He was Naruto freaking Uzumaki damnit! Future Hokages wouldn't let things like video game rules and World enslaving monsters stop him from saving his precious people! Even if he had to crawl through their personal nightmares to wake them up! Another 'Naruto in a game' styled fic but with my own personal twist. Slow start but will end with epic battles.

8. Day 4- A Brief Respite

Day-4 A brief Respite

Naruto felt his vision twist and let out a sigh in relief, it finally was over, he had won! He had won his first gauntlet and could take a break!

Slowly he opened his eyes and groaned as all new aches and pains made themselves known to him. Naruto got up and found himself on the couch opposite of Tenten, who was beginning to stir. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Higurashi sitting at the dining room table.

Higurashi was currently reading the newspaper over a bowl of some nameless cereal and he munched slowly the sound echoing through the room.

"Morning," Naruto gasped out and realised several things at once, he was incredibly thirsty, had to use the bathroom badly, and was starving. Higurashi meanwhile choked on a cornflake and turned around in a blur.

"Kid! You're awake!" Higurashi blurted out out and rushed over forgetting his breakfast. "How's my darling? Is she okay?! What happened?" he burst out all at once and Naruto got up slowly feeling a monster headache kick in.

"Everything's fine, she should wake up any second now, where's the bathroom?" Naruto said holding his bladder in check.

"Um… You just saved my daughter and the first thing-" Higurashi began nonplussed

"Bathroom. Now." Naruto ground out, apparently Higurashi didn't understand the gravity of his situation.

"Er… down the hall door next to the stairs." Higurashi said chuckling. Naruto got up and tried to ignore the head-rush that hit him. Finally after answering the call of nature Naruto came back to find Tenten was still asleep and Higurashi stressing over her.

"Why is she still asleep? Is she going to be okay?" Higurashi said flitting between biting his nails, tearing out his hair and running around. Before Naruto could say anything, a gigantic puff of smoke burst in the living room and he could hear a familiar feminine voice hacking and coughing.

Naruto an eyebrow, he'd almost forgotten about her.

"Maker, the release for these spells is awful," Vashaan said walking out of the smoke, her appearance completely altered. Instead of purple flames for hair, she had long Charcoal black hair drawn into a ponytail that ended just above her backside. She was more humanly proportioned, and did not have any horns. The only thing that gave away her demonic heritage; was her bright yellow eyes with thin animal like slits for pupils, and her skin was a pale lavender colour.

She had changed outfits too and was wearing leather armour that was only slightly revealing, but still hugged her ever present curves and large…

Naruto shook himself and realised there were questions that needed answers, but first.

"Uh, Higurashi meet Vashaan… the succubus."

In the end Tenten had awoken and after an explanation of the events to both her and Higurashi, all eyes turned to Vashaan who blushed a violet colour at the attention.

"Well to be honest the form I had in there was just… well… that wasn't actually how I looked like," she said "In reality I'm just a low-level demon who was given temporary powers and a position. I was actually a slave to a higher powered demon but since I'm weak nobody's ever paid me much mind and I was just a maid really."

"Can you explain to us what's going on at least?" Naruto asked, "Who is Cabadon… and why is he trying to take over the world? Why is everything in a game? And why are you not all 'Grr I'm evil!'" Naruto made a few gestures that apparently made one evil. Vashaan sucked in a breath and began,

"Well to begin, a long time ago, ancient sages from a different plane of existence sealed Cabadon into a forgotten backwater planet with little life on it. His presence on the planet must have driven it into overdrive and it evolved much faster and with new abilities." Vashaan explained "This is where I suspect your chakra came from as usually humans don't have enough physical and mental energy to create chakra, instead they draw energy from the elements around them and have magic.

Anyway, eventually after much time had passed, all the fear, hatred and negative emotions must've empowered Cabadon enough for him to break out of the seal, and since everyone has long since forgotten about Cabadon he's been able to put the planet into lockdown and commanded the demons he enslaved long ago to torment the people in their eternal sleep and give all of them more energy to feed off of. If this goes on for long enough he'll be strong enough to destroy the plane of existence that the sages originate from and then no-one left to stop him from conquering everything." The entire table had gone into silence and everyone looked at each-other nervously

"As for the game, I don't really know. There have been instances in the past where terrible threats have arisen and somehow the most unlikely of people defeat them and save not just their worlds but entire planes of existence. Perhaps this is how they did it?" Vashaan finished and crinkled her nose in thought, before continuing on.

