AN: Hey guys, two chapters in two days, don't you feel special. I've been having a rough day so I'm gonna use that anger to fuel this epic rage induced battle featuring Cloud as the main fighter.
Cloud
I watched as Roxitas flung himself at the image of Aerith, unable to move from my spot. I remember seeing her only a few hours ago, but I still couldn't get over what I was looking at. It was only when she easily swatted him Roxitas back onto the ground with her Keyblade that I realized that it wasn't really her. That's when I snapped, unable to hold myself back. There was no way I was going to let her defile her face like that.
I charged forward, slicing down onto her head but she quickly blocked it, a sly grin on her face. "I was wondering how long it'd take you to attack." She said before kicking me back across the court yard. Before I could even think her Keyblade was on my chest, but luckily I was saved by Tifa punching her right in the face.
"What are you two thinking, we can't just go charging at them all willy-nilly?" she said, looking back at Roxitas and I. "We have to do this as a team!"
"Your girlfriends right." Vonx said as she walked back out through the door she had just been punched through without a scratch on her. "Oh and Lea, Vexen improved the Replicas after the first model, we all have a certain skill that it didn't possess."
"She's not a puppet!" Roxitas and Lee both snapped in unison before the charged to either side of her and through they're Keyblades into a massive Strike Raid. Before she had time to react Riku had appeared behind her and kicked her towards me, giving me a good opening to slice her in half, but she managed to block it so she was thrown into the stone wall.
She was about to move but Ventus Terra and Aqua thrust their Keyblades up against the wall around her head, stopping her in her tracks. But she just smiled at them before kicking Aqua into my shoulder, distracting Riku and Terra long enough for her to knock them away. She was charging back towards me when Fu through her chakram in front of her, Rai tripped her, and Seifer stabbed at her, but she managed to role away from them.
"Well when you guys work together you actually stand a chance against me, I'm impressed." Vonx said before King Mickey cast a stop spell on her, giving me the perfect opportunity to unleash on her. I was by her side in an instant, slicing through her as quickly as I good, hoping that it'd cause more damage than we'd been able to so far. By the time the spell wore off I'd run out of energy, but Vonx only had a few scratches on her, though she did seem winded. "Woah, that was crazy, that's quite a bit of damage. It'll take more than that to beat me though."
"Hey Cloud, don't you have some big move called ragnorak or something?" Lea said as he and Roxitas repeated they're Strike Raid remover, this time ending with them both charging up and grabbing they're Keyblades before slicing through the abomination in front of me.
"That's a good Idea." Tifa added, as she punched the now bleeding Vonx hard enough in the gut that she flew up into the air. "Go get 'er."
I ferociously obliged, running forward and using the spring board Tifa had made with her hands to launch myself into the air after the Replica. I quickly sliced her repeatedly before blasting her with the full force of my attack sending her into the ground, but just before she hit Terra and Riku ran past one another and sliced her in two other places. As she hit the ground however she was bombarded by lightning bolts, fire attacks, and ice from the female Keyblade wielders. Just for good measure as I landed I stabbed through the ice blocke she was in and stabbed through her abdomen.
I looked down at the face of the woman I'd once loved, and saw it slowly crystalizing before my eyes. Just as the body finished becoming clear it burst into dust and everything turned white.
When I finally came to my senses I was standing in a white room with Aqua at my side. "What's happening?" I asked her, trying to find a way out of here.
"I don't know." She answered, her voicing cracking as it did. When I looked over to see why I noticed that her eyes were red and puffy, as if she'd been crying.
"Wow, you just love steeling my swords, don't you." A familiar voice said, and I could feel my eyes widened as I turned around to see my old friend standing next to Aerith, though his appearance had changed greatly since the last time I'd seen him. "I mean first the Buster Sword, and now Fenrir too. You've got a serious problem."
"Zack, you're alive!" Aqua cried, running towards him and rapping her arms around his neck in a hug. He picked her up and spun her around with a smile on his face before putting her back down.
"Sorry Aqua, but I'm really dead this time." He said, still smiling at her. "I mean if I wasn't we'd probably still be on that date."
"This isn't the time Zack." Aerith said, putting her hand on his shoulder. "We've just come to say goodbye one last time."
"You can't." I said, walking forward, but Aerith stopped me before I could get too close to her.
