You ready to see how Nana's been doing?

Chapter 63

After a little love making, two quick showers and a fresh change of clothes thanks to her lovely wife, Callie strolled over to the main house of her parents property hand in hand with Arizona. The blonde making small talk the whole way over to keep the brunette at ease. That was one of the many things Callie loved about her wife. Arizona would always knew what she needed without having to voice it.

Giving the blonde a reassuring smile, Callie entered the house and went in search to see if her parents had left for work yet. She hadn't seen them since her wedding day back in September and to be honest with herself she had really been missing them lately. Walking into the kitchen, they saw that someone had already made breakfast. "Mom? Daddy?" Callie said, looking around in the dinning room area.

Hearing the French doors open in the dinning room, Callie looked up. "Ahh, Calliope, Arizona. There are my girls." Carlos said, entering back into the house. "I thought you said Arizona was staying behind in Seattle?" He said, hugging his daughter and then his daughter in law. "Your mother and I was just enjoying breakfast out on the veranda. Would you both like to join us?" He asked, refilling two coffee cups.

"Well, I thought so too.." She looked at the blonde not really knowing what to say to her father as to why her wife shown up. She knew there was a handful of reasons to why Arizona was there her Nana and their fight being two of them.

"I couldn't stay away from her that long, so I flew in late last night to surprise her." Arizona chimed before Callie had a chance to answer.

Smiling when Arizona wrapped an arm around her in a hug, she sighed into the embrace."You hungry?" She asked her wife.

"Yeah, I could eat." Arizona answered before whispering in her wife's ear. "Even though I've already at my breakfast." She said, kissing her ear.

Watching his daughters face blush, Carlos cleared his throat to breakup the sweet moment before it became too heated. He knew when those two started acting like they were the only ones in the world it was hard to break them up. "Mija, I went upstairs to your room to get you to come down and enjoy breakfast with your mother and I, but you weren't in there and I didn't notice your bags." He said, watching the two women fill their plates with bacon, eggs and toast.

"Ahh, no. The airport lost my luggage and Aria and I went out for a little while last night and I decided to stay in the guest house last when I got back." Callie said, taking a bite of her bacon as she watched the blonde fill up two glasses of orange juice.

"Have you talked to your grandmother yet? She didn't mention you stopping by when I talked to her this morning." He said, following the women outside to join his wife.

"Mija, Arizona." It's so good to see you both." Lucia jumped from her seat and hugged both girls. Callie was somewhat glad her mother greeted them before she has a chance to answer her father because she knew he would scold her for being so childish about not seeing his mother.

"Easy Mami." Callie laughed when her mother came close to causing her drop the glass of juice. "I've really missed you guys." She said placing her plate and glass done on the table to properly hug her mother.

"We've missed you too sweetheart." Her mother said, placing a kiss on her daughters cheek. "So tell me. How was your honeymoon? Oh, how has married life been treating you?" She said, sitting back down. "Did you get your Christmas gifts we sent? Gosh tell me everything that has been going on with you two, it feels like it's been forever since we've caught up." Lucia said, patting her daughter on the leg.

"Whoa." Callie held up her hand. "Slow down mom." She laughed.

"First off." Arizona said, swatting her wife's shoulders. "Our honeymoon was outstanding and we can't thank you enough for the trip." She smiled at her in-laws. She was thankful that Carlos hadn't spilled anything about their stalker miss in Paris. "We saw the Mona Lisa and Calliope took my picture standing beside it." She laughed. That was on of Arizona's favorite things that they did in Paris. She had always dreamed of seeing the painting in person since she was a little girl learning about it in school.

"Oh, I took Arizona to do the love lock bridge and she bough us matching bracelets. See?" Callie held up her wrist to show her mother her teal 'Hers' homemade bracelet.

"That's just too cute." Her mother said, looking at the braided bracelet. "Your father and I did the bridge a few years ago."

"Really? I wish we would have known that." Arizona said, taking a bite of her eggs. "We could have put out locks beside theirs." She told her wife.

"I didn't know." Callie shrugged, looking back to her mother. "Married life has been good to us." She said, patting her wife's leg. "We've had our.. moments, I guess you can say." She said as Arizona rested her hand on top of her wife's on her leg.

"Everyone has those dear." Lucia said, sipping her coffee.

"And to answer your last question, yes we received the gifts, mom. You guys didn't have to get us anything. But we appreciate it, thank you."

"Very much so." Arizona said before swallowing a mouthful of bacon. "I've already made Callie start packing our study up downstairs. I need my theatre now." She joked, wiping her mouth. Lucia and Carlos knew that Arizona and Callie loved the home theatre room in their house and so for Christmas they had purchased items and made arrangements for the construction of a theatre room in the newlyweds house.

