Chapter 21

Allen P.O.V.

While walking home, I pull out my phone from my back pocket and call the number on my cup.

"Hello?" A feminine voice asks after two rings.

"Hi, umm... is this Shally?" I ask.

"Yes, and may I ask who this is?" She replies.

"Erm, this is Allen. You, know... the one that you gave the free coffee to..." I trail off.

"Oh! Well hi!" She says rather excited once she knows it's me.

"Uhh, hi." Well, this just got awkward.

"Um, sooo. Would you like to meet up sometime?" She asks me. 'I guess I could use someone to take m mind off Kagome.' I think.

"Sure, how about this Saturday?"

"Yay! Ok, I'll text you my address and we can meet up at noon?" She asks me.

"Yep, ok. See you then."

"Ok, cool. Bye!"

"Bye." I end the call and by now I have finished the walk back home and am in the kitchen starting to make a well deserved breakfast. I take a bite into the scrambled eggs I just made.

"God, this tastes like heaven." I say to no-one. The sensation of tasting it is so good I can't help but let out a moan.

"Well someone's enjoying their food." A masculine voices says while trying to hold in some laughter.

"Shut up." I mumble through another bite of food.

"He bursts out laughing before trying to contain it again.

"I don't even know why that's so funny!" I complain in a whiny tone.

"No, it's just you sounded like you were- never mind, keep in eating." He interrupts himself.

"MAX!" I shout at him. 'Max.' I think, 'It couldn't be him.'

"You're all dressed up. Where are you going?" I ask him, calming down from my outburst.

"I have to take my girlfriend out for lunch. She said that we don't spend as much time together anymore. She's such a pain, but she's really hot so hopefully soon I can get in her pants." Max tells me. 'What if he's trying to get into Kagome's pants? Nah, it's probably not her.'

"Well, good luck mate." I say.

"Yeah, I'm gonna need it." He laughs before walking out and leaving me to eat my food in silence.

"Damn it!" I curse. I just bit my tongue.

"Ouch, that hurt!" I cry. God my break up has made me such a wimp. I need to get my job back otherwise I'm not going to be able to pay for my rent.

Saturday

Shally texts me her address so now I'm on my way to pick her up. I'm using Max's car since I don't have one. Yet. I really need a car. I look at the gas meter and see that it's low.

"Perfect, just perfect." I mutter quietly to myself. I pull into a gas station that was luckily just around corner. When the tank is full I carry on my journey to Shally's. Finally I arrive but realize that I'm late.

"Shit." I curse. Running into the apartment building I quickly tidy up myself. The wait in the elevator seems to go on forever to get to floor 9. I hear the ding and step out onto the cold marble.

"Number 10, number 10, number 10." I chant hardly above a whisper. The numbers 10 on the door now in front of me stand out in pink paint.

"Well, this should be interesting." I knock on the door and hope that this is her apartment. The door opens and out comes the brunette.

"Yus!" I say excitedly. She laughs in confusion and raises an eyebrow.

"I am just glad that it is the right door." I explain awkwardly. Now she laughs at what I just said.

"That's cute." She tells me, "Well do you want to come inside or go now?"

"I'll come inside for a bit." I reply. She nods then steps back inside to let me in. I walk inside and notice how cosy her apartment is. But not as nice as Kagome's house. No, I need to forget about her. As you walk in there's a bathroom to your left and then there is a lounge in front of you with a couch backed up against the wall. The kitchen is on the left of the lounge and the bedroom is to you're right.

"Cute apartment." I tell her attempting to make small talk.

"Thank you..." She says awkwardly, "Well, would you like some tea or some coffee?"

"Umm, coffee please." She nods her acknowledgement and turns on the kettle.

"So, how old are you?" She asks.

"I'm 18, what about you?"

"I am 18 as well! I just finished high school and got my own place finally." She sighs contentedly.

"Yeah, it's great to finally have a place to call my home." I say. Home! Oh my god I miss Krowly, Lavi, Bookman, Lenalee, I even miss Kanda! I think that maybe it is time to go home.

"Oh my gosh, I know!" She agrees and then carries on making the coffee. The coffee then appears in front of me and it smells so good. I pick up the mug to bring it to my lips and take a sip.

"Ouch! Oh, shit!" I quickly put the mug down and carry on cursing. Shally looks at me with an amused look on her features.

"Are you ok?" She asks but there is not one trace of worry in her voice. I nod.

"Yeah, I'm fine, just burnt my tongue." I say sheepishly. She bursts out laughing before telling me, "You're such a wimp, Allen." I glare at her and before replying, "Nuh, uh!" I can kill demons! I could kill you easily too. But I say that last part in my head. I pick up the coffee filled mug again and finish it successfully without burning my tongue again. She takes our mugs and puts them in the sink.

"Shall we go?" I ask her formerly while offering my hand out to her.

"Yes we shall."
