Chapter 42
Arizona saw the hesitance in Callie's eyes, looking at the messages again. "How long has this been going on, Callie?" She asked pushing the phone back to the brunettes hand. Seeing Callie just staring at her like a deer in headlights, like she has something to hide. "Answer me?" She said louder, causing everyone to look at them.
"Arizona, please.." Callie said, looking around to Barbara and Daniel noticing their attention was now fixed on them. "Can we just go home and talk about this.."
"How long?" Arizona whispered angrily through gritted teeth. Seeing the fear in her fiancés eyes before her, she wondered why it was present if it was nothing. "Callie." She breathed, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. "Tell me, please?"
Sighing, "Since that night." She said, looking down to the ground.
Nodding her head, Arizona looked up at Callie with a watery eyes. Biting her bottom lip to keep in the tears, she shook her head before turning around and walking off down the street.
"Arizona?" Callie said, reaching for her arm, but the blonde was too fast. "Where are you going?"
Hearing the pleading in her fiancés voice, Arizona stopped. She hated feeling like this, but what was she suppose to do, she knew Callie was hiding something. "I don't know.." She said, turning to meet Callie's eyes.
"Please..." She begged, with tears in her eyes. "Don't leave me, Arizona."
"I'm not leaving you, Calliope. I'm just.." She sighed. "I'm mad, Callie."
Walking up to the blonde, "I know.. and you have ever right to be and you can be mad at me all day if you want." She said, grabbing Arizona's hand. "But please don't.. don't go alone." Cupping Arizona's cheek with her right hand. "Please.. can we just go home?"
Arizona was torn, she knew that Callie's dream this morning was still affecting her and she didn't want to cause her worry, but she was mad and just wanted to be left alone right now. So she went to the one person that would leave her alone in her thoughts and not bug her, "Okay." Arizona whispered, taking Callie's hand away from her face. Walking past her fiancé. "Can you take me home dad?" She asked her father as she stopped beside him.
"Sure bug." He said, giving Callie a soft smile and winking at her.
Watching Arizona walk to Daniels truck, Callie followed her. "No, Arizona. Don't walk away from this. You promised me you wouldn't walk away from a fight."
"I'm not walking away from a fight Callie. I don't have no fight in me for Erica Hahn. It's none of my business what you talk to Hahn about. I'm sorry I grabbed your phone and read your messages." She said, getting in the old pickup truck. "I'll see you at home."
"It is your business... you're my fiancé."
"Yeah, well.. you trying to grab the phone out of my hand when I was reading the text tells me other wise." Arizona said, closing the door but not before Callie tossed her phone on Arizona's lap to prove she had nothing to hide.
"You're doing exactly what she wants, Arizona. She's trying to come between us and right now she's succeeding." Callie said, finally turning away from the truck. Wiping the tears out of her eyes, she walked back towards Barbara and Daniel who were looking away from the couple.
"Just give her some time to cool off, honey." Daniel said to her when she walked up to them. Only nodding her head, she got into the passenger side of Barbara's SUV. Seeing Barbara and Daniel exchange a few words before sharing a goodby and getting into their own vehicles.
"You alright dear?" Barbara asked, patting Callie's leg.
"No. Everything in my life is always a disaster. I don't want things with Arizona to be a disaster. I don't even want to move or breathe, I don't want to do nothing. I always mess things up and I don't want to mess this up." She sobbed, throwing her head in her hands.
"Awe, honey. You're not going to mess anything up. Arizona loves you. She's not going anywhere just because of a silly argument." Barbara tried to comfort the brunette. "What happened out there? One minute you were in each other's arms and the next you were fighting."
"You remember us telling you about Erica?" She asked, trying to control her tears.
"Yeah?"
"Well she at it again, she has texted me several times since everything happened Monday and she just texted me again when Arizona had my phone." She sighed. "She saw it, and got mad at me."
"What had you and Erica been talking about?"
"Nothing. I never replied, I just ignored her texts." She said, taking the offered tissue from Barbara. "I should have told Arizona, but I just thought if I ignored her she would stop."
"And she still persisted?"
"Yes, she sent a text a few minutes ago saying she would be waiting on me at Joes."
