GREYS DAY!
Chapter 35
After spending most all day at the Seaquarium, the four decided to call it an evening after the Orca and dolphin show. Arizona had high hopes of exploring the Everglades and going to the club with Aria and James, but after their exciting day all she could think about was going back to the Torres estate and lounging around the rest of the evening with Callie. After returning home, Callie and Arizona relaxed in her parents theatre room snuggled in each other's arms watching The Golden Girls reruns. Both simply content of just laying around with each other for the rest of the night.
Thursday finally rolled around and the two had relaxed around the pool all morning until finally going out and doing a little souvenir shopping for their friends. Arizona insisting on buying Avery, Teddy and Alex something for stepping up and taking control of things while they were away.
Now, Thursday night, the family had just returned home from dinner at one of Carlos' favorite restaurants. He wanted to treat his family out to a nice dinner before the girls headed home in a few days. "Arizona." She said, looking her up and down. "You wearing that?" Callie asked, as her fiancé came out of the bathroom wearing a white v-neck blouse and tight Khaki Lynie Shorts. They had recently returned home from dinner with Callie's family and now they were getting ready to go out to one of the beach clubs James and Aria insisted they go.
"Uhh.." Looking down at her outfit, "I also though about wearing heels with it. What? Something wrong with it?" She asked.
Of course something was wrong, Arizona looked like sex on a stick in that outfit and Callie didn't want to have to beat the women or men for that matter, off her fiancé all night. She just wanted to spend the night having drinks and dancing with the woman she loved. "We are going out to a club. In Miami!" she emphasized. "It's a completely different scene than what we're used to." She said, thinking Arizona would understand. Seeing Arizona shrug her shouders, "No you know what, never mind. I'm not telling you what you can and can't wear. You look.. fine." She shrugged, putting on a pair of long dangling earrings and fixing her hair into a sleek pony tail in front of the mirror she was standing at.
"Excuse me?" Arizona couldn't believed that Callie would even suggest something like that. "You're damn right you're not telling me what I can and can't wear, Callie. You're my fiancé not my mother." She said, placing her wallet and phone in her purse.
"I wasn't saying that.." She said, tucking her black tank top into her shorts.
"You didn't have too.. I'm very good at reading between the lines."
"Arizona. I was only saying that the Miami scenes is different. People here aren't so.. courteous as you're used to. They are usually only looking for a quick fuck. They see you dressed like.. that with your.. ass hanging out of your shorts." She said, waving her hand up and down her fiancés body, "..and they think you're out on the town for a wild night." She said, regretting her words immediately.
"Wow. Really?" She couldn't believe Callie would say that. "First off, it's not that short and second, I've wore this outfit on several occasions back at home and not one time have you ever said anything."
"You know what.. whatever I'm not doing this.." She said, walking off towards the bathroom. "Don't come crying to me, when you have women and men hanging all around you, vying for your attention."
Her mouth dropped open at her realization, she couldn't believe her ears. "Oh so now I'm what? Some whore all of the sudden?" She said angrily. "You know what, Callie, all you had to do was say, 'babe, please don't wear that tonight' and I would have changed, but you had to come out with your snarky ass attitude and say 'you're wearing that' like you were appalled by me or something. Hell if you wanted, I would have wore damn sweats.. Because you tell me all the time that I'm pretty. I was just trying to look nice for my fiancé that I love. But you can forget that.. I'll be damned if I take this outfit off now!" She said, wiping tears from her eye, feeling a bit taken back at her fiancés words. "I'm not a damn slut like you're making me out to be all of the sudden. I thought you knew me better than that." She said, grabbing her purse. She couldn't believe Callie was acting like this.
"Where are you going?"
"I don't know.. I love you, Calliope, but I can't look at you right now, if I don't leave this very moment... I will say some mean things that I wont mean and can't take back." Wiping at a the tears that collected in her eyes at Callie's silent accusations. Grabbing the door knob, she turned back around to look at her. "I don't know what the hell your problem is with me. You've been bitchy with me since before we left the restaurant with your family. I suggest you fix that before I take the first flight home to Seattle. And then, if you still want to fight when you return then we'll fight. But I won't do this here in your parents house." She said, slamming the door shut behind her.
"..I.." Was all Callie got out before the loud bag of the door. "..wasn't implying you we're a slut." She said sadly to herself, tears falling down her cheeks. She knew she had took this too far and made a big deal out of nothing, but she was hurt. Sitting on the bed, she just put her head in her hands and sobbed. She was upset that she made Arizona mad enough at her actions that the blonde couldn't even be in the same room with her right know. Callie hadn't meant to be smart ass to her fiancé and the mean things that she said came out wrong. She was just upset with the conversation she over heard at dinner and Callie just let it get to her head instead of addressing the subject when they returned home.
Hearing a knock at the door she quickly wiped her eyes and rushed to open the door thinking it would be Arizona on the other side. "I'm sor... Ohh.. Aria." Callie quickly said, turning her head away from her to wipe the new tears on her face.
