Chapter 38

Just twelve days after Callie's 32nd birthday, she celebrated Arizona's with a Candle light dinner on the beach down below their house. Callie just kept it low key evening at home knowing Arizona loved the simpler things in life. Callie had decorated the beach with Arizona's favorite flowers and candles similar to the way she had planned for her proposal back in November. Fixing her one of her favorite meals. The same dinner she had fixed Arizona when the blonde was released from the hospital all those months ago. Arizona had fell in love with her Chicken Alfredo from the first time the sauce touched her lips. During the dinner, Arizona had mentioned something about Chickens in passing, which made Callie feel bad for promising Arizona chickens on Valentines day and still not following through yet, especially since it was already April. Deciding not to mention the promised birds, she decided to keep quiet and plan a surprise, later in the week to surprise Arizona with a trip to Peckers Poultry Farm in Tacoma.

"Arizona. Are you ready?" Callie yelled from the foyer in their house Saturday morning.

"Yeah, I'm coming. Just had to put the dogs up." She said, pulling on her light jacket. "So now will you tell me where we're going?" she asked, walking into the room.

"Nope." Callie smiled, when the light caught Arizona's new Love charm that went perfect with her heart necklace she had purchased for her fiancés 31st birthday. Callie had silently noticed Arizona eyeing the charm on their walks to lunch for weeks, never voicing that she wanted it. But Callie saw her eyes light up every time they went by the store window at Tiffany's. "Lets go." she said, grabbing the jeep keys from the table near the door.

"Why are we taking the jeep and not one of the cars?" she questioned, seeing Callie pick up her jeep keys.

"Because I want to, now hush and come on." She said walking out to the blue jeep and opening the passenger door for Arizona to get in. "Wait." She said, just before the blonde was about to hop in the vehicle. "I need to put this on you." She said, pulling out a scarf from her pocket.

"Seriously?" She said, slightly winching like she was in pain.

"Just do it. Let me surprise you, okay. Turn around." She said, tying the scarf around the blondes eyes, blocking off her view.

"This better be good, Callie."

Closing Arizona's open mouth. "Would you please shut your beautiful mouth and just go with it? Okay." Callie said, helping Arizona into the Jeep and buckling her up.

"Okay." she groaned. "At least tell me how long I'm going to have to sit like this looking like a fool?"

"Arizona, Please." Callie said, getting into the drivers seat of the car. "It's about forty-five minutes to an hour away. Can you at least pretend to be happy, geez." she said, starting the jeep and pulling out of the driveway.

"Sorry.. sorry." she said, blindly searching for Callie's hand that was resting on the brunettes thigh. Bringing Callie's hand to her mouth and laying a light kiss on the top. "Yey. Fun." she laughed, lacing her fingers through her fiancés hand.

"You could drop the sarcastic comments too." Callie said, dropping the blondes hand swiftly and turning the radio up. If Arizona wanted to act all blah about the little surprise, Callie would let her sit and think about the way she's acting in silence.

"Sorry." Arizona huffed after some awkward silence. "I'm just tired." she said, crossing her arms and leaning her head back on the headrest of her seat.

"You fell asleep on the couch before eight o'clock last night, Arizona and I let you sleep till nine this morning. How are you tired?" She asked, driving down the road.

"I didn't sleep good, I was up and down all night. My stomach has been bothering me since yesterday evening."

"Why didn't you tell me? I could have ran to the pharmacy and got you something for your stomach. Now I feel bad because you stayed up with me while watching TV in the living room last night."

"I don't know.. It just comes and goes. I didn't mean to fall asleep on you. It was the first night besides my birthday that we got to spend together alone in almost a week and I just wanted to spend it with you. We didn't even get to make love on my birthday." She whined. "I've been on my period for almost a week now, Callie. I've never in my life gone this long and the longer I'm on it, the more I keep hurting. And I didn't want to go to bed and leave you down stairs by yourself."

"I'm a big girl, Arizona. I think I can handle staying up by myself. And I would have laid down with you if you would have told me you felt bad. Do you still feel bad?" Callie asked, looking over to the blonde. Come to think of it, she did look a little pale today.

