Summary : Sasuke was never the really one to talk. He never spoke more than two words. That is until Sakura and Ino makes a bet. "Sakura, I bet you can't make Sasuke talk more than two words. If you can, I'll ask Shikamaru out." "Tch. You watch me Ino." "Oh wait, Sakura if you lose, you gotta spend one whole day with Karin." "Deal."

It's been 2 weeks since Ino and Sakura had made the bet about Sasuke. Of course, Sakura has definitely heard him say more than two words. However, Ino did not. They were sitting in a Cafe and catching up with each other about their one particular bet.

"Sakura, you do realize that you only have 2 weeks left until this bet is over and then you'll have to face the inevitable fate of spending one whole day with Karin," Ino reminded, having a slight grin on her face. Little did she know, she'll be the one to suffer.

"Please Ino, you just worry about yourself and I'll deal with Sasuke." "Hell yeah! Ino-pig is totally gonna lose this time. I'll be sure to tease her ten times more when she struggles to ask Shikamaru out." Inner Sakura laughed with great satisfactory. After all these years losing to stupid bets and doing useless things for Ino, Sakura will finally have her glory moment. "But anyways Ino, have you even tried talking to Shikamaru?"

"Well I did meet him the other day at the library and we exchanged numbers!" 'More like it was forcefully exchanged.' Ino obliquely replied.

"Hmm, really now? So tell me Ino, did you guys started texting each other yet?" Sakura asked, knowing that the answer Ino gave was not as she said it was. Ino started sweating and was scrambling to find the correct words to say. "A-ah, well not really! But I did text him the other day though... even if he didn't reply and probably ignored it.." She muttered the last sentence and pouted. Sakura arched one of her eyebrow. What could be more interesting than having a man who isn't heads over heels for Ino and actually making her struggle to get him. Ino, aware of what Sakura was doing, got up and declared "Just you wait Forehead! I will not lose and make Shikamaru fall for me as well!" Before Sakura could respond, Ino had already started walking to the counter and paying her share of the desert they ordered. When she finished paying the bill, she turned around once more and gave Sakura two fingers for what it meant, stuck out her tongue and walked out the door.

Sakura chuckled. 'Still the same as away huh Ino.'

After their long 'talk,' Sakura decided to head towards the library to do some research for her upcoming project. As she was walking towards one of the computer, she saw a very familiar figure; whom Ino and herself had just talked about. Shikamaru. Sakura decided to cautiously walk towards him and sat down at the computer right next to him. When she pulled the chair out, he looked in her direction and just stared. Was it something on her face he was staring at? Or was it because she looked damn familiar but couldn't think of her name? Or what? The atmosphere turned a bit awkward when Shikamaru stilled stared at her for almost about a minute.

"Um, it's Sakura.. Remember?" Finally could not withstand the tension between them, Sakura was the first to start the conversation. He nodded. "Yeah, I know. I was just looking as to where Sasuke found attractive. But anyways, how's the bet going?"

Sakura gaped and gave him an incredulous look. "Is he saying that you're ugly? Ugh I knew it all along. But he is implying that Sasuke, let me repeat, SASUKE finds US attractive." Inner Sakura squealed after processing what Shikamaru said.

"It's going just fine. I heard that you exchanged numbers with Ino?" Deciding to disregard what he said and changing the topic. Shikamaru shook his head. "Nah, she kind of forced it on me."

"Pfft, had a feeling all along. So what do you think about her? Knowing that this bet will be in my favor, she will lose and ask you out."

He sat deep in thought for a moment before replying seriously. "Honestly, I think I need someone like her in my life." Sakura couldn't believe what she just heard. She was just astonished as to what he just said. Shikamaru chuckled quietly after seeing Sakura's reaction. "Is it that shocking that I just said that? I'm kind of surprised myself, too."

"W-well, u-uh, I mean kind of, yeah. I would have thought the lines around 'Too troublesome to handle,' I did not expect that at all and frankly that was kind of cheeky. But, that doesn't really answer the question of what you think of her." Sakura could have sworn she heard him say 'troublesome' before he replied.

"She's the opposite of me, but opposites attract don't they. But her loudness could be bothersome at some point." Sakura nodded in agreement. "But otherwise, I think she's fit for me." Sakura smiled mischievously. Oh this was just too perfect. Everything was going according to plan. More like according to what Sakura had in mine.

"Well, I hope you keep this to yourself until you actually win the bet. But I'd better get going before someone bites my head off." And with that, he got up and walked out. Before Sakura could turn back to her desk and computer, she was interrupted. "What are you smiling about so much? Annoying." She frowned immediately and turned to the source of whoever said that. Her eyes widen when she saw Sasuke sitting right next to her, smirking.

Sakura scoffed and smiled teasingly. "What are you smirking about so much? Annoying." Sasuke chuckled while Sakura giggled.

"Mimicking isn't a good habit, Sakura."

"It was a good one though, you have to admit."

"Get a real come back for once." Which earned him a slap in the arm. "I don't need one, seeing that I always win in our little arguments that is. But anyways, what brings you here?"

"I was just passing by, until I saw this pink head which is always noticeable. What were you talking about with Shikamaru anyways?" Sasuke bluntly asked.

"Um... you know, about the bet."

"Ah, about me talking more than two words? Yeah, well you've managed. So what's the pro and con?"

"If I win this bet, Ino would have to ask... Shikamaru out. But if I lost, then I would have to -Sakura inhaled greatly- spend a whole day with -she gulped- Karin."

"Hm, Shikamaru huh? And Karin?" Sasuke grimmed at thought of Karin and her personality. He would feel immensely guilty if he putted Sakura in that situation.

"A dollar for your thoughts?" Sasuke had always been an enigma to Sakura, since she could never tell what he's thinking or feeling.

"I'm thinking of how I can make you win this easily." Sakura stared at him, implausibly. "Sasuke, are you kidding? All you need to do is just talk more than two words in front of Ino." Sasuke sighed.

"That's the problem, I don't talk with 'strangers' that easily. Even if she is your friend, I find it uncomfortable."

"That's not a problem, she can just call your 'chicken ass hair' and you'll get angry and then you'll spat out some words and then I win!"

"That's not how it works." Sakura sweatdropped. 'Why is he being so stubborn?'

"Exactly how do you plan on making me win then, Sasuke? He sat for a minute, and finally spoke. "I'll think of something."