"Cal.. What.. What's wrong?" She said stepping into the bedroom and closing the door.
"It's Arizona. We.." she said her voice breaking again. "We had a fight and she left. I don't know where she went. I think she's going home Aria. She couldn't even be in the same room as me." She cried into her the palms of her hands.
"What happened?" She said, walking up to her sister and embracing her.
"I over heard her conversation at dinner... and it's just been eating at me since then and then she comes out of the bathroom looking all hot and.. and gorgeous and I just blew up on her, telling her she shouldn't wear the outfit she put on." She cried. "I said some mean things I didn't mean.."
"Cal.. What did you say?"
"I told her the Miami scene was different from Seattle and that her ass was hanging out of her shorts and that people would see her as a quick fuck."
"Callie.."
"Don't okay. I already know I was wrong. Her outfit wasn't that bad, I just didn't want to see everyone eyeing her tonight. I was just pissed from earlier and I took the first thing I could run with and started a fight." She said, sitting down on her and Arizona's bed.
"What did she say at dinner, that pissed you off so bad?" She said, setting down beside her sister.
"I.." She sighed. "That's not a conversation for us right now, Aria." She huffed. "It's just stupid and petty of me for thinking it."
"She loves you. You know that right?" She said draping her arms over he sisters shoulders.
"I know.. but you didn't see her face when she left Aria." She said, with more tears starting to fall. "I made her cry." Callie let out a sob. "I promised her I would never do that.. I was such a bitch to her since leaving the restaurant and she didn't deserve it."
"Wha.. what are you doing?" She asked, when she seen her sister pull out her phone.
"I'm texting James to come upstairs. You're not going to sit in here all night and cry. He's going to take you to the club, and you're going to go have a few drinks."
"What? No!" She said standing up. "I'm going to go find Arizona."
"No. You're going with James. I want you to get to know him. Cal. He's really great."
"I want that too.. I like him, I do. But I need to worry about my relationship right now. I have to find her."
"I said no." She said, pulling her sister back down. "You're not. She's upset right now.. You both need time to cool off. You're going with him." She said standing from the bed. "I'm going to go find Arizona. We're going to have a few drinks and let her cool off." She said as James knocked on the door. "We'll meet up later." Answering the door, Aria stepped out in the hall to explained to her boyfriend what was going on and asked him to take Callie to the bar at the beach and have a few drinks and wait there for them.
Arizona had rushed out the back door of the Torres Estate after her and Callie's fight, heading straight for the beach, she found herself sitting down on the end of the dock facing the moonlit sea. Hearing the boat bounce back and forth on the deck from the rough waves only made the tears come heavier thinking about their perfect night on the yacht only three nights ago. She was hurt by Callie's words and accusations, sure they have had fights, but this was the first ever that she had to walk out on her. She knew when Callie got upset or mad at something she would keep it in until it bubbled up, but she had never been on this side of it before and she didn't like it one bit.
Lost in her tears and thoughts, she didn't hear anyone walk up behind her on the dock.
"Arizona? Honey?" Maria said, walking up behind the blonde. "Ohh.. you young kids find the craziest places to sit.." She groaned keeling down. "I'm getting to old for this." she said finally sitting down beside Arizona. "Are you alright?"
"Maria." Arizona said, wiping her eyes. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to see about you. I was out on the veranda honey, when you rushed out of the house. I don't think you saw me.. I tried to stop you but you were too upset I guess.." she said, pulling Arizona in for a hug. "What's wrong sweetheart."
"I don't know…" she cried, leaning into Maria's arms. It was the closest thing to Callie's.
"Is it Callie?" at the mention of her granddaughters name, Arizona cried harder.
"We.. we had a fi-ght."
"Well.. what about?" she asked, rubbing Arizona's side.
"She had been acting weird since dinner, but I just brushed it off.. and then I came out of the bathroom wearing this and Callie blew up on me."
"What's wrong with what you have on?"
"I don't know. She's never complained before, but that's not what upsets me. She acted like I wanted some kind of attention from everyone at the club or something, I only wanted her attention." she sniffed.
"Arizona, sweetie.." Maria sighed. "I.. don't even know what to say. Callie's always had a temper, but I already think you know that, and when she gets mad she looks for ways to start a fight.. Sounds to me her problem wasn't really the outfit was it?"
"I.. I don't know.. that's what the whole fight was about. I don't know why but halfway through the dinner she started acting distant, she didn't even hold my hand leaving the restaurant. She's never not done that." She said, sitting back up and wiping her tears away. "I've tried to think if I said something that would have pissed her off, but I can't think of anything.."
"It doesn't necessarily mean you did something. When Callie was little and she was mad or upset she would take her frustrations out on everything coming or going. I'm sure you didn't do anything.."
"You didn't see her Maria.. she was mad."
