Chapter 106

Callie proudly carried her daughter down the hallway to the nursery. This was a time that her and Arizona had longed for, for so long and now that it was here she was soaking up every minute she had with her baby girl. "Wait." She said to Cristina as she saw the waiting room doors to her right, knowing their family was anxiously waiting to see the baby on the other side. "Can you tell them to come to the nursery windows so they can see her?" She nodded towards the door.

"Yeah. You go ahead and I'll tell them to go down the hall, your highness."

"Suc..." She said, biting her tongue in front of the baby even though it didn't matter right now. "Watch it Yang." She glared at her. "If they ask for a name, you don't know. Arizona wants to tell them together." Callie said placing kisses all over her daughters forehead. She couldn't get enough of those baby kisses.

"Yes drill Sargent." Yang saluted her, pushing the double doors open and getting the attention of all the people conjured there. "Robbins family..." She clapped getting there attention. "If everyone would be so kindly as to follow me down the hallway to my left." She pointed. "The royal baby awaits." She laughed as she lead the anxious bunch to the nursery windows.

Callie was in the nursery with her back turned to the window as she waited for her family to come by before she handed her over to the nurses for a little while. She pulled the little white blanket back trying to memorize every little detail of her daughter as she swayed in her stance. Checking for ten fingers and toes, she kissed each limb after accounting for every one. She just couldn't believe she had a daughter.

Hearing a peck on the window, she turned around and saw her family anxiously waiting to see the new arrival. Throwing the blanket over her daughters naked body, she turned and held up the baby for everyone to see through the glass. Aria, being Aria, snapped photo after photo of the beaming mother as she showed off her beautiful daughter.

After several happy tears were shed and both sets of grandparents clung to one another, Callie glanced back to the baby in her arms as the onlookers still awed over her. Seeing a big yawn from Charlee, the brunettes eyes widening when she noticed the indentions on the baby's cheeks for the first time. "Oh my god." She mouthed to her family through the glass. Her heart was about to burst in two with what she saw. "Dimples." Her mouth dropped before rolling her head back on her shoulders giggling. She was never going to be able to tell her daughter no. Callie was on cloud nine and couldn't believe how much she looked like Arizona even though she still had darker hair and perfectly tanned skin.

After showing the baby off for a few minutes, Callie reluctantly handed her over to the nurses in the nursery as their family started slowly dissipate from the window. Staying close by, she watched on as they cleaned her up and ran a few tests. Her heart broke when she heard her cries when a nurse took a little blood from Charlee's foot. The brunette wanted to comfort her daughter, but she couldn't right now and it killed her. Wiping the tears out of her eyes, she made for the exit. She had to do something to get her mind off those cries until she could go back and hold her daughter. Daughter, Callie just couldn't believe she had a daughter.

Meanwhile in Arizona's room, Addison had just finished up with her when her family knocked on the door to visit her. She had dozed off asleep a few times in the past few minutes, but after the red head welcomed the guests in she felt the need to fight off the sleep. After talking to the new mom a few minutes, everyone broke off into their own conversations giving her a chance to catch a few winks or that was until someone else made their presence know.

"I HAVE A BABY." Callie yelled, throwing her arms up in excitement as she ran through the door. She had decided to be silly and check on her wife for a second while they finished up with the baby. Looking around at their family who was in the room talking amongst theirselves, she noticed her sleepy wife. "That is all." She winked at the blonde, quickly turning and exiting the room. She accomplished what she came to do, which was make a fool out of herself and quickly retreat. "Oooh." She mumbled remembering something else so she poked her head through the door. So many things were running through her mind she couldn't think straight. "AND SHE'S GOT DIMPLES!" She exclaimed before quickly hightailing it back out to go to be with the baby again. She couldn't stand being away from her for a second.

Seeing the joy and excitement in her wife's eyes Arizona couldn't help but burst out into a fit of giggles, but she wasn't sure if it was from the exhaustion, the brunettes silliness or a little of both. She had saw that look on the brunettes face many times in the past three years. It was more prominent at life changing times than others. Like when they proposed to each other, then again on their wedding day and night and yet again today at the arrival of their daughter.

