MERRY CHRISTMAS! :)

Chapter 58

"The party has arri.." Cristina said, rushing up to Callie and Arizona, eager to get her drink on, but a glimpse of someone familiar at the bar stopped her sentence. "Looks like the party arrived well before now, what the hell is Hahn doing here?"

"We don't know." Callie said, finishing her drink as more of their friends came down the stairs.

"Hey guys, guess who I saw a little bit ago." Teddy said, walking up to her friends.

"Erica Hahn?" Arizona asked.

"What? Eww no. Why would you even say that?" Teddy scrunched up her nose.

"Cause she's at the bar."

"No.. Just no. I saw Melinda and Robbin. Oh my god she's so cute. Look." She said, pulling her phone out of her pocket and showing the picture of Robbin she took earlier with her phone.

"She's getting so big." Callie smiled looking at the screen.

"Let me see." Arizona said, grabbing the phone. "Oh my goodness look at those chubby cheeks. I just want to kiss them." She gushed as her best friend took a seat beside her.

"Umm.. Zo.. What is the troll doing here?" Teddy asked, whispering to her friend.

"I dunno. It's a free country, she can go anywhere she wants." She said taking a drink.

"How are y'all handling that?"

"Well, I don't know if she knows we're here, but I'm sure she will before too long if she doesn't." She looked over to Cristina whom was getting a little loud in her conversation with her wife. "God I swear that cutie is getting prettier and prettier every time I see her." Arizona said, handing her phone back to Teddy. "You missed it Teds." She whispered back to her friend.

"Missed what?"

"Callie and I hadda little.. I don't know what you'd call it.. Fight.. or disagreement again." When they had gotten back from their honeymoon, Arizona had told Teddy about her wanting to have a baby with Callie. To say her friend was shocked was an understatement, but just like she had told her wife, she couldn't help her want.

"About what?"

"A baby." She sighed. "She just seems so against it and it kind of hurts my feelings. I mean.. you've been there multiply times when she's talked about wanting one, but since we got married it's like she's turned off by having one with me."

"I'm sure that's not it at all Zo. Maybe she's just enjoying your time together right now, y'all just got married. Enjoy it, you have plenty of time to have babies later."

"She told me she thinks she won't be a good mom. How in the world would she think that, Teddy? I mean, she treats me like I'm a freaking queen and the dogs.. it's like they're kids. They are the two biggest babies because of her."

"Maybe she's just shocked that you're ready for this already. Maybe she's just wanting to make sure that you are sure you want this. Because this is a big change Zo. Everything you can do now... like this." She said, seeing all their friends around them relaxing and drinking. "You can't do near as often when you have a baby."

"What is with you two? Do you honestly think I've not weighed all the options? I swear if I didn't know better it sounds like you two have been talking about this behind my back." She said, not knowing that statement was very true.

"That's silly, Arizona." Teddy dismissed her, quickly changing the subject.

"Hey, Cal?" Teddy said to the brunette. "How's your grandma? Arizona told me she hadn't been feeling to well." She said getting her friends attention.

"She's.." Sighing. "She's not doing so good Teddy." She said as Arizona stood up from her stool and walked up beside her.

"What's wrong with her?"

"Well she had that fall a week ago and hurt her leg. Her doctor told her to stay off it for a few days so she stayed in bed but I guess with all that laying down, she had got some fluid built up in her lungs and she's just having a rough time getting over that. I'm scared it's going to turn into pneumonia. And at her age that's hard to recover from." She said, feeling her wife circle her arms around her. Arizona knew how much Maria meant to her wife and to her for that matter and she couldn't stand seeing her wife upset about it.

"She'll be alright babe, your nana's strong." Arizona whispered, kissing her wife in the temple.

"I hope your right." She said, leaning into her wife's arms.

"Is your parents going to make it in for Christmas?"

"It don't know yet, depends on her I guess." She replied to Teddy, spinning the stem of her empty glass around on the table. "My dad doesn't want to leave her right now."

"You know if you want you can go down to Miami and spend Christmas with your grandma, Calliope."

"No, I know you won't leave your parents for Christmas and I wouldn't either if I was in your shoes and I don't want to leave you. It's our first Christmas as a married couple. Plus Nana wouldn't want me to come down there and fuss over her and leave you here. I'll go down if she's still not doing well after the holidays."

"Callie.." The blonde tried. She knew if her wife didn't go down to see her grandmother and something we're happen to her she wouldn't be able to l forgive herself for not saying goodbye.

"No, Arizona. Aria said she didn't look good and I don't want to see her like that, I can't handle it. I'll go if she gets worse."

"Okay.. okay, baby." She said, hugging her wife.

