Chapter 20
NOTES AND STUFF: I do not own anything associated with the TMNT universe. My characters are of my own creation and not to be used without permission.
I was debating on if I should post about all the fighting that would be going on, and then decided against it. It would take way too long to write about because it goes on for a straight month and a half. However, I have decided to condense it and put in bits and pieces and some really good stuff, along with how they all handle things; some can, some are so-so, and a few get stir crazy towards the end. It will be a roller coaster of a ride, I can say that! So, let's get this bad boy started, shall we.
And So It Begins
*THE FIRST WEEK*
Things looked good from Rosie's end; they were really kicking some major ass, and; so far, Ghost Labs had not even come any closer than 500 yards to the estate. The security was holding up grand, and no major damage to the house was found. Supplies were good and everyone took their turn at watching. There were a few moments, however, that were a bit tense; like when they first saw Bebop and Rock Steady. Weird names, yes, however, do not let that fool you. They were made to withstand much punishment, and, truth be told, they almost made it to the outer wall that surrounded the house. The turtles, along with Rose and her unit, worked together to drive them back for three days in a row. The third day ended yesterday, and they waited for the two mutants to return, but could not see them anywhere.
The seventh day, they received an even bigger surprise in the form of rockets coming at them. The following is a brief recount of that event.
"Death, we got incoming!"
"Well Hulk, what do we got now, more mutants?" Rose was pissed off now, this shit was getting out of control; she wanted it over with and they just kept on coming. Fuck all; she wanted to just kill right now.
"Rockets… possible RPG… I don't fuckin' know but we gotta shoot them bastards down NOW!" While Hulk was responding, he sprinted over to where their RPG missiles were, grabbing the launcher. "Tas and Seth, get your asses in gear, we got some fliers to take out!"
"How many?" Rose screamed over the gunfire that was flying over their heads. She took up her gun and shot down four men. "Let's go Marines, send those fuckers back to hell where they came from!"
That they did, blowing up all ten of the launchers and the men who armed them. However, one got away from them and took out a corner of the roof, sending debris and sandbags flying. Donnie raced over with Leo to survey the damage. "We are good, nothing went through just mostly the sandbags; luckily we reinforced things, or it woulda been worse!" Donatello was becoming an expert on the architect of their house, learning all of its secrets that were inside and out.
"Alright boys, let's light 'em up!" Rose wanted a break, which she knew they would never give. Ghost Labs were dead set on getting their hands on them, and they weren't going to stop. Memories of her time in Afghanistan started flooding back to her; and the endless hours upon hours of fighting they endured, day after day; week after week; month after month. Sooner or later those fuckers were going to run out of fresh bodies, then, it would be done.
Grabbing several clips for her weapon, she picked a spot on the roof and got comfortable. Raph, as always, was by her side. The other turtles went downstairs, they would be the lookouts while the others were doing what Marines do best; kill the enemy. Raphael refused to leave Rosie's side, and she didn't have time to argue with him about it. "Just keep yer head low and try not to get yourself killed, k!"
He didn't need any words; she knew he would do as she said. Ducking down low, he kept a lookout for any that would try and sneak up on them. It had happened to them twice before while gunfire was exchanged; there would be around two or three that attempted to use the fighting as a diversion. It did not work those two times, and it wasn't going to work now. Using stealth, Raphael snuck up on them and took care of it himself. Rose had not even noticed he was even gone; when the big guy returned, he was a bit taken aback by what Rose and the others were doing. It seemed to him like… they were having fun? She was laughing and whooping, as were the others, while they were taking down the enemy.
"What the fuck? I think they all finally went crazy!" The muscular turtle had an almost comical look upon his face as he slowly made his way back to Rose.
"Whooooo hoooooo, that one did a big fuckin' splatter!" Rose was yelling, laughing and feeling exhilarated. "Yeah baby, 'nother one bites it!"
"Hey Tas, ya gettin' a boner yet?" (Hulk)
"Nah, not yet, but damned close!" (Tas, laughing)
"Ain't felt this good since we took out that Taliban outpost! Fuck yeah!" (Corkscrew)
"Oh yeah, Death just did fireworks to that cunt flap!" (Hulk) (fireworks-blowing their head up/no head left)
"Yep, that shit felt GOOD!" (Death)
This went on for some time, and Raphael, who was concerned for them at first, figured out that this is what they did to relieve stress of the battle. He had never tried it himself, however by the look of things, and what a good time they were having, the big turtle just might try that himself someday.
"Fuckin' yeah baby! Bring it on fuckers!" Rosie lit up the hillside with gunfire; hell, she didn't care if those idiots got hit or not, she just wanted to do damage to something and if they got caught in the crossfire then so be it.
This went on for several hours; yes, you read that correct, several HOURS. By the end of it, both sides were exhausted, however, Rosie's side was a lot less tired than Ghost Labs. Why? Because they are Marines, and Marines NEVER quit! Ghost Labs didn't know that however; they assumed that Rose and her group were running low on ammo and that the end would be coming soon, so they decided to stop firing and move on to something else. They had no idea who Rose had there, and just how much ammo and weapons she kept. Rose and her unit were thankful of the reprieve, short as it was.
Just when they gathered the empty shells and weapons up, a new kind of onslaught came at them; recordings of gunfire, bombs and yelling. It seems that Ghost Labs put up speakers around the perimeter of the estate and was now blaring the sounds at top volume. Yes, it could be heard for miles; however, the only people around for miles were Rosie's group and Ghost Labs.
"I got a remedy for that!" Rose was smiling, so something was up. "EARPLUGS!" Her unit broke out in laughter.
"Death, you know that ain't gonna keep out all that shit." Corkscrew chuckled. He also knew none of them (Marines) would use that; they could handle it, been through it numerous times before.
"Ain't for us you doorknob, it's for the others!"
Corkscrew promptly stopped mid-laugh, something he rarely did. "Oh… well… my bad then!"
That made Rosie laugh harder. She passed the earplugs out to the others, and then started talking. "You wear these, it'll lessen the shit that's blaring; however you all gotta be more observant now cuz you ain't gonna hear well. We're gonna take shifts, four at a time, two hours a turn. Me, Raph Leo and Corkscrew will take first, got it?"
They all nodded, knowing that they could trust her judgement. So everyone settled in for the night. Those who were up stayed busy observing monitors, retrieving more ammo and filling more sandbags for the rooftop. Nobody really got any good sleep, just broken moments of resting here and there.
One thing they all thought about was; what would be coming at them tomorrow.
NOTE: I will be doing it week by week; the next chapter being week two. Some chapters will be longer than others; however the ending of this battle will have several surprises in store for you, some good, some not so good. Stay tuned to find out!
