Chapter 37
"No.. no.. no." Arizona moaned as she heard her emergency pager go off on the bedside table. "I'm sleeping." She growled. Throwing the pillow over her head. River saw movement at the top of the bed and decided now was as good a time as any to play with his mama. Pouncing on the pillow Arizona had threw over her head. "River! No." She said, sitting up in the bed. "You wake Callie up and you're dealing with her. You know how grumpy your mom can't get so behave or I'll put you out." She told the dog, pulling him into her arms as she got up and checked her pager. Looking over to her fiancé who was bundled up in the covers with Charlie asleep in her arms. "Lucky dog." She groaned. Getting dressed quickly after she read her pager. Deciding to let her fiancé know she had to leave, "Callie." She whispered. "Callie." She said shaking the woman.
"What?" She said in her sleep filled husky voice. "What time is it?"
"It's four in the morning honey. I just got paged in, do you want me to put the dogs out before I leave?" She asked while pulling on her socks.
"No. He's keeping me warm." She grumbled still half asleep, her hold on Charlie tightened as River moved to lay on top of Callie's head. Thrashing her head around trying to drive away the unwanted weight, she swatted at the dog. "Get your ass off me." She whined, trying to push him away.
"But that's my job. I like keeping you warm." She said, slipping on her shoes as Callie held her arms out for her to slip between them. Laughing, "I can't." She said smacking her fiancés arm. "Get off her River." She shooed the dog out of Callie's face. "I'm going honey." She said placing a kiss on her temple. "Love you."
"Love me too, baby." She mumbled before letting out a soft snore.
Looking back at the sleeping woman in her bed, Arizona's heart swelled with more love if that was even possible. "How did I get so lucky." She whispered, closing the door and exiting the house.
It had been a few weeks since their hasty trip back to Seattle to be by Barbara's side. The girls had went home and collapsed in the bed with their dogs and slept for three hours without moving an inch after Arizona's moms surgery. Returning to the hospital that evening as promised with dinner for Daniel, comfy pajamas for Barb and tons of pictures from their trip to show, they sat around and talked till late evening. The following day, Daniel took Barbara home and the girls came over to help Barbara get settled into bed. Helping Arizona clean up around her parents house, Callie decided to help them out and make a couple of meals for Daniel to quickly heat for the first couple of days for Barbara's recovery.
Their lives had returned to normal, well a little faster pace than normal after missing a week for vacation, they both tried to play catch up at work. Now over two weeks back home things were slowing down, or they were until being paged in this morning.
"Sara, hi honey." Arizona smiled at the little dark haired girl. "What's going on with ya, sweet girl?" She asked, sitting in her stool and sliding up to the girl on the bed. She has came in to the clinic minutes ago with the parents waiting on her by the front door.
"I'm sorry, Dr. Robbins, We didn't know whether or not to bring her here or the hospital. And I know you are one of the best, so we decided here.
"No. No don't be sorry, Maura. That's what I gave you my emergency paper number for." She said, looking at the sickly Sara. "What's going on with her?" She asked, taking her temperature.
"Well, she woke up vomiting and complaining with her side, and she had been running a fever. I was afraid it was more than just a virus." The mother said.
"Well lets see.." She said, placing the stethoscope in her ears and doing a few breathing tests on the little girl. "Has she been complaining of a stomach ache or anything?"
"Yeah, has said all day that she wasn't feeling good, but I thought she was just coming down with something."
"She's got a fever." She said, placing the thermometer on the table. "Can you show me where you're hurting Sara?"
The little girl placed her hand on her stomach to the right of her belly button. Arizona palpated the child's stomach feeling tenderness. "Ahh, yes. That is one angry appendix, huh." She said. Looking to the parents. "It's going to have to come out."
"Noo…" Sara, cried. "I don't want surgery, no. I'm scared."
"It's okay, sweetie. You wont feel a thing, I promise. And it will give you an excuse to eat ice cream for dinner." Arizona winked at the little girl. Seeing the parents silent struggle with their daughters sudden illness. "I can page Dr. Torres in and we can take care of this right now upstairs in our outpatient surgery, or if you need time to discu..."
"This.. Dr. Torres? She's good right? I think I've heard of her, she was at Seattle Grace, right?" Maura asked, cutting the doctor off.