"Where is she now? You need to talk to her.."
"I don't know, I had to leave the room.. I couldn't stand the way she was looking at me." she said, wiping more tears.
"Arizona." Came a voice from behind them.
Turning around when she heard her name, she saw Aria standing on the beach next to the dock. "Come on Z, get your ass down here.. I've gave you some time to be pissed. Now come on." she called out seeing Arizona turn back around.
"Go.." Maria whispered. "Communication sweetheart. The key to any relationship. Go talk to Callie.." she whispered.
"I'm not ready to talk to her yet.." she said, shaking her head.
"Come on Z, she's not here right now... come talk to me.." Aria yelled, seeing Arizona stand up from the dock and make her way towards her.
"What do you want Aria." she sighed as she met up with the brunette.
"Callie wanted to come find you but I wouldn't let her. I told her I'd come and find you." she said wrapping her arm around Arizona's shoulder. "I gave you some time to be mad and upset first before we talk."
"I don't want to see or talk to her right now."
"Good Because you and me, kid." she said winking at the blonde. "Are going out for drinks.."
"What.. No.. look at me, I'm not fit to be going anywhere, my eyes are blood shot and puffy."
"Are you kidding me? You look hot." she said, guiding them back to the house.
"Yeah well apparently to some people I look slutty."
"Stop.." she said, making it back to the house. "Come on, we'll talk more over drinks.. I know the perfect place."
Walking into the bar Aria ordered herself and Arizona a drink before heading off to talk some more. "Hey! Arizona... look, James is here." Aria said, dumbly, sitting down beside her boyfriend.
"Hi babe." she said, giving him a quick kiss.
"Where is she?" Aria whispered, seeing Arizona was clueless to her plot.
"Bathroom."
"What?" Arizona said over the loud music.
"I.. uh.. I said I have to use the bathroom. I'll be right back." he said, getting up from his seat.
Taking a seat beside Aria, Arizona just stared at the table. She couldn't get her mind of her pissed off brunette fiancé.
"Hey, Cheer up buttercup." Aria said, hitting her shoulder. "Everything's going to be fine." she said, as she seen Callie exit the bathroom.
"I shouldn't be here Aria. I should be with her." She said, looking up to meet Aria's gaze, seeing her brunette out of the corner of her eye. "Seriously Aria.." she scolded, standing from her seat. "You tricked me." She said, taking off to the door of the establishment. She knew she should be home talking to Callie, but knowing Aria set her up pissed her off. She really wanted to talk to Callie, but she still needed some time to be mad.
Seeing Arizona sitting at her table, Callie felt more at ease about leaving the house without telling her. But as soon as the feelings started leaving they quickly returned after seeing Arizona look her way and then turn to leave the bar. "Stop, Arizona." Callie yelled to her, but the music only drowned her out. Walking back to the table, she picked up her purse from her seat and looked at Aria. "What?" Her sister said, shrugging her shoulders. "Go after her."
Walking out of the bar, she looked around for Arizona, but didn't see her anywhere. Seeing a small cement path on the side of the building that lead towards the ocean, Callie took it in hopes of finding the blonde.
Searching the beach over, Callie seen a dark shadowed figure sitting close to the waters edge. Making her way closer, she noticed that Arizona had changed into a pair of jeans and a hoodie, making her feel even worse for the way she treated her. She hadn't noticed it inside of the bar, because she was fixated with the look on her face. The blonde had her arms wrapped around her legs and her head laying on her knees. The scene before her broke her heart because she was the reason for Arizona's pain.
Hearing footsteps in the sand getting closer. "Arizona.." she heard Callie softly whisper. Turning her head away from her she didn't know what to say at the moment. Even though she didn't want to have this conversation right now, she knew it needed to happen. She just wanted feel Callie's arms again.
"What's your problem, Callie?" she said bitterly, never lifting her head off her knees.
"You."
"Me?" she said, wiping her eyes for what felt like the hundredth time in an hour, before lifting her head up and looking at Callie.
"Yes, You're the problem."
Laughing bitterly, "You know.. I've tried.." she said angrily, standing. "I've tried to figure out why the hell you're so mad at me.. And I can't come up with a damn thing I've done to you. I thought we had a great day.. so please Callie .. Please tell me what the fuck I have done so I can fix it. I can't stand this."
"You told my mom at dinner that you wasn't ready to marry me."
"What? I never said that. Callie I would never say that, God. If I wasn't ready to marry you I would have never proposed or accepted your proposal."
"You did though." Callie yelled, running her fingers through her hair, angrily. "I over heard her ask you when the big day was and you told her that that topic is not up for discussion right now."
"And? No where in that sentence states that I am not ready to marry you."
"I can read between the lines, Arizona. I'm pretty good at that too.." she scoffed.