"Yeah." Arizona said. Feeling the jeep slow down quickly. "Wha.. What are you doing?" she asked, feeling the jeep stop.

"Cramping or just an upset stomach?"

"Both, I think my stomachs just upset because it hurts so much though."

"Why didn't you tell me you've been hurting babe?" Callie asked, taking her hand in hers.

"I don't know. I just thought it would pass, but it didn't." She shrugged.

"How long have you been cramping?"

"Well, on and off since I started, last Sunday. But it's just got worse in the past two days."

"Have you tried any mydol?"

"Yes, it's not phasing it."

"Okay, I'm going to take you home and put you to bed. I don't want you to feel like you have to go anywhere if you're not feeling well." Callie said, checking traffic before she began to pull back on the road.

"No.." Arizona said, placing her hand blindly on the steering wheel. "We're already half way or more there, am I right? Lets just go. I'll be okay. I don't want to spoil your plans."

"Honey, you're not spoiling anything." Callie said, talking the scarf off of Arizona's head. "I'll stop by the pharmacy and see what I can find for you to take. I'm taking you home and I'll make you some soup. We can do this next weekend. I'll call your mom and Addie and see if they can wait until tomorrow to come over and talk about the wedding, you need to get some rest."

"No, please don't. We've all been looking forward to tonight for two weeks. I don't want a little stomach ache to ruin everything." She said, grabbing Callie's hand.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah. I'll be alright."

"Come here." Callie said, pulling her in for a hug. "I'm sorry you feel bad, baby." She said, rubbing her back. "We won't be there long, and then I'll take you home and put you to bed so you can get some rest before they come over."

"Kay."

"You going to be okay?"

"Yeah, I'm okay, thank you." She said, leaning back into her seat. She hadn't mean to be so grumpy towards Callie but she was easily irritated when she didn't feel well.

"Promise you'll tell me if you start feeling worse?"

"Promise." Arizona said, squeezing Callie's hand. "I'm sorry I've been hateful."

"It's okay, baby." Callie said, kissing the back of her hand.

Putting the car back in drive, Callie headed towards their destination. Reaching for Arizona's hand, she never broke the contact the rest of the way to Tacoma. The closer they got to the destination Arizona put her scarf back over her face, not wanting to ruin Callie's surprise for her, even after Callie insisted that she didn't have to.

"Okay, we're here." Callie said, getting out of the jeep and rounding to Arizona's side. "You still feeling okay?" She asked, taking the blondes hand.

"So, so." She said, sliding out of the jeep with her fiancés guidance. "What's the smell?" She asked, crinkling her nose. "What is that noise.. Is that chickens?" She smiled.

Laughing, "Okay." She said, reaching behind Arizona's head and pulling the scarf off. "You can look now."

Blinking several times, her eyes taking time adjusting to the sunlight, she looked around the area, Seeing the name of the farm written above them, 'Perkers Poltry Farm'.

"Name really says it all huh." Arizona laughed.

"Yeah." Callie chuckled. "I'm sorry it has taken me almost two months to get you your chickens. You had mentioned something about them on your birthday so I promised myself I would get them for you today."

"Thank you." Arizona said placing a kiss on her cheek and wrapping her arms around the brunettes neck.

"You're welcome, come on. Let's go pick us some out."

Walking into the huge fenced in area that housed ten Silkie chickens, Arizona knelt down in the middle of them. "Oooh.." She groaned, grabbing the back of Callie's pant leg for support.

"You okay?"

"Yeah." she gave her a half smile trying her best to put on a smile for Callie, even though she really didn't feel like smiling. "My goodness, Calliope. Look how cute they are." She said, reaching out to pet a gray chicken, but it quickly moved before the blonde got too close. "They look so unreal." She laughed.

"They look so funny." Callie said kneeling beside her fiancé. "Which ones you want?" she asked, holding a hand full of food out, hoping to get some chickens to come near.

"I don… oh hey little one." Arizona said. A yellow silkie had come up and pecked at her shoe string. "I think I want this one for sure." she said, petting the bird on its head. "She likes me."

"How about these two also?" Callie asked, as two grey looking chickens began to feed out of her hand. Most chickens didn't take up to people, especially new people. "They don't seem spooked with us here."

