Chapter 55

Mainly a filler chapter.

After their shower and a good rub down for Arizona, the girls called Ray and headed out for an afternoon of fun. Taking a cab, they went to grab a quick bite of lunch and then to the museum to see the ever famous Mona Lisa that Arizona couldn't stop raving about. Ray followed behind them just like he had for the past few days around the city. Both girls feeling more comfortable now that Mathis Hayman was off the streets and behind bars. After visiting the Mona Lisa and a few shops along the way, they returned back to the hotel to get fancied up for Callie's plans that evening. Getting instructions from her wife to dress a little more fancier, Arizona donned her black cocktail dress and cream heels that her wife bought for her a few months ago.

"I'm ready." Arizona said, walking down the loft stairs to greet her waiting wife, whom was wearing a cream knee length dress with black heels.

"Well don't you look lovely." Callie smiled, up at her wife from her place on the sofa.

"Thank you." She winked. "My wife told me to get all prettied up for her. Do you think she'll like it?" Arizona asked, twirling around for the brunette to see. They had came back to the room about an hour ago and the hotel staff had came while they were gone exploring and cleaned the mess Mathis had made in his wake.

"Oh yes." She nodded. "You think she'd mind if I kissed you?" She asked standing from her seat to greet her wife.

"Probably not." The blonde shrugged, leaning in to peck her wife's lips. "But then again..." She whispered. "..just in case, what she doesn't know won't hurt her." She finished, kissing Callie's pulse point on her neck before tracing her tongue over the spot.

"Stop that Mrs... 'You broke me.'" Callie said, rolling her head to the side, squeezing her wife's upper arm. She wanted to pull away, but she never had the strength to pull away from Arizona's lips much less her tongue. "If you keep that up, I'm going to break myself." She moaned.

"I just wanted a taste. You're like my big Lollipop." Arizona said, kissing her neck one more time as they heard a knock on the door. "Whose that?"

"Probably Ray." She said, walking to the door. "He texted me a few minutes ago and said he wanted to talk to us before we went out."

"What about? Should we not be going out?"

"I'm not sure, he didn't say. But I figure it's something to do with earlier, I think he may have talked to the police and got some more information." Callie shrugged, looking through the peephole. "Hey Ray." She greeted after letting the man in. "What's up? Did you find anything else out?" She asked, taking a seat back on the couch.

"Yeah, after I got back to my room I called the chief and he said that Mathis did a little talking when they took him in for questioning." He said, taking a seat across from the brunette sitting on the sofa.

"Well did he say how he found us?" Arizona asked, sitting down beside her wife. "I mean.." She shrugged. "We haven't seen him anywhere and then poof out of no where, he shows up at my door."

"I know.. I know Mrs. Robbins.." He sighed, scratching his head.

"Ray. I told you.."

"I know, I'm sorry, Mrs. Arizona. It's just." He said shaking his head. He felt so guilty that he let this happen to them. "It's my fault."

"Ray.. how is this your fault?" Callie asked him.

"I should have been more alert. I knew this guy was dangerous and I let him walk right fucking by me before I realized who he was."

"We all knew he could be dangerous Ray, you were here to protect us and that's what you did. Do you know what could have happened if you didn't tackle him? Callie and or myself could very well be dead right now." She said, placing her hand on her wife's bare knee. "So don't feel bad, I won't sit here and let you wallow around in self pity because you protected us, so buck up big guy." Arizona said, standing and walking over to Ray and giving him a hug. "You were great and I thank you." Arizona didn't seem to be phased by this mishap this morning, she was just grateful that it was over.

"Me too Ray." Callie stood up and embraced him too. "You saved her, and I'm thankful for that." She said kissing her cheek.

"You're very welcome, both of you. I just wish I felt better about it." He said, sitting back down in his chair.

"Well.. I'm not sure that I can blame you. If I were in your shoes I'm positive I would feel that way too, but Ray my wife's right. You did everything you could do and no matter what.. he was going to try something." Callie said patting his arm. "Are you afraid my father will be pissed when we return home?"

"No, I'm just afraid that I have let him down." He said, resting his elbows on his knees and rubbing his face.

"You've not let anyone down. You understand me?"

"Yes, Mrs. Robbins." He nodded. Callie never corrected him like she usually would have any other person. She couldn't get enough of people calling her that.

"Was that all you wanted to talk to us about?" Arizona asked their bodyguard.

"No, Like I said, Mathis started singing like a canary when they questioned him."

"What all did he say?" The brunette asked.

"He admitted to the murders in Italy."