"Yes, but she's now half owner here, Dr. Torres is the best leading Pediatric surgeon there is."
Looking to her husband, "Okay." Maura said, shaking her head. "Okay, lets go with her, Page Dr. Torres." She said, walking up to her daughters bed.
"Okay. I'll come and get you when we're ready." Arizona said, exiting the room and quickly calling Callie only to get her voice mail. After sending her a quick page, she dialed her number again. "Come on, pick up, Callie." She said to herself.
Hitting her shin on the edge of the bed, she answered the phone "Oww, damn it."
"Callie? What's wrong?"
"I was chasing the damn dog, he grabbed my phone when it started ringing the first time and ran off with it. Apparently Charlie's not a fan of being woken early either. Why are you calling?" She said, sitting on the bed in the dimly lit room. "Wait.. that sounded terrible. Not that I mind, but it's awful early for you to be calling and telling me you miss me, and.."
"Calliope... breath please." She giggled. "I need you to come in. I have a girl that needs an emergency appy."
"Okay be there in ten, get Carlson on.."
"Already on it.." Arizona said, paging him as she spoke to Callie.
"Kay. See ya in a few." She said, quickly hanging up and throwing her clothes on and heading to the clinic a few miles away.
After paging the Anesthesiologist and calling Callie, Arizona put on her fiancé a cup of coffee and searched through Teddy's snack drawer to find Callie a little 'wake me up' snack before the surgery. With the hot java in hand, Arizona waited by the front door for her fiancé, Neither would take the back exit anymore alone. Seeing Callie's headlights pull up, Arizona met her outside.
"Hi, I made you some coffee." Arizona said, taking herself a sip before handing it to Callie.
"Awe, thanks. You didn't have too." Callie said taking the warm cup and sipping the contents. "So, fill me in on this case." She said, walking into Arizona's office and locking her purse up and pulling on a pair of scrubs. "Okay. Carlson ready?" Callie asked, after Arizona had briefed her on the case of the little girl.
"Yep."
"I'm going to need an assist. You up for it?" Callie asked, putting on her lab coat, before walking downstairs to talk to the child's parents before operating.
"Uhh.." she asked, sticking her hands in the pockets of her coat. "Yeah.. are you sure?"
"Yes, you have been in an OR before, am I right?" Callie asked.
"Well, yea. But not since my training. I've held some retractors and stuff, but that's the gist of it."
"That's all I need from you, to hand me instruments and stuff." she smiled, looking over to her fiancé, seeing her a little nervous fidget. "But you're not comfortable, we can call April or Teddy?"
"No.. no, I want too." she smiled. "It'll be our first time. I'll finally get to see how calm and badass the great Dr. Torres really is." she winked, opening the door to Sara's room.
"So your birthday is in two days, anything special you want to do?" Arizona asked, standing on the opposite side of Callie. They were almost finished with her finances flawless surgery.
"Kelly Clamp?" She said, holding her hand out for Arizona to place the instrument in. "Umm.. I dunno." She shrugged. "I wouldn't mind just a quiet night at home with some takeout and catching up on the episodes of American Horror Story we missed." Birthdays didn't really thrill Callie much anymore, since her family was all the way across the country.
"You know how that show scares me."
"Yeah, but you bury your head in my chest when you're scared. That's the main reason I like to watch it." She laughed.
"Dr. Torres." She glared, "Are you about done here?" Arizona didn't like to talk about the intimates of their relationship in front of their employees at work.
"Yup sorry.. and I haven't really celebrated my birthday in a while. I usually worked, and sometimes Mark would take me to have a few drinks at Joes."
"Calliope, No. This is your first birthday that I get to celebrate. I want to celebrate you."
"Okay, I will for you." She emphasized. "I'll do whatever you want as long as it's at home."
"Okay I can work with that. Hmm.. Ooh.. how about throwing a pool party? Karev just got the pool up and running, we can throw some chicken or steak on the grill and have everyone over and I'll get you a cake." She grinned under her mask. "What do you think?"
"As long as I'm spending it with you, I don't care." She smiled, under her mask.
"Awesome." Arizona said, seeing Callie's eyes light up. "I'll call everyone and let them know... Anything.." She shrugged. "In particular you want for your birthday?"