"Evidently you're not." she sighed, pressing her thumb and index finger on the bridge of her nose, trying to relieve some of the pressure built up in her. "We've not talked about it yet." she said softly. "I mean hell, we've only been engaged for six goddamn days. You, only proposed three nights ago. I want to marry you Callie." she said, tears running down her cheeks, but she quickly brushed them away. "I want to get married as soon as possible. But I didn't want to tell your mom that before I even have the chance to talk to you. We've not even had the time to discuss it." She said, slinging her arms down to her side. "We've been on the go, with the verdict reading and then Miami... I would marry you right this second, Callie. But I don't think that is any of anyone's business. At least not until we have had a chance to discuss what we want. So I told her that the topic wasn't up for discussion." she said, turning back towards the ocean, she knew of she didn't turn her back to Callie now, that she would forget about the fight and wrap Callie up in her arms and pretend everything was okay, When nothing about this fight was okay.
Realizing what Arizona was saying, Callie knelt down in the sand sobbing. She felt like a complete idiot for lashing out at Arizona. She had said some hurtful things that of course she didn't mean, but she couldn't take them back. "I'm sorry.." She cried into her hands. ".. I was such a bitch."
"Why Callie? What did you say those things?" She said, still not facing the brunette. If she turned to look at Callie right now, she would wrap her up in her arms because it always broke her heart to see her cry and she couldn't do that, not without an explanation first.
"I was hurt." She sniffed. "I love you, Arizona and I want to marry you too. When I heard you say that it wasn't on the table to talk about, my mind just wondered. It's not that I thought that you didn't love me.. I know you do. When you said that I thought that maybe you were just content on being engaged." She said moving to sit on her butt in the sand. "I'm not.. I'm not content with being engaged to you.. I mean don't get me wrong.. I'm extremely happy I am.. But I want to marry you. I want to be your wife."
"Why didn't you just tell me that you were upset instead of yelling and fighting with me?" She said, sitting down beside her. Her eyes never left the ocean water.
"I don't know... I didn't want to bring it up in front of everyone in the car and then when we got back home you were on the bathroom getting ready..."
"Oh, so it's my fault..."
"No, you're not at fault. This is on me." Callie said blowing out a big breath of air. "It's all my fault. I was upset at dinner and when you came out of the bathroom I was grasping for anything I could find to pick a fight instead of just talking to you.. I'm sorry." She said, her voice breaking again. "I didn't mean to imply you were a... a slut." She said sadly.
"I forgive you." She said, finally looking to her left, seeing Callie slumped over crying.
"You do?" She said looking up meeting Arizona's eyes for the first time.
"Yeah.." She said wiping the tears on her brunettes cheeks. "You did something wrong and you admitted it.. I'm not saying that what you said was okay or anything, because it wasn't..."
"I'm sorry, Ari. You're not a slut.." She said wiping Arizona's tear stained cheeks. "The one thing I always promised I wouldn't do, I did."
"What?"
"I made you c.. cry…"
"Yeah.. but I made you cry too.. I'm sorry, Calliope. I shouldn't have left the room like that.. I should have stayed so we could talk it out."
"No.. it's okay.. I would have probably left too.. I was an ass hole." Callie said, "And there wasn't anything wrong with your outfit. You were hot.. and gorgeous.. And I got jealous just looking at you. Because I knew I would have to fight people off you tonight." She said, picking up a hand full of sand.
"I get it.." She said, lifting Callie's chin up to look at her. "I'm hot.. and gorgeous.. I can't help that women and men flock to me.." She gave a small laugh. "Seriously though Callie." She said, her tone more serious. "I don't feel hot or pretty or... gorgeous, I don't feel any of those things unless I'm with you."
"Really?"
"Really. You're the only one who has ever made me feel all those things.."
"You are the only one that's ever made me feel that way too.." Callie said, looking up and giving her a sad smile. "Can I hug you now?"
Slumping her shoulders, "I was wondering who was going to break first..." she said holding her arms out to Callie.
Sighing loudly when she felt Arizona's arms around her, "You mean I should have held out a little longer?" Callie breathed into her neck. Feeling Arizona's arms loosen around her, she held on tighter. "Kidding.. only kidding.. I'll always break first when it comes to you. I missed you."
"I missed you too. I've been dying to be in your arms for four hours."
"God, it seems longer." She said into the blondes neck. "I don't like fighting, Ari."
"Me neither baby, it breaks me when we fight." Arizona said, turning her face to smell Callie's hair. "I love you."
"I love you too, Arizona."
"Hey you two." Aria yelled from the path, seeing Arizona and her sister hugging. "Kiss and make up already.. bartender just yelled for last call. Get your asses up here so we can have a drink before we leave."
"Are we good?" she looked back at Arizona and asked.
"Yeah.. we're good." Arizona said, with a quick peck to red salty lips. "Lets go and appease your sister so we can go home and go to bed." She said standing and pulling Callie up off the ground. "I'm exhausted."
"Me too.." She said talking Arizona's hand and walking back to the bar. "And we have our engagement party tomorrow. I think we need a vacation from our vacation." Callie groaned.