"I'm sorry Cloud, but you don't need us anymore, you have a new family to start, we'd just get in the way." Zack said, still holding Aqua to his chest. "That goes for you too Aqua, you've got to keep moving."
"But what if I can't, what if I still need you." She said, looking up at him sadly. "You still owe me a date after all."
"Aqua, if you still needed me, I wouldn't be here to say goodbye yet." He said, before moving her to arm's length away. "Don't worry, I'll always be with you, I made one of those Wayfinder things you keep in your pocket." He said before both he and Aerith turned around and began to walk away. "That goes for you too Cloud, so don't go doing anything stupid."
Lea
"Cloud, Aqua!" I called, still looking for them as the sun began to set in the distance. "Where in the world could they be?"
"They're probably up in the palace." Roxitas answered casually from his perch on one of the pillars, not bothering to help look for our friends. "Speaking of which, we should probably start heading there before another wave of Dusks is sent out here to kill us."
"As much as I hate to say it, Roxitas is right." Terra said, putting down another chunk of wall that had fallen off during the battle. "Maybe the Dusks kidnapped them when we weren't looking."
"What are you talking about, there weren't any Dusks around to grab them." Riku said, walking back from the more open part of the property.
"In case you didn't notice there was a whole horde of Dusks." Seifer said from his seat at the top of the stairs. "Unless the ones that wear pink have a different name."
"Well, I guess you're right, we should probably head after them." Riku conceded as the rest of the Keyblade wielders entered the building.
Riku and I were just about to walk through the broken down door when Roxitas dropped down in front of us. "You rememeber Vonx as well, don't you?" He asked, a deadly seriousness in his eyes.
"Yeah, but I can also remember fighting the Dusks, so I thought I'd just imagined fighting her." Riku answered, looking at Roxitas with concern in his eyes. "So we have already fought her."
"Yes, but she also no longer exists." Roxitas said, looking past the two of us towards the clock tower. "Replicas can only be remembered as long as their alive, and they only exist if someone remembers them."
"Wait, so there could have been an entire army of Replicas that we've thought and we wouldn't remember?" Riku asked, his eyes taking on a deadly seriousness.
"No, Vexen only ever made five of them." I responded, knowing that Roxitas wouldn't have any knowledge of that. "But since our memories of it are connected to its existence, why do we remember?"
"The same reason you and I got so angry when Vonx referred to the first Replica as an it, we still have memories of her." Roxitas answered, turning to look at Riku. "That's why I went back to the organization, that's why I can use two Keyblades, that's why I wanted to destroy Kingdom Hearts."
"So are you saying that I knew this Replica as well?" Riku asked, looking at me to no avail. I didn't remember either, though I felt that Roxitas was right.
"You call it a her, do you remember her name or something?" I asked, trying to figure out why what he was saying made so much sense to me.
"Sometimes, but I remember her face, and helping her get her Keyblade, and I remember that she was number XIV." He answered, and suddenly I remembered someone else eating icecream with us after missions, and the real reason we'd fought that giant Heartless weeks after it had first shown up, and how Roxas had defeated Heartless I couldn't dream of beating, and why I was always fighting with Saïx. When I looked over at Riku I was glad to see that I wasn't the only one crying from the memories.
"Xion." We all whispered at once.
?
We ran down the long white hall, slashing down the Heartless in our way before we reached the large white door. We through it open and saw an infinite white expanse with Oni sitting at a grand piano, and Ventus now wearing a cloaked version of his old shirt standing next to her with a smile on his face, but a frown in his eyes.
Oni began to pluck at the keys of the piano and then she started singing. "Long ago, when our eyes used to shine, and I was yours, and you were mine. Once I told you why the sun sets red, I know that I'll never forget. Now you're gone, but the sun still sets in the sky, so at dusk, I will always think of you. Do you think we could ever turn back time someday? You and me, will we ever be the same? Once upon a time, in my dreams, I reached for you, and you reached for me. Waking up is the hardest thing to do, because in my dreams, I have you. Since you're gone, and the sun still sets in the sky, at dusk, I will always think of you."
I dropped to my knees, tears in my eyes as I looked at two of my closest friends, standing there so close that I could almost touch them. That's when everything went black.
AN: I don't remember if I sent Tifa down to Twilight Town or not, so let's just pretend I did. Now you'll notice that I've taken number V out of the running for final enemy in this story, so please consider that if you chose to vote on the poll. Please review, especially if it's critical of my writing, I'm trying to get better.