"Sounds to me that she sent that hoping Arizona would see it."
"Well she succeeded," Callie scoffed. "I don't know what to do mom. What more can I say to get her to leave me alone.. to leave us alone? I tried to be nice, but then I had to be rude.. nothing works. Every time Erica is around she turns my life upside down, it's like she sets out to ruin me."
"Some people will stoop to anything to try to get what they want Callie." She said rubbing the upset woman on the back trying to sooth her. "All I can say is you need to be the better person when it comes to Erica. Don't let her know that she upsets you, maybe she thinks if she does it enough you'll conceded. You have a huge heart Callie and to me it sounds like she's playing on it. Let her know you're not going to stoop to her level. Let her know you're not going to lower your standards to raise hers."
"So kill her with kindness?" Callie said looking up for the first time in minutes, noticing that Daniel and Arizona were gone.
"Kill her with kindness." She said, giving Callie a hug.
"Will you.. wait a few minutes while I run over there?" Callie asked, pointing over at a store across the street. "It's one thing that should at least help this situation."
"Sure, I'll go with you." Barbara said, getting out of the SUV and walking across the busy street with her future daughter-in-law by her side.
Halfway across town, Daniel sat beside his daughter in his truck waiting patiently for her to open up. He knew she had asked him to take her home so she wouldn't have to talk about what just happened, but lately he felt Arizona had began to open up to him more and asked for his advice on a lot of things, especially when It came to her relationship with Callie, something she had never done with any other partner before. "You know I'm not usually one to bother you when you're lost in you thoughts.. But are you going to sit there and stew or do I have to keep driving around till you want to talk about it?" Daniel asked his daughter on the drive back to her house.
"There is nothing to talk about daddy." Arizona said, looking out her window.
"Awe sure there is, you're upset, Callie's upset and crying. I'm taking you home.. which I don't mind. It kind of reminds me of old times, picking you up from high school ball games or a friends house." He said, patting his daughters knee.
"Yeah, it kinda feels like that." Arizona let out a small laugh, placing her hand on top of her dads which still sitting on her knee. "I miss hanging out with you, Daddy. Maybe one day soon we could hang out? We could go fishing or something?"
"You don't like fishing, bug." He said, knowing Arizona was just trying to change the subject.
"It's true, but I love the guy that loves fishing." She smiled at him.
"How about one day, I take you and Callie out on the boat and we'll make a nice day out of it? You're mama could even join if she wants."
"Yeah, that sounds fun. We've not done anything like that in forever. Calliope would love that."
"So tell me. What's got your panties in a wod?"
"Daddy!" She exclaimed, swatting at his arm.
"What?" He laughed. "Isn't that what you younger kids say these days?"
"Maybe if we were still in junior high." She laughed, feeling Callie's phone in her lap vibrate. Sighing, "I'm sure mama told you about our little run in with one of Callie's old co-workers?" She said, looking over at her father. "And her confessing her love for my fiancé."
"She mentioned it."
"Well, she had been texting Callie even after our scuffle Monday night and she was hiding from me. I'm upset because she's still trying to get in contact with her. But I kind of don't blame her, Calliopes is a lot to loose. It just hurts my feelings that Callie felt the need to hide it from me. From the beginning, we promised not to hide things from each other and she was hiding that."
"Why would she feel the need to hide it from you?" He asked, pulling into his daughters driveway.
"I don't know?"
"You sure about that?"
"Ye.. No. I don't know.." She replied. "I guess because she didn't want this to happen." She said, looking down at her engagement ring on her left hand. "I guess she knew I'd be pissed if I found out Erica was still hounding her." She shrugged, "But because she hide it.. It still happened."
"Sounds like Callie was only trying to protect you."
"Protecting me from what though, daddy? I should be the one protecting her from people like Hahn." She said, looking out towards the front of her house.
"Protecting you from getting hurt by Erica."
"Erica can't and won't hurt me." She said, resting her head back on the headrest.
"But she already did. You're here with me and you left Callie crying with your mother. She hurt you, but she hurt Callie the most."
"How?" She scoffed.
"Because she is why you are mad at Callie. You did exactly what Erica wanted and exactly what Callie was trying to avoid."