"Hey.. Parties are fun. I'm excited to meet everyone. Your mom did say it was going to be small though right?" she asked as they walked into the bar. "Yeah.. If you think two hundred people is a small party." She said shrugging her shoulders.
"Uh.. Two. Two hundred?"
"Yeah.. My mother insisted that she had to invite all of their friends and everyone in our whole family because she didn't want anyone to feel left out."
"I don't even know if I know two hundred people.. Let alone know them well enough to celebrate my daughters engagement with them. That's a lot of people I have to impress."
"Relax, honey. You don't have to impress anyone. If you just be yourself everyone will love you." she said, walking up to Aria and James at the table.
Seeing Arizona's dazed look, "You told her how many people Mami invited didn't you?" Aria asked laughing.
"Yeah." Callie said shaking her head.
"James had the same look.." she giggled with her sister.
"Arizona, you look fine." Aria said. Seeing Arizona smooth her dress, trying to look perfect for her sister. Standing by the bar, she and the blonde sipped on their beverage as the guests began to arrive.
"I don't want fine. I need perfect, Aria. I have to impress them." She said, adjusting her thin black belt around her waist of her new royal blue cocktail dress that Callie insisted, enhanced her eyes. Lucia had found all three girls snuggled up together that morning in bed. After they returned home from the bar, all the girls went up to Callie and Arizona's room and talked until the early morning hours. Lucia woke them up just before noon, persisting that she take them all shopping for new dresses for the party that evening.
"I wouldn't be so nervous if your mother hadn't popped this up on us. How do you forget to at mentioned your daughters fiancé is a woman? There is a lot of pressure on these shoulders." She said, touching her shoulders. "Your family is going to be rolling up in here thinking she's engaged to a man. Most of them are deeply religious Callie said, do you honestly think they'll be fine with it?"
"You're right... You're screwed." She laughed as her sister noticed them standing by the bar drinking.
"Ugh..." The blonde huffed. "Not helping Aria."
"Hey.. hey.. look at me." Callie said walking up the her fiancé. Seeing she was nervous and tense. "Stop." She said placing her hands on her fiancés shoulders. "It doesn't matter what anyone thinks. You're mine and if they don't like it they can suck it."
"But I just want them to like me." She whined.
"The ones that matter already love you."
"Well... I wouldn't go that far.. I mean we.." Aria joked before Callie cut her off.
"Shut it, Aria." Callie glared.
"Yeah." Arizona said, sticking her tongue out at her. "Who said you mattered."
"Oh wow, sticking out our tongue Z? What are you twelve?" She laughed.
"Shut up. Why don't you just go find James." Arizona growled.
"He's running late. His father called a meeting." Aria said, gulping down her drink.
"Ugh.." She said rolling her read back. "Lucky bastard."
"Baby. Stop." She said pecking her lips. "If God forbid someone says something out of the way or makes you uncomfortable we'll leave and just spend the evening at the beach or something okay?"
"Kay. I'm sorry. I'm just nervous." She gave a shy smile. "I just want to look good for you."
"I know.." She said planting another small kiss. "..and I don't care if you're just getting out of bed in the morning and have drool on your mouth and bed head, or you're dressed to the nines. You always look good baby. Come.. I want you to meet my cousin Tibby. We were inseparable when we were little." Callie said leading her along by the hand.
The evening went on with smooth conversations between the family, Arizona had met several of Callie's aunts and uncles and cousins, all of which were very accepting of her and Callie's relationship. Everything had went better than Arizona thought, a few had already knew their nieces fiancé was a women and a few were a little taken back at first, but quickly got over that fact.
"Callie, seriously." Arizona whispered to her fiancé after being introduced to Callie's Uncle Alec. "How can you have that many cousins?" The blonde asked, after meeting over half of Callie's family members.
"I only have twenty-one." Callie laughed. "Ten from my moms side. And eleven from my dads side.
"Only twenty-one? Babe I only have three cousins, one on my moms side and two on my dads. I'd kill to have had a huge family growing up." Arizona said, standing in the corner of the family room talking to Callie as the guests mingled.
"It was pretty great.. Someone to always do something with. We were all pretty tight growing up."
"Promise me we'll have all kinds of kids?" Arizona said, turning to stand in front of Callie.
"What?" She chuckled.
"I want to have a big family. I don't want to only have one or two kids. I want a whole houseful. God forbid something happen to one. But if it did, I don't want our child that have to go through what I went through with Tim, all alone. It's so lonely, Callie."
"Okay, I promise.." She said, cupping Arizona's cheeks. "We'll have ten kids if that's what you want." She said kissing pink lips.
"Ten?" Her eyes widened. "I was thinking more along the lines of three or four.. Maybe even five." She said, kissing red plump lips a little more forcefully. "Who is that guy that keeps eyeing us, babe?"
"Where?"