"I'm sorry, Callie." Teddy said, reaching for her friends hand. "It's so hard seeing someone you love so sick."

"Thanks Teds." She breathed, letting out a large breath. "I need another drink." She said, standing from her seat. "Anyone else want one?"

"I need a refill, I'll come with you." Arizona said, taking her wife's hand and walking to the bar together. "You okay, babe?"

"Yeah I'm fine. I just don't want to talk about it okay?" She asked, leaning on the bar. "If I don't think about it, I don't worry about it and right now I don't want to worry about it."

"Okay sweetie, we won't think about it until we have too." She said, leaning over on her wife and wrapping her arm around her midsection. "But you can talk to me about it anytime you need to okay?"

"Okay, thank you." She kissed her wife on the forehead.

"What can I get for you two." Joe asked waiting on his favorite customers.

"We need some refills Joe. And give us a round of tequila shots at the table, we need to liven that dull bunch up!"

"You got it Arizona." He winked at her and went about making their drinks.

"So I've been thinking.." Arizona said, hoping to take her wife's mind of her grandma.

"Bout what?" Callie said, taking an empty seat at the bar and pulling her wife in between her legs.

"Our anniversary."

"Umm.. I hate to break it to you but we still have nine more months until then." Her wife laughed.

"No, silly.. I mean like our other anniversaries. Like when we proposed and our original anniversary in May."

"So what have you been thinking about?" Callie asked as Joe brought Arizona's drink to her.

"Hey Cal, yours will be just another minute, I hadda get someone to run to the back and get some more cranberry juice."

"That's fine Joe, we'll wait."

"I still want to celebrate those days too. I don't know if people usually do that, but those days are just as special as our wedding day to me." Arizona said after Joe went back to work. "I mean.. we don't have to go all out." She said taking a drink of her cocktail. "Not like our wedding anniversary but, is still like to celebrate those days too."

"Me too, of course we'll celebrate those days. I'd still like to keep going camping on our anniversary in May."

"Good.. me too." She smiled, watching as Callie tried her grinch drink. "You like it?" She asked.

"Yeah, it's really good. Tastes kinda like sherbet." She told her wife. "Joe.. how about making a few more of these instead of my drink. This is pretty good." She told him.

"Sure thing, Cal."

"That's good." Callie said, hugging her wife.

"Mmhmm.." Arizona said, taking another drink of her cocktail. "Really good."

"I know something that would taste better." She said, biting her lip.

"Oh yeah.. What's that?" She said, watching the brunette take another drink of her cocktail.

"This..." She said, leaning in and capturing pink lips with hers. "Mmm.. That can easily become my second favorite taste."

"It is pretty amazing, isn't it." She laughed, licking the taste off her lips. "What's your first favorite taste?" Arizona leaned in and whispered in her wife's ear.

"Mmm..." she moaned, squeezing her wife's behind. "Well.." She said, pulling her wife flush against her body. Grinning widely when Arizona's chest brushed up against her chin.

"Don't do it, Calliope.." Arizona laughed, seeing the playfulness on her wife's eyes.

"But I have too..."

"No you don't either." She giggled.

"I do, I can't resist them when they're right in my face." She said, burying her face in her cleavage and kissing her chest, laughing when she felt Arizona wiggle around. "You have the best boobs." She smiled up at her wife.

"And you have the best kisses, but quit skirting around my question, tell me.. What's your favorite taste?" She said, raising her eyebrow at her wife.

Running her hand down Arizona's butt, she slid her hand between her thighs from behind, grazing her center with the tips of her fingers. "This is my all time favorite taste." She purred into the blondes neck.

"Do you know how bad I want you to touch me right now?"

"Yep." Callie said, pushing her wife back slightly, just enough to place her knee between her wife's legs. Pulling her close again, Arizona straddled her knee. "Just as much as I want you to fuck my leg right now." She laughed, watching her wife swallow the lump in her throat. Raising her knee slightly, she felt her wife grind down on it.

"You know, I'm not opposed to you taking me out back behind Joes and having your way with me in the pouring snow."

"Hey Joe.. Mind if we go out back for some fresh air?" Callie asked the man behind the bar.

"Sure thing, but your drinks are ready." He said, sitting down two more green cocktails and the tequila shots on a tray."

"Care to take them to the table? Arizona needs a little fresh air, she's feeling a little sick."

"Sure thing Cal." He winked and walked off with their drinks.

"Come on, baby." She laughed walking around the bar coming face to face with the one person they forgot was in the establishment with them.