"Calliope, come back here." Arizona yelled for her wife as she turned to leave. "What are you doing? I thought you were staying with her?" She asked, as the brunette entered the room all smiles.

"I had to leave." She pouted. "So I thought I'd run down here and let you know that.. I have a baby." She shrugged. She hadn't been able to wipe the grin off her face since the second Charlee had been born.

"Why? Did they make you leave?" She motioned for her wife to come closer.

"No." The brunette walked up to the bed. "They were doing tests and took some blood and she was crying and it broke my heart." She pouted with tears in her eyes.

"Callie.." Arizona stifled her grin when she saw her wife's eyes wail up.

"I had to do something. So I came down here to take my mind off her crying. It was either stay there and give the nurses a good lashing for hurting my baby or come here and see you real quick until she quit crying, so I chose the latter." She huffed.

"They're not hurting her." The blonde held her hand out for Callie to take.

"I know, but her cry was pitiful, Arizona, and I couldn't handle it." She said as the blonde directed her to sit on the bed.

"What happened to the tough, badass Callie?"

"I told you, she hurdled out the window." The brunette said, getting comfy beside her wife.

"See." Arizona cupped the brunettes face. "And you said you wouldn't be a good mom. You're already ready to whip people's asses over her." She grinned. "Kiss me." She leaned in as they softly met each other's lips. "I love you."

"I love you too." Callie whispered. "You doing okay, babe? I'm sorry I didn't ask sooner." She felt bad she hadn't even asked how she was doing after having Charlee.

"Yeah I'm good, Addie just finished up. I needed a few stitches." She cringed. "That hurt like a mother fucker, Callie."

"Ooowww.." She moaned, imagining how painful that would feel. "I told you it looked painful." Callie chuckled.

"She gave me some good drugs a few minutes ago, so I don't feel anything at the moment." She smiled, leaning her head against her wife's. "She's prefect isn't she?"

"Just like her mama." She laced their free hand together. "I'm already addicted to her."

"Are they going to let you bring her back? I need to see her."

"I'll bring her to you as soon as they're done." She said, kissing her wife's temple.

"Don't let them feed her a bottle yet."

"I won't. I've already told them."

"Is it weird that she's only been a part of our family for less than an hour and I feel empty without her in here with us?" Arizona whispered, looking up at her wife. "I miss her, Calliope."

"I know you do sweetie.. And no it's not weird at all." Callie agreed. "She's filled a part of me that I didn't even know existed. I thought I already loved her with everything I had, but that was before I saw her. I didn't know you could love someone so much, so quick." Callie turned to face her wife and gave her a tight hug.

"I know."

"I'll bring her to you as soon as I can." She whispered, pulling back from the embrace and lifting her wife's chin up. "I can tell she's looking for you." She said, noticing she had been gone from the nursery for about five minutes. "Oh, I gotta go, my daughter needs me." She jumped up from the bed without so much as a goodbye to her wife.

Arizona was left sitting in the hospital bed with her mouth hanging open. "I can't believe it." She crossed her arms. "My worst fear has finally came true. I've been pushed aside for someone much younger and way cuter than me." She pouted.

"Aww, suck it up Zona dear. You should be grateful Callie is already crazy over that baby. Some fathers aren't half as excited as she is."

"I know, mama." She sighed. "I just want to see her." She said, leaning back in the bed.

"You will sweetheart. It sometimes seems the mother is the last to be able to hold her baby, but you have a connection with her no one will ever have and that kinda makes up for it." She caressed her daughters tired face. "You'll have her in your arms soon. Callie will make sure of it."

"Yeah." She yawned.

"Why don't we all go and let you get some rest?" Lucia suggested walking up to the foot of the bed. "We'll come back later this evening to see the baby." She said looking around the room and getting a round of agreements.

"You really don't have to rush, you can stay. She's your granddaughter."