"Yeah, she's making me move our study."

"I'm helping too. I'm not making you do all the work." Arizona protested.

"Sitting on the love seat barking orders isn't much help." Callie teased, squeezing her blondes knee.

"That was only one time and you know it. I wasn't feeling well." She pouted.

"Well.. I've only worked on it one day." Callie laughed, leaning over and kissing her wife's cheek. "You do realize that once everyone finds out bout the theatre we will never have alone time again?"

"Yes we will too." Arizona said, drinking her juice. "Calliope... Calliope, baby." She said, shaking her head at her wife. "You pretend to be such a badass but I really know you're just a fun and lovable woman who can't tell someone to leave, but me.. I don't care to tell then get to steppin." She said, clicking her tongue and gesturing her thumb over her shoulder. "Especially when I need some attention from my ever so gorgeous wife." She winked.

"That's mean." The brunette laughed, shaking her head. She knew Arizona had no problems throwing their friends out because it's been done more than a handful of times. Callie on the other hand wouldn't let their friends hanging out at the house stop her from getting what she wanted from her wife. "But you do know now, that I'll have to host a football game or two now. You know I can't have that big theatre and not have everyone over to watch my beloved WVU play ball."

"I know baby, you love you're mountaineers." Arizona said, kissing her on the cheek.

"I really do. Oooh maybe we can burn a couch or two too." They bantered, not paying attention to Callie's parents as they watched the newlyweds. You would have thought that they had been lovers and best friends since childhood with the way

they playfully teased and talked to each other.

"I don't think so, I kinda like our furniture." Arizona laughed while finishing her meal.

"Calliope." Carlos said, wiping his mouth with his napkin. "Your mother and I both have to be in the office today, would you mind taking your grandmother to her doctors appointment? I'd much rather family do take her than the home nurse."

"Oh.." She was caught off guard with the question. She hadn't even seen her grandma yet let alone think about taking her anywhere. "Uhh.. yeah, sure daddy. I'll take Nana." She said, feeling Arizona place a comforting hand on her back, letting her know she wasn't alone.

"Perfect, I'll call the nurse and tell her she's not needed today. Just keep an extra close eye on her, she still a little weak." He said, standing from his chair as does Lucia. "Her appointment is at one o'clock. I'll text you the directions to Dr. Syners office." He said, straightening his tie. "I'll see you ladies this evening?" He asked them.

"Yeah, we're here till probably Saturday." Arizona said, seeing Callie go quiet while playing with her silverware.

"Mija, let me know what they say about your grandmother." He said, bending down and kissing her on top of the head before doing the same to Arizona.

"I will daddy."

"Bye girls." Lucia said, following her husband back to the house to pick up her briefcase and be on her way.

After a few silent moments, Arizona scooted her chair closer to her wife. "What are you thinking about baby?" She asked, leaning over and draped her arm across her wife's shoulder.

Looking at her wife, Callie gave the blonde a soft smile. "I'm just thinking about how glad you're here with me." She said resting here forehead on her wife's temple. "That I can do this as long as you're by my side." She sighed. "I'm sorry I didn't realize that yesterday."

"It's okay." The blonde turned and hugged her wife. "I'll let it slide this time and chalk it up to a brain fart." She said, causing Callie to laugh into her shoulder.

"I love you." She mumbled and kissed the blondes collarbone.

"I like you too." She giggled when she felt Callie playfully squeeze her sides. "I love you too." She said, kissing the side of Her wife's head. "I love you." She said, peppering her face with kisses and breathing an I love you in between every one. Getting the smile she had been wanting to see when she pulled back.

"Well." Callie said taking a deep breath. "Shall we?" She asked, standing from her seat, feeling Arizona slide her hand in hers as they made it back into the house to go see her grandmother.

Walking upstairs to Maria's temporary room, Callie nervously knocked on the closed door. Hearing a faint 'come in', she took a deep breath and opened the door to entered the room. "Nana?" Callie said looking towards the empty bed. Glancing at her wife, she began to worry when she didn't see her grandmother in the room. "Grandma?" She said louder.

"Calliope?" Maria said, sitting up in the floor where she was at by the other side of the bed. "Is that really you?"

"Nana.."

"Maria?"

They rushed to her. "Did you fall? Are you okay?" Callie asked, checking her grandmother over, seeing the older woman's bandaged leg.

"I'm fine." Maria grumbled reaching for the remote to the TV that had fell under her bed.

"What are you doing?" Arizona asked, grabbing the remote from under the bed and placing it back on the the nightstand. "Shouldn't you be in bed?"