"You're saying I fell right into her trap, huh?" She said, feeling Callie's phone vibrate again. Picking it up ready to give Erica a piece of her mind, but she threw it in her purse when saw that it was only Cristina texting her.
"Yeah, she knows Callie's a loving, caring, compassionate person Arizona, just like you and sometimes that means people tend to walk all over you."
"What do we do daddy? How do we get her to stop?"
"There is really nothing you can do bug, except don't give her the time of day." He shrugged. "Brush her off.. show her that it doesn't affect you as a couple, once she knows nothing's going to change.. She'll eventually give up."
"That's hard to do, she's pretty persistent."
"I know it's hard to turn the other cheek honey, but what's harder? That or fighting with Callie?"
"It pains me inside when we fight." She sighed, leaning her head on her fathers shoulder.
"Who knows, you may never see her again. Didn't Addison say that she disappeared at work again?"
"Yeah, but she texted Callie that she'll be waiting for her at Joes."
"Maybe she didn't text it for Callie. Maybe she texted it in hopes of you seeing it. Maybe.. she hoped you would get into a fight about it and Callie would go to Joes and she could swoop in an comfort her after your fight? You got to think like her honey. She's pulling all the stops.. but just because she texted Callie about meeting her at Joes doesn't really prove she's still in town either."
Shrugging, "A lot of maybes." She said, seeing her moms black SUV pull up beside them. Letting out a huge breath that she didn't realize she was holding, "I guess I should.." She pointed towards her mom.
"Yeah.. I'll talk to you soon honey." Daniel said, hugging his daughter.
"Thanks Daddy." She whispered in the embrace. "I love you."
"I love you too, bug."
"We still on for fishing sometime?" She smiled at him after she got out of the truck.
"You bet. Just you and I.. or if you want we can invite the other women in our life." He winked at her before she shut the door.
Looking at the SUV she saw her mother and Callie in a conversation. Her fiancé nodding and wiping her eyes with a tissue, never looking up. Taking a deep breath, Arizona walked over to the passenger side of the car. Meeting her mothers eyes, she gave her a soft smile before opening her lovers door. Stepping closer she laid her hand on Callie's lap only causing fresh tears to streak down her fiancés face. Wrapping her arms around the Latina, Arizona pulled her close, resting the brunettes head on her shoulder, she gave her a hug. "Come on, baby." She said, guiding Callie out of the car.
Watching Arizona's hand lay on her thigh, only brought out new tears in Callie's eyes, trying her best to hold them in, Arizona wrapped her arms around her and as she buried her head into the blondes neck and cried. The brunette had a hard exterior most times but inside she always wore her heart on her sleeve. She couldn't stand the thoughts of someone being mad at her, and when that someone was Arizona the pain only tripled. "Come on, baby." She heard through her tears as she felt Arizona pull her out of the car.
"Thanks for today, Mama." The blonde gave a sad smile, shutting the door to her mothers SUV.
"I'm sorry." Callie sniffed, lifting her head off Arizona's shoulder and wiped her eyes dry.
"It's okay." She said, taking Callie's hand and walking to the front door of their home.
"It's not. I should have told you."
"Yeah, you should have." Arizona replied, opening the door and entering the home. Laying her keys and purse on the table next to the door, she went to the kitchen and out the back door to let the dogs in. Coming back inside, she poured herself a glass of water and sat at the island drinking it as she scanned through the paper.
Sighing to herself as Arizona walked out of the room, Callie made her way upstairs to change into a tank top and shorts before retuning back downstairs and turning down the Air Conditioner some more. All she wanted to do was talk to Arizona about Erica, but seeing Arizona on the kitchen Callie decided it was best to let the blonde come to her when she was ready to talk. So she settled on the next best thing. Retrieving her favorite blanket out of the closet in the foyer, she snuggled up on the couch with the TV on low just to have enough sound to drown out her thoughts as she buried herself under the cover feeling sleep slowly take over her body.