"Wow.." Arizona said, bowing her head. Feeling her wife place a comforting hand on her back. She felt for those families, she's been there herself and she would never wish that on her worst enemy if she had one.

"The cops also went back and reviewed more footage. He had been following us the other day too. That's how he figured out where you were."

"Damn." Callie said, shaking her head.

"I'm just.. I'm sorry guys."

"Please don't Ray." Arizona said. "Did they say anything else."

"They said he had a revolver and duck tape on his person. It looks like he was going to try to kidnap you." He said looking at Arizona.

"Why me though?" Arizona ask confused as to why he was after her and not Callie or anyone else for that matter.

"Well, from what I'm understanding the three women that had been murdered by him were blondes. Evidently he has a thing for them."

Sighing, Arizona had heard enough. "That's... I've heard enough." She said, standing from her seat and walking upstairs. There were a thousand thoughts running through her head and she couldn't think straight.

"I'm sorry Mrs. Arizona." He said to the retreating woman.

"It's not you Ray." Callie said, standing from her seat. "It's just.." She swallowed, not knowingness she was stepping out of line or not with her wife, but she didn't want him to feel any worse than he already did. "Arizona watched her brother get murdered a few years ago and she doesn't handle it too well at times and I'm sure this has her thinking about him. It's not you." She said, walking to the stairs to check on her wife. "I'm gonna check on her real quick." She said, running up the steps to find her wife.

Looking around the room, Callie saw that her wife must have been in the bathroom. "Arizona?" She knocked. "Honey?" Turning the knob seeing it was unlocked. Entering the room she saw her wife sitting in the vanity chair with her arms propped up on her legs and her head in her hand. "Babe.." She said, walking up to her and kneeling down. "Oh sweetie." Callie said, rubbing her wife's thighs as she heard her cries. Callie really didn't know what to say right now because she really had no clue what her wife was thinking. Sometimes being there for someone wasn't talking them through it, it was just physically being there of them. Reaching for a tissue on the side of the table, she tucked it in her wife's hand.

Feeling Callie stuff a tissue in her hand, Arizona wiped her eyes. She was grateful that her wife didn't press her to talk when she had first came in because she honestly didn't think she could if she had. Sighing, she relaxed a little when she felt the brunettes comforting touch. Collecting her thoughts a few more minutes, "That made me think..."

"Arizona, you don't have to say anything. I understand." She said, looking up at her wife's teary face.

"That made me think of how I felt when my brother died, but then I thought it wasn't Tim." She shook her head. "I thought what if it was you instead. And I couldn't imagine the pain I would have been in if Mathis would have killed you. I'm sure it would have been worse than I felt with Tim. I don't think I could honestly survive it, Callie.. not again. Then I thought.. what if he would have go to me like he tried."

Callie didn't say a word. She just let her wife say what she needed at the moment.

"What if he killed me?" Arizona wiped her face. "I don't want you to ever go through that kind of pain, Calliope. It hurts too bad." She said, her tears returning. "Then I had this vision.. of you over top my body, like I was when Tim died and I couldn't take it anymore. I can't listen to anything else Ray had to tell us." She cried. "I can't."

"Oh, honey." Callie said, embracing her wife. Feeling Arizona collapse her weight onto her shoulder, "You don't have too." Callie just cradled her. She didn't have any words for her wife right now so all she could do is let her know she was there for her. "Shh.." She whispered. "I got you, baby.. I have got you." She whispered, trying her best to sooth her wife. Doing the only think she knew to go at the moment, Callie began humming the song she wrote for her wife on their wedding day.

"That's my song." Arizona muffled into her wife's shoulder after Callie finished the whole song. Recognizing it as soon as her wife started humming.

"Mmhmm.." Callie let out a small laugh. "It sure is." She said, rubbing her hand up and down her wife's back. "You okay love?"

"Yeah." She said, breathing out a big puff of air. "I'm okay.. I just needed to let it out I guess." She said, embracing her wife back. "Thanks."

"You're welcome."

"If... If you want to hear what else he has to say that's fine, but I don't, Callie. I don't want to hear anymore about it. It's over and done with. And I don't want to sit and listen about it any more."

"Okay.. you don't have too. I'll go down and talk to Ray and let him know that he can just tell the details to my dad."

"You don't want to know?"

"No. It's like you said. It's over and done with. If there is something we need to be aware of, I'm sure my father will let us know." Callie said as she began to stand from the floor. "Oh lord, I'm getting too old for this." She groaned, standing to her feet.

"You are." Arizona chuckled. "Or maybe I'm not the only one with a little sex injury."