"Oh don't start that stuff with me missy. I can do things for myself." She looked at Arizona. "I've been sick, I'm not handicapped. Everyone around here acts like I can't do for myself anymore." She said agitated. Callie was shocked at the site of her grandmother. All Aria and Lucia kept prattling on and on about is how weak and tired Maria looked, but to Callie she looked exactly like the woman she knew all her life but with a bum leg.

"At least let me help you from the floor." Callie said, helping her Nana off the cold wood floor.

"Shouldn't you be wearing your oxygen mask?" Arizona asked. "They said you had to use it most of the day and while you sleep."

"Depends is the nurse coming in today?" Maria asked as her granddaughter helped situate her in the bed again.

"No." Callie said, confused. "Daddy said he was going to call her and tell her not to come in today because we were here. I'm going to take you to your doctors appointment in a little while."

"Then no, I don't need my oxygen." She said as Arizona sat down on the bench at the foot of her bed and watched on while Callie scooted in under the covers beside her nana.

"Nana, you're okay?" Callie said with tears in her eyes as she caressed the elders hair. "They told us you were bad off."

"I wasn't doing so great after my fall, but you know me. I'm not letting a little phenomenon keep me down for long. Even though everyone around her hasn't done anything but baby my lately." She said, as Callie pulled her into a big hug and cried.

"They told me you were bad off Nana." She said, into her neck. "I was so scared I was going to lose you."

"Aww sweetie, I was pretty bad there for a little while honey." Maria soothed her granddaughter. "But I'm getting better and better every day. Even though your father, mother and sister think I'm so fragile I'm going to break if I get out of bed on my own." She huffed.

Watching her wife cry as she held her grandma tight, broke Arizona's heart. Even though Maria looked perfectly fine, sans her leg, she couldn't stand seeing her wife so upset.

"You know, I really should kick you out of my bed." Maria laughed.

"Why?" Callie pulled back and whipped her eyes.

"Because you thought I had one foot in the grave and another on a banana peel and you didn't come visit me!" She glared.

"I was so scared." She said sadly looking up to her grandma as she felt the blonde place her hand on her covered leg.

"It's true." Arizona said, reminding them both she was still in the room. "She's been kinda a loose canon lately." She joked.

"I have not been that bad! Have I?"

"Yeah... a little bit you have." Arizona chuckled.

"Calliope, have you been a bear to your new wife?" Nana asked with a pointed stair.

"No, she's.."

"Aaaah..." She pointed at Arizona to get her to hush. "I asked her." She said looking back at the brunette. "Have you?"

Looking up at her wife, Callie nodded with fresh tears in her eyes. "I have." She said, dropping her head. She just couldn't look at either one of them right now. If she was being truthful, she wasn't sure if it was her grandmother it her fight with Arizona that caused the list tears in the last few days.

"Stop.." Arizona said softly, climbing on the bed in front of her wife, pulling Callie up in an intimate hug. She didn't care that Maria was sitting with then right now, she was going to hold her wife. "It's understandable. We weren't here, you didn't know exactly what was going on with her and you didn't know how to handle what they were telling you. Stop beating yourself up okay." She said, holding her wife's head to her chest.

"Okay.."

"What didn't you at least call and talk to me? They didn't tell you I lost my voice did they?" Maria joked, trying to get her Calliope to smile.

"I didn't think about that." Callie shrugged, sitting up from her wife's embrace. "I'm sorry I didn't come sooner Nana." She said turning back towards the older woman. I was just so scared that something would happen to you. And that you'd be gone before I had the chance to tell you..." She hesitated, grabbing her wife's hand, she wasn't sure how Arizona would feel about this since they haven't had a chance to talk since the other day, but she has to say it. She wanted her wife to know that she was really all in this. She was tired of all the fighting back and forth especially seeing that they both really wanted this. "Arizona and I are going to try to have a baby."

"You are?" Maria's eyes lite up as she reached for Arizona's hand.

To say that Arizona was shocked that her wife told Maria they were going to try for a baby was an understatement, because they both agreed they didn't want anyone to know except for Teddy and of course Addison. And the only reason they were telling Addison was because she was the one they trusted to help them along in their journey. But hearing those words from her wife's mouth kind of confused the blonde. Not that she was upset for Callie telling Maria, she didn't mind at all because she knew the older woman would be just as excited as she is.. or was. They've had many ups and downs about this subject, and finally after Christmas they were all ups until the other day in Callie's office. After that, Arizona really thought that this just wasn't in the cards for them, especially right now. But hearing her wife tell her grandmother they were going to try, sparked new butterflies in her stomach at the news and she wanted to be over the moon excited, but they needed to talk about it before she hopped on board again.

