Hey guys... I have nothing to say.. its just one of those days!

Chapter 67

An hour after going to lunch the two were back in the blondes office going through the last round of interviews for the new hire at their clinic. Arizona had already went through a round of interviews two weeks prior. Narrowing down the choice between two Peds doctors. After interviewing the first interested doctor, Dr. Taylor, they moved on to the last one. Arizona's number one choice, but she was wanting Callie's opinion of the two doctors before she hired one.

After several questions with the latest doctor "So, Doctor Boswell." Callie said, flipping through the woman's resume, looking up and smiled at the young doctor that was taking small glances at her wife. Clearing her throat. "I know Dr. Robbins has already asked you this in your last interview, but I'd like to hear your thoughts. How do you describe your work pace?"

"Well, Dr. Torres." Lauren said, giving her best smile to both of the doctors. "I tend to work at a steady pace, but usually complete work thoroughly in advance." She said, looking the blonde doctor up and down. All she could think about was what she would look like outta those scrubs.

Lauren's stairs didn't go unnoticed by either Doctor. "Working with kids all day everyday can sometimes be draining and stressful. How do you handle that pressure?" Callie asked, feeling Arizona tense beside her.

Callie's next question broke her out of her daze. "I am the kind of person who usually stays calm under pressure, and handles stress fairly easily. But as you know, there are times when you get overwhelmed, so I prioritizing my responsibilities. I have a clear idea of what needs to be done when, and that has helped me effectively manage pressure on the job."

"Why should we pick you?" Arizona asked, shifting in her seat beside her wife.

"Well." Lauren laughed. "I'm sure if you asked my friends that question they would say you should hire me because I have the skills outlined in the job description and I bring five plus years of expertise to this position. Words they've used to describe me are hard working, professional, trusted and a team player." She smiled, even adding a wink to the blonde. Not going unnoticed again by Callie.

The brunette was getting a weird vibe from this woman and she felt like her wife was too, but if the blonde really was feeling it also, she didn't understand why she was Arizona's top pick for the position. One thing Callie did know is that she didn't like it at all.

"So, Dr. Boswell." Callie said, veering the subject in a different direction to get a feel for this woman. "How did you hear about our clinic?" She asked.

"Oh, I'm a big fan of Dr. Robbins work. I heard about her when she had her grand opening for the clinic. I saw what adversities she had came through before taking it over and I've just been enamored by her ever since." Boswell said, looking starry eyed at the blonde. "Her career that is." Getting the answer she expected, Callie wrote a few notes down on her resume and passed it to her wife. Receiving a nod, Callie was shocked that she still thought Lauren was still the best for the job. Was Arizona really not seeing what this woman was all about?

A knock on the door, pulled all their attention away from the interview. "Come in." Arizona said, seeing Teddy poke her head through the door.

"Dr. Robbins, you have a call on line three."

Teddy informed her.

"Can you take a message?" She asked her friend.

"I think you want to take this call." Teddy said.

"Oh, okay. Come in Teddy." Arizona waved her further in. "Dr. Boswell this is Teddy Altman. She is our resident RN and supervisor of this place. She is also my right hand." She smiled, guiding the darker blonde to take her seat.

"Teddy this is Dr. Boswell, she's interviewing for the new doctor position."

"Nice to meet you Dr. Boswell." She smiled and shook the woman's hand before taking her seat.

"I'll be back." She whispered to her wife and best friend before leaving. "Dr. Boswell if you'll excuse me for a second." She nodded, not feeling a unfamiliar set of eyes on her as well as Lauren not feeling two sets of eyes on her.

"Did you see that?" Callie whispered to her friend as her wife shut the door. She wanted to make sure she wasn't just seeing things before se turned into a jealous wife.

"Yep." Teddy replied back as Lauren turned back around with a huge smile on her face.

Clearing her throat, "Dr. Boswell, if you don't mind we'd like to ask you a few more questions." Callie said after her wife left. She was going to see if she could get this woman to crack.

"No, go right ahead Dr."

"Teddy do you have anything you'd like to ask?" Callie asked.

Nodding, "We work well as a team here and know each other's strengths and weaknesses. How well do you work with others?"

"I'd define myself as a people person, I feel that I do my best work and am more motivated when others are around."

"What would you say... motivates you?" Callie asked.

"Like I said, I'm a people person and I love children. And I love making their eyes light up. It just warms my sole." She grinned. "Plus, I like the owner, really like her. She's cute, funny and very attractive. I think we could get along very well together." She confessed, not knowing Callie was a part owner of the practice as well. When Arizona had introduced them she only said she was the surgeon of the clinic.

