Hey, guys!
Oh my god! What a busy month! July was supposed to be a chill month for me (since, normally, it really is just taking it easy). But, this year, it is one of the busiest months I've ever had! Home-works, Quizzes, Exams, Projects, Programs, Presentations, Reports, Practice, Clubs! It was driving me NUTS! Another problem was our wifi connector, it is still broken and we haven't gotten a new replacement. So, I didn't really have time to create new chapters.
Anyway, enough of my problems! Here is chapter 10! I apologize for any misspellings or wrong grammars, and I hope you enjoy!
P.S I will also be updating my other stories soon! Just hope that there aren't any more bumps in the road.
(Chapter 10 - This Is Going To Be Your Fault)
The beautiful day Konoha was blessed with today was not displaying the real chaos that inhabited its streets. Citizens had their own inner turmoil, terrified that, one day, their once mighty village will completely fall because of their blind hatred. The ninjas that, long ago, dedicated their lives towards their beloved home, now mourn for the real funeral of their once great land. Konoha had already fallen, it had collapsed once its citizens betrayed their kage's wishes. No more was the village hidden in the leaves, now stands the village bathed in shame.
Of course, the biggest burden of Konoha was on their current hokage, Tsunade, who was experiencing another heavy migraine. The female leader rubbed her temples in exasperation as she clenched her eyes shut in pain. A man that was wrapped in bandages stood in front of her with a smug face.
"Okay, Danzo. What is it this time? Is it another request to go after the Mirror Demon? Because, I'm pretty sure you already know that the answer to that is no, right", sighed Tsunade. Danzo's smirk widened, he walked closer towards the blonde woman and took out a jade necklace from his sleeve. He laid it on Tsunade's desk and chuckled in morbid humor.
"Why, hokage-sama. I' am not here to, in your words, annoy you. Instead, I' am here to bear you good news", the mummified ex-ninja ominously explained. Dark intent was clearly lacing every word, which made Tsunade even more suspicious of his shady personality.
The blonde hokage eyed the council member warily, she knew that Danzo brought nothing but bad vibes with him. The retired mummy never did anything to benefit the village these past few years, not even before Naruto was banished. Sighing in exasperation, Tsunade decides to give Danzo her reply, already knowing that his intentions will be anything but good. "Good news, huh? I don't believe you. The day you bring good news is the day you become attractive", she insulted with a major stink eye directed at the council member. Danzo mocked an offended expression, complete with a small fake gasp.
"Please, Hokage-sama. Let's be civilized here. Besides, I think I just found a way to bring your...brother home", Danzo smirked; he knew that his little sentence would instantly catch the hokage's attention.
"What? What are you saying?", Tsunade questioned; suspicion temporarily forgotten.
"I'm saying that I might have found a way to bring your precious little fox gaki home", the council member repeated with fake kindness. His lone eye closed to hide the maniacal glint that shining underneath his eyelid. The blonde hokage suddenly felt hopeful, she felt relieved to find something or someway to see her precious person again. But doubt came back hitting her on the head with full speed, her honey brown eyes narrowed and a scowl formed on her red tinted lips.
"What the hell are you planning, Danzo", she growled in anger. Something tells her that this was going to be bad news, that's what Danzo always brings anyway. So, why be surprised when you already know what was going to happen. The retired shinobi looked smug and confident, as if his plan was going to be successful.
"Something that will lift Konoha back on top, Hokage-sama. And return the demon back where he belongs", Danzo almost chirped. Okay, maybe he was a little too excited about his plan. The image of an over-excited Danzo kind of scares me and I think it will scare you as well. Back to the story, the slug sannin looked extremely angry; not even minding the seemingly good mood that the retired shinobi had.
"Don't call Naruto a demon, you bastard! You or anyone else have no right to call him that!", Tsunade slammed her hands on her desk; cracking it slightly. The table creaked in protest but was only ignored by the blonde busty woman and glared heatedly at the man before her, instead.
Danzo mentally sneered, he felt insulted but he needed to suck up to the hokage to get his plan going. Or else, he'll be behind bars for a lifetime. Replacing his smug expression with an apologetic one, he slightly bowed and fakes a shame-filled voice. "Oh, how incompetent of me. Please, allow to give you my humble apologies, Hokage-sama. But still, hear my news; I promise it that it would definitely brighten your day", the council member pleads. Though, you can hear the sarcasm in his tone so; it wasn't really hard to tell that he was faking it.
Tsunade rolled her eyes, she was tired and angry. If she wants this whole thing to end fast, she has to give this man a shot. The faster he starts, the sooner he leaves. Picking up the sake cup, which fell when she pounded down on her table, she places it back on the desk and fills it up with sake. The blonde hokage then raises the cup to her lips and sips her drink.
"Fine. It better be good", the woman slurred lightly before she places her cup back on her wooden table.
"Oh, but it is. Bring them in!", Danzo's smirk widened and he signals for his personal Anbu squad, who were are all his ROOT Anbu's in regular Konoha Anbu uniforms, to bring out the big surprise. The blonde hokage's eyes widened as she gazed upon the tied up group of innocent children with an unconscious woman next to them. Tsunade immediately exploded in a fiery pit of rage, slamming down the sake cup forcefully on the protesting wooden table, breaking it into tiny little pieces.