"Yeah we are, but we're goin to keep it low key for now.. So no telling anyone and no more getting sick again okay?" Callie smiled, holding her Nana's hand.

"Really?" Arizona whispered, not meeting her wife's eyes.

Turning towards the blonde, Callie's smile dropped when she saw her wife with her head down. Tugging on her wife's hand to get her to look up at her to no avail, Callie dropping her wife's hand and cupped the blondes face to get her attention. "Yes. Sweetheart." She said, ducking her head to get Arizona's undivided attention. "But we'll talk about it later okay?" She asked, leaning on and kissing her forehead. "I promise."

"Kay." Arizona replied in a whisper.

During their little banter back and forth Maria couldn't help notice something. "What's been going on between you two? I can tell something is a little off and you two are never off."

"I told you Nana, I've been a bitch lately. But I didn't mean it." Callie whispered still looking at her wife, giving her a shy smile to let her know she was serious about this. "I said some things about having a baby to her the other day out of anger that I'm ashamed of and we've really not had a chance to talk about it yet."

"I know you didn't Callie..." Arizona said, squeezing her hand. "It's oka.."

"No." Callie cut her off. "What I did.. is not okay, Arizona.. it's never okay. But I'll make it better, I promise. We'll talk later tonight." She cupped her wife's face. "But right now." She said looking at her grandma. "We need to get you ready for a day out with us."

"Okay, I'll only cooperate if we take Betty."

"Nana, you just got over pneumonia. If Papi found out I took you out in the T-bird he'd have my head." Callie protested.

"Since when have you been afraid of your father?"

"Nana.." Callie laughed.

"Then you can stay here. My new favorite granddaughter will take me." Maria said, pulling Arizona over to do beside her. "Right?"

"Absolutely right." Arizona smiled. "I'd do anything for you Nana, screw what everyone thinks. If you want to ride with the top down, then we'll turn the radio up and let the wind blow through our hair. We'll get reckless." She grinned.

"Whoa..." Callie said, stopping the conversation. "Dial it back a little there wife. It sounds like you're gonna take my Abuela out and pick up chicks."

"So what if she is?" Maria questioned.

"Yea, so what if I am?" Arizona playfully glared.

"I.. you.. she.." Callie Stuttered, at a loss for words at these two important women in her life. "You know what, lets just worry about getting you to the doctor so I can see for myself that you're heathy as a horse before I take you two cruising for hot babes."

"I'm not looking for a hot babe, I have a gorgeous goddess already." Arizona smiled. "I'm just looking for a one night stand." She teased her wife. "Oww.." She said, after Maria slap her in the back of the head. "What was that for?"

"Your one night stand is right in front of you." Maria said, holding her arms out like she should be Arizona's obvious choice. "Callie give us a few."

"Nana!" Callie laughed. "Stop hitting on my wife."

"Sorry Maria. Cougars aren't really my thing." She shrugged.

"You can't help a lady for trying right."

"Definitely." She laughed. "But, Cal's right, we have to get you checked out to make sure your on the right track. Because we need you to stick around to meet your name sake." Arizona smiled causing Callie's eyes to widen in shock. The brunette had never thought about names before for their baby and she was very surprised that her wife had which showed her that Arizona really had been thinking about this for a long time.

"Really?" Callie whispered, tears brimming her eyes at her wife's statement.

"Really." She said, taking her wife's free hand. "If we have a girl, she needs a strong name to live up to, don't you think?"

"Yea.. Yes." She smiled. She couldn't believe how Arizona seemed amazed her every single day.

"And what if it's a boy?" Maria questioned.

"I don't know.. Mario I guess?" The blonde shrugged with a laugh.

"Umm.. that ones up for debate." Callie laughed. "But you truly are something else Arizona Robbins." She said, brushing her wife's hair behind her ear. "I love you so much." She said, leaning over and kissing her wife tenderly.

"I love you too, baby." Arizona hummed, deepening the kiss.

"Okay okay. I've seen enough face sucking for a while. How about letting my out if this bed before you two take advantage of each other while I'm still in it." Maria said, throwing the blanket off of her. "Let's get this show on the road you two..." She said, slowly standing from the bed and using a cane to walk slowly to the closet where her clothes currently were hanging. She was still having a little trouble getting around on her bad leg, but it was also improving every day. "..because you're taking me for a drive up the coast before I'm banished back to this room like a prisoner."

"Yes, Ma'am." Callie said pecking her wife's lips one more time before they helped Maria get dressed for their day out.

Where's all my peeps at? This has died down a lot since the holidays. I hope everyone's doing okay!

See ya Thursday! :)