"Mmhmm.. It should always be about the tiny humans." Callie agreed, shaking her head because her wife had rubbed off on her too much. "But.." She sighed. "The eye candy here isn't too bad either." She winked, hoping that would get the woman talking.

"Not bad at all." Teddy chimed in seeing where Callie was going with this. She had been feeling the same vibe as the brunette.

"I...ahh.. yeah." Lauren smiled.

"Im going to be honest. Dr. Robbins is the whole reason I took the job." Teddy added.

"Oh yeah, me too." Callie agreed. "I mean seriously? Getting to work beside that all day AND get paid." Callie smirked, knowing that Lauren had no clue they were a couple, let alone married. "Win win, am I right?"

"Definitely." Teddy agreed, hoping that it would get Lauren talking.

"Between you and I, she's the only reason I'm here. She's hot and I wouldn't mind seeing her outta those scrubs." She winked. "That ass doesn't quit."

"It sure doesn't." Callie agreed yet again.

"So, Dr. Boswell, this clinic is very close to my heart and I take my job and our employees very seriously. I would hope to think you do also." Teddy said to the blonde doctor.

"Oh yes. I'd do anything to be able to work along side of her." She joked, still playing along with the two interviewers.

"Were you.. properly introduced to Dr. Torres here?" She asked her.

"Yes, Dr. Robbins said that she was the Peds surgeon." Boswell noted.

"She is.. She is." Teddy said, crossing her legs and relaxing back in the chair. "But did you know she was also just as much of an owner of this clinic as her wife.. Dr. Robbins?" Teddy about snickered when she saw Lauren become wide eyed.

"You've said exactly what I needed to hear Dr. Boswell." Anger starting to rise up in Callie. "I'm not sure of the wool you pulled over my wife's eyes or if you were completely professional, but I have seen all I needed to see here. You're completely smitten with my wife."

"I.. I.. no, I'm just here for the job, I only said those things to get in your good graces. I'm completely professional." She countered.

"Oh yeah.. yeah like I really believe that." Callie said, standing from her seat. "And the longing looks you were giving her as soon as you walked through that door were what? All in my head?"

"Dr. Torres." She said, offended. "I did no such thing." Lauren said, standing from her chair. "And I won't stand here and let you accuse me of such."

"Well what was with you staring a hole through her backside?" Teddy question.

"You know what. I don't need to know why." Callie said walking from behind the desk. "I think we're done here."

"No, I don't think so, I'll leave when Dr. Robbins tells me to leave." Lauren sassed.

"Teddy?" Callie said angrily.

"Got it." She said quickly opening the door.

"You're not coming in my place of business and fawning all over MY wife in front of my face. So I'll give you one more chance to leave on your own accord Dr. Boswell, before I escort you out and make sure you'll never be able to work in this city or the state of Washington as a pediatrician ever again." Callie growled at the mindless woman.

"If I were you, I'd get to stepping." Teddy told her from the door.

"This is ridiculous, I'll leave when I'm good and ready. Who the hell do you two think you ar... Oww.." She yelped when Callie grabbed her upper arm. "Let go of me, you bitch." She growled, trying to jerk out of the Latinas hold.

"I'm sorry Dr. Slutwell, but your services aren't welcome here." Callie said, pulling her through the door of Arizona's office and escorting her to the back door of her practice. She didn't want her wife seeing this at the moment.

"You can't talk to me like that." She said, "This is assault." She said angrily as Callie shoved her out of the back door.

"I just did and I suggest if you were to ever see my wife or myself again out in public, you better turn and run because if I see you again I will hand your ass to you." Callie spat.

"We'll let you know if you have to job within a few days." Teddy yelled just as Callie slammed the door in the woman's face.

"Damn that felt good." Callie breathed leaning up against the door. "Who the hell does she think she is? And what the hell? Arizona said she was her top pick for the job. What a fucking psycho."

"That was her choice? What the fuck did she see in that bitch?" Teddy said, walking back into Arizona's office with Callie right behind her.

"I don't know." Callie laughed. "Oh my god." She said flopping down in the desk chair.

"What?"

"I was jealous. That was like the first time I've been majorly jealous of someone checking Arizona out. Usually I get a kick out of it because she's hot and she's mine, but with Lauren. I didn't like her eyes on Arizona at all, there's something about her I didn't like."

"I agree." Teddy said, sitting down beside Callie. "Do you think she'll try to pull something now? Because you did basically drag her out of the office."

"Like what? Get me for assault or something?" Callie laughed.

"Well, yeah. She seems like the type."

"She better not if she knows what's good for her, but I could see her doing it too." Callie admitted.

"Hey." Arizona said, poking her head through the door, expecting to see all three women. "What happened to Lauren?" She said, making her way into her office.