"Nope." She said, finishing up with the surgery. "All done here." She said, pulling off her gown and walking into the scrub room.
"There isn't anything you want?" Arizona asked, following behind and scrubbing out also.
"No." she said, drying her hands. "I have everything I want and need." She said, pulling Arizona in for a soft kiss. "I missed you this morning, the bed was too cold."
Shoving Callie off her playfully, "Don't give me that crap. You are the one that was all cuddled up to Charlie when I woke up this morning, while I was all by my lonesome cold on the other side of the bed. You love him more than me." she pouted jokingly with Callie.
"Not true." she said, throwing the wet towel in the disposable bin. "I love him and River this much." she said, holding her hands out in front of her about a foot apart. "And I love you this much." She said spreading her arms out as far as she could.
"Yeah, yeah.. whatever. Let's get Sara back into her room." she said walking back into the OR.
"So we still on for tonight?" Arizona asked, walking out of the recovery room. They had just finished talking to their patients parents and were on their way to have a cup of coffee and breakfast before their day actually got started.
"Yes. I can't wait." She said, reaching for her finances hand. Tonight they were finally going to sit down and discuss wedding dates. Since the night of their big blow up in Miami they hadn't really had time to just sit and talk about how their days went much less wedding talk.
"Me neither. Pizza or Chinese?"
"Hmm.. I feel it's a T-shirt and panties, pizza in bed kinda night. Don't ya think?"
"If that's what my baby wants, that's what she'll get." The blonde yawned.
"Yey." She teased, bumping the blonde on the hip. "Come on, lets skip breakfast and go take a nap in your office before everyone shows up. Charlie's not here to steal your warmth." She winked.
Teddy had to wake the girls up from their little power nap, she had entered the building and noticed the women's cars parked out front but didn't hear either one. Walking buy Arizona's office she heart light snores coming from behind the door. Pushing to door open she found both girls wrapped around each other, with Arizona's head in Callie's chest asleep.
After the long day, the girls finally found themselves lying in bed, waiting on their delivery order. "I got an email this morning..." Callie said, scrolling through her iPad.
"..from one of my old high school classmates about our 15 year reunion coming up." She said, her back leaning against the headboard of the bed.
"Geez, you've had the same email that long?" The blonde teased.
"No, smart ass. They searched my name online." Callie said, swatting the blondes behind. Arizona was laying on her stomach flipping through the channels on the TV. "I don't think Hott Latina 02 is a great email address for a surgeon."
"Really? Hott Latina." Arizona laughed.
"Oh let me guess you had one better.. Let's see.." She squinted her eyes at her trying to think of a name she would use. "Blue eyed dimpled blonde." She laughed.
"Yeah so." She said, her smile fading when Callie guessed her old email address. Moving to sit up beside Callie. "It's now DrRobbins."
"Uh.. No. Actually it's DrARobbinsMD"
Callie smiled.
"Huh?"
"Well, I was going to surprise you. But I'll go ahead and tell you. Karev's pretty computer suave, if you didn't know. So I had him set us up a website for the clinic and now we have new emails." She smiled. "And.. that's not all. When you google pediatrician's in Washington State, our website is the first one to pop up, see?" She said, showing Arizona her iPad screen. "Tinyhumans dot com."
"Seriously?" She smiled. Taking the iPad from her fiancé and clicking on the site. "Callie... this is amazing." She said looking through the site. "Whose idea was this?" she asked pointing to all the Disney characters on the site.
"Mine. I wanted it to reflect you and the clinic." Callie said. As much as she denied it, Callie couldn't picture the clinic decorated any differently.
"I really am rubbing off on you huh?" She winked. "Who would have thought anyone would see that day where bad ass Calliope Torres would pick Disney characters for anything."
"I would. Some people will do anything for the person they love." She said leaning in for a kiss. "I'm sure you would change it to dark and frowny of I wanted you too."
"Hmm.. Nope. Because as much as you like to think so." Arizona said, pushing Callie to lay down on her back. "You're not a dark and frowny kinda girl, Calliope." She said laying flush on top of her fiancé.
"What kinda girl am I then?" She asked, as Arizona pinned her arms down above her head.