"Lastly I was a servant of one of the five Destroyers, Brimstone. The five destroyers where the five strongest demons in Cabadon's horde and as far as I know they're locking down the Kages of the land. Brimstone is the weakest of the five but uses trickery, stealth, and a lack of the morals even most demons have. His cohort is the same as him mostly and uses their abilities and magic instead of brute force. The reason why I have now gone to your side is simple." Vashaan said.

"Demons don't spare one another in fights, we kill each other without hesitation and devour the weaker demon's energy or enslave them. We were fighting and your aura is not only stronger than mine, but stronger then Brimstones, and by default that means you either kill me or take me as a slave." Vashaan said blushing again, "In short you spared me, so that makes me your slave" Vashaan said her entire face aflame with a deep and Naruto dully noted that her personality had done a complete 180.

Vashaan got nervous "I know a lot of magic, but I can't use many of the spells since my physical abilities are limited, the reason why I was so strong was because Brimstone had me possessed by a shade," Vashaan then started to get a little nervous "Um, but I'm not useless, I'll do whatever you want me to, and I can teach you more about any demonic history or basic knowledge if you want me to! So I'm better off as a slave than as food for you!" Vashaan spurted off staring at Naruto with fear in her eyes. Naruto met her stare for a few seconds and grinned, he reached out and touched Vashaan's arm and she tensed up before looking at Naruto.

"Don't worry, I won't gonna eat you! Believe it!" Naruto said giving her a thumbs up, he immediately winced at his verbal tick when Tenten snorted and Higurashi stifled a chuckle. Vashaan at least calmed down and Naruto smiled genuinely at that. Seeing his work was finished Naruto got up from the table and stretched out yawning.

"I need to take today off, I'm a complete wreck" Naruto said wincing as his bruises protested at his movements. Everyone looked at the whiskered blonde and realised how much he had gone through.

His black eye had remained and dried blood trails from his mouth remained, but now he also had a thin slice across his cheek, and a gash across his arm. But what was worse was that he was fighting Taijutsu experts and it was likely that under his clothes he was a mess of bruises and beaten flesh.

Tenten wasn't that much better with several bruises as well and her entire body ached from the gentle-fist she received earlier. Not to mention the light trauma of the nightmares too.

Vashaan also had several burns from being in contact with Naruto's chakra cloak, and nasty wound in her stomache.

However the one who had suffered the most was Higurashi who had choked on a cornflake, and needed immediate rest and recuperation, maybe even a nin-psychologist to talk him through any psychological after effects of the traumatic incident.

Sarcasm aside Naruto needed a day off.

A boy stood in the middle of a crowd, his face down and his bright yellow hair casting a shadow over his face. Everyone around him stared as tears poured down his face. Eventually the dark atmosphere of the scene grew, and he realised it wasn't just the rather disturbing scene in front of him. A dark energy was bubbling from the boy and grew in power and evil. Slowly the boy looked up and revealed Bright glowing crimson eyes, with tears of blood pouring down his face. He opened his mouth and let out an unearthly wail before beginning a methodical slaughter of everyone in the area.

Suddenly his face cleared and the bright haired boy was Naruto with baby blue eyes and a grin on his face, at odds with the blood spattered all over him. The only difference in his usual expression was a psychotic glint in his eyes. He didn't even pause in his murder spree as this happened and relished in the blood of his victims

Naruto awoke the same way he did every day, by swearing explicitly at his alarm clock.

He wasn't even that mad at it anymore, it was more a mixture of a running gag and a habit than anything else.

He then enjoyed the morning and the respite from all his bruises and aches and pains and damn he felt good! Naruto for once enjoyed the fact he was a jinchurikii, the sheer bliss of being able to move without wincing in pain was wonderful.

Naruto enjoyed the hot breakfast…instant ramen with a delightful cup of…Instant ramen to wash all the instant ramen down…

It was at this point Naruto vaguely wondered if he had a addiction, before he shrugged and got excited for the next part of his day.