"He's at your eight o'clock."
Turning around slightly to see the man, "That's my Uncle Alberto. A lot of my family suspects he's into men because he's been single for six years. But I don't think s…" she paused. "..Wait… I've had a dry spell like that too.. Now look at me.. I fell in love and am engaged to be married to the most amazing beautiful woman I've ever met." She smiled, squeezing Arizona's hand.
"Well what a coincidence, so am I." Arizona teased, kissing her fiancé.
"Yo, Callie?"
Breaking the kiss, she turned at the sound of her name. "What's up Javier?"
"Cindy's looking for you." Her cousin pointed the next room.
"Oh.. Okay. Thanks Javy." She yelled back.
"I'm going to run to the ladies room, then I'll come find you." Arizona said taking a drink of her wine, then pinching Callie's butt before giggling.
"How many of those have you had?"
"Umm..." Arizona said, squinting her eyes like she was thinking hard. "I don't know, one or two." She shrugged, seeing Callie saw right through that answer. "Damn it, five or six, but now I'm completely relaxed." She mumbled, gulping her drink down while walking off in the direction of the restroom.
"Aunt Cynthia." Callie said, seeing her aunt looking her way. "I thought Mami said you couldn't make it." She said walking towards her aunt.
"Callie, darling it's so nice to see you. How have you been?" She said, wrapping her niece up in a hug.
"I've never been better. I have missed you. Where's uncle Rick?" She asked pulling back from the embrace.
"He's at the hospital, his mom fell and broke her hip last night, poor thing. He's not left her side yet. He insisted I come and meet your fiancé." She said, taking Callie's left hand to see her ring. "It's beautiful honey. All your mother has done is gush about you and this fiancé of yours.
"Awe, tell him I hope she gets better." Looking down at her ring. "I was my Nana's." She said, smiling at her aunt.
"Well tell me. Is he pretty?" Her aunt winked.
"Pretty? More like Beautiful. They have got these eyes that just..." She shook her head, Arizona's eyes were indescribable. "And this hair like... Wow.. and her smile." She smiled, noticing her aunt didn't catch on to what she was saying.
"Where is he? I can't wait to see the man that my sister says makes your face light up a room."
"Umm.. Hold on a second, I'll get them."
But before she could turn around Arizona came back and wrapped her arms around Callie's waist. "Calliope.." She purred before whispering something in her ear causing her to blush. Cynthia's eyes widening, as she witnessed the love in front of her.
"Umm. Callie, explain please?" Cynthia said in disgust, looking Arizona up and down.
"Sorry, Aunt Cindy." She said unwrapping Arizona's arms from around her waist and pulling her to stand beside her. "This is Arizona Robbins." She said, taking her fiancés hands. "My fiancé."
"Torres. Well." She said, shuffling her shoulders. "Soon to be, Arizona Torres." Arizona grimes widely. "Or Calliope Robbins."
"This is my fiancé." Callie smiled, thinking both names sounded perfect on Arizona's lips.
Letting the information sink in, Cindy thought for a second she had heard wrong. Her niece just said she was engaged to a woman? "No, Calliope." She said taking a step back.
Callie's face dropped, seeing her aunts expression. "Yes. This is who I'm marrying." She said, her tone hard as Arizona tightened the grip on her hands. "And it's Callie." She said, her aunt calling her by her full name always pissed her off.
"You let this little twink call you Calliope, but you won't let your own family call you by your actual name?"
"Excuse me?" She said stepping closer when she heard her aunt degrade her fiancé. "Arizona is my family and she can call me whatever she wants when she wants."
"Callie." Arizona tried to pull her back. "Come on, lets get out of here, baby."
"No." She said jerking her arm out of Arizona's hand.
"She's not family. Family wouldn't lead you down a path to hell." Cindy said, stepping back from her niece like she was disgusted to be near her. "There is no way your mother or father condones this behavior."
"Callie, please. Let's go." Arizona begged, grabbing Callie's arm again. "She's just trying to cause a scene now. Come with me baby, please."
"What's going on in here?" Lucia asked, noticing everything had gotten quiet. Seeing her sister and daughter eyeing each other. "Mija? What's the problem?" She said, walking up to the two.
"Problem? The problem is this little dyke here..." She said pointing to the blonde "...has turned your daughter into something she's not." Cindy asked sister. "How are you okay wit…" she was cut off with a slap to her face by her niece.
"Calliope.. No.." Arizona gasped, moving to stand behind the brunette. "Don't baby.."
"You need to shut your mouth. You don't know her, you don't know anything about her.. about us..." she pointed her finger at her aunt. "She's the only one that has ever been there for me. You better keep Arizona's and my name out of your mouth. Or so help me God…"
"Stop Callie.." Arizona demanded, pulling her fiancé back away from her aunt. "Please don't."
"But she.."
"I know, baby."
"Mija, Enough." She said to her daughter.
