There was a palpable silence after Naruto's statement and he turned around to face his two companions.
"What?" He received a pair of owlish stairs and blushed,
"Wait, you're telling me you could've had help throughout the entire thing yesterday but Sakura just left you to rescue some boy she likes?!" Tenten burst out-loud and Vashaan eyes held a rather dangerous glint in them.
"Well it's not that simple…. And uh…ah I know! We should ask her when we find her!" Naruto said grinning hoping that would get the aggravated females off of him. Fortunately for Naruto it worked.
"Oh don't worry we'll have a nice long chat with her." Vashaan said hissing out the last part, her violet eyes flashing red for a second.
"Ahahaha alright I'm just going to level up now…" Naruto said backing away from the two irate girls and mentally entering the level up menu.

Naruto looked over his stats and grinned, he would feel a lot stronger as soon as he exited the level up screen, looking over he then opened up the next screen.
Naruto paused at the new options in this screen and wondered why they had limits before he realised that he was probably meant to train with Tenten or Vashaan to get the limits raised. He continued his trend of putting 10 points into Nin and Tai for now, unsure of how much use he'd get out of the other skills.

After Naruto's vision shifted back into reality he saw the other two girls in his group looking at him strangely.
"We both just went into a level up screen," Tenten said wondering when her life had gotten so damn weird.
"Apparently I'm meant for throwing lots of spells around, I can either focus on offensive area attacks or healing" Vashaan said looking far more adjusted than Tenten was. Vashaan then blushed darker violet "I chose healing so that nobody could hurt you master!" hearts appeared in her eyes and Vashaan was completely oblivious to the dark look Tenten sent the rather fangirly demonness. Shoving the purple skinned girl to the side Tenten rolled her eyes and spoke,
"I'm meant for aggressive support, I throw stuff at bad guys to distract them, lead them into traps you make, and get your back in group fights," Tenten was actually fairly happy with that, it was essentially what she did in team Gai; well they never made any traps her sensei and his prodigy rather *cough* exuberant attitudes would ensure any trap they made would fail, but long range attacks she was good with.
"I think I'm meant for up close heavy damage, and I'm also supposed to keep the bad guys swinging at me," Naruto realised mentally looking over his abilities, rallying his focus his gaze sharpened as he now had a clearer objective and way to work with his partners. "Alright Tenten, I already know what you can do, Vashaan did your magics stay over from Tenten's nightmare?" Naruto asked looking serious for once,
"Magic," Vashaan corrected automatically "And some of them did but they're all weakened versions, I do have a basic healing spell and I also know a lot about first aid!" Naruto grinned,
"Great then we can stay in fights longer as long as you don't get hit, I guess you should probably keep at a distance for normal fights and for boss ones we'll just let my clones do all the work!" Naruto grinned and Tenten looked slightly thoughtful,
"I'm not sure that'll work…" she said before noticing the others staring at her, "I don't know it just seems like a glaring hole in the universe that Naruto could just make a 1000 clones and free Konoha in just a day. You'd figure fate would have a better grasp over things than that." Naruto shrugged before he made a familiar handseal and 10 clones puffed into existence.
"Erm…"
"Naruto you'll probably need more clones than that to rescue the entire village" Tenten said raising an eyebrow,
"I didn't mean to make just 10 clones, why didn't it work-"
Note: Due to developers noticing a bug Kage Bunshin and its limitations you can now only make 10 clones at a time when you are outside missions. This limitation is only taken off in certain levels that will change up gameplay radically!
Naruto sent a withering glare at Tenten who grinned sheepishly,
"Ahaaa, how was I supposed to know?" Tenten said holding up her hands as if to pacify the irate blonde, she looked over to Vashaan whom was also sending her a dark look. "Come on guys let up…"
The dark looks got meaner,
"guys?"
Naruto looked over at Vashaan and winked and they eventually gave Tenten mercy.