Dressup! Or more accurately, Checking out the sweet loot he got from the gauntlet! Feeling more than a little giddy Naruto opened up his closet,

Primary weapon: Assassin's blade

Throwing weapon: Basic Kunai/shuriken

Mask: Kaka-bullies mask

Under clothes: Black tee and chain mesh;

A black shirt over a protective, but not obstructive chain mesh suit. The strange Material doesn't irritate skin and is most ninja's armour of choice since it can be worn underneath clothes and the extra layer of protection has saved lives.

A plain steel cuirass, painted white and often favoured by Kumo nin, it has one strap that goes over the left shoulder and offers decent protection against all standard ninja equipment, legendary or reinforced weapons will get through the steel however.

A Pitch black cloak that was once worn by a legendary warrior chosen by fate, the black cloak has no hood but still makes the wearer look slightly intimidating to his enemies, it has a few enchantments inlaid on it to increase the user dexterity

A pair of plain steel armguards, painted white and often favoured by Kumo nin, you can block minor attacks on the edges of these, they also look cool!

Hands: Gauntlet of Tears

A black gauntlet with red highlights, this strange gauntlet was forged in the fires of a dying star and was made from Space metal that came from an asteroid that fell on a planet long ago. It was forged by a now extinct race that was renowned across the land for their craftsmanship. Nicknamed the gauntlet of tears for the unsavoury owners and users it's had over the years. The strange gauntlet gives strength to its wearer, is able to create a shield that only the strongest of attacks can pierce, and has many other unknown abilities, it grows stronger if paired up with a weapon forged with the blade of tears.

Naruto walked out his closet feeling stronger than ever, a foxy grin spread across his face that only paused as he held up the one reward he had no idea what to do with.

The blade of tears,

It was only a blade, there was no handle, guard, or anything else. The black and red katana blade reeked of power and made Naruto drool over the cool stuff he'd inevitably be able to do with it. Sighing to himself he decided he'd forgo the blade for now and figure out what to do with it later.

He now had a job to do, find out where the hell Sakura went off to, and it wouldn't hurt to check up on Tenten, and Higurashi, and where had Vashaan gotten off to?

As if as an answer to his mental question the aforementioned Demoness popped into his room in a cloud of smoke.

"Morning Master! I'm here to serv-oh…" Vashaan had appeared with a serving tray full of food and a homemade breakfast. Naruto wondered why she looked so scared before he remembered the entire 'slave for life' thing.

"I'm so sorry master I had assumed you would wake up later in the morning and would be able to wake up to breakfast, I promise that next time I will make sure-"

"Vashaan it's alright, you don't have to be a servant" Naruto said grinning, Vashaan still looked panic stricken.

"Master I-"

"Please, call me Naruto, the entire master thing makes me feel a little creepy." Naruto said interrupting Vashaan's apologies before she worked herself herself into a panic attack.

"I… uhh… I couldn't do that master it isn't proper for a slave to refer to her master by his or her first name." Vashaan said bowing awkwardly with the tray in her hands.

"hmm okay then, you have to follow every order I give you then right?" Naruto said with a glint in his eye, Vashaan blushed,

"Y-yes, master anything you desire I'll do-"

"Great then I order you to call me Naruto!" Naruto said clapping his hands together cheerfully, before he turned serious,

"Now we have to rescue more people today, so let's not waste any time."

Naruto eventually made his way over to the Higurashi shop and opened the door the bell on top ringing and announcing his arrival. Naruto heard heavy footsteps before the familiar figure of Higurashi entered the building

"Hey kid, you need something?" the blacksmith asked leaning on the counter, he looked a lot better than he did two days ago; his hair was washed up and his beard was less rough, making him look less feral and more relaxed.

"Yeah I was wondering if you could do something with this," Naruto dropped the blade of tears on the table and Higurashi's eyes widened; he picked it up and studied it intently, raising it to his eye and inspecting the quality.

"This…. This is an enchanted blade… kid if you want me to make it into a sword I'd have to have an equally powerful guard and grip before I can do anything with it," Higurashi said he then glanced at Naruto's other sword.

