You guys are amazing!

LITTLE REMINDER: this isn't IVF. Callie inseminated Arizona with sperm straight into her uterus.

Chapter 75

Arizona yawned as she turned off the shower faucet before grabbing a towel to wrap around her tired body. It was times like this morning she was so grateful she owned her own practice. Stepping out of the shower, she dried off her body and dawned a fresh pair of sleep shorts and a t-shirt just as the bathroom door burst open again.

It had been three weeks since she had returned from the conference and during that time they celebrated their original anniversary on May 2nd with a weekend at the river. Then after that peaceful weekend, both stayed busy at the clinic with patients on top of trying to dodge the flu and the stomach bugs that seemed to be plaguing everyone coming and going at the office. Unfortunately for the brunette, she succumb to the stomach flu sometime during the night.

Watching her wife rush to the toilet to empty the contents of her stomach. "Oh Cal." Arizona sighed, walking up behind her wife and bunching brown hair up that was falling in the Latinas face. She wasn't in the mood to clean puke out of anyone else's hair this morning. "You're okay honey." She whispered rubbing Callies back as she threw up.

Leaning back on her heels after puking, Callie sighed and laid her head on the toilet seat. She could barely keep her eyes open from exhaustion let alone get up off the floor right now. She just wanted to lay there and cry because she felt so terrible.

Seeing that her wife had finally stopped heaving, Arizona walked to the bathroom sink and wet a wash cloth for the brunette and walked back to her to clean her up some. "Come on, babe." Arizona said, pressing the wet cloth to her wife's neck. "Sit up for me."

"Nooo." She whined. For the first time in a long while she finally felt comfortable and didn't want to move even if she had her head on the toilet.

"Callie, you have to get up." Arizona said, pulling her wife up.

"No, please just let me lay here on the floor." She begged.

"Babe, I would be a terrible wife if I let you lay in front of the toilet to sleep." She said, helping Callie to her feet. "Sit down here for a minute, love." She said, guiding her to sit on the edge of the tub and dabbing the wet cloth on her wife's face to wipe the sweat off. Not long after Callie became sick her temperature spiked to 101.8, so Arizona tried to keep her wife cool even though the brunette whined she was freezing to death.

"Arizona?" Callie's voice was on the verge of breaking because she hadn't felt this bad in years.

"Yeah baby?" She said, still trying to cool her wife off.

"Please don't leave me." She looked up with tears in her eyes.

"What?"

"Please stay, don't leave me today." She asked grabbing her wife's arm that was by her face.

"Hey.." Arizona said, kneeling in front of the brunette. "I'm not going anywhere okay?" Seeing her wife nod. "I've already talked to Teddy. Jackson and Taylor are going to cover for me today and tomorrow, she's also going to reschedule your patients. I went ahead and told her to push everything to Monday because I'm sure you're going to be weak tomorrow." She soothed her.

"You're staying with me?" She looked up at her wife with a trembling voice.

"Of course I am, in sickness and in health.. right?" She would never leave her wife in the shape she was in.

"I don't want you to get sick, but I don't want you to leave either." She said, closing her eyes when she felt a rumble in her stomach again.

"You need me, I'm here. I don't care if I get sick babe, I'm going to stay and take care of you okay?"

"I'm sorry I puked in your hair." She said with tears in her eyes again. She was embarrassed she couldn't hold it in, but when it hit her she couldn't control it.

"Hey hey.. no.. no.." Arizona said, wiping her wife's tears away. "Why the tears babe?" She cupped her wife's face.

"I just feel so bad and you're having to take care of me." She said, feeling another round coming on. Pushing her wife out of the way Callie threw her face back in the toilet again.

"Oh, Calliope.." Arizona said, pulling her wife's hair out of the way again. "Just let it out babe." She said, rubbing her back until the brunette finished. "Come on sweetie." She helped her wife back up and wiped her face off yet again. Grabbing a hair bow off the counter she pulled her wife's hair up out of her face. "Let me put you back to bed." The blonde said, helping her wife back in the bed and under the covers. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, for now." Callie whispered, burrowing into the covers. "Hold me?"

"Of course, nothing more I'd rather do." Arizona said before going into the bathroom and getting the trash can for her wife and putting it by the bed. "Cal, if you get sick again the trash cans right here baby."