"Three?"

"Yep."

"Okay. What are we going to call them?" Arizona asked, looking over to her fiancé. "Oh.. no wait.. We need one more.. Please?" she asked, thinking of the perfect names. "I have the perfect names for them but we need one more or we can't use them." she said, looking over to the brunette with her puppy dog eyes.

"One more." she gave in. She could never tell Arizona no when she looked at her like that. Damn here and those eyes. She would definitely be screwed when they had kids, especially if they had Arizona's eyes and dimples. Damn those dimples too.

"Yey. You are the best." she said clapping her ands quietly. "I want that off white one over there too." she said pointing at the bird in the corner.

"So.. tell me their names now?" Callie said, while the worker gathered up their new purchase.

"The Yellow one is Blanche." She laughed. Walking back to the main office of the farm, and paying for the chickens.

"Well.. I can guess the other names, can't I?" Callie said, when they were walking back to the car.

"Probably." she smiled. "The white one is Rose and the two gray ones are Dorothy and Sophia." she chuckled, laying her head on Callie's shoulders at they waited for their chickens to be brought to their jeep.

"You're such a moron." Callie laughed. "And you say I'm obsessed with that show."

"Thank you for today, Callie." She said softly.

"You're welcome." She said, placing a kiss on her head. "You're hurting again, huh?" Callie asked, wrapping her arms around her fiancé. She heard the hint of pain in her voice.

"Yeah."

"Here." Callie said, opening the door. "Get in and lay back, honey." she said guiding Arizona into the jeep.

"I feel so weak right now." she said, laying back in the seat. If she was being honest with herself and Callie, she was really in no shape to be anywhere but home in bed.

"I'll go see if they can hurry so I can get you home, okay?" she said placing a kiss on the blondes forehead. "You're hot honey."

"Miss Torres." Fred said, carrying the chickens to the back of the jeep. "Here they are, I've also put the food bag inside too." he said, as Callie opened the back door for him.

"Thanks Fred. Pleasure doing business with ya." She said, shaking the mans hand.

"Thank you." he said walking way as Callie climbed into the jeep.

Driving home down the winding road. Callie stole several glances of the sleeping blonde curled up in the seat next to her with her head laying against the window. She had never seen Arizona look so sick. Even after her surgery months ago, she didn't act this bad which made her nervous. It was never easy seeing someone you cared so much about in pain. Stopping by the pharmacy in town on their way back, Callie ran inside to get her some Tylenol along with some Gatorade to try to get her temperature down and hopefully ease her pain. Getting back in the vehicle, she noticed her fiancé hadn't budged an inch since she left five minutes prior. Navigating the jeep down the streets of Seattle, Callie finally pulled into their driveway. Thankfull because Karev's newly purchased car was parked there also, meant that he was working around the house. Placing the chickens out by the front door of the garage she seen Alex inside working on something.

"Hey, Karev." Callie said, lifting the door. "Can you put these chickens out in the coop?"

"Yeah. Something wrong?" he asked, seeing a worried look on Callie's face.

"No, I'd do it, but Arizona's asleep in the car and I need to get her upstairs to bed. She's not been feeling well."

"No problem, I'll do it. They have food? I'll go ahead and feed them while I'm at it." he said putting his drill down.

"Yep, in the box. You're a good man Alex, Thanks." she said, exiting the building and heading back to the jeep.

"Honey." Callie said, slowly opening the door. "We're home." She said, seeing Arizona lift her head.

"That was fast." she yawned.

"You've been asleep over an hour." She said, helping Arizona out of the jeep. Walking beside her up the walk way, she wrapped her arm around her for support. "Why don't you let me take you to the doctor baby."

"No. I just want to lay down for a little while. I'll be okay." She said, walking into the house and pulling of her jacket. "I'm going to go lay down for a bit, what time are Mama and Addie coming over?"

"Around five or so. Are you hungry? I'll make you some soup."

"No, I'm really not hungry."

"Arizona, you haven't ate since lunch yesterday, you need to eat." Callie rebuttaled, walking into the kitchen.

"I will this evening." Arizona said, walking up the stairs. "Callie?" She said, from the too step.