"We know, but right now you need rest and you both need this time alone with your daughter. We'll get out of your hair for now, but I make no promises tonight." Callie's mom said before walking up and hugging her daughter in law.

"Okay." She chuckled, relieved that she would be getting some rest soon.

Minutes later, Arizona found herself alone for the first time. She wanted to get up out of that bed and go find her baby, but she was too tired to stand let alone walk down the hall to the nursery. Content enough in knowing that Callie would bring her to her as soon as she could, she laid back in the bed and soon fell asleep.

Thirty some minutes after leaving her wife's side, Callie walked through the door of her wife's room with Charlee in tow. Seeing her asleep in the bed, she was torn with whether to wake her up or leave her to rest for a few minutes longer. For the first time in a few months, Arizona looked so at ease and peaceful sleeping there in bed. She had been having a hard time getting comfortable enough to sleep and when she finally did get to sleep she would wake up on and off all night long it seemed.

Deciding to give her wife a little more shut eye, Callie sat in the chair by her wife's bed as she rocked their daughter. "Mama's sleeping baby." She whispered to her. "But she'll wake up in a minute I'm sure." She said kissing her daughter on the cheek. "You give the best kisses." She cooed to the newborn who kept blinking at her. She knew she couldn't see good yet if at all, but she knew she was looking for Arizona. "Oh Charlee, you filled mommy's heart. Do you know that?" She watched as the little girl scrunched her forehead. "Yes you did." The brunette looked up to see if her wife was still sleeping. "We should wake your mama up. She'll probably yell at mommy for not waking her up when you came in here. But I'll deal with the beast, don't worry about her." She giggled. "You're going to have a great life, Mija. You have me and mama and we will protect you, provide for you and spoil you rotten. And when your mama thinks it's time for you to leave the nest and venture out on your own, you won't have to worry cause mommy will send you loads of cash behind her back." She grinned as she softly caressed the top of her baby's head. "When you get older someone might try to say I'm not you mom, but I'll love you so hard you'll never question it, because I do. Mommy will always love you baby. I'll be there for you through everything. I'll sooth your little tummy when it hurts, even if it's in the middle of the night. I'll powder that little booty and wipe away your tears when you cry. I'll be there for your first love and your first heartbreak. I'll even have mama make you her famous Robbins sundae to help you get through because let's face it, breakups are tough. Take it from someone whose knows." She said, as she mesmerized over her daughter. "If your anything like me you'll give up on love, but then one day you'll meet someone like no other. You'll know they are someone you want in your life in any form you can have them. Being with that person will feel so natural, but yet, you'll have butterflies the size of coconuts."

"More like the size of boulders." Arizona muttered, causing the brunettes head to shoot up in surprise. She smiled and reached out for her wife's hand when she saw the blush sweep over her cheek because she had been caught.

Arizona had stirred from her sleep when Callie started talking to their daughter, she kept her eyes shut and listened as she talked to the baby. It wasn't that she was ease dropping, she just didn't want to interrupt their little moment, but when she heard her wife's words, her heart beamed with love for the brunette. She had been worried how Callie would see herself in Charlee's life after she was finally here and hearing how she felt filled her with relief and pride. She couldn't believe how much love she had for both of those girls.

"Mama's right, more like boulders." She smiled, squeezing her wife's hand. "Never doubt that mommy loves you baby girl." She kissed her daughter just as she started to whimper.

"Awe, some one's hungry." Arizona said as she turned on her back, smiling at the sight of her two girls.

"Mama's awake." Callie whispered excitedly as she let go of her wife's hand to stand and pass her the baby.

"They didn't try to feed her?" Arizona asked, taking the baby in her arms, immediately peppering kisses all over her face.

"No. I told them we wanted to try breastfeeding first." Callie watched as Arizona finally got to spend some time with Charlee. "Hey?" She asked as she saw tears slip from her wife's eyes. "What's wrong?"