"Kay." She weakly replied as she felt her wife crawl in bed behind her.

"Get some sleepy sweetie." She said, spooning her wife. "When you wake up I'll get you some sprite to settle your stomach." She whispered to her wife as Callie quickly let out a soft snore signaling she was asleep. Laying there for several minutes unable to fall back to sleep because she was worried about her wife, Arizona sat up in bed and searched for her and Callie's journal in the nightstand by her bed. She was going to turn the TV on but decided against it, afraid it would wake up her tired wife. Pulling the leather book from the table, she settled back on the headboard to write a little. She opened the book and pulled out her pen as she felt the bed shift when Callie rolled over searching for her.

"Ari?" She mumbled, blindly searching for her wife.

"I'm right here babe." The blonde said as Callie laid her head in her lap.

"Will you scratch..."

"Your back.." Arizona finished her wife's sentence before the brunette had a change. "Yeah, scoot closer." She said, pulling the back of her wife's shirt up as Callie snuggled her lap. "You feeling any better babe?"

"Yeah.." She yawned. "A little."

"Good..I don't like seeing you sick, Cal."

"I know.." Callie whispered feeling her wife caress her back. "You know what's weird."

"What's that?"

"I know I'm sick, but for some reason I'm totally craving chocolate pudding and cherry tomatoes.. together."

"Eww, Calliope that's disgusting." She laughed.

"I know it sounds disgusting but I bet it's delicious."

"Are you pregnant?" Arizona laughed.

"Are you?" Callie countered, barely lifted her head up off her wife's lap. It had been four weeks today since the insemination and they hadn't really talked about finding out yet, they had been so busy at the clinic time just flew by. "I know you said you are about a week late.."

"I.. I don't know." She said, placing her hand on top of Callie's that laid on her stomach. Truth was Arizona had been feeling different lately, her boobs were tender especially when she showered earlier this morning and she easily tired but it was the same sometimes when she was on the shots. "I've been having irregular periods for a few months now, last month I had two."

"Why don't we take a test? I know Addison's going to do the blood test next week. But we don't have to wait that long, we can find out now. Why wait? It's been four weeks today so let's see?"

"How about.. let me get you better first and then we'll worry about taking a test in a day or two okay?" The blonde felt pregnant but she didn't want to tell her wife and get her hopes up if the test turned up negative.

"Okay..."

"Get some sleep baby." Arizona said combing her fingers through her wife's hair. Nothing more was said as the brunette drifted back to light sleep minutes later.

Flipping through the pages to find where she left off, she stopped when she saw her wife's writing. As far as she knew, Callie hadn't wrote in the journal as of yet but from the looks of it evidently she had. At first she wasn't going to read it but then she remembered this was theirs to share so she pulled out a pair of her old reading glasses she used sometimes to read in bed and began reading her wife's thoughts.

April 16, 2016. I'm not sure how I feel about writing in this, but Arizona says its a form of expressing yourself so I'm going to give it a try because she's not here for me to express myself the way I'd like to be doing right now. So this is for you Amor. :) I know you're reading this. Ha!

Arizona couldn't help but laugh at her wife's entry, they really did know each other too well sometimes. Looking down at the brunette that laid asleep in her lap, she couldn't help but love her more. Callie was always a beautiful sight to see even if she was sick. Focusing back on the journal, the blonde finished her wife's writings.

My wife just left to speak at a conference for a week. A WHOLE WEEK! From the first time I met her, we have never been away from each other this long. But I'll make due somehow. She hasn't been gone twenty four hours yet and my heart hurts when she isn't around, but again.. I'll survive. She deserves this notoriety that she's getting right now. She deserves everything so even though I miss her like crazy and even though it's hard.. I will put on a smile when I talk to her so she doesn't feel bad for going. I am so proud of her I can not even put it into words. She's awesome and it's time she gets noticed and I'm not just saying that because she's my wife. I knew from the first time her blue eyes looked at me that she was special, but that's a whole other journal entry. I'm going to stick to the topic at hand and that is my wife could very well be pregnant right now. The insemination went great, Addison let me squirt the 'man juices' as my wife says, inside of her. It wasn't as intimate as I'd like to hope with Addison watching on, but it was still personal and special and that's all I could ask for. God I can't wait to see her with a baby bump and know that I'm the one that got her pregnant. I can only imagine how glowing and beautiful she will be when she starts to show. Breathtakingly stunning, not that she isn't already but this will be a whole new level.