Watchin the two newlyweds walk up to the bar, Erica sat back and sipped on her drink. Making small talk with her group of coworkers, she never took her eyes off the two women the whole time, while they were oblivious to her stares. Watching the blonde sip her drink as her old friend hugged the blonde woman whispering and giggling the whole time, wishing she had that with someone. Finally seeing them coming her way, she decides to confront the two.

"Erica.. Hey." Callie smiled at her old friend who popped out in front of her.

"Callie. Arizona." She smiled at them. "I hear congratulations are in order. I was told you got married."

"We did." Arizona said, hugging close to her wife's arm. "Thank you, Erica."

"Well... if you'll excuse us." Callie said, stepping around the blonde.

"Wait.." Erica said, grabbing Arizona's arm. "I just want to say something first." She said, seeing Callie's mean look when she grabbed her wife. "Sorry.." She said, holding her hands up. "I don't mean amy harm. I just want to apologize for the way things went down the last time I saw you both."

"Why should we accept your apology Erica?" Callie asked.

"I've been getting help. I realized I had a problem and I've been seeing a therapist. I'm getting help and a step with my recovery is apologizing for what I did. And I'm sorry. I can't take it back, but I'm sorry. What I did was wrong on so many levels an I just hope one day you both can forgive me."

Looking to her wife, Callie giving the blonde a nod. "Your apologies accepted Erica." Arizona said, holding her hand out to the blonde.

Shaking the offered hand, "I hope one day we can become friends again.. All of us."

"I'd like that Erica, but..." Callie said, shaking her head.

"I've changed, Callie. I know it's hard to believe but I've changed. And if we can't be friends, at least I tried right?"

"Maybe... I don't know.." Arizona shrugged. "Maybe if we're all here together again some times we can have drinks?" She said, looking towards her wife.

"Yeah. Maybe next time, we can sit down and have a drink." Callie said, holding her wife right to her. "If you don't mind, we have to.." She said, pointing towards Joes kitchen.

"That would be nice. Thanks." Erica said, holding her drink up to the girls. Giving them the go ahead to go in with their business. "Merry Christmas."

"Merry Christmas, Erica." Callie tuned and said as she walked into Joes kitchen to have her way with her wife out back.

"Calliope..." Arizona said, sitting the breakfast tray down on their coffee table in the living room. Laying back down with her sleeping wife, she peppered kisses on her exposed face. "Wake up, sleepy head. Santa came..." She laughed, receiving a moan from her wife. They had made a big bed in front of the fire place again just like their first Christmas together. "Come on Rudolph, Santa's waiting for you." She laughed, nudging her wife's face with hers.

"You broke me.." Callie whined, rolling on her right side to snuggle with her wife, they had spent the better half of the night making love just like last Christmas morning.

"Hey, it's not my fault you look sexy as a reindeer." She giggled. This year Callie was in charge of their Christmas pajamas and she had bought them Rudolph footed pajamas to which Arizona went crazy over.

"I can make anything look sexy." Callie smiled, cupping the blondes cheek. She loved how Arizona made her feel like the most loved person in the world. "I love you." Callie said, brushing her thumb over the bottom lip of her lover. "I don't feel I've told you that enough recently."

"I love you too, and you have." She leaned her face into the touch. "You've had a lot on your shoulders recently babe, which maybe makes you feel that way, but you have baby." Work had been busy for both women, but Callie had a little more added stress on her shoulders the past week and a half with her grandma being sick. Her father had called her the day after they were at Joes which was four nights ago to let her and Arizona know that they for sure weren't going to make it in for Christmas because Maria just couldn't seem to get better. So much in fact that she was now in the hospital on the ICU floor with pneumonia. Exactly what Callie was afraid of, but there was nothing they could have done to prevent it from happening.

"I don't feel like it."

"Callie, you don't have to tell me you love me a hundred times a day for me to know it. I mean don't get me wrong, it's very very nice." She smiled leaning in closer to her wife and wrapping her arm around the small of the Latinas back to pulled her closer. "But you've got other things on your mind sweetie and that's understandable." She said, kissing red lips. "It just means I need to step up and let you know a little extra that you are wanted and Loved."

"You don't have to do that.."

"Yes I do too, I also got to make sure my wife eats." She glared at her. "You think I've not paid attention.. but I do all the time and I noticed after you talked to your sister yesterday afternoon you've not ate. You didn't touch a bite of food last night when everyone was over, you need to eat Calliope, you've not ate since yesterday morning."

"I know.. I just wasn't hungry." She rolled over to face the lite up Christmas tree.

"Callie..."

"Not right now.." She said, not ready to talk about it yet, she hadn't told her wife what all her sister had told her yesterday before their Christmas Eve party with their friends and she really didn't want too today either because it was Christmas and she didn't want to put a damper on it thinking about her grandma. If she didn't talk about it, it didn't seem real, and if it didn't seem real, everything was okay with her for the moment.