Seeing it was already after 5 in the evening, Arizona wondered around in the kitchen, hoping to find something easy for dinner. Settling on some teriyaki chicken and rice with broccoli, one of Callie's favorite meals of hers. So she prepared the meat and added it to a marinade to soak up the flavor for a bit. Arizona was grateful that Callie gave her a little space when they got home, but now she was really missing her Latina and needed to feel some contact with her. Walking into the living room she noticed the TV on with the brunette snuggled up in the covers lightly snoring with the dogs sleeping beside their Mami on the floor. Leaning down on the back of the couch, she rested her head on the back cushion watching Callie sleep for a few minutes. Wanting to feel the comfiness, she climbed over the back of the sofa and wedged herself between the cushions and her fiancé.
"Wh.." Callie woke, feeling something push her. "What are you doing?" She mumbled.
"You looked comfy and I was jealous, let me inside." She said, pulling at the cover Callie had wrapped tightly around her. "Oh yes, it's as comfy as it looked." She sighed, hugging Callie close under the blanket.
Laying in Arizona's arms, Callie melted into her front, debating on whether or not to bring up what happened earlier but she decided to just go for it.
"I'm sorry." Arizona beat her to it.
"I'm sorry too." Callie said, her voice muffled by the cover. "You still made at me?" She asked after a couple of silent moments.
"Honey." she breathed as Callie buried her face in her chest. "It's not that I don't trust you or anythi... that's not why I'm mad.." She sighed. "I think.. that I'm more mad at the fact that Erica doesn't have a freaking clue. I really thought she got the hint Monday night. I'm not saying that I'm not upset at you for hiding the fact that she was still getting in contact with you... And I understand why you did it... I don't like it.. But I understand, or at least daddy helped me understand it." She said, resting her chin on the top of Callie's head.
"I didn't reply, Arizona. I just ignored her, hoping that she would get the hint. I was only protecting you from her callous ways. I would have told you if needed be. I didn't mean any harm, I'd never do that to you."
"I know that and it didn't matter to me if you did text her back, I trust you... but I'm suppose to protect you from people like her, Callie." She said kissing the brunettes forehead. "I think my dad was right, I think she sent you those texts hoping I would see them and get upset like I did. I fell for her game, and I apologize."
"Your mom said the same thing. I don't know what else I can do, Arizona. I've done and said mean things to her, things that I feel terrible for. I don't like treating people like that. Your mom said I shouldn't slump to her level and that's what we did Monday, but I won't do that anymore. If I have run-ins with her I will be nice and civil.."
"Turn the other cheek?"
"Yeah."
"Then that's what we'll do."
Nodding her head, "I went to the AT&T across from the bakery after you left with your dad and had my number changed. They're suppose to have it switched over by tomorrow. She has no way to get in contact with me now unless she just seeks me out which is entirely possible."
"You didn't have to do that."
"I did have too. It's the one thing I could control. She's not worth fighting with you Arizona. I don't like when you're upset with me."
"Okay... I know you don't like it.. I don't like it either."
She giggled when she heard a rumble come from Callie's stomach. Burying her head in Callie's neck, "You hungry, love?" She laughed.
"Yep." She chuckled.
"I thought you were so full from all that cake?" Arizona said, rubbing Callie's stomach.
"Food coma.. I slept it off. Plus sweets don't keep you full that long." Callie said, rolling on her back.
"Ahh.. Yes. You are becoming a Robbins more and more every day." Arizona laughed. "Daddy would be so proud." She said, rolling on top of Callie. "Kiss me, Calliope." She said, nudging the caramel nose in front of her.
Cupping Arizona's neck, Callie pulled her in for a slow, languid, passionate kiss. Deepening the touch when Arizona moaned in her mouth she sucked the pink lip in between her teeth, biting down softly. "I love you, Arizona.. with all my heart. Nothing will ever get in the way of that." She said, rubbing small circles with her thumb on the side of Arizona's cheek.
"I love you too, baby. So so much." She said pecking red lips several more times before Callie's stomach interrupted them again. "Come on." She giggled. "I've got dinner marinading." She said, getting off the couch and walking into the kitchen.
"Ooh.. you're the chef tonight?" Callie asked following behind her.
"Maybe..." She said, handing Callie a knife and the stalk of broccoli. "Cut that up for me please." She grinned.
"Oh.. You fixing Teriyaki chicken?"
"Mmhmm..." She said, placing the chicken in the sauce pan.