"Oh, um." Callie mumbled. "She said didn't think this was the right place for her after I told her the work schedule." She shrugged her shoulders. "She wasn't too happy about being on call during the weekends, so she declined."

"Yeah, such a shame too. I really thought she'd be a great asset to us." Teddy played along. "Ya win some ya lose some." She said standing from her seat. "Nice woman though, such a shame." She said leaving the office.

"We'll that sucks. I really thought she wanted this. She was even flirting a little this time and last time to get on my good side." Arizona said, sitting down next to her wife.

"Oh really? I didn't notice.." Callie shrugged. "I guess we'll call Dr. Taylor and let him know the position is his if he wants it."

"Yeah. I'll have Teddy give him a call in a day or two, make him sweat it out a bit." She chuckled, leaning into her wife. "I'm so tired, Calliope."

"Awe, I know baby." Callie said, wrapping her arm around her wife. Arizona could go from chipper and energetic to tired and listless in a matter of minutes since starting her fertility shots. "How about I see some of your patients and you rest for a little bit, huh?"

"No honey, this is your day off." She said, sitting back up. She was so grateful for her wife, but she didn't want her waisting her day off on her.

"But you need rest. You're tired, babe. I get days off during the week sometimes and you don't, let me help you. We're in this together. When we actually get you pregnant, you're going to beg me to do it." She laughed kissing her wife's forehead again. "Come on." She said, standing from her seat and leading her wife to the couch in the corner of the room. "Lay down and catch a little shut eye." She said, as Arizona laid down on the leathered sofa. Kneeling down by her wife. "I'll wake you in a little bit." She said, spreading the blanket over her wife. "Get some rest my sweet." She said kissing pink lips. "Love you so much babe."

"I love you too Calliope." She said, caressing her wife's face. "You're too good to me, you know that?" Arizona smiled and kissed her wife's hand.

"Nothing's too good for you Mi Amor." She said, caressing her wife's hip "What was your phone call about? Anything important?"

"Oh yeah. I almost forgot." Arizona said. "It was the Carter Maddison Foundation." She said, nervously. She knew he wife may not be happy with what they wanted.

"The Carter Maddison... THE Carter Maddison? Like the Carter Maddison award, Carter Maddison?" Callie asked her wife, surprised they would be contacting her.

"The very one."

"What.. what did they want you for? Not.. Not that you're not great, but I thought that was only for surgeons?"

"Typically it is, but they really like me for some reason." She smiled.

"That's because you're amazing at what you do." Callie smiled, brushing the hair out of her wife's face.

"They uh.. they want me to go to Africa..."

"Stop.." The brunette told her wife. "Stop talking, you're tired remember?" She smiled. She didn't want to hear about her possibly leaving the country. Not now, not ever. "Just get some reset baby. I'll be back in a little while and we'll talk about it then." She winked.

"Kay. Love?" Arizona yawned, trying to decipher her wife's mood after her revelation.

"Always love, sweet cheeks." She said, leaning down to kiss her wife's face. "Now I'm not telling you again." She said smacking her wife's butt. "Sleep, or no sex for you tonight."

"Shh.." She teased faking sleep. "Arizona sleeping." She said, closing her eyes and letting out a fake snore.

"You're such a moron." Callie laughed, leaving the room and making a b-line for Teddy. Walking back through the clinic, she searched for her. Coming up empty every room she looked, Callie decided to check out back in the alley. Most times she felt fine going into the alley, but there still were other times, far and few between that it creeped her out.

"Teddy?" Callie said poking her head outside of the door. "Teddy?" She said louder stepping out of the clinic into the back alley. Closing the door, she yelped out in surprise. "Goddamn it." She said, placing her hand over her heart. "You scared the shit outta me." She said, seeing Teddy hiding behind the door. "What are you doing out here. It's freezi... are you.. are you smoking?" Callie said pulling the cigarette out of her friends hand.

"Hey..." She exclaimed. She just needed a few minutes to herself right now. "I really needed that."

"You smoke?" Callie asked. Pulling the pack of Marlboro's from Teddy's bra.

"Hey. I'm going to tell Arizona you fondled me." She said, trying to grab the pack back.

"I'm going to tell Arizona you smoke." Callie countered. "Tell me you don't do this every day Teds?"

"I don't. Only when I'm stressed or nervous. It's just a bad habit I picked up after Tim died. Can I please have one more." She said looking up at Callie.

"What's wrong Teddy? Talk to me." She said, crossing her arms to stem off the cold air.

"You promise you won't tell Arizona?" Teddy asked, looking up to her sadly.

"I.. well, it depends. If you're going to have me lying to my wife, I can't promise that." The brunette said.

"No, nothing like that. I just want to be the one to tell her."