"Are you going to just stand there and let her hit and talk to me like that?" Cindy said, holding her cheek where Callie had popped her.
"Are you going to stand here and pretend what you just said was okay? How are you not okay with this, Cynthia?" She said, stepping in front of her daughter and soon to be daughter-in-law.
"How ar.."
"Who am I to tell my daughter who or who not to love?" Lucia spat, cutting her sister off.
"You're her mothe.."
"No!" she yelled. "That's not a reason to tell my grown daughter how to live." Lucia said, cutting her sister off again. "You can't help who you fall in love with. You can fight it, but it's out of your control and I will not stand here and let you or anyone else speak to my daughter or my future daughter-in-law in MY house like this." She said looking around, seeing that her sister has caught everyone's attention. "You and anyone else that feels this way needs to get the hell out of my house. This is a celebration for my family. If you're not here to share in this happiness with us you need to leave." Lucia said, grabbing her daughters and the blondes hand and leading them out of the room away from her sister. Pulling the two into Carlos' office, Lucia closed the door behind them. "I'm sorry, Mija."
"No mami, this isn't your fault. It's okay. I figured someone would have something to say." She said as Arizona stepped behind her with her hands on her biceps.
"Are you okay, honey?" Arizona asked.
Turning to face her fiancé. "I'm fine." She smiled. "Are you?"
"Yeah." She smiled. "This isn't my first go around with someone like that." She said taking Callie's hands. "You sure you're okay? I mean she's your family Calliope."
"Nope. If she doesn't accept who I love, she's not my family. Because family loves..."
"Unconditionally." Lucia said, stepping beside her daughter and placing her hand on her shoulder. "I do love you mija. And you too Arizona." She said, grabbing the blondes hand. "I feel like you're already a part of this family too. And I'll be proud to call you my daughter soon." She said hugging both of the girls. "How about you and Aria go ahead with your plan." She told the blonde.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, this party's about over. Go on, go have some fun on your last night here. I'll tell Aria." Lucia said, walking out of the room.
"What kinda plans do we have?" Callie turned and asked her fiancé.
"Well, let's go change out of these dresses and you'll see." Arizona said, pulling Callie out of the room and up the stairs to change.
"Booze ready?" Arizona asked. After both changing into sweat pants and hoodies, Arizona and Callie met up with James and Aria on the veranda.
"Yep. Already down at the beach." Aria replied. "You alright Cal?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." She smiled.
"What do y'all have planned?" James asked, holding his girlfriends hand.
"Well." Arizona said, wrapping her arms around Callie, burying the brunettes head in her chest. "Tonight, there is a very rare occurrence happening. So Aria and I though why not enjoy this with the people we love down on the beach." She said kissing the top of Callie's head. As her fiancé held tight to her.
"What's this occurrence you speak of?" Callie giggled.
"Well.. tonight there is a super moon and meteor shower taking place." Arizona said, taking Callie by the hand and leading them to the beach along with Aria and James. "So we decided why not spend the night under the dark sky, with a bonfire, drinks and the person we love most."
"Drinks? Don't you think you've had enough?" Callie asked her smiling blonde.
"Nope.." Arizona winked at her fiancé as the made it to the beach where Callie saw that Aria and Arizona had a large woodpile for the fire with blankets and pillows sprawled out on the beach. "Come on, our blankets are over here." Arizona said leading her to the far right of the bonfire as Aria and James were on the left about twenty feet away from them.
"I can't believe you did this." Callie smiled. "Thank you baby." She said hugging Arizona close. "You're so thoughtful." She said kissing her.
"Only for you love. Go, sit down get comfy and open the patron while we get the fire started."
Arizona sprayed lighter fluid on the wood as Aria light a piece of crumpled paper the throw on the pile starting the fire before each going back to their loved one.
"Hi."
"Hi." Callie smiled up to her beautiful fiancé.
"Why didn't you open the tequila?" Arizona said, sitting behind Callie and turning on 80's music on her Pandora app on her phone before wrapping her arms around her fiancés stomach.
"Because I know how you love the sound of the cork pooping on a fresh bottle." She laughed, settling herself back into Arizona's arms. Picking the glass bottle out of the ice bucket and holding the bottle up close to Arizona as she popped the cork.
"Ahh.. makes my mouth water every time." She giggled into Callie's neck.
"You're weird." She laughed. "Where are the shot glasses?" She asked looking around.
"It's a straight outta the bottle kinda night." Arizona said, taking the bottle from Callie and taking a drink.
"This is so nice." Callie said, laying on the blanket after they shared a bunch of shots. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." Arizona said. She was propped up on her elbow, laying on her left side staring at her fiancé as Callie watched the night sky. "I can't wait to go back home, but I'm also sad that we have to leave. I've had such a wonderful time this week. It flew by so fast." She said, pushing the hem of Callie's hoodie up so she could caress her bare stomach.