"WHAT THE HELL!? Danzo,what is the meaning of this?!", she screeched angrily.
"Hokage-sama, I bring you the only chance to bring back the dem-I mean boy to the village where he belongs", the mummified councilman proudly stated. At this, you can already see the raging flames coming out of the busty blonde's mouth as she viciously glared t the man before her.
"ONLY CHANCE?! I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO DO, YOU SHITHEAD! BUT YOU ARE NOT GOING TO DRAG A BUNCH OF INNOCENT CIVILIANS INTO YOUR SHENANIGANS!"
"Please tone down your voice, Hokage-sama. Besides, I'am very certain that my plan will bring Konoha back to the top", Danzo calmly said. No matter what, his plan must take off successfully! No one will stand in his way, not even the wretched blonde sannin. Tsunade continued seething. She has to stop this maniac from doing anything that can ruin the village more than it already is!
Gazing at the group of innocent civilians, the slug sannin narrowed her eyes and points accusingly at the ex-ninja. "Danzo, I'am not going to partake in your unnecessary plan! Not when there are innocent people's lives at stake. Your plan is unacceptable! Shut whatever your forming in your sick mind, down! Or I will have you arrested for illegal kidnapping"
"But, Hokage-sama, think of the people who are suffering for that demon's actions! The actions that caused our beloved village to sink into destruction-"
"Correction, self-destruction! This whole thing is our own fault! No, it all your fault; it's those who were too blind in hate that made all these problems happen! It was never Naruto's fault and you know it, you're just trying to blame someone else to not get yourself in trouble!", Tsunade exclaimed. The councilman had a slightly nervous and troubled expression on his face but he just kept firing back at the busty sannin.
"Let's not play the blame game here, Hokage-sama-"
"No! We are playing the blame game, Danzo. I've had enough of all yours and the councils' bitching. We already have enough problems as it is! Why do have the need to pile more on top of the gigantic mountain you already caused?!"
"Hokage-sama, please liste-"
"No more excuses! Release these people and bring them back to their respective homes. If we're going to get Naruto back, we're going to do it the right way. Now, do as you are told or else!", the blonde woman said sternly. 2 pairs of eyes stared each other down, daring the other to defy their commands. Tsunade's honey brown eyes screamed that the she was the one in charge while Danzo's shouted that he wasn't going the down without a real fight.
The two adults glared at each other maliciously. The group of children and some of the ROOT Anbu's watched the scene unfold, the former hoped that the seemingly understanding woman would win the battle. A short period of silence reigned over the area, causing some to tense because of the thick air that surrounded ever inch of the office. Finally, after what seemed to be eternity, the mummified ex-ninja straightened his form and lightly bowed in respect at the other.
"Yes, Hokage-sama, I understand. Please forgive me for my foolishness", Danzo stiffly voiced. Tsunade looked smug before she sat back down on her chair.
"You are pardoned; just make sure to heed my warning, Danzo", the woman replied.
"Of course, Hokage-sama. Thank you for your time". Snapping his fingers, the ROOT Anbu squad gently lifted the group of kids off of the ground and escorted the band of children out side of the hokage's office.
After leaving the hokage tower with the group of civilians in tow, Danzo signalled for one of his ROOT to come forward. The Anbu bowed in respect and waited for his master's wish. The councilman glanced st the children before his smirk returned, he turned back to his loyal minion with a dark look on his concealed face.
"Hawk, I want you to secure the prisoners. Make sure that no one, especially the Hokage, will know about their location. Am I understood?", Danzo established. The other Anbu's nodded at the command, hauling away the scared little children with them. The specific ninja Danzo was talking to, nodded as well in submission.
"Yes, Danzo-sama", the Anbu replied. He stiffly stood up and followed after the others as they left to relocate their prisoners somewhere not even the Hokage would think of. The mummified councilman chuckled in triumph as he watched his minions leave to obey his command. Ahh...Life was good. For him, at least. His sneaky ways was only digging him a deeper grave, but of course, he didn't even thought of that.
Walking around the streets of Konoha, he observed how people were thinner than they used to be because of the lack of nutrients, which were even harder to afford nowadays. An economic crisis was breaking the village down like a twig, it was causing many people to suffer. Yet, not even one of the civillian council members were human enough to admit that they were at fault as well. Danzo snorted as he thought of how foolish the blonde village leader was for worrying about an inferior demon that caused the whole entire mess Konoha was under in.
The councilman gazed at the hokage tower in longing, smirking his evil little smile as he slowly walked away from the office. It was no secret that Danzo wanted all the power to himself. And he only needed the Kyuubi brat to do the job for him. If his plan continues without a hitch, Konoha, and maybe the whole Elemental Nation, will be eating on the palm of his hand! Now, all he needs is to use the blonde-haired demon for his plan to take off.
"There is no need to rely on just a few options, Hokage-sama. I will make sure to get that demon back and lift Konoha up from its agony with my own...more effective ways", Danzo muttered to himself. Passing shinobi's and civilians alike, he held in his malevolent laughter while he made his way back to his estate.
He never knew the fact that he had just unleashed the monster that can kill his dreams and end his life forever.