"Hmm... maybe." She winked.

"Callie?"

"Yes, sweetie?" She said, turning around in the door frame of the bathroom.

"Can we not tell anyone back home? I know your dad already knows, but I don't want those pity eyes from anyone when we talk about our honeymoon."

"It's over and done with sweetie. It' no one else's business what we had to deal with on our honeymoon." She said, walking up to her wife and kissing her on her pink lips. "How about you freshing up a little." She said, wiping her wife's eyes. "And I'll run down stairs and tell Ray that he just needs to call my father with the details.. Okay?" She told her wife. "Actually.. you really don't need to freshen up, you look gorgeous."

"Thanks." Arizona laughed, catching sight of herself in the mirror. "Oh Jesus, Callie. Look at me. My face is all tear stained and red." She said, walking up to the mirror.

"I've said it once and I'll say it again. You're gorgeous." She said, kissing her temple. "Come down whenever you're ready babe."

After making herself presentable to be out in public with her beautiful brunette, Arizona went back down stairs where the brunette and their bodyguard were waiting on her. Before leaving the hotel room, Callie has asked the blonde if she would like to take a cab or walk to their destination, warning her of what about a fifteen to twenty minute stroll. Agreeing with her wife that she would rather walk so they could take in the scenery one last time before they leave the city, the couple exited their hotel and walked down the streets of Paris hand in hand with Ray trailing safely behind them. Taking their time, Arizona asked her wife several times where they were headed only getting a "You'll see." Response from the Latina. Walking to their destination, both content on not saying much, just soaking up the scenes around them, they finally came in view of their destination. "We're here." Callie grinned.

"I thought that.." Arizona scrunched her brows. "You had me going." She bumped her wife with her hip as they walked closer to the Eiffel Tower.

"Did it work?" Callie winked. "I thought it would be beautiful at night and more romantic with all the lights glowing from the city."

"Yeah." She laughed. "But why did we have to get dressed up to come here?"

"Well, I have booked us reservations for dinner at Le Jules Verne."

"Where is it?" She asked, looking around to see if she could see the restaurant around them on the street.

"It's inside the tower silly." She said, pulling her wife by the hand.

"Seriously? How did I not know there was a restaurant inside?"

"Well, I guess the same reason you didn't know you could go up in the tower and view the city scape." Callie teased. Remembering Arizona's shocked state a few days ago when she told her that the long line was people waiting to go up in the tower.

"Shut up." The blonde played.

"Well?" Callie playfully teased.

"Could be." She shrugged. "But.. you don't like heights." She stated. She didn't want Callie to go up if she was really that uneasy.

"I don't. But I'm okay with it. I handled the Space Needle with ease. I can handle this too, right?" She asked, walking around the tower towards the restaurant entrance.

"Right." Arizona said, squeezing her wife's hand. "I'll hold your hand the whole time." She laughed, kissing the back of the Latinas hand. "Thank you."

"Thank you. And... you're very welcome." Callie replied. She knew that Arizona wanted to tour the tower ever since she found out that people could go up inside. She was just waiting until tonight so it could be even more romantic when they had dinner inside. "Everything I do, I do for you." She said leaning in for a kiss. "I love you babe."

"I love you too, my sweet sex tiger." She giggled.

"You're so incorrigible." The brunette said shaking her head. "Come on. I don't know about you, but your tiger is so hungry she could eat a raw steak."

"Eww.." She shuddered at the thought. "We can't have that now can we." She said walking up to the door. "Especially if you plan on kissing my lips anytime soon."

"Oh, I plan on it later tonight." She growled.

"Calliope.." Arizona said, she honestly didn't know if she could have sex with her wife right now, but she really wanted to.

"I can be gentle." She winked. "Relax my pudding pop." She laughed at her wife. "I know you're hurting... but I'm not." Walking into the restaurant, they walked up to the desk with Ray behind them. "Ray will you join us?"

"No Mrs. Robbins I'm keeping my distance, I want you to just enjoy your last night here."

"Okay. We have reservation for two under Torres." Callie told the server.

Looking over his books, the waiter found her name and checked it off. "It will be just a few minutes Mrs. Torres. If you'd like to have a seat I'll come get you when it's ready."

Nodding, "Thank you." She said walking over to the seating area and taking a seat. Seeing Arizona was still standing over by the window. "Come sit." She mouthed to her wife as patted the seat beside her.

Shaking her head, Arizona declined by holding her hand up to tell her wife no. Turning she turned towards the windows to see the view of the city. Studying Arizona, Callie decided to go stand by her wife. "Come sit with me babe."