The first thing Naruto noticed about the Uchiha district was the fact that it was completely and utterly deserted. Whilst Konoha proper was too, at the very least it felt like something was missing, but in the Uchiha district there were cobwebs spun in dark corners, and a layer of dust over the insides of the buildings. The wind howled through the streets ominously and there was the inexplicable feeling that they were trespassing on haunted ground.
Eventually the group reached the clan head house and the trio looked at eachother nervously, what would they find inside? Naruto gulped before his eyes steeled over with determination and he opened the door.
The inside of the building was just as chillingly quiet as the rest of the district and Naruto felt a chill go down his spine as the group entered the building. Naruto walked upstairs and after checking the different rooms inside the house he finally found Sasuke and Sakura.
Sakura looked terrible, she had bags under her eyes and her entire face was pale and sullen, her breaths came in ragged gasps and her pentagram was coloured in 4 slots. The pinkette lay against the wall across from the bed that Sasuke lay on.
If Sakura looked terrible there were no words for Sasuke's appearance. The boy had always been pale but in this lighting he looked unnaturally so and his skin was cold to the touch. Dried blood ran from his mouth under his chin and Naruto realised that the boy had coughed up blood previously. Naruto suddenly realised what was happening.
"We don't have much time." He cursed and looked over to Tenten and Vashaan. "I remember this, when I first woke up I ended up in a rescue mission I couldn't do, I got killed and the guy I was trying to rescue coughed up blood and a part of his pentagram thing coloured itself in." Naruto suddenly felt a strange rush.
Intelligence test…
Pass!
A sudden cold realisation ran through him.
"WE HAVE TO HURRY!" Naruto shouted suddenly, "If I'm right then if the pentagram colours in fully the person dies, Sakura's and Sasuke's only have one left and she's fighting again." Naruto cursed to himself as the implications ran through his mind. Tenten sent a look over to Vashaan,
"Alright then we shouldn't waste time, we'll follow your lead in this one," Tenten said and Naruto blanched.
"Me? Lead? I-I'm not really a leader, and aren't you both more expieranced-" Naruto began before Vashaan cut him off,
"You're my master if you haven't forgotten and you also were chosen by fate for a reason! Plus, we shouldn't waste time like you said and you have the most reasons to lead." Vashaan said and Naruto gulped but caved in and nodded.
He walked up to Sasuke and tapped his forehead ready for the coming battles.
Warning! This rescue is a highly dangerous area meant for levels 100, it is not meant to be undertaken till after Konoha itself has been freed!
Naruto's heart sank and it felt as his someone had poured ice-water over him. He was only level 15! How could he hope to win? A part of Naruto started to panic before the part of him that had grown more powerful as he had entered more minds took over
Karmatic moment! Doom Sakura and Sasuke to their deaths? Or take a risk and fight a battle you are not ready for?
His friends were in trouble. That was how he would win, he didn't need to worry about the implications or limits imposed on him he would save his friends and damnit nothing would stop him.
Taking a deep breath Naruto entered Sasuke's mind and possibly the biggest challenge he would ever face began.

The first thing Naruto noticed was the smell of blood and death that hung over the Uchiha compound. The second thing he realised was that this rescue was different from the relatively light-hearted ones before. This wasn't the mind of some teenage girl, this was the mind of a survivor of a massacre, this was going to be a much more difficult version of Higurashi's mind, and this time there was no grizzled veteran to guide him.
Steeling himself Naruto turned around to his friends only to panic as he realised they weren't there. "Tenten? Vashaan? Where are you guys?!"Naruto wondered what the hell happened as from what he remember he was allowed party members-
He never equipped Vashaan or Tenten as a party member, Naruto's mind ran so fast that he could scarcely breathe. He couldn't equip them now in the middle of a rescue but nor could he just exit the rescue since that would probably count as a loss, if that was the case then…
He would have to solo this, Gritting his teeth Naruto knew he was in for a very difficult time.
Naruto pulled his newly repaired face-mask up over his face and made sure all of his equipment was ready. He then took a deep breath before concentrating and slowly an oversized red and black gauntlet formed over his right arm, ending at his elbow.
Looking over his hand Naruto frowned as he felt a small tug on some part of him but he ignored it and drew his Assassin's blade.
His footsteps echoed throughout the empty streets and Naruto took in the sight with wide eyes. Blood stains and bodies were strewn throughout the area. A man was impaled against the wall a few feet away from him. Across the street a women lay dead with a child clutched in her arms, slowly bile rose from the jinchurriki's throat and he dimly realised that this was no dream for Sasuke.
This was reality.
As Naruto reached the halfway point in the streets he realised that something in the air had changed, from the quiet aftermath of a devastating genocide to the threatening air of battlefield being born.
He turned around and stifled a gasp.
The bodies strewn throughout the street were slowly clambering to their feet, and were marching towards him.
A man with a kunai wedged in his face got up and he stumbled over to Naruto, blood pouring from his face, Naruto realised dimly that the man was actually saying something amongst the pain-filled groans he made.
Shock ran through Naruto's system and he realised that barely distinguishable from the zombie's groans were the words "your fault,"
"So this is Sasuke's worst nightmare," Naruto said watching the undead slowly reanimate, "No wonder he acts like a dick," Naruto could sympathise, this was a real nightmare something like the stuff he would have as a child.
Naruto braced himself before he drew his blade and assumed a combat stance,
"Let's dance,"