"Okay, but you will eat, so sit up her and eat, honey." She said, hitting her wife's hip.

Rolling back over, Callie's mind immediately realized what her wife had cooked for them, the smell finally taking over her senses. "You made my grandmas cinnamon rolls again?" She asked, her eyes shinning.

"Yeah, I told you last year, I was making it one of our traditions." She smiled handing her wife her cup of coffee and a plate with a roll in it. "Eat sweetie and then we'll go put dinner on and we'll open presents after."

"Thanks." She gave her wife a small smile before taking a bit of her breakfast along with her wife. "I don't know how you do it..." She said, shaking her head. "..but they taste... just like hers." She whinpered, fighting the water works.

Arizona watched as her wife took a bit of the cinnamon roll causing the tear to form in her lovers eyes. "Calliope.." She said, taking the plate and coffee from her when she saw she was about to break.

"What am I going to do Arizona?" Her voice broke. "What if she dies? I can't lose my nana, I don't know if I can do that." She cried as her wife wrapped her up in a hug. "I've never lost anyone close to me before and I don't know how to feel." She cried into her wife's hair.

"Oh, Calliope... Baby." Arizona whispered, holding her wife close. She wished she had the words to comfort her wife right now, but there are no words to help someone going through something like this. "It's not easy."

"Aria said.." She sniffed, "She said, that they had to hook her up to a CPAP machine yesterday." She cried. "Said she couldn't...breathe very good."

"It's helping her breathe, Calliope." Arizona tried to reason with her, having the CPAP wasn't necessarily a bad thing. "You got to stay positive, baby."

"I don't want her to die."

"I know.. I know... I don't either." She whispered to her crying wife. "But if she's suffering, it's so hard to watch that babe. I've seen it first hand with my grandpa, Callie." She shook her head, trying to get the images out that popped in her mind of her grandpa in the hospital bed when she was younger. "I felt the same way when he way dying. And I just wanted him to live one more day and then that day came and I wanted just one more day and then one more day. He was suffering so bad Callie, and then I thought about it after he died. And all I felt was relief.. relief that he wasn't suffering anymore. Because he didn't have to lie in that bed and fight to breathe." She said, trying to console her wife. "We don't know that nana is suffering right now." She said, petting her wife. "But if she is Calliope, it's best for her to go. I know that it's hard to see that right now, but you would understand if it comes down to that, but I pray to God it doesn't."

"How do you get through that Ari, I don't know that I can." Callie cried, holding onto her wife as a lifeline.

"You just have to take each day as they come, sweetie. Her memory will live on right here." She said, placing her hand over her wife's heart. "That pain doesn't ever go away.. but over time... it gets easier and easier to live with. You'll never stop missing them, but the pain does get bearable eventually." She said, kissing her wife's clothed shoulder. "But remember.. I'll be here for whatever comes your way. And I'll be your crutch, okay. You don't have to be strong for anyone, Calliope. Not me.. not your sister or your parents. It's okay to be upset and sad. Let me carry your burden okay?"

"Okay." She whispered into her wife's hair. "Can you just... hold me for a few more minutes?" She sniffed.

"Of course, as long as you don't get snot all over Rudolph." She lightly laughed.

"I'll try my best." She sighed, in her wife's arms.

Before they knew it, more than thirty minutes had passed as Callie cried into her wife shoulder. Arizona finally breaking it up when she noticed the time. If they didn't get dinner in the oven now, it wouldn't be ready when their guests arrived. After making sure her wife was okay, they spent over an hour in the kitchen getting things ready and putting the turkey in the oven for their Christmas dinner later that day. Arizona stayed a little closer by her wife's side more than normal as they prepared the food to cook. Just making sure that the brunette was okay. She really wished she had Callie by her side when she lost her brother, being in her presents lifted her spirits no matter what was going on and she only hoped she could do the same for her wife.

"Okay I have one last gift for you to open right now." Callie said after they had opened most the gifts from each other. She was so glad she had her wife by her side, she was the best pick me up. And spoiling her wife with gifts always helped.

"Wait... I have one more for you too." Arizona jumped up from her place in the floor by the tree to get her wife's gift. Walking to the closet by the foyer, she retrieved her wife's last gift.

"Babe, I thought we said no big extravagant gifts this year." Callie said watching her wife drag a large flat box in the room.

"We did.. And it's not extravagant." She said, stopping in front of her wife. "It's something personal I made for you. I hope you like it." She smiled.

"You made it?" Her eyes lit up.

