Chapter 107

"I can't believe she's twenty-four hours old." Arizona pouted. "Where does the time go?" She asked as Callie shut off the water.

"I don't know, but what I want to know is how do we make it stop?" Callie said, wringing the water out of her hair. "Your towel, MiLady." She pulled the towel down from the rack for the blonde as she stepped out of the shower stall of the hospital bathroom.

They had spent the evening yesterday napping with the baby until their family and friends came to visit and doted over their new addition. Barbara was floored with excitement knowing that she was named after her father. After an hour or so of visiting, they all went back to the girls' house to spend the night. Carlos got the women alone with his lawyer after everyone left and officially made Callie a legal parent to Charlee. Which in turn Arizona dubbed her a baby hog cause she couldn't seem to put the baby down after legally becoming her mommy, which the blonde didn't mind at all.

By late evening, Addison had one of the nurses to bring in a cot for Callie to sleep on because she insisted that she wasn't leaving the blondes side. So after everything calmed down for the night and Arizona fed the baby one more time before having to reluctantly hand her over to the nurses in the nursery for the night with the promise of bringing her back when she needed to be fed. Callie kicked the cot to the side, telling the blonde that it was time they get to snuggle like they used to. Three times during the night they were woken up by a nurse bringing Charlee in to be fed, neither one complaining an ounce when the little girl was brought in the room crying wanting to be fed. Callie even was up and wide awake without fuss every time which surprised the blonde because the brunette was usually hateful when she was woken in the middle of the night. Arizona on the other hand was a little grumpy because Charlee had a few difficult times latching onto her breast, but after her wife's help she calmed down

The better part of the next morning was spent with the two moms just enjoying the company of their daughter as they fed and just admired her. Callie had changed her diaper earlier in the day and Arizona had a good laugh when the brunette picked her up and the diaper drooped down the baby's bottom. The Latina pouted around until Arizona coddled and loved on her for a while when the baby took a nap. And just before lunch, Addison stopped by and gave the blonde a checkup and to let her know if she was lucky enough she would discharge her and the baby sometime that evening, but she couldn't make any promises.

"Thank you, babe." Arizona said, taking the towel from her wife as she begin drying herself off. "I feel so much better." She let out a content sigh. She hadn't had a shower since her water broke almost two days ago and now she finally felt refreshed and ready to face the world again.

"Me too, even though my ass wasn't as stinky as yours." Callie teased as she dried herself off also. Arizona had asked for a little help with her shower, so the brunette decided to jump in there with her.

"Shut up." She pushed her away playfully. "I have an excuse, what's yours?"

"I am just a new mother, trying to take care of her baby's needs and sometimes that means you have to let yourself go." Callie joked, wrapping the towel around her still damp body.

"Letting yourself go, huh?" The blonde questioned as she mirrored her wife.

"Yep."

"So does that mean you don't care if I gain fifty pounds and go a few days without a bath or brushing my hair.. maybe even my teeth?" Arizona asked, drying her hair.

"You can lose five, or gain a hundred. Brush your teeth or not." Callie said, grabbing her wife and dipping her playfully.

"Whoa.." She yelped in surprise as she gripped the brunettes shoulders tightly.

"I don't care how much weight you gain as long as I can call you mine forever." She whispered against pink lips.

"I'm already yours." She muttered, entranced by her wife. "Even when I'm dead. I'll always be yours, forever and a day." The blonde whispered back.

"Good, cause I'm yours." Callie kissed her lips softly before standing her back up on her feet. "So you can sit on the couch all day watching bad TV and eating Doritos, pizza, cakes or cookies all you want as long as you save me a little." She giggled. "Oh, and have Charlee all fed and ready for play time with mommy when I get off work."

"I think I can take time out of my busy day for that." She huffed, teasing the brunette.

"You need any help getting dressed?" Callie knew her wife was moving a little slow because she was a little sore this afternoon.

"Ummm." She said, picking through her clothes Callie had brought in the room for her to change into. "Yes, underwear. I can't wear these right now." She said holding up the barely there panties the brunette picked out. "I need something else. I'll be on my period for a while, you know that right?"

Callie rolled her eyes at her wife as she dressed in her tank top and khaki capris. "Duh." She said, brushing her hair. "Hints the no sex for six weeks." She teased.

"Oh my god, I'd die if it lasted for six weeks." She scoffed.

"Some women do go a few weeks."

"Yeah I know, and Addie told me yesterday not to be surprised if I do. So I need different panties." She twirled them around her finger.

"I have some more in the suitcase. I'll get you another pair." Callie chuckled. "Need anything else?

"Yes. I need you to just.. hold me for a second?" She asked, leaning into the brunette. "Mmmm.." She sighed in Callie's arms as she pulled her tight. "I've missed this so much." This was the first time they had felt their body completely against the others and it was a welcome feeling.