Okay I have to stop cause I'm starting to cry because I miss them so much. Yes I said them, because I feel it in my bones that Arizona is pregnant with my baby.. our baby. Just thinking about raising a child with her.. It just makes me melt. To know that someone loves me enough she would let me raise her baby with her and treat it like my own, it's beyond anything you could ever imagine.

Reading her wife's thoughts, Arizona was shocked. She never once gave it a thought that this baby wouldn't be legally Callie's. To her it was just as much hers as it would be her wife's, even if the baby didn't have the brunettes DNA. That began to make her wonder why her wife hadn't been vocal about feeling this way and she made a mental note to talk to Callie when she was feeling better. She didn't want her wife feeling like this child wasn't hers.

You know, Arizona was right, writing your thoughts and feelings down can really be cathartic. I may just give this a try more often, I make no promises though. I must go, talking about my wife makes me miss her even more than I already do. What the hell am I going to do for six more nights? Good god I sound pathetic! I need to go out and have a drink with Mark, I need to find the badass Callie I used to be before she came along. Who am I kidding, my badassness melts away when she enters the picture. I need to call her and hear her voice before I go to sleep.

Until we meet again, Callie

Closing the journal, Arizona sat it to the side on the night stand by her bed and scooted her body down the bed, lifting her wife's head slightly so Callie was now laying on her torso instead of her lap. Arizona snuggled back in bed as she slid her hand under her wife's shirt and lightly caressed the brunettes back while she thought of some things her wife had mentioned in the journal entry, slowly lulling herself back to sleep in the process.

After a few hours more of sleep, Arizona woke up with a soaking wet wife wrapped around her body. During their nap, Callie's fever finally broke causing her to sweat profusely in the process. After getting her wife out of bed and showered for the day, they went downstairs where the brunette relaxed on the couch all afternoon while Arizona made her some homemade chicken noodle soup. By the evening, Callie was feeling tired but much better all in part to her wife taking care of her. Before they knew it, their day of relaxing on the couch ended and nighttime had fallen upon them as they fell asleep in each other's arms in their comfy bed.

Darting up in bed, Arizona glanced at the alarm clock that was on her wife's nightstand, seeing it was just after six in the morning. Feeling a little uneasy, she swung her legs over the edge of the bed and sat there for a couple of moments before it hit her. Rushing to the bathroom, she threw up her contents of her stomach.

Rolling over, Callie stretched out her arm to wrap around her wife. "Ari?" She mumbled, looking around the room. "Oh no." She whispered as she turned and saw the bathroom door closed with the light on. Throwing the covers off her warm body, Callie made her way to the bathroom and knocked lightly on the door. "Sweetie? Are you okay." She listened for her wife's reply

Not wanting her wife to see her sick, Arizona rested her back against the cold wall of the room. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just had to use the bathroom." She tried to cover up her shaky voice. "Go back to bed, I'll be out in a minute."

"Okay.." Callie said, turning back around to get back on bed just as she heard her wife throw up. Sighing, she turned back around and entered the bathroom. Grabbing a wash cloth she wet it and kneeled down with her wife. "Babe.." She said, wiping her wife's face. "Why didn't you just tell me you're sick?"

"I don't want you seeing me like this." She whispered as Callie went to get the thermometer out of the medicine cabinet to see if she was running a fever.

"Were you feeling sick any at all earlier?" She asked after she returned to take her wife's temperature.

"No. It just hit all at once." The blonde said, leaning over on her wife. "I sat up in bed because I felt a little dizzy, then it just hit me."

"I'm sorry.. Looks like all that avoiding you tried at work didn't pay off. I'm sorry I got you sick babe." Callie said, rubbing her wife's back.

"You're right. This is your fault." She said in a raspy voice.

"You need anything?" She chuckled.

"Callie?"

"Yeah sweetie?" She said, holding her wife.

"Will you.." Arizona said leaning back to look up at her wife. "Will you go down to the pharmacy?"

