Two years after the events of Kingdom Hearts 3 which hasn't come out yet so will effect the story, the keyblade Masters are trying to predict when the next Darkness will come and how strong it will be. The method they use to do so had dangerous side effects and results in the worlds of this universe being changed forever.

I stood up and walked towards the dome he was looking at, the glow radiating from seeming to be slightly stronger than the others.

I knelt down in front of it and saw some lettering on the top. I thought to myself, putting my hand on it.

Light filled the room again, blinding me of my surroundings. When the light finally left I saw that I was in Twilight Town, a Dark Side being attacked by Roxitas and some girl in an Organization cloak. We ran down the long white hall, slashing down the Heartless in our way before we reached the door. We through it open and saw an infinite white expanse with Oni sitting at a grand piano, Ventus now wearing a cloaked version of his old shirt standing next to him with a smile on his face.