"I have too." She held her tight. "You tired?" She knew the blonde still hadn't got enough rest. She had been woken up at least three times during the night to feed the baby and had stayed with her around and hour each time, so she knew Arizona was running on fumes as was she.

"Yeah, I am. I just can't wait to get home and nap in our bed. Those hospital beds are rough on your back."

"I know. When we get home, we'll put our little monkey to bed and I'll give you a massage and then if we're lucky we'll take a nap before dinner."

"Sounds good. That is if we get discharged later." She said, burying her face into the brunettes neck and inhaling the scent that is purely her wife.

"You will. Addison texted me not long after she left the room and said she'd be back around two or three to let you both go."

"Yey."

"Yep." Callie laughed. "Let's get you changed. I'm sure our love bug will be ready for her snack before long." She said, kissing her wife's cheek before leaving the embrace. "I'll be right back." She said, turning to leave the bathroom

"Hey, no funny business you two." Teddy banged on the door just as Callie placed her hand on the knob. "You've been in there long enough for the water to run cold twice. My niece doesn't need to hear the sounds her mothers make.

"Oh good god." She rolled her eyes. "Can we send her on her way yet?" She whispered.

"Oh hush, don't be mean." She smacked Callie on her butt as she sent her out to get her a new change of panties.

After getting changed, Arizona relaxed in the bed for about an hour until the doctor came back into the room and released her and the baby. Lucky for her, Callie had everything ready and had took it down to the SUV by the time Addison gave her the okay to leave.

When Callie made the trip to take the luggage down stairs, she remembered she hadn't ever installed the car seat in the Land Rover, so she stayed downstairs and fought with it until her phone beeped, signaling a text. After making sure the car seat was firmly in place, she released it from the base that was buckled into the seat. Pulling the phone from her pocket, she saw the picture Arizona sent her. She couldn't help the huge grin that graced her face.

Arizona's picture was of her laying down on the hospital bed with Charlee asleep on her chest. - Come get us mommy, we're ready to go home. - XO Mama & Charlee -

- On my way, my beautiful girls. - XO Mommy -

Callie smiled as she put the phone back in her pocket. Grabbing the baby seat, she headed upstairs to take her family home for the first time.

"Okay, moneky." Callie said, putting the car in park after she pulled into the driveway of their home. "We're home." She said, looking in the review mirror and seeing her wife and the baby in the back seat. "I'll help you out babe." She said as she quickly exited the car and went to help the blonde gently get out of the vehicle. Arizona could get out herself, but Callie wanted to help her and to make sure she didn't do anything to strain and mess her stitches up. She didn't even want to imagine how painful that would be. She shook her head to clear the thought out of her mind. "Come on sweets." She said, gently helping her wife out of the Land Rover.

"You really don't have to help." Arizona said, standing by the car.

"I know, but I want too." Callie said, climbing in the seat her wife just vacated and unbuckling Charlee and cradling her in her arms. "I got our little love bug." She said, getting back out again. "You take her mama." She said handing the baby over to the blonde. "And I'll get her diaper bag and your bag." She said, opening the back hatch of the vehicle to get the bags.

"Is anyone home?" She asked. Her parents and Callie's family had been staying at their house for the past two nights and she was wondering why no one was waiting for them on the porch.

"No, they all went out for an early dinner. My mom said they wanted to give us a little time alone to get settled before everyone came back and hogged the baby."

"The boys.. they're not in the house right?" She was unsure how they would act when they brought Charlee in and she wanted to keep them away until they had a chance to love on the boys before introducing her to them.

"No, they're in their house out back." Callie said, leading her wife by the small of the back up the porch and into the house.

"Welcome home, Charlee." Arizona cooed as she stepped into the foyer of their home. "You're gonna love this place." She said as she stood in the entrance of the living room and swayed her daughter. "Just wait until you see what mommy did with your room. You'll never want to leave it." She said, kissing the baby's head that was resting on her chest.

"I'm going to go let the boys run around a bit and let them get all their excitement out before letting them meet Char." She said, kissing her wife's cheek and the baby's head. "You need anything?"