"You, my love are a caring. Compassionate. Full of vigor." She said between kisses. "And when I think of you, I don't see dark and frowny colors, I see red because you have so much passion and are so full of life and love. And also because you look smoking hot in it too." She giggled nestling her nose against Callie's before capturing red lips in a passionate kiss just as the door bell rang.
"Mmm.. dinners here." The blonde said pulling back from the kiss and standing from the bed. "I'll be right back. You better get rid of those pants before I get back too." She said walking out of the room.
"Ooh.. I'm so full." Arizona whined, sitting back in the bed and rubbing her stomach. "Why did you let me eat that last piece."
"You don't listen to me so why try." Callie laughed, placing her wine glass in the night stand by her bed. "You going to be okay?" She asked, looking at Arizona's scrunched up face.
"I think I'm going to be sick." She said, scooting to the edge of the bed and rubbing her belly. "Oh no.." She said standing up and rushing to the bathroom to empty her stomach. Feeling Callie pull her hair out of her face.
"Get it out babe." She said, rubbing the blondes back. She knew if Arizona kept eating this would happen, but there was know way she would listen the blondes eyes were always bigger than her stomach.
"Oh, God. I feel so bad right now." she groaned. She was resting on her knees with her head lying on her arm that was slung across the toilet seat.
"I'm sorry baby." Callie said kneeling down with her fiancé and combing her fingers through blonde tresses. "You think you can get up?"
"Yeah." she said, pushing herself off the floor. "Sorry, it seems like the universe keeps throwing things at us keeping us from making a decision about the wedding date." She said giving Callie a sad look.
"It's okay, come on. I'll hold you and we'll talk."
Climbing back into bed after brushing her teeth and washing her face, she laid back in Callie's arms. "Okay, I'm suddenly so nervous.." The blonde said, resting her head on the brunettes chest.
"Shew, I was scared I was the only one." She said, scratching Arizona's side.
"Wait.." Arizona said, leaning up on her elbow. "Is that a bad sign? We're both nervous."
"Ah.. No. It's just a big step. Deciding the date to begin the rest of our lives together as wife and wife is a huge deal. It's a day that we will never forget so, no. I don't think it's a bad sign."
"Good." Arizona sighed, laying back down.
"You feeling better baby?"
"Yeah, a lot better." She said, kissing the bare skin on the caramel chest. "So, when were you thinking? Do you want to do it in the summer or wait when it starts cooling off?"
Rolling over so the were now face to face, "Well, I've always loved the month of September. It's not too hot and it's not cold either." Callie said.
"A fall wedding?"
"I love the changing of summer to fall season." She shrugged. "It's just a suggestion. What are you thinking?"
"What's today... March 25th?" She said, counting the months up in her head. "September is five months away. That's doable, right? It gives us enough to time to plan."
"So September?" Callie questioned, grabbing Arizona's hand and placing a soft kiss on top of her blondes smooth skin.
"Yes." She said, her gaze going from their laced hands, to brown eyes. Smiling when she saw Callie looking at her lovingly. "September has always been one of my favorite months, plus it was the month we moved into our home."
"Okay, September it is. What about the date?" The brunette asked.
"Well, I'd love to do it on Tim's birthday, September 16th. But I don't want to feel like I'm replacing that day, it's not a sad day for me as the day I proposed to you, which is one of the best days of my life, now." She said, caressing the brunettes cheek.
"I don't want that either."
"What about the 20th?" Arizona asked.
"Is it on the weekend?"
"I think so." Arizona said, reaching for her phone on her night stand. "Yeah, she said looking at her calendar. It's a Saturday."
"So, September 20th is our wedding date?" Callie asked, brushing blonde hair out of Arizona's face.
"September 20th." Arizona mumbled to herself. "Yeah, I like it." She smiled, looking to her fiancé.
"Okay, September 20th. You will be mine, always and forever." Callie smiled into a kiss.
"I'm already yours, always and forever." Arizona said, kissing her on the nose. "Nothing will ever change that."
"Never." Callie said, running her index finger over the blondes jawline. "So.. Colors?"
"Well, it's fall. So fall colors? Or were you thinking something else?"
"Well, I've been thinking about that.." Callie said, resting her head in her hand. "What do you think about blue and brown? It matches our eye color and I love how the colors go together. Or teal and purple? That would be pretty too?"
"Hmm.. Both are great in their own right.. How about we think on that one?" Arizona's asked.