"Okay, then I promise. I won't say anything." She told her friend. "Wait.. Teddy is something wrong with you? Are you sick?" Callie asked. "You acted fine a little while ago, what's changed?"

"No.. no. It's nothing like that." She said, taking the pack of Marlboros back from Callie. Pulling out a cancer stick, she lite it up before talking again. "Where is she?" She asked, looking towards the street.

"She's in her office laying down. I'm going to see her patients for a bit, she's tired." Callie answered.

Pulling something from her pocket, she slipped it on. "Henry proposed last night." She said, holding up her left hand to show Callie her ring.

"What?" Callie gasped, holding her friends hand to examine the ring. "It's beautiful. Why hasn't Arizona told me?"

"She doesn't know."

"This is what you're nervous about?" She asked confused. "She'll be extremely excited for you Teds. How did she not noticed this on your finger already?"

Nodding. "I took it off this morning so she wouldn't see it." She said, her eyes watering.

"Why? What's wrong Teddy? Do you want to marry Henry?"

"I do. I love him. Really love him." The blonde smiled, through the tears.

"Then why the tears sweetie?" Callie asked, drying Teddy's face. "Why haven't you told Arizona. She'll be so excited." She smiled.

"I know.. I know she'll be excited, Callie. We've talked about it a few times before."

"So why haven't you told her? You're her best friend. She'll die if she ever finds out that I knew before her." Callie laughed.

"I'm scared."

"Why?" Callie couldn't think of a single reason as to why she should be scared to tell her wife she was getting married.

"It's stupid, but Arizona's like my sister."

"You are sisters, Teddy. You two are just like Aria and myself. And I consider you my sister in law, you know.. the one person who is your family but you wouldn't pick them to be.." Callie teased. "That's why I put up with you two together."

"Ha ha, Cal." She said, shoving the Latina. "It's just that Arizona, Barb and Daniel are more my family than my family. And I'm scared that when I tell them that I'm marrying Henry, that they won't feel the same about me."

"Why do you feel that way? Because you and Tim dated?" Callie asked, trying to see Teddy's side.

"Yeah." She nodded. "I just feel like they won't welcome me to the family anymore. I don't want them to feel like I'm moving on from Tim and I don't want them to move on from me."

"Teddy, they don't expect you to not move on with your life. Tim's been gone almost three years now. They will be excited for you." Callie soothed. "From what I've been told, you and Arizona were friends long before you and Tim dated. Marrying Henry isn't going to change your relationship with her or Barbara and Daniel. You're always going to be Arizona's sister and their second daughter, no matter what." Nodding, Teddy threw her cigarette down and stomped it out. "Barb and Daniel are amazing people and have always been welcoming of your relationship with Henry. Don't ever doubt that."

"Yeah. You're right. They're just the only family I have. I mean.. I have my parents, but I don't talk to them much at all." She admitted. "Sometimes you just let your mind wonder to the worse case scenario."

"Yeah. Ask Arizona, I'm a pro at that."

Callie laughed. "I'm happy for you Teds." She said, hugging her friend. "Everyone else will be too."

"Yeah, you're right. Thanks Callie." She returned the embrace. "I guess we should go in and get to work." She laughed.

"Yeah." Callie smiled, pulling the pack of cigarettes out of Teddy's hand. "Now that you know nothing changes, we can get rid of these." She said, tossing them in the dumpster. "And if I ever see you smoking again, I will kick your ass."

Laughing, "What is it with you and wanting to kick people's ass today?" Teddy said, remembering when Callie had told Lauren basically the same thing a little while ago.

"What can I say.. that bitch put me in a mood." She laughed, opening the door to the clinic. "Wait." She said, shutting the door back. "Did you know that the Carter Maddison Foundation wants Arizona to go to Africa?"

"I knew it was them on the phone, but Africa? What the hell for?"

"I don't know.."

"Well what did she say?" Teddy asked.

"Nothing really, just that they had called and wanted her to go to Africa. I told her to rest and we'd talk about it later. She can't go to Africa Teddy. We're in the middle of trying for a baby."

"Did she accept?"

"I don't know.. I don't want her going especially if it's for a long period of time, but I can't tell her not to go. It's not right." Callie said.

"What are you going to do if she did accept?"

"I.. I'm." Callie said, rubbing her face. "Be a supportive wife I guess?" She sighed. Silently praying it wasn't for a long period of time.

"Well, let's get through these patients so you and I both can have a talk with her." Teddy said, following Callie back into the clinic.

I'm not really a fan of this chapter, but it is what it is. This story just feels stale and blah to me for some reason, right now. Ugh! But no worries, it happens from time to time.

3 DAYS! 11B better bring it!