"Sure.. What do you need? You're not running a fever or anything. You're at a comfortable 98.6." She smiled, kissing her wife's forehead. "Want some Gatorade?"

"Yes, please. Grape." Arizona said as her wife helped her back up off the floor and into bed.

"I'll run down to the all night pharmacy on King. I'll be back soon okay?"

"Okay."

"I'm going to place the trash can by the bed for you." Callie said, leaning down and kissing her wife's forehead.

"Kay." Arizona said, snuggling into the covers. "Hey." She said catching her wife before she went to get dressed.

"Yeah?"

"I still haven't told you what I needed for you to get."

"It wasn't Gatorade?"

"No." Arizona chuckled. "You don't have to go to the pharmacy to get that silly."

"Oh.. yeah." The brunette said, sitting down on the bed next to her wife. "What you need babe?" She asked, placing her arm behind her wife's back.

"A pregnancy test." She replied while watching her wife's eyes widening.

"Really?"

"Yeah." She grinned, her dimples popping immediately. "I think this is morning sickness. It's just different from a virus." She said, reaching out for her wife's hand.

"Okay.. Okay.." Callie nodded and squeezed her wife's hand. "Okay." She repeated standing from the bed and looking around the room. "I'll be right back." She quickly made her way to the door.

"Calliope?" Arizona laughed as her frazzled wife.

"Yeah?"

"I won't judge you for going to the pharmacy in your pajamas seeing it is just six in the morning but maybe you should at least put on a bra?" Arizona laughed. "I don't want anyone ogling my wife's boobs when I'm not with her to keep the pervs away." She didn't think Callie would go into robot mode on her when she told her to buy a test but now that she had, it was pretty comical.

"Right.. right.." She said, walking to her dresser. "No.. wrong. I don't care. I'm waisting precious time." She yelped, turning back around and walking out the door to leave for the pharmacy. She didn't care what she looked like right now because she was on a mission for her wife.

Throwing a coat over her body, Callie rushed out to the jeep and headed down to the city to the all night pharmacy just down the street from her old apartment. Walking in the establishment a few heads turned her way as she traveled down the isle. Coming up to the pregnancy tests, she scanned the shelf trying to decide what was the best choice in brand. She was a damn baby surgeon for God sakes and yet she didn't even know which test to get.

Walking back into their bedroom after returning from the pharmacy, Callie expected to see her blonde wife laying in bed. Setting the purchase on the bed, she walked into the bathroom hoping her wife wasn't sick again. "Arizona?" She said, seeing her wife sitting on the counter top. "What are you doing? You feeling okay?"

"Yeah. I'm okay, just nervous. I've been walking the floor since you left." She said, nervously hitting her heels on the cabinet sink.

"Okay.." Callie nodded. "You want to take one?"

"Yeah I do, but I want to talk to you about something first."

"Okay."

"Come here." Arizona motioned for her to come closer.

"What is it?" Callie asked as she took her wife's hand.

Pulling her wife to stand between her legs, she placed Callie's hand on her stomach. "I just want you to know, that if I am pregnant.. I don't want you to ever doubt that this baby isn't yours, Callie." She said in a hushed tone. "This baby might not have your blood, but it will be just as much yours as it is mine. I don't ever want you to think or feel otherwise."

"I know.." Callie whispered meeting her wife's eyes. She hadn't been vocal on her fear and she wasn't sure how her wife knew how she was feeling. "It's just.. I've been thinking recently. What if you're pregnant and something happened to the baby or both of you. I don't have medical say, Arizona. Over you I do, but I am nothing to this baby in the eyes of the law." She said, looking down at her wife's stomach.

Raising her wife's chin. "Look at me." She said. "You aren't nothing. Do you understand me. You. Aren't. Nothing. You are everything to me and this baby if there is one. You aren't ever nothing."

"Okay." Callie whispered through her tears.

"And I will make sure everyone knows that. Addison will be my doctor, she knows if anything would happen to me or the baby that you would have say." Arizona said, wiping the tears out of her wife's eyes. "If we take the test and it's positive, I'm going to call your dad and talk to him. He'll make sure in the eyes of the law you are this baby's mommy."

"Thank you." Callie said, wrapping her arms around her wife's neck. "I'm sorry I didn't mention it before, I know you wouldn't make me feel like I was nothing, but I still couldn't help but feel that way."