"Yeah?"

"Will you.. will you come and hold me?"

Sighing, "Yeah, I'll be up in a minute baby." Now she knew Arizona really didn't feel good, because the blonde didn't liked to be coddled when she was sick unless it was bad.

Noticing the darkening clouds outside their house, Callie ran outside to let the dogs back in before the rain hit. Opening the gate to the dog pin, both dogs dashed out to stretch their legs, ending up on the trial of the chickens in the coop where Alex was. Charlie and River went nuts when they spotted the furry birds inside the fence. Whistling for the dogs, Callie opened the French doors to the house in hopes of the dogs to follow. She was in no mood to deal with the wet mutts this afternoon.

Pouring a glass of the Gatorade she opened the bottle of Tylenol she just purchased and took two tablets out, just as the pups came trotting into the house. Closing the back door, she made her way upstairs to her bedroom. "Come on guys, lets go check on mama. She's not feeling good." She said walking down the hall into their room.

Opening the door, she seen Arizona huddled under the blanket. sitting the drink and tablets down she got the thermometer from the bathroom cabinet and pressed it to Arizona's temple. "I brought you up something for your fever honey." She said, hearing the thermometer beep, signaling a reading. "Can you set up for me and take it?"

"What's it say?" She said, leaning up and taking the tablets with a drink of grade beverage.

"101.5 Where are you hurting exactly baby?"

"Down here." She said cupping the pouch of her stomach below her belly button.

"All over?" She asked seeing Arizona rub her belly.

"Yeah."

"Hmm.. Just sounds like normal cramping."

"It's more than normal. I've never hurt this bad."

"I'm sorry baby, hopefully pills will help." Callie said standing from the bed and walking into the in suite bathroom and putting the thermometer back in the cabinet and pulling out a washcloth. Dampening the cloth in cold water, she went back into the room and climbed on the bed beside her fiancé. "Come here, baby." She said as Arizona rolled over to face her when she felt the bed shift. "You sure you don't want to go to the doctor, you're starting to worry me, Arizona."

"No. I just need you to hold me." she mumbled tiredly. "If it gets worse, I promise I'll go."

"Okay, try to get some sleep, my love." She said, blotting Arizona's forehead with the damp cloth while soothing words to her blonde as she tried to fall back to sleep in her arms.

A ringing from her cellphone in her pocket stirred Callie from her nap two hours later. Reaching in her pocket, she pulled out the buzzing device. Slowly, crawling out from under her fiancés, she walked out into the hall not to disturb Arizona answering the phone. "Hello."

"Hey, Cal. Are you guys excited as I am?" Addison said, to chipper.

"Yeah, Arizona and I have been looking forward to this for a while, Barbara should be here any minute." She said just as the doorbell rang. "Oh, that's her now."

"Okay, I'm going to stop and pick up dinner on my way. The usual?" The red head asked. When they had nights in together they would always order Chinese.

"Sounds good, Addie. I'll see you soon."

"Bye Cal."

Walking back to the bed, "Arizona?" Callie said, sitting on the edge next to her. "Arizona."

"Hmm.."

"Your moms here and Addie's on her way. Can you get up for me?" She asked, caressing the blondes side.

"Yeah, I'll be down in a minute." She said, stretching her body.

"How you feeling? Your temp feels like it's slightly down."

"Not as bad as earlier, but still hurts." Arizona said, sitting up in bed. "I'm going to use the restroom, then I'll be down."

"Kay." Callie said, going downstairs and answering the door to let her future mother-in-law in their home.

"Hey."

"Hi, dear. How are you." She said, hugging Callie.

"I'm okay. Arizona though. She's worrying me mom." She said shutting the door.

"Where is she?" Barbara questioned looking around.

"She's upstairs. She said she'd be done in a few." Callie said walking into the kitchen, getting wine glasses down from the rack.

"Why is she worrying you?" Barb asked, taking a seat at the island.

"She isn't feeling well. And you know Arizona, nothing keeps her down. Even when she had surgery. All she's done since yesterday is lay around and sleep." She said, popping the cork on the wine.

"That doesn't sound like her."

"I know." Callie said, filling the glasses.