"No. I think I'm just going to give her the grand tour." Arizona smiled before leaning in and kissing red lips before the brunette disappeared through the house. "Okay Charlee girl, how about I show you your new diggs?" She said walking into the living room. "This is where we will cuddle with mommy and watch cartoons and eat ice cream on Sunday nights and most other nights too if we feel like it." She giggled, lightly bouncing the baby in her arms as she walked through the room and into the dinning room and kitchen. "And this is where we will have family dinners and talk about our day and where mommy will complain about her coworkers or your aunt Teddy." She laughed, seeing her wife running around with the dogs out back in the yard. "Ahh.." She sighed. "Your mommy is something Char. We are so lucky to have her in our lives. She loves us so much." She said, turning back out of the room and going upstairs. "But you know what, we love her just as fiercely, don't we? Yes we do." The blonde said, as she walked into her and Callie's room. "And this is where all the magic happens. You were made in that very bed." She looked up realizing she might have been taking this conversation too far. "Thank god you don't understand mama right now, but that's okay. You're just like mama, I doesn't understand much of what mommy says when she gets into her Spanish tirades." She said, kissing the baby's head. She had to agree with Callie, she couldn't get enough kisses from her daughter. "Oh lord, your mommys going to teach you Spanish and you and her will be talking ninety miles and hour and mama will be mostly clueless as to what your saying." She said turning and walking out of the room and down to the nursery. "Okay, now time for the grand finale." She said opening the door to the nursery. "This is your room big girl. Look at what your mommy did. She painted this room all by herself, can you believe it? She's so talented isn't she? Yes she is." She said walking further into the room. "It's pretty great isn't it?" Arizona said, sitting down in the rocker by the window as she watched Callie walk around the back yard as the dogs still romped around. "Whoa.." She said when she heard a little rumble from her daughter. "Do you need a change?" She asked, checking the baby's diaper. "Charlee, good lord. You are too little to be doing things like this." She scrunched her nose. "I think this one belongs to mommy." She laughed as she stood up and walked over to the changing table to change her daughters diaper.

While changing her diaper the baby became fussy so Arizona tried to sooth the her, only nothing seemed to be working. "Come on baby." She said as the newborn continued to whimper. "What's wrong? You can't be hungry, I just fed you before we left the hospital." She said, sitting down in the rocker as the newborn searched for her food supply as the blonde held her to her chest. "Hold on." She said, pulling up her shirt to feed her daughter. After placing the baby comfortably in her arms, she watched as she latched on to her nipple. "How in the world are you hungry so soon?" She rocked them slowly in the rocker as she heard her wife enter the house again. "Ahh.. You weren't hungry were you, you just wanted something to sooth you to sleep." She cooed. "Cal?" She said hearing her wife come up the steps.

"Yeah?" Callie called out from the hallway.

"Where's her pacifier?" She asked as the brunette walked into the room.

"It's in her diaper bag." Callie said walking up behind her wife. "She not hungry?" She asked seeing her wife was trying to feed.

"No, she's just wanting something in her mouth. The boys?"

"They're downstairs. I figured I'd come up and take my girl from you because I know they'll attack you when they see you."

"Yeah." She said, gently standing from the chair, hoping she didn't startle the baby as she stood. "You take her and I'll run downstairs and say hi to them, then maybe you can bring her down and we'll see what they do?"

"Sounds good." The brunette said taking the baby from her wife. "Shhh..." She whispered when Charlee let out a light whimper. "Go back to sleep baby. Mama will get you your paci." She soothed as she began to hum to the baby when she heard Arizona and the dogs.

Just minutes later, the blonde yelled up to her wife for her to bring Charlee down. She had the dogs in the living room settled down somewhat. She was nervous introducing the boys to the baby because even though they were super protective of her during her pregnancy didn't mean they would take well to the infant.

"Maybe you should hold them back, you never know what they'll do." Callie said, making it to the bottom step.

The dogs knew something was different with their mama but they didn't know just what. When they heard Callie speaking they both raised from there place on the floor. Arizona kept a hold on their collars so they wouldn't rush the brunette with the little bundle in her arms.

"I got them."

"Hey guys." She said, walking into the room. Both dogs tried to go to her but the blonde had a good hold on them. "You wanna meet your sister?" She asked as she walked closer to them, yet on guard in case one was to jump. Both animals put their nose up sniffing the air around them. Callie put her hand down for the boys to sniff so they would get use Charlee's sent first. Sitting down on the coffee table in front of her wife and dogs, she held the baby close as she nodded for her wife to let them go.

Both were on alert as the dogs came into Callie's space as she held the baby. The brunette was ready to jump up at any minute if the dogs had any sign of agitation as was Arizona. Charlie and River sniffed the baby until she decided to kick out her legs when she felt a wet nose on the bottom of her foot. "This is your sister Charlee." The Latina said, rubbing each dogs head. Charlie came closer and sniffed the baby again, deciding it was a good time to lick her. "No." She pushed him back as River licked her feet. "No guys." She laughed. "We don't lick the baby." She said relieved that they weren't upset by her.

"She's what's been in mama's belly." Arizona patted her stomach, getting the pups attention causing them to turn around and sniff her before going back to Callie and the baby. "Well looks like they couldn't care less about me again." She chuckled with a yawn. "Can we go take a nap before everyone gets back? I think I could sleep for days."