"No thanks, I'm fine here." She said, slightly stepping out of her wife's arm.

"Hey.. what's wrong?" Callie said, stepping closer to her wife.

"It's stupid." She shook her head as Ray stood by the entrance surveying the room around him.

"Nothing's stupid, tell me. Do you feel uncomfortable? If so we can leave."

"No, It's not that." She sighed. "It's just.. you said Torres."

"Yeah?" Callie asked confused.

"You've just made a point to correct anyone that has called you that since we've been married." She shrugged. "But you got our reservations under Torres." The blonde said. She loved how Callie had corrected everyone, but she didn't understand why she made a point to do that and make their reservations under her maiden name.

"Oh. I didn't make these reservations honey. Well wait.. I did, but I didn't. I had my dad to do it because they know him well here and the reservations are in his name. I'm sorry sweetie, I should have said." She said, tightening the hold on her wife and planting a kiss on the side of her head.

"See. I told you it was stupid." She rolled her eyes at herself.

"Yea it was." She said, turning her head and looking around the room enjoying the view of the city around them.

"Hey." Arizona nudged her. "You're not suppose to agree."

"Oh, okay. No, that wasn't stupid babe. Don't say that." Callie teased, seeing her wife glare at her playfully. She loved how they could easily joke with each other in serious and fun times. "Such a shame you know?" Callie said, starring at her wife.

"What is?" The blonde asked.

"That there isn't enough words in the Spanish or English dictionary to explain how much you mean to me."

"I don't see it as a shame at all, I kinda like that I can leave you speechless." She smiled as the waiter came to escort them to the table. Walking through the restaurant, they finally took their seat at the table in the back of the restaurant.

"This is our best table." The waiter said as the girls took their seat across from one another. "Could I start you off with some wine?"

"Yes please. We want the best you have." Callie said, placing her napkin in her lap.

"Yes, ma'am." He said leaving the table.

Getting up out of her seat, Arizona pulled her chair over next to her wife. "What are you doing honey?" Callie asked.

"I'm too far away. I feel like we have to yell to hear each other." She said, settling back in her seat.

"Don't lie." Callie smiled. She always loved how Arizona liked to sit next to her in restaurants. "The table's only a two person table babe, you're a terrible liar." She laughed as Arizona leaned into her.

"Okay so, I want to sit beside my lovely wife and enjoy this breathtaking view." She said, looking out the windows at the shinning city below them. Placing her hand on her wife's thigh. "Is there something in the marriage rule books that says I can't do that?"

"Better not be, or I'll have to get them to change it." She laughed. "I love it." She said as the waiter brought them their wine and a basket of bread. "This view really is something, isn't it."

"Mmhmm." She hummed, before the two sat in silence a while just enjoying the scenery.

"Do you think this will ever change?" Arizona asked, taking a drink of her wine after they placed their order. "Oh, that's some really good wine."

"Mmm.. It is." The brunette hummed, sitting her glass on the table. "Do I think what will change?"

"This." Arizona motioned between them. "How we are with each other. How we like to sit beside each other and not across from each other. The way we whisper to each other and act like the other is the only person in the room." She said, swirling the wine in her glass around.

"I would like to say no. But, we'd only be kidding ourselves if I did. Like we've both said before, we're not perfect and I don't want us to be either. We've had our arguments and our ups and downs and everything in between, but the one thing that stays the same is our love. I know that when I am upset or mad, that no matter what.. I still love you. We don't really know what our future holds. I think as long as we keep putting each other first in every thing we do, like we have so far we'll stay the same." She said, placing her arm around her wife's shoulders at the blonde leaned into her more. "What do you think? You think it'll change?" Callie asked.

"We've had our fair share of adversity. But I think every time something happens to us, it brings us closer. Don't you?" The blonde replied.

"Yeah, I really do. I don't think we take each other for granted like most couples do."

"I agree, I think if we ever did, your attack was an eye opener. I know that I love you and you love me and that neither is shy about showing our affection for one another in front of anyone. So I would say that this shouldn't change, or at lease I won't let it on my end."

"Mine neither, love." Callie said kissing her wife's temple. "Does this mean I get to really enjoy our dinner, if you know what I mean." She purred, placing her hand on her wife's that was resting on her leg and scooted it closer to her center.

Squeezing her hand on her wife's thigh close to her core. "Mmm.. you'd love that huh?" Arizona husked, her pinky brushing up against her wife's panties.

"Mmhmm."

