Chapter 6
The woman finished her shower. Stepping out of the bathroom and into the living room, her towel wrapped tightly around her body. Absently she ran her fingers through her damp hair to brush it out of her face. Her eyes ran up to her friend, who had perched himself on the couch, his armor surrounding his form. He had a polishing cloth over one of his large barrel pauldrons, all four eyes gazing intensely on the TV.
"It has seems I have grown popular." Teyshan remarked. A weak sneer growing acrossed the side of his mouth.
"Oh?"
"The arena from our earlier battle, it seems like your form of news had picked up on my attendance." The sneer quickly faded, the Prothean's face was blank.
"Well… you are Prothean after all." Melina snorted, trying to hold in a laugh.
"I do not know why they think I am Javik."
"Because they don't know about you Teyshan. Remember we never released a formal report to the Alliance, and even then you probably would have been kept a secret. I heard Javik was discovered awhile back but they remained mum about him for the longest time." Melina's face grew gentle.
"I suppose that was necessary." Teyshan shook his head.
Dropping his armor down to the floor. He laid his polishing cloth over the large pauldron and leaned back against the couch. His four eyes focused over at Melina. The Prothean suddenly dropped his voice. His sub harmonics smooth and rumbling.
"You are not dressed.."
"Oh!" Melina's voice tightened
She quickly wrapped her towel around her tighter and began stepping back away from him. She gave a embarrassed smile, waved her left hand and quickly walked back to her room. Right before she closed her door, she heard the Prothean give out a deep laugh. The woman leaned back on her bedroom door and rubbed her free hand down over her face shaking her head. It didn't take very long for the woman to get dressed, picking out her pajamas and a loose shirt. She dropped the dirty towel in the cloths hamper and stepped out of her room. Looking back over at Teyshan, his eyes were still gazing over at her.
"We should go out for a stroll soon. Go wander. A small adventure" She suggested. Liking the idea the Prothean nodded, the corner of his mouth pulling up into a mischievous smirk.

The Presidium was alive with crowds hustling and bustling, people wasting no time to get things done since the Reaper war was growing more immense. Melina was walking slightly ahead of Teyshan, her umber tresses pulled up into a tight bun at the crown of her head in true military fashion. Though the Prothean had preferred to see her curls free from their elastic captor. Walking a little closer to the woman's side, Teyshan's lip curled up.
"Melina, your human hair appears to be more… comfortable when unhindered by that elastic band you insist on winding so tightly around your hair curls." The Prothean sputtered.
Turning slightly towards Teyshan, a playful smile flew acrossed the woman's face. She snorted in a giggle.
"Are you complimenting me, oh almighty Prothean?" Melina snorted again, trying hard not to laugh.
"Yes… No." Teyshan corrected himself. "It was merely an observation, Melina."
"Uh.. Huh."
Shaking her head, the woman heeded the Prothean's "observation" and pulled the elastic tie out of her hair, letting the curls flow down the sides of her jaw. Reaching up she tucked back a small tress over her ear and laughed to herself. She kept an eye on her friend to see his reaction but the walls had built back up once more, in true Prothean fashion. Seeing him close off was no longer surprising. She had begin to wonder if it was more because Teyshan was reserved instead of cut off from his emotions. Walking a bit more ahead down the side of the Presidium, Melina caught sight of a small empty park ahead of the pair. Biting her lip she suddenly grabbed the Prothean's gloved hand and dragged him towards the park. Sitting down in a nice quiet corner of the park, the woman drug the Prothean down by her side until Teyshan finally relaxed. A big smile was stretched acrossed the woman's face. She let go of his arm and looked gently over to him.
"So I've got a question for you." Melina giggled.
"Yes."
"So I know the Collectors have wings, is it true you Protheans have insect wings like the collectors do?" The woman inquired.
The look that grew acrossed the Prothean's face looked like he was insulted. Teyshan's top lip pulled into a slight scowl with disgust. His golden eyes glanced over to the side. The Prothean rubbed his hands together vigorously and shook his head a bit. Melina had never seen her friend look so offended before. Her eyebrows knitted together into a gentle frown, though her gaze was never returned. She simply let the matter go.

Landis Camber was middle aged balding man, who wasn't a prodigy in any galactic trade. He was a sad soul with no friends or family to speak of. Nobody ever really knew where he came from and he always kept to himself. Landis was known for being a local bum causing trouble along the lower Wards. He would sometimes venture up to the Presidium in hopes of finding new faces to beg credits from. Sitting on a local park bench, the man's iced hues glanced over to see an odd sight. From what Landis could see, a soft natured woman, who anyone could easily consider pretty was dragging along a upset looking alien. From what this man had realized, this alien looked to be much like the Prothean that was featured on the Citadel Entertainment live vids earlier in the day. Perking up from his bench, the man slowly slithered his way to the other side of the bench to get a closer look at the pair. His icy colored eyes danced over their forms, he reached his fingers up to his mouth and began chewing at his bottom lip. The woman pulled the Prothean down on the grass, he could hear protests from the male until things finally grew quiet. He wasn't able to discern what was being said between the pair but the Prothean looked very comfortable around the woman. Landis could tell the female looked to be former military. Just the way she carried herself was very similar to the way C-Sec carried themselves. Guarded and aware. It made him nervous.
Landis was observing the pair for a bit of time. They both were relaxed and seemingly enjoying themselves. It was like out of no where that the atmosphere almost grew heavy around the park. The Omni tool around the woman's arms started ringing. Her face looked a bit annoyed to be interrupted. Waving the Prothean off a bit she lifted her arm. The woman's face started off very friendly, to the next moment looking very shocked. Landis wasn't able to hear her talk. He was far enough away to stay out of sight but could clearly read her facial expressions and the woman did not look happy. He saw the woman stand up quickly followed by the Prothean. The pair rushed off back towards the Presidium elevator.
"Hm.. Interesting." the Man grumbled to himself.

"I am so sorry to cut our trip short." Melina's voice was strained.
Yet the Prothean didn't respond. He was more quiet then he had ever been before. Seeing him like this had caused a bit of a dull ache at the bottom of her stomach. For the amount of time they were spending together she would hope he wouldn't keep shutting her out. Teyshan quietly picked up the small amount of things he had and placed them into his bag. Melina's backpack was already packed, her form standing next to the hotel door.
"No, it is important." Teyshan quietly muttered.
There was a hint of sadness in his voice. Yet his eyes always seemed focus ahead. His body language always read that he was ready to take on what was going on. It bothered the woman from time to time, but this was after all the Prothean way. To always tackle on problems and to never complain. Melina wanted to press for how he was truelly feeling. Yet the woman never said a word. She turned away from her friend and quietly walked out the door. Waiting at the elevator door until her friend was ready to come down with her.
It wasn't long that the pair had boarded another transport ship to head back to the colony. It was a shame the trip to the Citadel was cut short but the pair had received news that was personal to Teyshan and it was important for him to go back home as soon as possible.
