Chapter 8 - Part 1

"Would it be bad if I told you I'm falling?" I ask. She gives me a look that has confusion written all over it.

"Your highness, if you're going to fall…" she starts. I cocked an eyebrow and asked, "Are you going to catch me?"

She grins and replies, "If you're going to fall, fall in love."

If only she knew how the hell I felt about her. I swipe the blonde locks covering the left rims of her face, my face dangerously close to her earlobe.

"Elsa, what is this?" I point to a frost tattoo on her neck. She tries to cover it but I swat her hand away.

"It's nothing—" she tries to say. I inch my face closer, my breath fanning and wandering around her neck. I hear a curse escaping her lips, "S-stop it, Jack."

"Not going to unless you tell me." I say in a teasing manor, despite being absolutely serious. She bites her bottom lip which drives me insane. What can you say? We're hormonal teenagers.

"It's a birth mark."

I laugh, and stop whatever I was planning to do with her delicate neck. She giggles

Her eyes widen at the site of my earlobe, which is a bit…disarming?

"Jack, you have one similar to mine." She points to my piercing. It's not one of those 'punk-rock-rebellious' sort of piercing if you're wondering.

"Elsa, that's a piercing."

"I know, but…why is there a snowflake earring on it?" she asks out of curiosity.

Curiosity killed the cat, did it not?

"My mother attached it to me right after birth, she would say it's a powerful spell of some sort." Elsa doesn't seem to believe it, which makes the situation a lot harder than it should be.

But that's all I really know. My dad—well, he never really told me what this ear piece means, I doubt he even knows it's on my ear.

"Can I?" she asks, gesturing to the earring. I nod and she gently tries to take it off, but a sudden jolt of mint and coldness takes over right at that very spot.

"Sh—" I curse softly, not wanting her to hear me say such peasant words. She flinches in response to the sudden jolt but then continues what she was doing.

"Does it hurt?" I simply nod and my right hand lightly grazes the very spot.

I didn't expect blood red snow on my fingertips. The snow isn't the kind of soft one either.

"Jack!" she exclaims, "W-what's going on? Y-you never told me you were one of them!" she shouts. My head spins and feels a lot heavier than it should be. I reach out to grab her dress to stop me from falling too hard and that's when I realized that a frost pattern follows my fingertips on to her dress, covering them in spiky patterns that didn't suite her beautiful appearance.

"I have no idea what the hell you mean!" I groan, clutching my chest.

"You have powers that some can only imagine," she whispers, before adding a snarky comeback. "But none of my callibar of course, right now that doesn't matter."

"We need to get you home, right now." She deadpans and I can only wonder how the hell I'm supposed to 'get home' when I have random bloody ice on my chest and spiky patterns to whatever I touch.

"I kinda feel like Midas," I say with a smirk, trying to distract myself from the excruciating pain by teasing her.

"The king?" she asks with a high tone as she pants for a source of oxygen.

"Yeah," I reply.

"Everything he touched turned to gold, genius."

"Everything I touch ends up with ugly patterns. Doesn't that ring a bell?" I smirk as she sighs exasperatingly.

"Winters."

"What?" she questions, probably very annoyed as she kicked a twig across the tall grass.

"Am I going to be okay?"

"Just shut up and sleep you big baby."

I groan before succumbing back to the horrible pain spreading.

Hi everyone. I felt extremely guilty for not updating after not one, but TWO weeks.

The truth is, I've been on vacation and what's occupying my mind is my future so called 'book'. I'm currently writing a story about bullying and insecurity, about a teenage girl who struggles with them and overcomes these obstacles with the help of four bad boys who treat her a lot like a sister.

Leave a review if you're interested or anything. (:

This chapter is a 'Part 1' because I'm not done writing 'Part 2' and I just missed you all so much. I will be replying to reviews in the previous chapter and this chapter in the next part. I'm really sorry, it's like 1:05 AM right now.

Lalalallauuuuuf you guys.

~Michelle. (If you're wondering, I read all the reviews already!)