"Hello?" Addison said, peeking her head in the room. "I come bearing dinner." She said seeing. filled wine glasses. "You better not be drinking without me.

"Nope.. Just in time." Callie said, lifting her glass up towards Addison before taking a large drink.

"Where's your better half?"

"Upstairs still I guess, she's not feeling too well. I'll go check on her."

"No, I'll run up and get her." Barbara said, leaving the room to find her daughter. Walking down the hallway to her daughters bedroom, she heard a faint cry.

"Zona, honey?" She said opening the door. Seeing her daughter curled up on the bed crying. "What's wrong sweetheart."

"It hurts so bad mama." She cried.

"Where honey? Show me." She said, sitting on the bed next to her daughter and brushing the blonde hair out of her face.

"Here." She said holding both sides in her lower stomach. "It's like terrible cramps" she whimpered.

"Has it ever hurt like that before?"

Shaking her head, "No. Nothing out of the normal." She said in tears.

"I'm going to go get Callie. I think you should go get checked out honey." Barbara said, leaving the room.

"Callie?" Barbara called from the top of the stairs.

Hearing Barbra call for her, Callie quickly ran to the stairs, "Yeah?"

"It's Arizona." At those words, Callie quickly dashed up the steps. "I really think she needs to go get checked out." She said as they entered the room.

"Arizona, baby." She said, seeing Arizona on the bed holding her stomach, crying.

"It.. hu.. hurts Calliope." She cried.

Picking her fiancés upper body up off the bed Callie cradled her in her arms. "I know baby... I know." Kissing her on the forehead.

"Can you get Addison for me?" She asked Barbara.

Nodding her head, Barbara quickly descended the stairs to get Addison to check on her daughter. Barbara knew if Arizona was crying something was really wrong with her baby girl.

"Shh.. It's okay, honey. I'm going to have Addison check you out. Okay?" Callie said, rocking the crying blonde.

"What's going on?" Addison said, rushing in the room with Barbara on her heels.

"She's cramping really bad, Addie. She's been on her period for a week now, she's never went that long before. She said the pain got worse in the past two days." Callie said with Arizona still crying in her arms. "She was feeling weak and had a fever earlier."

"Lay her down, let me examine her." Addison said walking up to the bed. Pulling Arizona's shirt up, she palpated her stomach.

"Oww.. Please stop." Arizona cried. Callie laid on the bed close to her and whispered loving words as Addison tried to help her fiancé.

"Arizona, it's me, it's Addie. I need to feel around okay?" Addison said. Seeing the blondes head nod, she felt Arizona's lower abdomen again.

"Cal-liope?" She said.

"I'm right here honey." Callie whispered in her ear. Reaching for her hand she laced them together so Arizona would feel connected.

"I'm not sure, but I think there is a type of mass on her right ovary." Addison said, pulling Arizona's shirt back down. "I'd have to do a blood test and a ultra sound to find out what's going on. Let's get her to the hospital and I'll do a few tests and we'll go from there."

"Mom, can you drive us?" Callie asked Barbara whom was standing by the head of her daughters side of the bed.

"Yeah. I just need to call Daniel and let him know. I'll be waiting downstairs." She said, patting her daughters leg.

"I'm going to call the hospital, and get a room set up." Addison said, walking out of the room.

"Arizona baby. Do you want to change before we go?" Callie asked, helping the blonde sit up.

"Can you find me my sweatpants?" She said wiping her nose. "And a T-shirt?" She sniffed, sitting on the edge of the bed, wearing only a old tee and her boy shorts underwear.

"Sure thing baby." She said jumping off the bed and going through their dresser for Arizona a change of clothes. Finding her old college sweats and a tee, Callie helped the blonde stand on her wobbly legs and into pants and shirt. There was something about Arizona wearing her clothes that was so heartwarming to the brunette.

Arizona sat back down on the bed, while Callie got dressed in more comfy clothes. If she was going to be at the hospital all evening she wanted to be comfortable too. "Wrap your arms around my neck" Callie said, bending down and sliding her arms under Arizona's body.

"Cal.. Callie no. You can't carry my. I'm too heavy." She whined, holding tight around her fiancés neck. "I'm just as big as you are."

