Bit of a short chapter, but I got that far and I wasn't sure how to continue. Oh well. Enjoy the chapter!
"Auntie Anna!" two little voices called out. A boy and a girl of about six ran over to where Anna stood in the doorway and threw their arms around her. "Read us a story, read us a story," they begged. Anna knelt down on the ground and hugged the two children.
"What story do you want to hear tonight?" Anna asked, smiling.
"Tell us the story of what happened when Auntie Elsa became queen," Bjorn said eagerly.
"I want to hear the story of Cinderella," Freya declared.
Just then Bjorn pointed behind Anna. "Olaf!" he squealed.
"Olaf!" Freya echoed excitedly, running over and giving Olaf a big hug. Olaf patted the little girl on the back.
"What's the story of Cinderella?" he asked, having heard the end of Freya's sentence.
"It's a fairy tale about a little girl named Cinderella," Anna explained as she stood up. "Why don't we read that tonight?"
Bjorn pouted. "Wanna hear about Auntie Elsa."
Their nanny, Guinevere spoke up. "Prince Bjorn, you chose yesterday's story. Perhaps we will hear the story you want to hear tomorrow."
'That's a good idea, Guinevere," Anna agreed. Freya tugged at Anna's skirts. She looked down at the little girl, who held up a book to her.
"Read story," she demanded.
"Okay," Anna laughed. "Do you want to join us, Olaf?"
The twins lay down on their beds, while Anna sat down on a chair between them. Olaf joined Bjorn on his bed. Guinevere tidied up the nursery as Anna began.
"Once upon a time there lived a young girl known by all as Cinderella…" By the time the story was over the twins and Olaf had fallen asleep. Anna quietly closed the book and tiptoed over to the shelf where the book belonged. She then tiptoed back over to Freya's bed where she gently kissed her forehead and then the same to Bjorn. She carefully picked up Olaf so as not to wake Bjorn and carried him out of the room.
Anna plopped Olaf down on the ground, where he promptly woke up. "How did the story end?" Olaf asked.
"The prince found Cinderella and they got married and lived happily ever after," Anna replied.
"How are Freya and Bjorn?" Elsa asked her sister as she joined her in the sitting room once she had finished with some paperwork.
"They're well and they're fast asleep," Anna replied.
"I think that tomorrow we need to talk to our guests. Since they are from Middle Earth, just like Eärendil and that Sauron person, maybe they can tell us more about them, as well as who Manwë and Varda are," Elsa said.
"Good idea," Anna said brightly. "Oh, we can also see about our defenses," Anna exclaimed. "I mean, Prince Hans might know about them, our defenses that is."
"Yes, since some idiot wrote a book about them," Elsa scowled.
"I think that was the Duke of Weaseltown, in retaliation for cutting off trade with him," Anna said in disgust.
"You could be right about that," Elsa replied thoughtfully.
"Why don't we have some hot chocolate and then go to bed," Anna suggested. "It's nearly midnight after all." As if to prove her point, she yawned loudly. Elsa yawned as well. Anna giggled. "See, yawns are contagious."
"Alright, let's have some hot chocolate before we go to bed," Elsa agreed.