"Deal. I want to pick our first dance song."
"Okay." She said, grinning slyly at Callie. Her fiancé had good taste in music so she knew she wouldn't disappoint.
"What about the venue?"
"Well, I was thinking.. Since the river holds so many first for us. We met for the first time and made love for the first time and got engaged there, I think It's the only place I see suitable for us to become one, I'm sure we'd have to talk to the park rangers, but I think they'd let us. What do you think?" The blonde grinned.
"I couldn't see us getting married anywhere else." Callie said caressing her index finger down Arizona's nose.
"Me neither." Arizona smiled. "So it's settled. On September 20th we will get married at the river." She said. She secretly prayer for the day to hurry, because she couldn't wait for the day to be Callie's wife. Her eyes flickered from brown iris' to the shiny engagement ring on the brunettes finger that was laced with her hand.
"I'm so excited to start picking out dresses and invitations... oh and cake tasting."
"My favorite. I love a good cake." Arizona laughed, scooting closer to her fiancé as Callie wrapped her arms around her.
"I know." She laughed, kissing the blonde on her forehead. "So, I'm having trouble with my maid of honor position. I can't pick between Aria and Addie. Whoever I pick, the other will be hurt."
"You should pick Aria. Addie will understand. I couldn't imagine your sister not being in our wedding, she feels so much like my own sister... Oh." She said, pulling back from the embrace to look Callie in the eyes. "I have the perfect thing for Addie. She can be the wedding planner. You know how much she loves bossing people around, she would be so good at it."
"Hmm.. I bet she would be good, she does have good taste and knows what we like. I'll talk to her. You asking Teddy?" Callie asked, broaching the subject, she knew how Arizona had said that Tim was so excited to be the best man at her wedding one day. Now that day was only five months away and he wasn't here.
"Yeah. She'll be so excited."
"Uh.. I want to incorporate Tim in it somehow. What do you think?" Callie asked, knowing that Arizona was probably thinking the same thing but just not voicing it.
"You do?"
"Well, yeah. I mean.. Even if he's not here anymore doesn't make him any less than my brother." She said, coming her fingers through long blonde hair.
"It doesn't." She said, reveling the the feel of Callie comforting hands on her.
"I know how much you want him standing there right beside you when we commit our lives to each other." She said, tangling their legs together. "We're already having the wedding at the river and I know you feel closer to him there, but maybe we can have a picture at the alter or something."
Shaking her head, she couldn't believe how supportive and loving Callie was. Caressing her face with her thumb on the apple of the Latinas cheek. "That would be perfect." She smiled, when their eyes met. There was times that she thought she couldn't love Callie more, and then she goes and does or says things like this. Just the simplest gesture could put her in pure awe of the amazing woman Arizona would so be able to call her wife. "Thank you."
"You're welcome, honey. I think I'll talk to Addie Friday when everyone's here for the party."
"I'm going to talk to Teddy then too. I'm so excited, Calliope." Arizona said, melting her body back into the brunettes.
"Me too, baby. Me too." Callie moaned, feeling their body's mold perfectly together. "You know, I really should let the boys in before we get too comfy to get up."
"Nope, already there. They can keep their behinds outside and keep each other warm tonight. They're not stealing you away from me again. They keep that up and they'll find themselves out there permanently."
"You're jealous."
"What? I am not jealous of a dog, much less my own."
"You are." Callie laughed.
"I am not. The only reason I keep you around is to stay warm at night, so I don't have to run up the heating bill in the winter." She teased. "So sue me if I get a little grumpy."
"Oh, that's the only reason?" The brunette asked
"Umhmm."
"Oh, cause I thought you keep me around because I can do..." Snaking her hand between there body's, Callie ran her thumb over the blondes breast, brushing over her nipple. "..this." She said, feeling the hardening peak under her hand that was now cupping the blondes breast. "I was hoping it was because I could turn you on with just one small touch."
"Oh god.." Arizona moaned. Feeling her body spike with chills all over. She could already feel the throb in her clit begging to be touched. "Touch me, Calliope." She said, taking her hand and sucking the Latinas middle finger in her mouth before slowly guiding the brunettes hand into her already wet panties.
"Gladly." She smiled, feeling the pulsing need in Arizona's core immediately.
