
Nobody needed to tell either Kudo or Hattori twice what to do with them.
"I'm actually glad you're in yer normal body right now." Heiji confessed after two shots. "… Not that it's making this any less awkward."
"And I'm actually glad that Ran and Kazuha aren't here with us," Shinichi countered, not sounding any more amused with the situation.
"Point taken." And another shot was gone. "This is, like… breaking the bro code or something… Things like dis shouldn't be allowed!"
"Tell me about it." Kudo rolled his eyes. "You're the one who voted for this yourself."
"This isn't what I had in mind!" The Osakan teen protested. "And unlike you… I haven't even kissed anyone before."
That made Shinichi look back at him, his unimpressed expression not wavering. "How do you know I did?"
"… Didn't you?"
Kaito wondered if he shouldn't be reminding them of the order, but then again their conversation was starting to get more and more interesting. He was willing to stall it, as long as he had the opportunity to listen in on it. Which he did.
"Well… there was that one time, but I'm not sure you can count that as a kiss, since I was… you know." Shinichi scrambled for words as he tried to remember his little underwater adventure which almost got him drowned. "And Ran was trying to…"
"Your girl kissed you… when you were seven," Heiji pointed out, as if he wasn't sure if he was understanding that right.
"Like I said, that wasn't exactly a kiss…"
"There's somethin' seriously wrong with ya guys. Just saying." The dark-skinned teen mashed a hand into his face. "… Dear God, I'm not drunk enough for this."
"Just imagine I'm Kazuha." Kudo offered, drinking another shot. "And I'll imagine you're… Ran."
"And how is dat not making dis worse?"
"… Yeah. That's making it worse."
"Wow, you guys are a team." Kaito was somewhat in awe. "But okay, come on~ Before the Sun goes up!"
Shinichi looked like he wanted to bash his head against the wall. "We never talk about this."
"Ya don't have ta tell me twice."
Heiji put his hand on Shinichi's shoulder in an almost robot-like movement, as if resolving himself to the inevitable.
And then they just stared at each other in silence.
For a whole minute flat.
"Come on, guys! It's not that hard! You're thinking on it too much…"
Kaito had the weird impression they didn't even hear him. Hence why he decided to take matters into his own hands and give them a quite literal push.
Sneaking around was a piece of cake right now, and the thief had no problem to shove Heiji towards the other teen. The Osakan detective smashed his face flat into Shinichi's shoulder and they both fell to the floor, in a panicking heap of limbs.
"I can't do this!" Hattori yelled, defeated and miserable.
Wow. Just, wow.
"Get off of me, you idiot," Kudo demanded, trying to free himself from under the other's weight. "I may be drunk but I'm definitely not drunk enough for this. I quit!"
"Gosh, you guys are hopeless."
Kuroba rolled his eyes, though he was actually more amused than anything.
"Okay, okay! Just… kiss one another on the cheek or something," he finally offered to save his friends' sanity. "As penalty for failing the order, you're cleaning the whole house tomorrow!"
Hattori was the one to get the King on the seventh round.
"I order number five to repeat the last challenge. With number four." The words were recited with no hesitation whatsoever, as if the whole thing was already prepared and waiting.
Number five was Kaito. And he already had a feeling he knew where this was going. Number four needed to be Hakuba.
"Hattori, you little cheat! You knew what our numbers were, didn't you?" He should have been angry, but he was somewhat proud of the Osakan teen for pulling it off, instead.
"How could I have possibly known that?" Heiji just shrugged, faking innocence.
Kaito grumpily stared at his stick, before turning to look at his partner for the challenge. Hakuba just blinked at him, giving him a rather flat look. What he actually thought about the whole thing, the magician wasn't really able to tell.
"… I guess all four of us are cleaning the house tomorrow, then," he eventually concluded.
"Ya still need ta kiss one another on da cheek! And do it like ya mean it!"
"Revenge is sweet, ain't it?"
"Yeah, it should be…" Shinichi stared at his phone, observing the photo he's just taken. "But I'm not sure who I'd be actually blackmailing with this."
Kaito looked just like him. The photo looked like it was Shinichi himself, kissing Hakuba. Needless to say, it was making him… feel a little weird.
"Okay! Last order from all da previous victims, so that da girls won't feel left out…" Heiji suddenly announced, gesturing to their female friends. "Nee-chan, do da honors, would ya?"
"Hmm~?" Akako seemed intrigued, but it didn't take long for her to figure out what Hattori was trying to get at. "Well, I'm not intending to clean anyone's house tomorrow. Nakamori-san… If I may."
"Wha—?" Aoko blinked, comprehension a little off. "O-Oh…"
The witch lifted the other girl's chin up with her hand - like a proper gentleman would - and without hesitating, she went ahead and kissed her on the lips. Aoko just blinked, clearly startled, and unable to stop the blush on her cheeks from spreading.
All the guys just stared. Both in surprise… and intrigue.
Kaito wondered countless times if he'd ever feel jealous if something like this happened, but… to his surprise, he didn't. Maybe it just didn't work with Aoko's 'partner' being a girl.
Speaking of which… Koizumi didn't bewitch other girls, right? … Right?
It also occurred to Kaito that Akako needed to be the most daring of them all, when it came to this kind of thing... Or at least she had a composure of steel in regards to it. Hakuba might have been second, surprisingly. He seemed to handle it all pretty well, once the alcohol hit the scene. Or maybe he just didn't care.
But all in all, Kuroba had to admit, Hattori had some good ideas, sometimes.
"Ya taking photos?" Heiji suddenly whispered into Kaito's ear, unable to pry his gaze away from the girls before them.
"Are you kidding?" The thief asked as if the answer was obvious. "I'm filming the whole thing."
"Nice."

Nayru's Note: So… how did it go? Is this chapter as horrible as I think it is? I struggled with it a whole lot, and despite re-writing a few scenes to oblivion, some of them still feel somewhat… I don't know. I guess I feel a bit bad for writing it, in general.
And yeah, the party isn't over yet. But more plotty things will happen alongside the next chapter, at least, so yay? Kaito should prepare himself for some heart attacks. 8D;