Shaking her head, the blonde wiped the tears from her eyes. "Just seeing her, being able to touch her and hold her.. It's surreal." She said as more tears formed. "We had to go through so much to be in this moment, Callie, with the terrible miscarriage, Erica, Lauren and everything in between." She said as Callie sat on the edge of the bed and faced her. "It's just a little overwhelming now that she's here and so perfect." She breathed, caressing her daughters cheek. "I never knew this kind of love existed. I mean, I knew I'd love her, but this is so much different you know?" She said as Callie caressed her leg.

"It's like nothing can ever break that kind of love. It's different then what we share." Callie said as her wife nodded. "Time nor space or anything else can come in between, it's an unbreakable bond forever.."

"And always." Arizona said as she stared in awe at the newborn in her arms.

"It's like you'd die for her right now, or kill anyone who would ever hurt her or look at her the wrong way." She said, leaning down and kissing the top of the baby's head.

"Yeah." She smiled at her wife. She loved that Callie felt the same way she did about their daughter. "You and Charlee are my world and I love you both more than you'll ever know, Calliope."

"We love you too, baby." Called said, leaning in for a slow kiss. "More than you could ever imagine." She said as Charlee let out a soft cry.

"Are you hungry my baby?" Arizona cradled her in her arms. "Should we call a nurse?" She looked up to her wife.

"No." Callie unbuttoned the left side of her wife's gown. "They said she should latch right on, but if she doesn't they were more than welcome to come try and help."

"Is it bad of me that I find this kinda awkward?" Arizona said, pulling the gown down as she tried to feed her daughter.

"No." Callie chuckled as she help her daughter find the blondes nipple. "They said she might not get anything at first."

"She's hungry." Arizona smiled as Charlee searched for her food supply. "Oooh, an over achiever." She giggled in surprises as her daughter latched on quickly. "This is so unbelievable. Look how cute she is Callie. I can't believe it. We have a baby, but not just any baby.. a gorgeous one."

"She really is." Callie's eyes filled with tears. She felt like she could just explode she had so much love inside of her. "Does it feel weird?" She asked as she leaned close and watched her feed while she ran her fingers through the baby's short hair as she tried to drink from her mother.

"No. Not really, I thought it would, but it feels good... it feels natural." She said as she watched the baby suckle. "It should be illegal to be so cute. I just want to eat her up." She leaned down and kissed her head.

"I'm so jealous of her right now." Callie pouted. "Just twenty-four hours ago that was me."

"Don't ruin this sweet moment, mommy." Arizona grinned up at her wife. "I'm sorry our night got ruined."

"Ahh, not me. It was worth it."

"Kiss me." She whispered, leaning in for a kiss.

Cupping her wife's cheeks, Callie pressed their lips together in a slow languid touch, but yet with so much passion and love. Deepening the kiss, she cupped the back of the blondes neck as she ran her tongue over the bottom of her pink lip, slipping inside when she parted.

"You.." Arizona breathed as she rested her forehead against the brunettes after she broke the heated kiss. "You shouldn't kiss me like that."

"I can't help it." Callie whispered as they both looked down at the little girl in her mothers arms. "You shouldn't look so good all the time."

"Not hardly, I'm all sweaty and stinky."

"But yet, you are still beautiful and you make beautiful babies."

"We make beautiful babies." Arizona smiled. "She looks like you Calliope." The baby had stopped feeding so she laid her on her shoulder and lightly patted the babies back. "Whose flowers?" She noticed them for the first time since she had woke up.

"I don't know." Callie stood from the bed. "They were in here when Charlee and I came in." She said, grabbing the card out of the stem. "I'm sure they're for you."

"Well they're pretty." Arizona said taking the card and opening it up.

Arizona, these past 3 years have been the best of my life. I try not to take a single day with you for granted. I wish words could describe how much I love you, but there are none. You have had my whole heart for yourself for three years, but now I have someone else vying for my love and I'm afraid to tell you that even though I just met her, I have as much love for her as I do for you.

Happy Anniversary Pretty Mama Love, Mommy and Charlee

P.S. I love writing that!