"Ah, no you're not. Do you trusted me?"

"Completely." She said, wiping a tear off her cheek with Callie's shirt.

"As much as I want too, I can't take away your pain, so let me do this." Callie said. Walking downstairs with Arizona in her arms. Callie heads straight for the front door. "Where's Barbara?" She asked, Addison whom was walking up behind her.

"She's out in the jeep waiting." Addison said, locking up the house behind Callie. "I'll meet you there." She said, helping Callie put Arizona on the jeep.

"Callie..."

"Yeah, baby?" She said, holding Arizona in her arms in the back seat of her jeep as Barbara navigated it down out of their street.

"It.. hurts." She cried.

"Aww.. I know sweetie." She said, trying to sooth her fiancé.

"I'm scared." She said, with tears running down her face.

"You're going to be fine honey." Callie tried to reassure her.

"But what if... I'm not, you heard.. Addie. What if something's... wrong with me?" She said, trying her best to keep her bottom lip from quivering. "She said, she felt a mass... what if I..." She stopped, her cries coming harder.

"What if what, Arizona?" Callie asked, pressing the blondes head to her chest as she cried."What if.. I can't have you a baby. You wanted that." She cried into Callie's shoulder. "What if I can't give you what you want."

"Oh, Arizona, no. You're what I want, baby." Callie whispered, seeing Arizona so upset only upset Callie and now she had tears streaming her own cheeks. "As long as I have you, nothing else matters. Everything's going to be fine. You hear me."

"Zona, honey. Callie's right, you're going to be fine. And if something were to happen, maybe Addison could freeze some of your eggs and then maybe Callie could carry the baby when you are ready. People do that all the time." Barbara said, pulling into the hospital parking lot, seeing Addison waiting by the door with a wheel chair.

"Your moms right sweetheart. If something were to happen, which I'm sure it's not. I'd be more than happy to carry your baby. It would be connected to both of us." She said, kissing her fiancés head. "You're going to be alright baby. I know it, okay?"

Nodding her head in Callie's chest. "Okay." She said quietly, trying to stop her tears. "Okay.

Pulling up to the curb, Addison opened the door for the couple. "Okay, Arizona. I've got a room set up, let's take you in and see what's going on in there, sweetie." She said, helping the blonde out of the vehicle and seating her in the wheel chair.

"Calliope." She whimpered, wrapping her arm around her stomach.

"I'm here.." She said jumping out of the jeep. "I'm right here baby." She said, walking up beside her and grabbing her hand.

"Come up to maternity 5th floor, room 5040." Addison told Barbara before shutting the door of the jeep so the gray haired woman could park.

Pushing Arizona down the corridors of the hospital, Addison rounded the corner to the elevators, quickly catching the box cart. Walking into the room she had set up for her blonde friend on her ward, she helped Callie sit her up on the bed. "You know, Arizona. If you didn't want to plan the wedding all you had to do was say it. Instead of going through all this."

Giving Addison a glare, "Too soon?" The red head quipped, laughing. She was trying to lighten the mood for her friends, seeing a terrified look on both their faces. "Oookay. I'm going to draw your blood first, then we'll go from there." Addison said, putting on her gloves and getting the test ready. Wrapping the tourniquet around the blondes lower bicep, she searched for a puffy vein. Sticking the blonde with the needle, "What's your pain scale?"

"Right now it's about an eight to eight and a half. But when mama came in the bedroom it was a ten." She said, as Callie held her hand and rubbed her head.

"I'm going to send this off to the lab, and change into some scrubs, I'll be back in just a minute." Addison said, taking the sample with her.

"Thanks, Addie." Callie said to her friend as she was walking out. Focusing on her fiancé that laid out before her on the hospital bed, she repeatedly kept combing her fingers through blonde hair. "How you doing, sweetheart?"

"I'm.." Sighing. "I just want it to stop hurting, Calliope."

"I know." Callie said, sitting on the stool beside Arizona's bed. "Me too. I wish I old trade places with you." She said, leaning her forehead on Arizona's cheek. "Addie will give you something soon, baby. She just needs to figure out what to treat you for first." Seeing Arizona in this much pain, killed Callie. She couldn't bare to see her fiancé like this.