"I'd also love to do that, but since Ray is here I'm sure keeping an extra close eye on us and our surrounds, I think you'll have to wait on that one love. But if you're nice.. I think I can try to get us reservations at La Spiga before we get back into the swing of things at home."

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah, you just say the word and I'll make it happen." She said, patting her wife's thigh as the waiter brought their food.

"The word." Callie leaned in and whispered as their food was placed in front of them. "Thank you." She smiled at the waiter. "Can we have another bottle of wine please?"

"Yes ma'am."

"Big spender tonight huh?" Arizona said, finishing off her second glass, then pulling out her cell phone and sending off a quick text.

"Big drinker huh?" Her wife countered.

"Mmhmm." She giggled. "Maybe I'm hoping you'll take advantage of me."

"Not happening baby." She said, taking a bite of her food. "Tonight's my night and I'm getting my back scratched." She purred.

"I'll be fine with that." The blonde said, refilling their glasses with the rest of the bottle of wine. Hearing a text come through the phone. "Sunday night, babe. Me.. you.. and Italian." She winked. Showing her wife her phone. She had texted to see if Teddy would get her dinner reservations for La Spiga for Sunday. When the couple first got together, reservations at the Italian restaurant were hard to come by on short notice. But after becoming regulars there, it was nothing for them to get a table. "Whatever you want, we'll do."

"Yes!" She laughed, reading the text and getting a little too excited for their future dinner plans. "Seeing you're sore, I want you... in my bed with your pajamas on." She purred, raising an eyebrow at the blonde. "And I want to lay on top of you while you tell me a story and scratch my back until I fall asleep."

"You got it." Arizona winked, taking her wife's hand in hers, as she finished her meal.

"Yey!" She laughed. "I hate to say it because I don't want our honeymoon to end, but I'm so ready to go home, it feels like it's been forever." Callie said, finishing off her wine.

"Oh, me too. We really need a whole day at home to do absolutely nothing, but lay in bed with our babies and eat pizza."

"Arizona.. the boys are getting to big for the bed, but I really miss them and you're right. I think we need at least a day or two to just lay around." She said, hugging her wife tight, causing the sides of their heads to bump each other.

"Oww.." She laughed.

"Sorry." The brunette chuckled. "So earlier.. you said you sent Ray out.. what did he have to get?"

"You just can't wait can ya?" She said, looking at her wife. Every time Callie found out that she had a surprise up her sleeve, the brunette would hound her with it like a seven year old kid on Christmas.

"No." She giggled.

Reaching for her purse, Arizona sat it on her lap. "Well, I know we have our lovely 'hers' and 'hers' homemade locket bracelets to remember doing our love lock. But I wanted to get you something to remember our time in Paris." She said pulling the small box that Ray had delivered to her earlier in the day.

"Ooo... someone's been to Tiffany's." Callie clapped her hands together quietly when she saw the blue box. She loved how Arizona would spoiler her with gifts just because.

"Yep." She smiled, handing Callie the box. "It's just a little token of my love."

Smiling, the brunette opened the box reveling a blue jewelry bag. Opening the bag, she pulled out a white gold chain with a replica of the Eiffel Tower dangling from the necklace. "It's beautiful." She laughed. "Thank you."

"Why do you always laugh when I give you a gift. Is it too cheesy? Cause I swear I saw you eyeing it a time or two."

"Absolutely not." She said, handing her wife the necklace to put on her. Gathering up her hair, Arizona added the piece to her neck. "Thank you, sweetie. I really love it." She said, leaning in for a kiss.

"You're welcome." She smiled, seeing the piece hanging around her wife's neck.

Grabbing her purse, Callie sat it on her lap and pulled out a small blue box and sat it in front of her wife. "You're not the only one who likes to show love." She smiled, meeting blue eyes.

"When did you?" She asked.

"Last night. I had Ray go back and buy it after we returned from dinner. You're not the only one that's full of surprises, love."

Opening the box, Arizona saw a white gold bracelet with a Eiffel Tower charm dangling from the chain just like the one on her wife's necklace. "It's officially confirmed." She smiled up at her wife. "We spend way too much time together." She laughed. "It's beautiful, Calliope." She leaned in and kissed her wife's red lips. "I love you so much, babe."

"Me too, me too." Callie replied, putting the bracelet on her wife. "Beautiful." She purred.

"Thank you for surprising me with dinner at the Eiffel Tower and my bracelet, Calliope." Arizona said, kissing their joined hands.

"You're welcome, Mi Amor." She said, kissing her wife's cheek. "You want to go out on the observatory deck for a little bit before we head back?"

"Sounds perfect."
