Chapter 26
Allen's P.O.V.
I'm finally going to get back the girl I love. She's really going to be mine. Thank goodness Max is having this party otherwise the perfect opportunity to win her back would have been out the window. I've decided that I just can't move on from Kagome. She's too perfect to let go. I need her. Shally's nice but not for me. She's just too… Fake.
I told Kagome that I needed to go to the bathroom, which is true. I splash water on my face to sober myself up a little bit from the alcohol I consumed. Looking up into my reflection from the mirror I see a boy. He's got grey hair; he's quite tall and has a lanky body, a deformed arm that contains the power to turn into a lethal weapon.
Oh my god.
My anti-akuma weapon. Home. My real home. I can't believe that I thought running away from my problems would solve them. I have to go back. I have to go back now. I need to go back. I'll go after the party, that way I can get Kagome and tell her I need to go back home but I'll be back. I'll always come back for her. I've delayed my stay here for too long. As long as I wouldn't like to admit it but I never will fit in here. This is not my world. My world is fighting demons and saving lives.
Kagome's world is slaying demons as well and saving lives but finding jewel shards and walking around with her friends that aren't all human too. Modern day Japan isn't for me. A nice vacation it's been though hasn't it? I found a little love I'd been craving for along the way too. No, I'm not abandoning Kagome if that's what you're thinking. Goodness, my little chat with myself has changed quite a bit from the start. I better get out; she's probably wondering where I am. One last night with her until I come back for her and I'm going to savour it.
I walk out of the bathroom and look around the room only to find her not in the same place as I left her. No, this time I find her locked eyes with the one and only half-demon named Inuyasha. What a great time for me. I guess I wasn't the only person thinking about coming back for Kagome. I do a double take when I see that he'd holding my roommate Max by the collar of his shirt with his fist connected at Max's cheek. Suddenly a cry leaved the pink lips of my Kagome silencing the entire room.
"Stop! What are you doing?"
I run towards the three and capture Kagome in my arms holding her tightly to my chest.
"Allen, oh Allen. What is happening?" She asks hysterical, "why is Max here?"
How does she know Max?
Suddenly all the dots connect in my mind. Max was the one who she was seeing that time I caught her in the coffee shop for the first time. Kagome was the girl who Max wanted to 'tap'. Kagome was the one who rejected him before he came back to the apartment ranting about how he nearly got in her pants with a bottle of some type of alcohol I don't know. Kagome and Max. Max and Kagome.
"I think I'm going to puke." I blurt out. This is all too much for me to handle.
"You little bastard, try to lay a hand on my girl one more time and, and- you won't even remember your own name." A voice growls out. I snap my attention to Inuyasha who is talking to Max.
"Get off of him!" Shouts Kagome. She pushes me away from her and then pushes Inuyasha off of Max.
"Don't hurt him." She shouts at Inuyasha. By now a crowd had formed around us. People were whispering things like, 'Look! Do you see the cute, fuzzy ears on top of his head?' 'They can't be real.' 'He probably thought this was a costume party.' Then some were chanting, 'Fight! Fight! Fight!' I guess everyone was hungry for something new to entertain themselves.
"I was protecting you!" He shouts back.
"I'm capable of that myself."
"By the looks of it you weren't!"
"Stop following me around like a lovesick lost puppy."
"Don't call me a dog!"
"Well, you're half one aren't you?"
I barge in to stop the fight before anything horrible happens that either one of them will regret.
I turn around to see Max scurried off before anymore attention could land on him.
"Will you stop fighting?" I shout at both of them.
"Don't get involved Allen this doesn't concern you!" Kagome screams at me. I couldn't reply, she has never talked to me like this before.
"Look, I'm leaving, I don't need a reminder that my life is messed up." She states before storming out of the room.
"This is all your fault." I tell Inuyasha and leave him to his own problems. I run after Kagome and see that she is running down the corridor until she reaches outside where it is sopping wet.
As quick as the cold air hits my face my hair is drenched and Kagome is running out of my sight. A yellow cab catches my attention and I see a door open before a girl in a red dress jumps in. Kagome. I sprint down the pavement in hopes I can get to her before she drives off into the distance which I assume is her home but I'm too late as it drives off and I'm stuck in the rain watching it go, drenched, shivering and probably have a cold because of it.
Slowly, I wave my hand out on the side of the street and see another cab make its way to me. I have to get to her. I can't leave her on her own now. My hair drips onto the fabric of the seat as I tell the driver to get me to her shrine.
I'm sorry this was shit. I feel like I'm going way too fast with everything. Probably a couple more few more chapters left.