"I'm scared, Callie." She voiced. So much has happened in her life that she knew nothing was ever off the table in her life. "What if I'm really sick.."

"No." She shot back, cutting her off. "No what ifs, Arizona." Callie said, not knowing Barbara was hanging by door outside the room, she had stopped when she heard the girls talking. "Do you hear me." She said, wiping the tears from her eyes. "I'm scared too, but you're going to be fine. And if by chance something is wrong, we'll deal with it. I'm not going to lose you, I can't. Not when I just found you. We're suppose to grow old together. God!" She said, cupping Arizona's cheeks, making the blonde look at her. "How would I live without, I can barely breath without you when you're gone to the store or you're out with Teddy having drinks or just out spending the day together.. I can't even fathom how would I survive without you. So please, Arizona, no what ifs. Okay?" She said, burting her head into her fiancés neck. Callie hadn't been that worried, but hearing Arizona voice her concern, had Callie thinking of what it would be like if something were to happen to her fiancé. She knew she would die right along with her.

"I'm sorry, Calliope. I don't mean to upset you, baby." She said, hugging her neck. "I'm sorry. I won't say it again." She said placing a kiss on dark hair.

"I'm sorry.. I should be stronger than this for you, but your what ifs scare me, Arizona." She mumbled into her neck. "It's just.. we should have been spending this day at home. Sitting outside relaxin and enjoying your new chickens.. and now we're here, worrying. I'm sorry." Callie said, pulling her close. "I love you."

"I love you too."

Listening by the door, Barbara's heart broke for the girls. They had been through so much in the last few months than most couples dont go through in a lifetime and she could only pray that things would get better for them.

"I'm about to do an ultrasound to see what's going on." Addison said walking up to her. "Come on."

"Okay.."

"Mama."

"I'm here, dear." She said walking up to the other side of the bed.

"Okay, ladies. Let's see what's going on with you, Arizona." Addison said, pulling the machine closer to her friend. "This is going to be a little cool." She said shaking the bottle of jell.

"Yeah right. Why can't you doctors just say this is going to be ice cold." Arizona groaned.

"Okay Miss cranky. This is going to be blue cold." The red head laughed.

Arizona felt Addison raise up the her shirt and squirt the jell on her stomach, moving the wand around, smearing the jell and looking for any abnormalities. The whole time, Callie kept peppering kisses all over her face which she appreciated so much.

Holding Arizona's hand, Callie tried to make out images on the screen when Addison moved the monitor more towards them, but she was moving around too much for her to see what she was looking at clearly.

"Okay, I think I see the problem here." She said a few moments later. Moving the screen into a better view, "You see here." She said pointing to the screen with her pinky. "You have a ruptured cyst. That's what is causing your bleeding and pain."

"What does that mean?" Barbara asked, with her arm draped around her daughters head.

"It means, she's fine. Ovarian cysts aren't uncommon. Most women have them at some point in their life, most go undetected. But some do cause pain like Arizona's. I'm going to give you a shot of pain medicine and a prescription that should take care of your pain."

"Are you sure?" Callie asked.

"Ninety-nine percent. But the blood test will confirm." She smiled. Wiping the jell of Arizona's stomach. Walking over to the cabinet and filling the syringe with medicine. "This should stop your pain until you can get to the pharmacy in the morning." She said, walking up to the bed. "So show me that fine ass Callie's always prattling on and on about." She the red head said, wiggling her eyebrows at Arizona.

"See, Zona. I told you about that fine behind." Barbara winked at her daughter, causing Callie to bust out laughing. Remembering back when Barbara was doped up on medication and bragging about her fiancés ass.

Rolling on her side and pulling her sweats down, Addison stuck her with the needle injecting the pain meds in her hip. "I want you to stick around here for a few minutes until the pain starts to wear off okay?" The Doctor said, sitting on the other stool.

"Lay with me?" Arizona asked, looking over to Callie whom looked relieved.

"Always." She said, laying on the edge of the bed with her fiancé wrapping her up in her arms, both melting into each other."s embrace. "See baby, I told you you'd be fine sweetie." she said, kissing her tear stained cheek.