"You're never nothing, baby. You are my world." Arizona retuned the hug.

They sat there hugging each other for a few more minutes until Callie finally pulled back. "I'm sorry, but I can't wait any longer." She said running into the bedroom to get the bag of items she purchased.

"My god Calliope." Arizona busted out laughing, looking in the bag. "I only needed a few at most. Not the whole damn shelf."

"I didn't know which one to get. So I decided to get two of every kind they had." She said, reaching into the bag. "Look, this one was only a dollar." She held up the test. "And this one was twenty five." She made a shocked face.

"You are a funny funny girl, Calliope."

"I'm not funny, I'm hot."

Laughing, the blonde took the E.P.T. box from her wife, opening the package she pulled out the directions to read them. "That you are." She winked.

"I'll give you a minute." Callie said not knowing if her wife wanted privacy while she peed on the stick.

"Oh no.. you're not leaving me in here to do this alone." Arizona said when she saw her wife turn to leave. "You're the one that tried to knocked me up so you're going to stay in here with me." She said walking over to the toilet to take her test.

"Okay." Callie turned around and moved to sit on the counter where her wife just vacated. "I didn't know if you wanted privacy or not."

"Well I don't mind you, but this nosy mutt on the other hand is a little much. He and Charlie hasn't wanted much to do with me lately and now he wants to hang around and watch this." The dogs had woken up from their early morning slumber when the blonde was drumming her heels on the cabinet waiting for her wife to return home.

"River." Callie whistled, getting the dogs attention. "Leave your mama alone." She said, patting her leg to get the dog to come sit by her.

"Okay, we have two to three minutes." Arizona said, laying the stick down on the counter top and picking her phone up. Hitting a few things on the device, she sat it back down and took a few steps away from her wife as music filled the air.

When your legs don't work like they used to before

And I can't sweep you off of your feet

Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love?

Will your eyes still smile from your cheeks?

Hearing the music playing on her wife's phone, Callie gave her a knowing smile when she heard the familiar tune played on.

And, darling, I will be loving you 'til we're 70

And, baby, my heart could still fall as hard at 23

I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways

Maybe just the touch of a hand

Well me, I fall in love with you every single day

And I just wanna tell you I am

Swaying to the soft melodies, Arizona motioned for her wife to come to her. "Dance with me." She held out her arms as her wife jumped down off the counter and sauntered over to her.

So honey now Take me into your loving arms

She sang the first line of the chorus to Callie as she circled her arms around her.

Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars

Place your head on my beating heart

I'm thinking out loud

Maybe we found love right where we are

Placing her head on her wife's shoulder, Arizona wrapped her arms around the brunette and swayed with the beat.

When my hair's all but gone and my memory fades

And the crowds don't remember my name

When my hands don't play the strings the same way

I know you will still love me the same

"I just want you to know." Callie said, as she brushed her wife's falling hair behind her ear. "Whatever the test says.. I'll be happy. If it's negative, we can try again whenever you want. Okay?"

"Kay." Arizona shyly smiled up at her wife.

'Cause honey your soul could never grow old, it's evergreen

And, baby, your smile's forever in my mind and memory

I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways

Maybe it's all part of a plan

Well, I'll just keep on making the same mistakes

Hoping that you'll understand

Callie soaked up this moment with her wife as she held her in her arms because in the next minute or so their lives could change forever.

But, baby, now

Take me into your loving arms

Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars

Place your head on my beating heart

I'm thinking out loud

That maybe we found love right where we are

"I love you."

"I love you too." Callie whispered as she quietly sung the last of the song to her wife as she playfully spun her around in her spot.

So, baby, now

Take me into your loving arms

Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars

Oh, darling, place your head on my beating heart

I'm thinking out loud

That maybe we found love right where we are

Oh, baby, we found love right where we are

And we found love right where we are

Leaning in, the blonde brushed her lips over her wife's, teasing the brunette in the process as Callie tried to kiss her back. Smiling she did it again, but Callie was ready for her. Capturing the blondes lips, she poured all the love she had into that one kiss. Pulling back from the kiss, Arizona smiled up at her wife. "You look."

Can I just say Thursday's episode was so funny! I love the Hermab Arizona dynamic!