"Yeah.. well.. kinda." She shrugged.

Standing from her place in the floor, Callie unwrapped the present. Opening the box, her mouth dropped open when she pulled the framed picture from the box. "Arizona..." Callie's eyes went wide when she say her wife lying naked on a soft with with her leg bent just enough to cover her clad center and her right arm covering her exposed breasts.

"You tell me all the time that you take mental pictures of me naked and this time I thought.. why not give her something she can look at all the time." She winked. "You like it?"

"Like it?" Callie said, looking the picture up and down. "I.. Wow.. I love it babe.." She smiled. "It would go perfect over the fire place right there." She grinned, looking at the TV that hung in their wall over the fire.

"I don't think so... my parents and our friends are in this house too much for them to be seeing me naked all the time, but I wouldn't object it being over our fireplace in the bedroom."

"You're right, I don't want someone getting their kicks by seeing my woman naked.. That's only for me..." She grinned, running her hand over the glass from. "Thank you."

"You're welcome babe." Arizona leaned in for a kiss.

"I have one more for you too." Callie said, reaching behind the tree and pulling the last gift out. "Now before you open it, I just want you to know that I've thought long and hard on this gift and I can't think of anything more perfect to give to you.. Well to us actually." She said, handing it to her wife, feeling her heart rate pick up as she handed it to her wife.

"What is it?" Arizona said, shaking the small gift box.

"Just open it." Callie said, bouncing in her place.

Unwrapping the gift, Arizona opened the lid of the box. Seeing a small business card in the inside of the box, laying on top of tissue paper. "What is this?" she asked, sitting down on the floor rand placing the box in her lap. "Appointment card for January 5 at Seattle Grace?" She said, read the card. "What is this?"

"There is more." She pointed at the box, kneeling on her knees in front of her wife. "Hopefully it'll explain." She nervously smiled, watching her wife tear through the tissue paper.

"Removing the paper from the box, Arizona pulled out a small piece of clothing. Unfolding the dark gray material, revealing a small baby onesie that read. 'I love my mommies.' on the front. "I.. I.." She said, not realizing what she was looking at. "What is this?"

"It's a baby onesie."

"I know that but..." She said, realization sinking in... "Callie?" She exclaimed, looking up at her wife. "Does this mean?"

"Yes." She grinned. "I'm ready, Arizona. I'm so ready to have a baby with you."

"Really? You really mean that? Because just a few days ago you said you weren't. Anytime a baby was mentioned you veered the subject into another direction." She said, holding up the little outfit.

"I know, but I had too because if I didn't I was going to tell you.. And I really wanted to wait and surprise you with this today. I've been ready since Melinda had Robbin at the clinic. Seeing you with that little baby made me realize how ready I was. I still believe I won't be a great mom, but you will.. You'd be an amazing mom. So I talked to Addie and she made us an appointment for January 5th to discuss our options with her."

"You'd be an awesome mom." Arizona said, letting it all sink it. "Calliope..." She exclaimed, wrapping her arms around her wife's neck. "We're going to have a baby." She cried.

"We are.." She said, returning the embrace. "Well.. we're going to try anyway. When you first told me that you was ready in Paris I was scared you were just trying to make me happy, so I wanted to wait. But I had been talking to Teddy and she ensured me that you weren't just trying to please me. She told me that if you said you wanted this, that you really had thought it through. So she kinda helped me out and gave me this idea of surprising you."

"That bitch." The blonde laughed. "She had me thinking the whole time that it was the wrong time. That I just needed to slow down and enjoy life."

"Yeah.. That's because I told her to say that." Callie shrugged.

"You are really serious? You really want this.. Cause if you're not ready Callie I understand. Like I told you the other day at Joes. I'll wait.. I really will. I don't want you to do this just to make me happy."

"Arizona.." Callie said, placing her finger over her wife's mouth. "I've thought about this for three months now. I've weighed our options time and time again with myself.. Teddy and Addison." She said, cupping her wife's cheek. "I want this baby. Besides its not like we'll get pregnant right away. Addie said it takes months before we can try with the fertility shots and all."

"You really do?" The blonde asked with tears in her eyes.

"I do." She said, leaning in for a kiss. "Merry Christmas, Arizona."

"Merry Christmas, Calliope." She smiled, kissing red lips.

"Ya know.. we have roughy three hours before anyone arrives... what do you say we go practice a little baby making before your parents come over and help with dinner?" She asked, pecking her wife's pink lips again.

Nodding into the kiss. "Mmhmm.." Arizona moaned, quickly jumping from the floor and pulling her wife up the stairs to their bedroom to show her just how much she appreciated her Christmas present.