"Me too. I can't wait to see the boys." She said, placing her arms under hear head, enjoying the feel of Arizona's fingertips drawing small patterns on her stomach.
"Mmhmm.." Arizona hummed, circling her fiancés belly bottom.
"What time does the meteor shower start?"
"Around midnight, so in about roughly thirty minutes." Arizona said, skimming her fingers under the waste line of Callie's sweats and caressing the caramel skin she found. Slowly making her way further and further down Callie's hips.
"What are you doing?" Callie said, placing her hand on top of Arizona's hand that was in her pants. "My sister and James is just right there." She said looking over to the couple who had a cover thrown over top of them, not paying attention to anything else other than each other.
"Oh come on. It's not like they're not doing the same thing." Arizona said, sliding her fingers through dark curls. "Let me love you." She said, pulling the hair and leaning down and kissing red lips. "It's been three whole days." She whispered against plump lips.
Reaching over her head, Callie grabbed the tequila bottle and took a big swig before handing it to Arizona to have a drink. "Okay." She said throwing the extra blanket on top of them. James and Aria may know what they were doing, but it didn't mean they needed to see it. "Love me." Callie said laying back down.
"Yeah?" Arizona smiled taking a swig of tequila.
"Yeah." She said, smiling up at her fiancé. "I love you." She winked.
Taking one last drink, she placing the bottle back down in the sand. "I love you too." Arizona said, sliding her hand slowly down Callie's pants, meeting brown curls again. "Just lay back and enjoy, my love."
"My pleasure." Callie said, resting her head on her folder arms again.
"Oh, it's definitely your pleasure." Arizona purred. Bringing her fingers down further and circling Callie's clit.
"Mmm.." Callie moaned, closing her eyes at the sensation shooting through her body.
"Relax and spread your legs a little more." She said, cupping her fiancés mound, and putting firm pressure on her core. "I love this." She said sliding her fingers through Callie's wet folds and back up to circle her clit. "You are always so ready for me, whether I tease you for twenty minutes or twenty seconds."
"All I have to do is look at you and I'm ready." Callie whispered, turning her head into Arizona neck to drown out her moans. Leaving her head buried in her girlfriend, her breath became more shallow as Arizona continued to bring her closer to her peak.
"I'm.." Callie breathed. Closing her eyes tight to fight back the loud moan that threatened to escape her mouth. "I'm so close." she mumbled in the blondes neck.
"I know.. I can feel you." She said, as she slowly continued to enter her fiancé and lightly circled her thumb over the throbbing clit.
"Oh god." Callie moaned loudly.
"Shh..."
"You alright over there Cal?" Aria laughed, hearing her sisters moans.
Throwing her middle finger up at her sister, "Be nice." Arizona told her, never taking her eyes off her fiancé. Cupping the back of Arizona's neck, Callie brought her in for a slow languid kiss. Not having a care in the world that Aria knew what she was doing. "I'm.. Oh fuck, Arizona... Mmm.. Yes." She hissed. "Right there.. Don't stop.." She whined as her orgasm hit. "Oh Jesus... Babyyyy..." She moaned into the blondes neck, taking several seconds to catch her breath before placing light kisses all over her chest.
"I love seeing you come like that." Arizona said, brushing her nose against the brunettes after a few minutes.
"I love when you make me come like that." She breathed in her fiancés mouth. "I can't believe I let you do that with my sister right over there." She laughed, hearing Aria and James moans get a little louder.
"No shame. It's not like they don't know I have my way with you anytime I want." She teased.
"Mmhmm.." Callie giggled.
"Case in point." Arizona said pulling her right hand out of Callie's pants and sucking her fingers clean.
"Do you have to be so crude?" She laughed.
"You like it." She said, pulling her middle finger out of her mouth.
"Maybe.." She said as Arizona pushed her tongue in her mouth causing her to moan at the taste of her arousal on her fiancés tongue. Pulling back breathlessly, "Oh.. It's time." She said, seeing a shooting start out if the corner of her eye.
Looking up to the sky, Arizona didn't see anything. "I think you're still riding high from that mind blowing orgasm you just had."
"Maybe." She giggled, as Arizona layer her head on Callie's chest, waiting for the meteor shower to start. "I love you." She said kissing blonde hair.
"I love you too." Arizona said, her eyes starting to get heavy from all the drinks she consumed.
Hearing a ringing, Callie woke up dazed, still laying on the beach. They had fell asleep in each other's arms before the meteor shower was even over. Looking over to her left, Callie seen Aria and James cuddled up under the blanket similar to her and Arizona. Hearing the ringing again, Callie looked over Arizona to see the blondes phone buzzing. "Who in the world is calling at this time of night?" She whispered to herself. Reaching over for the phone, she seen it was five o'clock in the morning.
"Hello?" She muttered.
"Callie?" The voice said worriedly.
"Daniel? What's wrong?" She said, sitting up.
"It's Barbara..."
Uh-oh... dun..dun..dunnn...
