I look down at my phone and text Nicky, "I got the ring in my breast pocket." I make sure and feel the pocket of my coat and smile, " Are you prepared my friend?"

Nicky is sweating bullets. She has never found love like the kind her and Lorna have. She has never experienced something so life changing as the love for Lorna except when she was getting high. I remember that day I visited Nicky's AA meeting with her.

Flashback:

We had gotten caught on a minor possession charge. Both of us where put into the same prison. Litchfield. We were required to go to AA together for one month, before we could get released. It had been the first time the junkie and international drug dealer got reckless, and we decided it would be our last.

Nicky likes talking about her drug use. I think it made her see that she wasn't the only one with a problem. But she also loved her white powder until she meet Lorna. It kept her going, energetic and might have taken her life if it wasn't for the girl that isn't her "girlfriend". Nicky loves women, sex, but she couldn't look at another woman like she did with Loran. Prison was interesting and depressing for her.

The time they did "break up", basically Lorna stopped talking to her, she fucked a bunch of girls. She even had a sex-a-thon off with Big Boo, a butch dyke who was in for something. None of us knew. We all though it might have been sexual harassment or something to do with her sex drive, but none of us knew. We all hoped that one day we would find out what the corn eating lesbian had hidden beneath her. Either way her and Nicky had the same sex appetite.

The girls made a list of all the women in the prison and added point values depending on who the girl was. Then they saw who could get the most points. They did this for two weeks until Valentines day. Nicky went to the phone line and dialed the number she had avoided for two weeks. She listened to the "An inmate from Litchfield is trying to contact Lorna Morelo." Then she heard the phone pick up.

"Hey Nicky." The new york accent said from the other end. Nicky said she could hear her chewing gum on the other line.

"Hey Lorna. Can we talk?" Nicky asked in the most serious tone I had ever heard from her.

I was trying not to listen while I waited on the phone but it was hard. I have never seen Nicky so in love with anyone nor had I seen her so torn up about the things she was doing behind Lorna's back. She uttered the faithful words, "I love you kid." as she hung up the phone.

I don't think they ever went back. Since we have been out Nicky and Lorna have loved each other. I think they loved each other all along but Nicky really truly loved her. Like she had never loved each other.

She shoots me a glare from her phone that she has just looked at, "Vause I am always prepared. " She texted back.

"Good you're going to need it." She pulls up to the restaurant as our exchange has ended. We pull up and open the doors for our lovely ladies. Holding their hands before Nicky looks at Lorna, "Hey before we go in there, can I talk to you?"

This was my cue to take Piper and go into the restaurant in a hurry. I grab Piper and rush inside to meet the receptionist. "Vause party of 4!" I shout.

"Right this way." Says the receptionist and takes us to our table. I pull out Piper's chair and she sits and then I look at the waiter.

"So we have something important going on, me and my fiance just got engaged and our other two individuals one is going to pop the question." Piper's eyes light up as I say these words as I have not told her anything "Can you bring four glasses of your best champagne and put this," handing him the ring, "in one of them?"

"Yes ma'am." The waiter says politely, "Any other instructions?"

I point to the chair across from Piper. "The one you need to give the glass with the ring in it will sit there." He nods and walks away just in time because Nicky and Lorna walked in. Lorna looked like she always did. Cluelessly suspicious.

New and improved up date. Please let me know what you think. Sorry it took a bit on this one. I didn't know where it was going. Probably need to rewatch the seasons at this point. Running out of ideas :(
