Chapter 29

Allen's P.O.V.

"HELP!" I scream. The world is starting to spin around me as I turn is circles, desperately calling for anyone to help Lenalee.

I run to the edge of the forest knowing that if Lenalee is here then there has to be at least Lavi around somewhere.

"Oh god, oh god, oh god." I whisper, my voice shaking. I grip my thin hair tightly between my fingers pulling hard. I realise no one is coming so I sprint back to where Lenalee is lying unconscious.

What am I going to do?

Knowing this probably won't end well but having no other plan and no one is coming to the rescue any time soon I pick up Lenalee carefully, making sure I don't accidentally touch her wound. Her head flops back with a cascade of green following,

A light wind flows past as I pick up speed and branches cracked under the weight of my running feet. Tree after tree flashed past and the sky slowly grew dark. I finally stopped running, setting Lenalee down on the grass gasping for breath. My hands went straight to my stomach, cradling my aching stitch.

I can't do anything. It is dark, there are akuma lurking in the dark and Lenalee is slowly bleeding to death.

"Why?" I whispered, "Why? What do I do? What did I do!?" My voice screamed out into the empty night. I gather all my strength left and pick up Lenalee again knowing I can't stop now when she's on the verge of life or death. Her life is literally in my hands and the gravity of the situation scared the shit out of me.

A glimpse of light shimmers in the distance causing my heart beat to rise and my aching legs to move faster. Light? Could this light be hope? I quicken my pace to an almost run with the tree's blurring around me. The source of the light is almost in reach and a clear path is ruled out in front of me. The light slowly encompasses me as I get closer but as soon as I'm nearly at the source it disappears causing me to a sudden stop. What? I squint as my eye's adjust to the abrupt darkness. Was it all just my imagination?

"Allen?" An old shaky voice calls out, "Is that you?"

I turn swiftly to the noise in disbelief with Lenalee's hair swishing from the movement. The short old man before me with a halo of light around his body walks closer to me.

"Bookman?" I ask in a whisper. He nods and reaches his hand out to caress the long green locks of Lenalee.

"Lenalee? She is hurt?" He speaks quietly snapping back to reality, "Quickly now, follow me, she is terribly injured."

Bookman walks fast on a small gravel road, which I notice now. I'm out of the forest! The realisation of seeing Bookman and the gravel road has relief wash over me with the fact that we are back to civilisation and I am so close to being reunited with my friends!

After 5 minutes we reach a small wooden house on the edge of the road near a town filled with small lights. The small village compared to modern Japan is such a drastic change it hits me. I didn't realise how much of an impact that modern Japan had on me, I didn't realise that I sort of missed the place.

Bookman is nowhere to be seen as I am snapped out of my thoughts. He must have gone inside so I try to open the door but I have no luck with Lenalee in my arms.

"Hello? Can you please help me?" I call out desperately. I hear a small crash and a yell with the swift opening of the door. A bright red head stands in front of me in just as about shock as I am.

"Lavi! Oh wow, Lavi!" I yell as I rush past him in to the small living room.

"Lavi, I need your help, Lenalee is-" Standing right in front of me. I swerve back around to a confused Lavi and back to Lenalee healthy with no wounds to be seen. I look into my arms to notice nothing there. No injured Lenalee laying in my arms.

"What?" I whisper in confusion, my head starts to spin, "But, Lenalee, you- you were just here, you were in my arms with a large wound." Everything slowly begins to blur.

"Allen? Allen! What are you talking about? I've been here the whole time." She laughs, "Where have you been the past few months, we've been worried sick."

I stare at her in disbelief.

"You were, we were in the woods and you had been attacked and I carried you here and then Bookman-" Bookman walks into the room from all the commotion, "you lead us back here!" I shouted at Bookman. His tired eyes bore into mine and looked at me as if I've gone insane.

"Allen, what are you talking about?" Bookman says, I notice the halo of light is gone and the room beings to spin.

"Allen?" Levi says. Everyone begins to close in around me but my knees give way beneath me and I drop to the floor with a loud thud. The last thing I see before I black out is a worried Lavi, safe Lenalee and confused Bookman staring down at me.

Hii! Long time no see! Okay, I am terribly sorry for not updating in basically a year. I have just had zero motivation and couldn't bring myself to write anything decent. I have just gone through some important exams and am in the holidays now. I will honestly try my best to fork out some chapters before another year passes haha. Anyways, hopefully you guys have an awesome christmas and enjoy this chapter although I left it at a cliffhanger, whoops! Please leave some comments down below because it means the world to hear your feedback. Ily xx