"The Hilt on that short sword would work as I'm guessing that's where the poison on your sword comes from. If you could get an enchanted guard or even just a sword with one, I could forge you a very, very powerful weapon." Higurashi said examining the blade
"So not just any guard would do then? Naruto asked and Higurashi nodded,

"I don't know how the old smiths made chakra unbalanced weapons but you need all three major components of the swords to have chakra inlaid in them to forge a sword with them. If one is out of skew the entire enchantment on them is ruined and you'll wreck the enchantment." Higurashi explained and Naruto nodded, before he paused,

"Wait if nobody knows how to make enchantments, where do they come from?" he asked and the old smith chuckled,

"The old ruins kid, didn't you read up on your history? It's where we get all our advance tech, and skill from, 'cept for chakra of course"

"Well then can you hang onto the blade for me? I'll see if I can come across a guard or a blade of some sort" Naruto said and Higurashi nodded and put the blade away under his counter. The old smith then sighed before rubbing the back of his head,

"Kid I also wanted to apologise for the day before yesterday. I'm not proud of what I did, and while I would still do it if it meant saving Tenten; I don't want it hanging over our heads every-time we talk." Higurashi said rubbing the back of his neck, Naruto paused for a second, genuinely surprised before he grinned and shook hands with the shinobi-turned-blacksmith.

"All's forgiven," Naruto said before Tenten walked into the room fully decked out in combat gear, Higurashi turned around sharply and raised an eyebrow.

"And just where do you think you're going?" he said his arms crossed and stern expression crossed his face.

"I'm going out to help Naruto in his fights," Tenten said matching her father's gaze, "What about it?" she challenged already having several arguments ready in her head.

But to both Tenten's and Naruto's surprise the old blacksmith simply seemed to deflate a little and he leaned against a wall. "I already know you're going to go out whether I let you or not, it's the same look your mother had on certain things and she was stubborn as hell when she wanted to be." Higurashi mused before sighing "Naruto Uzumaki, you're in the company of that which I hold most dear. Protect. Her." The dark tone entering the man's voice sent a shiver down Naruto's spine and there was an unspoken 'or else' in there.

Naruto nodded quickly eager to escape the overprotective father's scrutiny and after making sure he didn't need any extra weaponry they left the building joining up with Vashaan.

"So uh… who are we going to rescue?" Tenten asked as Naruto looked thoughtful for a few moments.

"Well we could start off by rescuing just a few ordinary people, or we could rescue someone big and important, or we could try looking for my teammate who's wandered off somewhere." Naruto said and Tenten paused,

"Wait you rescued someone before me and my dad, and they didn't even help you out?!" Tenten asked incredulous. Naruto seemed oblivious to Tenten's irritation with his pink-haired team mate, and he didn't know how annoying the bombshell he'd drop next would be for Tenten.

"Yeah, she's my teammate Sakura, I think she might've ditched me to fret over Sasuke my other teammate who she's head over heels for." Naruto said grinning, only to falter as he remembered the tension between them last time they talked, or at least the new kind of tension that had less to do with the fact they had nothing in common and more to do with the fact Naruto had kissed and partially fallen in love with a fragment of Sakura's mind.

Yeah…awkward…

Naruto shook his head and missed Tenten's eye twitching and grinned and turned around to his two companions.

"So let's go find Sakura!"

I know, I know this is a criminally short chapter, and it's a little rushed on top of that but I got a lot of ground to cover in the next bit so bear with me.

For you readers who dislike listening to my shpiels I'm now including a tl;dr list thing so you guys can quickly overview what's going on. I'll try to keep it as short as possible but still make it interesting to read over so yeah!

Big important thing is this.

I need you guys to vote on the poll I have up, I'm literally running out of steam for this story, this isn't a hiatus or anything I just need a quick break and something else to update for a little bit while I gather ideas for this story. If you're wondering why this chapter is so short and sloppy, that's why :\

Also School started up! Yay!- er I mean Goddamnit!

This means a big slow on the updates I can do, and considering this is year 11 I can't just blow off my homework for writing, so yea. Sorry guys chapter updates are gonna slow down.

I am gonna write up that bestiary and get a guide up so the rules of the gameworld are more clearly illustrated and you guys aren't left scratching your heads as to what just happened.

Lastly I am gonna limit my replies to comments to 5 anon reviews per chapter, and I'll reply to any profiles I can.

Yeah, sorry Kin and Gai you guy's should proooobably make an account or something soon, or just keep making your reviews so much dang fun to reply to, that'd work to.

I should also point out that my internet has not been working as of late, so that may also slow down updates as well, all the good news for you guys! :D