"What's wrong mama?" Arizona said, looking at her mother when she heard a sniff coming from her direction grabbing her hand and laying a soft kiss on the aged skin. "I'm going to be fine." She told her already feeling the pain easing slightly.

"I know, bug." She said. "It's just... you and Callie remind me so much of your father and I when we first got married." She said softly smiling at her daughter.

"You mean.. I'm going to throw a plate of spaghetti at Callie and break every flowered dish we have?" She teased, it was the only thing she could think of to say before she started to cry again. For her relationship to remind her mother of her and her fathers relationship made her proud. She could only hope that her and Callie would turn out like her parents. They were her aspiring couple.

Barbara's jaw dropping at her daughters statement, she had never told anyone that story. "I.. how did.. I'm going to kill that man."

"Please don't Mama." She laughed lightly. "I'd like it if you'd at least wait until after the wedding."

"Don't encourage her." Callie said, hugging her fiancé.

"Addie?" Arizona said, getting the red headed woman's attention from the chart she was focused ok filling out.

"Yeah?" She said, looking up from the chart, with the cap of the pen in between her red lips.

"Can I please go home now."

"Pain level?" She asked raising her eyebrow.

"Six and a half.. Seven."

"And it was at an eight when we started?"

"Or more yes."

"Let me go see if the blood test is back and then I'll let you know." She winked before leaving the room.

"I'm going to call your father and let him know that you're okay." She said leaving the room.

"You really feeling better baby?" Callie asked, brushing blonde hair back.

"Yeah, it's eased up some. I hope by the time we get home it's about gone. Hell right now I'd be okay with a pain level of five."

"Look what I have." Addison said, waving a piece of paper in her hand. "An intern was just coming off the elevator to deliver it." She said looking it over.

"Well?"

"Take her home Cal. She's fine." She said, patting her friends leg. "Make sure you fill her script in the morning. And get some rest. I'll call and check on you in the morning." Addison said, collecting the chart.

"Addie?" Arizona said sitting up in the bed, as Callie stood up.

"Yeah?"

"Could you come over tomorrow? I'd still really like to talk about the wedding."

Smiling, "I'll be there at noon."

"Mama?"

"Sure thing sweetie." She said, leaning on the door frame.

Nodding her head. "Take me home?" She asked Callie.

"You got it babe." She said, taking her hand and leading her out of the hospital slowly.

Tucking her fiancé in the bed, thirty minutes later Callie pulled off her shoes and went to wash the day off her tired face. Walking back into the bedroom after her daily scrub, she sat down beside her fiancé. "Ahh... I've been waiting for this feeling all day." She sighed, relaxing her body.

"I'm sorry I ruined your day you had planned."

"What? You didn't. The only thing that would have ruined it was if something happened to you, my beautiful lady."

"I'm sorry I scared you at the hospital." Arizona said, cupping a caramel cheek.

"It's okay." She said kissing the blondes palm. "Get some rest love." She said kissing her cheek.

"Thank you for loving me so much. I've never had anyone care so much about me." She smiled softly. "And thank you for my funny looking chickens." She laughed.

"You're welcome."

"Calliope?" She said, when Callie moved to stand up.

"Hmm..."

"I know it's late and all and you've been taking such good care of me and I so thinkful for you being here.. and you're are probably just as exhausted as I am... but.. can you.. make me some soup?" She asked, hopeful. She hated to ask that of her fiancé, but now that the pain has died down quiet a bit, her hunger finally came and all she could think of was Callie's homemade soup.

Sighing, relieved that Arizona was up to eat something. "Mi Amore." She said, caressing Arizona's jaw. "I'll do anything for you." She said planting a soft kiss on her forehead before getting off the bed.

"And... Calliope?"

"Yeah?" She she laughed, from the door way of their bedroom.

"I love you."

Relaxing her shoulders, she smiled at her girl before walking back up to the side of the bed. "I love you too, my sweetie." She said planting a soft kiss on pink lips. "You have no idea how relieved I am that you're feeling better. Get some rest, I'll wake you when your soups ready." She said pecking her lips one last time before cooking Arizona some dinner.