"You're going down, Altman." Arizona yelled from across her pool to her best friend.
"Get real Grandma."
"Grandma Teddy. Really?" Arizona laughed, "You are aware I'm only older than you by a few months aren't you?" All of their friends, and Arizona's parents had come over to celebrate Callie's birthday. Currently Daniel and Barbara were manning the grill while the younger ones were playing games in the pool like the teenagers at heart they really were. They had been playing a game of Chicken, that led to a huge competition in which Arizona and Callie was going head to head with Teddy and Henry for the championship.
"Yep. Which means no matter what, you're still older than me, Grammy." Teddy said, stepping down into the water.
"We got this Calliope." She said, jumping into the deep water.
"Damn right." She said, following the blondes lead and jumped into the water behind her.
"Have you talked to Addie yet?"
"No, I'm going to wait until we eat. You talked to Teddy?"
"Yup." Arizona said, placing a chaste kiss on red wet lips. "She's super excited."
"Good, cause I'm super excited too." She said leaning in for one more kiss.
"Alright you too, quit holding the game up." Teddy yelled, sitting on top of Henry's shoulders.
"Bring it home baby." Callie winked before going down under the water for Arizona to sit atop of her shoulders.
"Come on Teddy, knock her ass down." Addison yelled from her spot in the hot tub with Alex, sipping her wine.
"Why don't you shut your yapper, and watch us win the championship from your little kiddie pool." Arizona yelled to her friend, who was sitting in the hot tube with her boyfriend. Arizona always took her challenges serious.
"Put your money where your mouth is Arizona." The red head shot back.
"Suck it, Montgomery."
"Callie you going to let her talk to your best friend like that?" Addison yelled to her friend.
"Yes. Sorry Addie, but I have no intention of sleeping on the couch any night, much less on my birthday." Callie yelled back.
"That's right, baby." Arizona said, holding onto Callie's hands for support before the game started. "She knows what side her breads buttered on." She winked to Addison.
"Alright you four, keep it clean." Owen yelled from the side of the pool., with a beer in his hand. "Teams ready?"
"We are." Henry confirmed.
"Bring it, Burton." Callie growled, trying to intimidate Henry with the famous Torres glare.
"Don't look at her babe." Teddy said, smacking Henry in the head. "She's trying to physic you out."
"Stare him down, baby. Show him who's boss." The blonde said, from atop of her finances shoulders. "Alright, Altman." Arizona said, swatting at her friend, causing Teddy to lean back a little to far. "Time to make you my bitch." Quickly taking advantage of her friends unsteady position, she leaned forward and gave Teddy a hard push causing Henrys feet to slip out from under him, causing him and the dark blonde to crash backwards into the water.
"Yes!" Arizona yelled holding her hands above her head. "We win, you suck, we rule all, mini wave in celebration of us!" Arizona teased her friend.
"Oh yea?" Teddy said, pushing Arizona off Callie's shoulders unexpectedly.
"I.. Theodoraaa..." Arizona yelled, falling off Callie's shoulders, hitting her right hand on the cement edge of their in ground pool.
"Oh, Zo. I'm sorry." Teddy gasped, seeing her friend hit her hand on the hard surface.
"Oww.." Arizona whimpered, coming up out of the water.
"What happened?" Callie said, quickly turning towards her fiancé.
"I hit my hand." She said, holding it out of Callie to see. "Oww." She gasped when she felt Callie apply a small amount of pressure.
"Sorry, sweetie. But I need to check." Callie said, examining the hand. Feeling around for any brakes. Bones had always fascinated Callie, she even started to go into Ortho, but she couldn't help falling in love with all those babies on her first Peds rotation. "I don't think any things broken. You should be fine, baby." She said, kissing her fiancés injured hand.
"Thanks a lot Teddy." She scolded her friend. "Today's Callie's birthday and I can't even satisfy my woman tonight." She said, holding up her injured hand.
"Ooh.. No worries baby, there is always your tongue." Callie purred, just loud enough for the two friends to hear. Causing Arizona to lean in and nestle her nose into Callie's cheek bone.
Licking Callie's lips slowly with her tongue, "I'm beginning to think you only like me for my tongue techniques." Arizona giggled.
"Mmm.. Nah, it's just my favorite part of you." She giggled.