"I love your Chicken Teriyaki and rice." Callie said, cutting up the stalk.
"I know.." Arizona grinned. "Want a glass of wine?"
"Yes please." Callie said, watching Arizona move around their kitchen effortlessly, pouring two glasses of chilled red wine. It was times like this when Arizona wasn't trying at all that Callie couldn't resist her. Biting her lip, she sauntered behind Arizona kissing her on the side of the blondes neck. Before wrapping her arms around her waist. "Have I told you how pretty you are today?"
"Uhh.. No." Arizona swallowed.
"Well, you're very pretty today Arizona. And I'm so lucky to have you in my life." She said, sucking on her pulse point.
"Callie.." Arizona moaned, rolling her head to the left to give Callie more room.
"I had an amazing time today." She said, flicking the button open on Arizona's jeans. "We keep getting one..." unzipping Arizona's pants, "...step closer to our wedding every day." She purred, slipping her hands down Arizona's panties. "Mmm.. I love this.." She said, running her fingers through soft blonde curls.
"I.. uhh god.." The blonde moaned feeling Callie's fingers ghost over her nub. "I thought about getting rid of it..."
"Oh no... don't.. I love it.." She said, pulling the trimmed hair she found.
"Oh, Callie..."
"What do you want Arizona?" Callie asked slowly sliding her finger down to meet the blondes throbbing clit.
"Touch me... Just like that.. Oooh.." She gasped when Callie began to circle her clit. "How do you..." She breathed heavily. "..do it?"
"Do what baby?" She asked as she lightly caressed the blonde, bucking her hips into Arizona to curb her arousal that was seeping into her own panties.
"How do you..." She paused, trying to catch her breath. "Just one look from you.. one touch and I'm putty in your... hands." Arizona said, resting her head back on Callie's shoulders as she fingered her.
"What kind of look?" Callie husked.
Smelling the cooking chicken, Arizona's mind cleared from the sex filled haze Callie had her in. "The chicken Cal.. Callie.."
"What kind of look?" Callie asked again. Reaching behind her she turned off the burner before bringing her concentration back to her fiancé.
"It's just a look you give... like I'm the only person in the world." She rasped.
"Fast or slow baby?"
"Slow.. just like that." Arizona moaned, feeling Callie's fingers glide though her wet folds collecting wetness before circling her clit again. "Yes..." Arizona said, starting a rhythm with her hips, brushing her backside against Callie's front.
"You ARE the only person in the world as far as I'm concerned."
"Fuck..." Arizona whispered, cupping her own boob and pinching her nipple.
"Feels so good, doesn't it?" Callie moaned as Arizona grinded back on her center. "You make me feel like this all the time on the inside Arizona... But you know what I love most?"
"What?" She panted.
"How, I can get you dripping in just seconds. I love feeling how wet I make you. It turns me on to no end." She said pulling at the throbbing clit.
"Damn it.. Calliope.." She moaned, caressing both of her breasts.
"You like that?" Callie asked, kissing the nap of her neck.
"Yes... Oh fuck yes..." She said, trying to stabilize her breath.
"One day.." She said, sliding her fingers back down to her fiancés opening. "I will make you squirt Arizona.. Just like you make me.. even if it takes me all day making sweet tender love to you, I will lick up every drop you give me. I want you to have that amazing feeling of ecstasy.. It's probably one of the best feelings in the world.. your love not included that is.. Nothing will ever feel that good."
"Ohh..." Arizona moaned, buring her face in Callie's neck, panting heavily. "Oh god.." She breathed as Callie began to slowly pick up the pace on her. Bringing her teetering to the edge of her climax, soft gasping moans filled the air, "Shit.. Shit.. Faster, Calliope. I want to come. Make me come, baby." She whined. "I really really need to come."She said, reaching behind her and grabbing onto Callie's firm ass and pressing her fiancé into her.
"You want to come, Arizona?" Callie whispered pressing her front against the counter in front of her as she circled her fiancés clit faster and faster.
"Umhmm..." She breathed.
"Why should I let you?"
"Because I love you... I love you so much. And only you..." She said, reaching done in her panties and collecting wetness on her fingertips. "Can get me like this." She said, plunging her fingers in Callie's mouth. "So Please, Calliope... Let me come.. I need to come.. so bad." She cried out.