Wiping the tears that fell on her cheeks, she pulled on her wife's arm to bring her in closer. "Thank you, mommy." Arizona kissed her on her lips. "Happy Anniversary babe. I love you so much too, Calliope." She said, leaning her forehead on the brunettes.

Callie couldn't help but let out a content sigh when Arizona called her mommy. Sure she's called her that many times since they conceived the baby and with the dogs even, but now that Charlee was finally here those words really meant something now. "Say it again."

"Mommy." The blonde giggled at the dazed look on her wife's face. "Whoa.." She said as the newborn let out a burp. "Looks like mommy has got some competition, huh?" She said, laying her on her lap.

"I may have to up my game." Callie smiled as she rubbed her baby's head.

"Looks like it." Arizona said, unwrapping the blanket from around the baby. "Let's take this blanky off, Mama wants to see you Charlee." She said, pulling it off of her and taking in her daughter.

"She looks like a monkey." Callie laughed. "She's got long skinny arms and legs." She said, sitting down on the bed at her wife's feet as she leaned over her legs.

"She's so tiny, Callie, and when she scrunched her face." Her heart melted for the twentieth time today. "Oh my gosh, she's our little monkey." She laughed. "How much does she weigh?" She said as she softly caressed her baby's belly.

"No wonder it felt like she was swinging on your ribs." The brunette leaned down and kissed her daughters head. "She is a whopping five pounds, two ounces and twenty-one inches long. Such a big chunker huh?" She teased.

"She sure felt like a ten pounder."

"I bet." Callie said, tickling the baby's cheek with her index finer. "Watch."

"I can't believe she has dimples." She said as Charlee's face flinched when her mommy caressed it. "She's got the perfect skin. She looks like she just spent a week at the beach." She leaned down and kissed the bottom of her feet. "And her hair."

"I know, who would have thought she would look kinda like me." Callie smiled as she watched her wife take in every detail of her daughter.

"I told you all along she would." Arizona poked the brunette on the nose. "Her eyes are still up in the air. They're blue now, but they usually change."

"I hope not. A cute little Latina baby with blue eyes. Gosh, she will be breaking hearts everywhere she looks."

A few minutes went by as they talked about how much Charlee looked like them both. "Cal." Arizona whispered after a few moments of silence.

"Yeah?"

"I wish Tim could see her." She said as she swaddled the baby.

Sighing, Callie felt a pang of sadness for her wife, she couldn't imagine not being able to share in her happiness with her sister. "He would have been a good uncle. He IS a good uncle." She corrected. "Just because he isn't here, doesn't make him any less her uncle."

"Yeah." She agreed. "Do you think he knows about her?"

"I'd like to believe he saw her before we did. That he got to hold her and cuddle with her before us." Callie wasn't religious like her parents, but she was a firm believer in the things unknown.

"That's a comforting thought." She said laying her on her chest. "Did you meet your uncle Tim already?" She cooed just as the baby let out a hiccup.

"That may be a yes." Callie chuckled.

"Maybe." Arizona smiled, as she caressed her wife's face.

"God, even her hiccups are cute."

"You're cute too you know." Arizona said as she rocked and patted the baby's back.

"I know." Callie shrugged like it wasn't something new.

"Mama's sleepy Charlee." She yawned.

"Why don't you get some sleep baby." She said, standing from the bed. "You need to rest. You have to be exhausted."

"I am, but you have to be tired too."

"A little, but I'm okay. Just close your eyes, love." She said, taking the baby in her arms. "I'm sure our parents will be stopping by in the next few hours, so get some sleep. We'll be here when you wake up." She leaned and kissed the blonde on her forehead. "Char and myself will just sit here and rock away, won't we baby girl. Yes we will." She cooed to her daughter.

Chuckling at her wife. "I love you." Arizona whispered as she rolled on her side to look at her two girls sitting in the chair.

"And I love you and this little monkey too, to the moon and back. Forever. And. Ever." Looking up at her wife, her face turned serious. "Not even three hours in and I'm already talking baby talk." She shook her head. "Life is good." She sighed and leaned back in the chair.

"Life is good." Arizona repeated.
