Ventus

I sat in my room, thinking over the horrible meeting we'd had just moments ago. 'I can't believe Terra can't see past Roxitas' eyes.' I thought to myself, my eyes grazing over the starry decorated room.

I sat there for a few minutes before I heard the sound of heavy footsteps outside my door. I stood up and opened it to see Terra walking down the hallway towards the main entrance.

"Terra, where are you going?" I asked running forward to keep up with him. "If you want someone to spar with I'm available."

"No thanks Ven, I'm going over to Twilight Town." He said, not looking back towards me. "I'm going to see what Vanitas can do."

"His name is Roxitas Terra." I said, slightly angry at what my friend was saying. "Why do you keep calling him Vanitas."

"You've seen his face, haven't you." He answered angrily, pushing the door open to reveal the courtyard. "It's obviously not the face of a warrior of the light."

"You haven't looked in the mirror lately, have you?" I said, watching as Terra turned on his armor. "He has a dark past; it's something you can relate on."

"We'll talk about it after I kick his but." He said, launching a black beam into the sky before he threw his Keyblade into the air. He jumped up onto the vehicle that it made and flew up towards the sky.

I shook my head, turning around to head back into the castle when I felt pressure in the center of my chest. I quickly turned back around and turned on my armor, a picture of Kairi sitting in a damp cave popping into my mind.

'Well Sora, It looks like you're trying to tell me something, so let's see what it is.' I thought as I opened the lanes between and through my Keyblade up into the sky. 'I hope it doesn't have anything to do with the Heartless.'

Destiny Islands

I ducked under the tree into a narrow stone hallway with an open roof. I stood there, taking in the serenity when I heard the sound of Kairi crying and remembered why I was here. I walked through the hall and into a dark cave with carvings all over the stones; my friend crouched at the back corner of the room.

I walked up to her and knelt down, looking at the wall she had her right hand on to see a crude carving of her and Sora sharing what looked like stars.

"Hey Kairi, how are you holding up?" I asked, putting my hand on her shoulder as she continued to sob. "I hope Roxitas didn't spark anything up earlier."

"It's not anything he said." She answered, looking up at me, her eyes red from all of the crying. "It's his face, he looks just like Sora."

"I'm surprised I didn't do this to you then." I said, sitting down to lean up against the wall. "The three of us look like brothers. "Maybe it was the addition of the hair, but he just reminds me of Sora so much."

"Umm, Kairi, he has the same hair as me." I said, confused by her using his hair as an example. "He looks like Roxas with yellow eyes, why would you think his hair looks like Sora."

"What are you talking about Ven, he looks like Sora with yellow eyes." She said, confusion joining the sadness in her eyes. "Why would you think he looks like Roxas."

"Terra said he had a face that didn't look like a warrior of light." I said, looking up towards the wall. "What am I doing, why don't we get out of here and held toward the main island."

"Thanks Ventus, My boats at the docks." She said as I stood up, reaching my hand down to help her up. "I'm not sure I should be the one to paddle, do you know how."

"I was there when you and Sora learnt Kairi, I'm pretty sure I can remember." I answered as I walked her out of the darkness of the cave. "So once we're on the mainland where do you want to go?"

"Why don't we go to my house, the mayor is usually fine with my friends coming over." She said as we walked down the empty beach. "Of course he'll be surprised that it's someone he doesn't know."

"Well you'll get to introduce him to someone for once." I said as I hopped into her rowboat, helping her down once I was in. "I hope we don't give him a heart attack."

"No, that wouldn't be good at all." She said, giggling a little as she did. "That would mean we'd have to have another election."

"And we can't have that, now can we." I said, untying the rope from the dock. "Hey, maybe I could get elected. I'd make a great mayor, don't you think."

"You really are a joker, aren't you Ven." She said, the sadness leaving her eyes. "I see why Sora likes you so much."

"What's not to like." I said, as I rowed us back towards the main island. "Hey, what are you laughing at, that one wasn't supposed to be a joke."

?

I pushed open a white door and we entered an infinite expanse with just a black cloaked girl sitting in front of a grand piano. She started to pluck at the piano, and an angelic voice floated towards us that was coming from her direction.

"Sleep soundly safe in his heart. You no longer have to face the evil in the dark. Just, rest your mind, and leave the pain behind. Remember softly, of a time, when the world was so bright."