"You two make me sick." Teddy groaned. "Get a room."
"We have one, a whole house full actually and you're welcome to leave anytime." She said against red lips.
"Be nice." Callie said, smacking Arizona on the butt.
"Foods ready." Barbara yelled from the grill, causing everyone to hurry out of the water. There was always empty stomachs when the booze was flowing.
After the food and the alcohol were consumed, the party started to die down. Callie had talked to Addison about the wedding, with her gladly accepting to take on responsibility for the big show. After the birthday cake was served, which Arizona had made sure it was red velvet, Callie's favorite. The guest began to disperse home, with Barbara and Daniel staying to help the girls clean up after the party.
"Did you have a good birthday, sweetie?" Arizona asked, laying back on the lounger with her fiancés resting between her legs.
"Yes. I did, thank you." She said, hearing Arizona's parents car pull out of the driveway.
"I have a gift for you... well, two... well technically three gifts." She laughed.
"I told you you didn't need to get me anything."
"I know you did. But I can't not get you anything for your birthday, Calliope." She said, leaning to her right to pull the gift bag out from behind the chair to sit beside her. "Look." she said, pointing towards the sky. "You see the North Star right there?"
"Yeah?"
"Count four stars to the right. See it?"
"Uh, Yep." Callie laughed.
"Okay count four stars down under it."
"Kay?"
"That star right there is called Calzona."
Turning her head, she looked at Arizona confused as to why she was telling her this. "That's nice." She laughed.
Seeing that Callie wasn't catching on she decided she needed to start with the gift. "Here." She said, handing Callie the bag. "Maybe this will help."
Sitting up in the chair and turning towards, Arizona. She looked into the bag, pulling out a framed sky chart. "What.. exactly is this?" She said, trying to read the chart.
"That's a chart that contains the star name, Calzona." She said pointing to the name. "The star date." She said pointing the the date. "March 27th. I made sure they didn't register the name until today, I wanted it to be on your birthday. The constellation and the location are circled in red where the star is in the sky."
"You named a star after us?" Callie asked, looking back at the frame.
"Yeah. Since laying out under the stars is kind of our thing, I thought, why not name one after us." She said, smiling at Callie. "It's stupid isn't it?" She said, not being able to read the expression on her firs fed face.
"No, no. It's pretty cool actually." She laughed, looking up into blue eyes. "We have a star named after us." She grinned wider. "No matter what.. It will be there for eternity and we can show our kids and grandkids."
"We do."
"But, Calzona? How did you come up with that? It sounds like a folded up pizza." She laughed.
"Well, we both love a good pizza." She winked. "I took the beginning of your name and the end of my name, because I didn't thing Arilliope sounded so great." She laughed.
"We do sound delicious." She teased. "This is a great gift honey, thank you." She said, leaning forward to kiss pink lips.
"There is also something else in the bag." She said, pulling the tissue paper out.
"Oh." She said, reaching into the bag and pulling out a little gift box. "What's this?" She grinned. Shaking the box.
"Just open it."
Opening the box, Callie saw a Tiffany-style bracelet with a custom engraved sterling silver heart shaped pendant, with their star name and date imbedded on the heart. "Awe, Arizona it's beautiful, I love it." She said pulling it out of the box. "Put it in me." She said holding her wrist out.
"Perfect." Arizona said, locking the bracket in place.
"Thank you." She said, mumbling into Arizona's mouth.
"You're welcome, but there is one more gift."
"Another one?" She grinned.
"Yep." She winked, moving the bags to the ground beside them. "I saved the best for last." She giggled, pushing her pants down her legs quickly revealing a dark navy garter belt with matching blue stockings, causing Callies mouth to go instantly dry. Seeing Callie's eyes laugh up, she pulled off her shirt, revealing a Strappy Chantilly lace navy lingerie piece with padded cups. Sexy straps framed the blondes curves in all the right places. Cutout sides under the bottom of her breasts, giving Callie just a small glimpse of the swell of the mounds before her, with matching v-string panties that completed the piece.
"Fuck." Callie said, swallowing the large lump in her throat.
"Happy Birthday, Calliope." She smiled, leaning back on the lounger and pushing the lever to lay the chair completely down.
"Happy fucking Birthday." Callie mumbled, looking Arizona's body up and down.