Naruto burst forward and counted five zombies in the street, thankfully the child hadn't risen because Naruto wasn't sure if he could stomache killing a kid, or at least what was once one. He reached the first undead and slid underneath a rather clumsy swipe and twisted around and stabbed the horror in the back of its neck.
A massive spiked letter rose up from the attack and the zombie stumbled forward
FATAL STRIKE! 5,000 DAMAGE!
Naruto's eyes widened and he wondered why that attack did so much damage before he remembered vaguely something Iruka-sensei once taught him. Something about the spine connecting to the brain at the back of the neck and that being one of the most vulnerable, if not the most vulnerable, parts of the human body. Usually Shinobi wore plates of metal over it or made sure to protect it, fortunately it was extremely difficult to hit that spot for other shinobi but larger slower opponent could be brought down that way.
Realising he had a shot at this Naruto let out an unseen feral grin, the undead were slow and stupid, he could do this!
He turned around and dashed backwards just in time to avoid a zombie's bite from tearing out his throat. Naruto wryly realised that 'Mom' had woken up and was less than pleased with him.
Gathering up his chakra Naruto made some handseals and ducked underneath a clumsy attack from the undead and sent out a fireball at the zombie.
"Grand Fireball Jutsu!" Naruto cried out and the fireball slammed into the zombie, Fire and smoke billowed out and sent Naruto flying into the other zombie he had critted before. Shaking his head Naruto coughed as the ringing in his ears subsided and he realised the undead woman was wailing.
Looking over Naruto winced in pain, the zombie was currently flailing about on the ground on fire with bright red numbers flying out off of her rapidly, Naruto realised he probably wouldn't have to worry about that zombie before he realised he was on top of one.
Twisting around and readying his Assassin's blade Naruto stabbed the undead again and again in the back of the neck. Ignoring the creature's groans of pain and finally its life crept down to zero. Getting up off the creature Naruto saw the street was now clear aside from the 'mother' zombie which was currently futilely rolling around on the ground trying to put out the flame. Sucking in and releasing a breath Naruto rubbed his cheek and felt more than a little bit older than he really was.
He then strode forward through the street, his black cloak flaring out dramatically behind him and his eyes holding a glint of determination in them.
He was going to save his friends, his mind flashed to Sakura, then to Sasuke, then to Iruka and Kakashi, and finally the Third, slowly Naruto worked back the nerve to go through this nightmare to save his friends.

Tenten paced back and forth between the three comatose teens, her lips drawn thin in concern and her eyes filled with worry. Vashaan was in a similar state, she sat on the bed next to Sasuke and Naruto and wrung her hands in worry, and finally she looked up to Tenten.
"Any ideas?" she asked and Tenten scowled furiously,
"Nope." Tenten said angry at herself for not realising something was probably amiss with how simply the game had added them together. Vashaan looked thoughtful for a second.
"Well we know Sakura somehow managed to get inside Sasuke's nightmare we just gotta figure out how." She said slowly and Tenten nodded,
"Alright then so all we have to do is figure out how she got in then we can help Naruto out!" Vashaan said grinning

Naruto spun around releasing fire all around him with a combination of his fire fists and his fireball jutsu keeping the horde at bay. Meanwhile across the crowded street his clones were in similar struggles.
Leaping away from the group that had gathered around him Naruto realised that his usual hit and run tactics weren't working from before. Scowling to himself Naruto desperately ran through several options and winced as his clones kept getting dispelled by rather irate undead.
Naruto then brightened up and remember one of the other tactics he had seen used to great effect. He leapt down to the back of the street, facing the horde of undead that stood in his way. He then summoned up a formation of clones behind him and the they all gathered their chakra,
"Fireball Jutsu!"
A wave of fire swept through the street burning everything it touch and screams of rage and pain filled the air as the horde of zombies all were lit ablaze in the fireball. Though it didn't do that much damage, unless the horde found a water source they would stay ablaze and burn to death.
Wincing to himself Naruto nodded to the clones and they swept into the street and past the corpses and burning zombies. This was fortunately the last street to the compound and the formation of clones was dispelled by Naruto who looked ahead to the building with a vague sense of foreboding.
He entered the building and noticed how much darker it was, preparing himself mentally Naruto crept through the darkened and bloodstained hallways. Eventually he found himself in a hallway and the feeling that he was getting closer and closer to Sasuke before a shriek broke his thoughts and Naruto whirled around.
Two pale white figures stood at the end of the hall, the very air around them freezing up and distorting. Naruto bit his lip as he stared at the monstrosities and couldn't move, fear paralysing him.

Naruto swallowed slowly and backed up away from the two wraiths, Fugaku and Mikoto both had trails of blood leading from their eyes as if they had been crying tears of blood, their mouths agape in a horrifying endless scream.
Naruto quick as a flash made a familiar handseal and flooded the corridor with Kage bunshin, pair let out a dismal wail and flew through the clones, each one turning pale white before dispelling.
The chase was on.

Annnnd Cut there, I planned on ending this with the big boss who shall not be named but you all know who he is but I didn't.
Sorry about the hiatus folks but it's been a rough term, and I have another only 1 week away.
So good news? I'm gonna be updating a bit more before school starts since I've managed to shake off the rust, I'm also gonna write during school time since taking massive breaks only makes it harder to get back into writing. Seriously this chapter feels really lazy and uninspired like my others and I hope its just me being paranoid
Bad news? Updates will be sporadic and will take longer, but I think that all things considered that's better than nothing. :P
