Chapter 7
Drake
Drake love the weekends.
He gets the time he lost during the week doing homework, being at school and other meaningless stuff. Lori disagrees because she's always loved school and encourages Drake to do well. His dad does to, but since they moved here he haven't had a lot of time to talk to him.
''I swear he's punishing me,'' he state wiping his forehead with forearm.
Drake's outside with the surprise my dad gave me.
A '68 Challenger .
Its a sexy car in all, but at the same time its crap. He must have picked it up at the nearest junk yard. There are so many problems with it, but Drake kinda prefered it this way. He liked to work for the things he wanted. Immediately, Kim came to mind. Drake wasn't one to have crushes or stuff like that, but Kim was something else. He thought about her all the time. Which his sister is saying isnt healthy.
Just as he wiped the sweat from his forehead, a loud engine roared. It hit the corner hard and screeched to a halt in front of his house.
It was a light blue Mini Cooper.
Drake wiped his hands on his red bandana. The man got out of the car and shut the door. He was tall, lean and muscular. His hair was shaved on the sides and full on the top. His left arm was covered with tattoos from the wrist and on up his arm until his shirt covered. His red bottom down and brown cuffed pants matched is brown loafers perfectly.
''Walter, what are you doing here?''
Walter chuckled before walking around the car and up to Drake. They shared a bro hug.
''Your dad didn't tell you? We got some artists that just got signed and they're recording their first hit here.''
He looked giddy like a kid in a candy store.
''Its gonna be great!'' He then stared, deep in thought at the house, ''is Lori here?''
''Yeah, why?''
Walter shook his head and made his way up to the house. Drake didn't give it a second thought.
Lori
Lori was in my sweatpants and Star Wars shirt.
She was expecting a slow and boring Saturday. Dad left out to get some necessary cords for his soundboard. Lori said that she would help him, but he said that Walter was coming to help him.
Oh great, Walter.
It's not that she doesn't like him or anything. He's really attractive and knows how to dress, but he's also really cocky. He couldn't be humble to save his life. And its not just that.
Walter is twenty-three.
Lori's seventeen.
He's way too old for her, but yet he asks me out everytime he see's me. While we were in New York he wasn't there often because he lived all the way in California.
Now that they moved here, he could see her whenever. The thought of seeing Walter on a daily basis made her shudder. She tried to think of something else when the worst thing happened.
''There you are.''
Lori turned around to see Walter. He was standing with a stupid, goofy grin on his face. He had also got a little bigger than the last time she had seen him. That scared her a little bit.
He took a step closer, ''you're not gonna greet me?''
''Hi, Walter,'' she said.
He took another sly step closer, ''so I bet you're wondering why i'm here.''
Lori looked at him up and down, ''I know why you're here. Your helping my dad with production.''
''Yes, but I also come baring gifts.'' He said as he pulled out some keys, shaking them in her face.
He smiled wider, if that was even possible.
Lori looked at the keys, ''you bought me a mini cooper?''
''Yeah, you're my girl and I wanted to get you something special and welcome you here.''
By this time Walter was about a foot away from Lori. She could smell his cologne.
Vanilla and flowery meadows.
She frowned briefly at the thoughts that came to mind, but Walter didn't notice. She smiled that sweet, fake smile she gave Walter when he bought expensive things for her. Lori would always tell him that she couldn't be bought, but Walter didn't listen.
She hated that about him.
''Walter, I told you a billion times that I not something you can buy. Now its just getting annoying. So, if you could excuse me.''
Lori tried to move to the left of Walter, but stopped her with his noticeably toned arms.
''Come on don't be like that,'' he tried.
''Move, Walter.''
His arm remained. So she pushed him, but he didn't budge.
''Walter, I'm not playing, move now.'' her tone serious.
He just chuckled which pissed her because she was so serious. Lori then tried to move around which made him grab her. A short cry escaped her lips for he gripped her arm hard as he shoved her against the wall. She didn't hit the wall too hard Luckily, Walter didn't use much force. He moved close to her.
''Walter...''
''Shhh...''
He held her still as he moved closer until he finally reach his destination.
He kissed her.
And to both of their surprises Lori kissed back.
Jack
''That's not what I meant,'' he repiled half laughing.
Jerry gave him a look and laughed hesrically with him. They both had went to the mall to check out some shoe, and to make up. They both wouldn't admit it though. They finally made it to the store with the shoes and stared.
''They're so beautiful,'' Jerry said
''Yup, but they cost so much.''
Jerry nodded in agreement. They both looked for awhile before walking away in the direction of the dojo. Even though, Jack couldn't get the shoes and he was in kind of a slump he was grateful to be out the house. His mom cooked him breakfast which he was also grateful for, but she left soon after.
So, Jack called up Jerry. He would've called Kim, but he's felt a bit distant with her lately.
Its all Drake's fault.
He scold himself. He hated himself when he was jealous. Luckily, Jerry didn't hear any of his thoughts, that's just an arguement waiting to happen.
''So how's Kim and you been lately?''
Jack looked at him wide eyed. While Jerry looked at me with his usual, goofy smile.
''Uh, w-why do you ask?'' he asks, a bit nervously.
''No specific reason.'' he said with a look Jack place.
''Where you learn that word?''
''That's besides the point. So ya gonna answer my question?''
Jack thought about it. How was Kim and his friendship right now? They still talked, but it was a lot less often than usual and they don't really hang other together that much.
Though all he said to Jerry was, ''O.K, I guess.''
Jerry looked at him like he had something on his face.
''You lie!''
He then began to rant on and on about Kim and his problems. Jack's mind drifted off to different things. He glanced around them and spotted many couples walking around.
It made Jack sick.
That's when he seen a particular couple that caught his two's hands were tenderly intertwined as they made their way to the entrance of the mall. He was a smiling down at her and laughing. She was doing the same. It only took him a second to recognize them.
It was Drake and Kim.
Jack became furious.
He clenched his fist and jaw. Jerry didn't notice. Jack couldn't get keep his cool.
''Kim!'' Jack yelled across the mall, ''Hey, Kim!''
Kim turned around to search for the voice, Drake turned too. Drake, though, spotted Jack and Jerry first. He nudged Kim and pointed in their direction. She saw him and immediately let go of his hand. Then she waved nervously. Jerry looked from me and to Drake and Kim.
''Jack, don't do nothin' stupid.''
''No promises.''