"Come Arizona.. Come all over my hand baby." Callie purred, throwing Arizona over the edge into pure bliss.
"Ohh... fu...ckkkk..." Arizona screamed, her climax shooting through her body as Callie talked. The only thing keeping her from falling limp to the hardwood floor was Callie's strong arm around her waist. "Oh god." She breathed, propping herself up against the counter with her arms.
"Fuck, that was hot." Callie said as Arizona turned around to look at her. Slipping her hands in her shorts, the brunette began circling her clit. She needed to feel just like Arizona felt. "Oh god."
Seeing Callie pleasure herself with the same hand she just pleasured her with, turned Arizona on all over again. Forcefully pushing Callie's hand away from her own center, She pushes her back against the counter, locking her in place. Slipping her hands down Callie's shorts she instantly met her heated center. "This is mine.. You understand?" Arizona said, cupping Callie's mound.
"Ye.. Yes.." Callie hissed as Arizona pinched her nub. "I'm gonna come Arizona."
Looking Callie in the eyes, full of love, lust, want and need. "You want to come?" She asked, circling her enlarged clit.
"Yea. Oh god. Yes." Callie cried, gasping for breath.
"You want to feel as good as I just did?" She asked, never breaking her gaze.
"Please.." She whimpered biting her bottom lip.
"Come, Calliope.. come for me." She said, crashing their lips together in a heated kiss. Swallowing Callie's moans and whimpers as she spiraled over the edge.
"That was fun." She laughed breathlessly into the brunettes neck as Callie began to come to her Senses.
"Umhmm.." Callie said, trying to slow her breathing. "Sounds like you really worked up the appetite." Callie laughed when she heard Arizona's stomach growl.
"Yeah." She smiled, leaning back. "I could say the same thing about you." She said, poking Callie in the stomach.
"I'm starving." The brunette said, wiping the sweat off her forehead.
"Me too.. But not for food." Arizona winked, walking over to the kitchen sink to wash her hands.
"You're insatiable." Callie laughed, washing her hands too.
"Only when it comes to you." Arizona leaned over and planted a kiss on her temple.
"Can you get the rice out of the pantry for me?" Arizona asked as her cell phone on the counter began to ring.
"Yep." Callie said, remembering her small purchase from earlier today. Walking to the pantry she pulled out the rice for Arizona and laid on the counter.
"Hello? Oh, hi Mama." she heard her fiancé greet her mother on the line as she walked into the foyer by the front door and retrieved the gift she purchased earlier when she was out with Barbara.
"No, everything is fine..." She said, holding the phone between her ear and shoulder so she could pull her pants back up around her waist and zipping them back up, throwing Callie smile in the process. "Callie's fine mom... She's right here. We're making dinner togeth... Yes we talked... Yes mom I did apologize... Yeah, so did she. Yep... Okay mama. Love you too.." Callie heard Arizona speak to her mother.
"Bye mom.." Callie said, leaning in so Barbara could hear her before planting a kiss on Arizona's cheek.
"She loves you too mama.. Okay. Bye." She said hanging up the phone.
"Checking up on us?" Callie asked.
"Yeah."
"I got you this earlier." Callie said, unwrapping the tissue paper from the single white rose. "Sorry I didn't give it to you earlier. I thought you just needed your space when we got home." She said handing the flower to her fiancé.
"Thank you." She grinned, taking the rose and smelling the sweet scent. "And thank you for giving me space. I know it must have been hard."
"It was extremely hard.. but I thought we both needed to cool off.."
"Yeah." She said placing the Rose in the vase next to the sink. "We're good aren't we?"
"Of course." Callie said leaning in for a kiss. "That is.. If you would finish this amazing dinner sometime tonight." She laughed, winking at the blonde before picking up her now warm glass of wine. "Because I really want to go upstairs or.. Maybe take a dip in the pool or hot tub and show you how good we are."
"Oh?"
"Mmhmm.."
"Suddenly I'm not so hungry anymore." Arizona said, dragging Callie out of the kitchen.
What do you guys think? Is Erica gone for good or is she sticking around for a while?