"Yeah. Who knew having a baby would wear you out so quickly." The brunette smiled. "I'll go get her paci in case she wakes wanting it." She stood from the table and walked to the entrance of the room and grabbed the pacifier out of the diaper bag. "You want to put her in her crib or do you want to use the little mobile bed in our room?"

"I want to cuddle with her."

"You know that's not safe right?"

"Yes. I'm a pediatrician if you didn't know, but I just wanna spend some time with her before the grandparents get back and hog her." Arizona said, grabbing the baby's blanket off the chair. "That's when we can really sleep." She chuckled.

"Ahh, sleep... what is that again?" Callie asked as she walked up to the bedroom.

"I don't know." She said as she followed her into the room with the dogs hot on their trail.

"I'm going to lay her down and then change into something comfy." She said laying the baby in the middle of the bed. "You do that, while we lay here and take a nap." The blonde said, laying down beside the baby. "We're so sleepy, mommy." She yawned, snuggling with her new daughter.

"I'm so jealous." Callie whined, seeing how cute her wife was cuddling with their baby. "I think it's time for a family snuggle." She said, putting her shorts on and sliding in bed with wife and child. "This feels good." She said, resting her hand on the blondes hip.

"Mmhmm.."

"You know.. I was thinking about yesterday."

"What about it?" Arizona asked, never opening her eyes.

"With all the pain you had to go through, at least you didn't poo on the table." Callie laughed.

"Seriously?" Arizona looked at her wife. "Shut up." She rolled her eyes, but she couldn't help when a laugh escaped her lips. "I was terrible to you."

"It's okay. I'm tough. I can handle it for one day, but your mom." Callie threw her head back and laughed quietly. "I think she was a little taken back when you told her to grab your fucking leg." She whispered.

"Everybody was just happy go lucky with huge grins on their faces and it was pissing me off cause it hurt like hell."

"Hey, I hurt seeing you like that even if I couldn't stop smiling." The brunette said, squeezing the blondes hip before focusing her attention to the baby between them. "You are my beautiful hero." She winked at the blonde.

"I'm not."

"You are. Look what you brought into this world, she's just a little scrunched up bundle of joy."

"She is." Arizona looked down and admired her daughter for what felt like the thousandth time in two days. "You know. When I met you, you filled me so much. I didn't think I could have been any happier, then we really committed to each other by moving in this house. If it was even possible, I became even more happier and then we got engaged.. twice." She chuckled. "And then married and lastly pregnant." She looked from her daughter to her wife. Brushing the brunettes hair out of her face, she said. "I knew that I couldn't love or be more content and happy in my life with you. You, Callie have filled me with so many things since we've been together." She said leaning in and kissing her lips. "You know how people say, you'll love that person more in the future than you do this very second. I never believed that. Not with you, anyway. Because I loved you literally heart and soul.. till death and even after."

Callie took her eyes off her baby and looked up to her wife. Seeing tears glistening the the blondes blue orbs as she continued. "There was no way that love could get stronger. No way." She shook her head as Callie wiped a tear out of her eye. "I couldn't ever love anyone as much as I love you, but then yesterday afternoon this little miss was born and that just opened up a whole new world of love for me. One that I definitely never knew existed. Yet again, I was shown wrong. Somehow, I don't know how, but I love you even more, Calliope." She said, now wiping the tears off the brunettes cheeks. "You and Charlee are my family, you both complete me and filled me with joy that I didn't even know existed."

"I love you both too, Arizona." Callie said, cupping the side of her wife's neck. "Know that I love you as long as there are stars in the sky." She ran the pad of her thumb over the blondes jawline. "So quit trying to one up me with your little speeches. How the hell am I suppose to top that?"

"I'm sure you'll think of something."

"I know people say having a baby changes the dynamic of your marriage and sometimes it drives a wedge between you. Some partners get jealous because their wife is giving the baby more attention or whatever stupid thing that happens. But that's not us, I think if anything it has brought us closer together if that's possible." She smiled. "Our baby's needs should come first in anything and everything we do. I think we both agree on that."

"Yeah."

"But that doesn't mean that your needs get pushed aside either. I just want you to know that."

"I do." Arizona agreed. "Yours doesn't get pushed aside either. And don't think I didn't notice the way you looked at me this afternoon in the shower."

"You saw that, huh?" Callie laughed. "I can't help it." She shrugged. "It's natural instinct. When your naked, my body always reacts."

"All in good time love." The blonde patted her cheek. "All in good time."

"That's okay, we have a good shower head." Callie teased.

"As long as I can use the shower head on you I'm all for that."

"We may have to arrange that soon." she winked. "Get some rest babe, before you know it she'll be awake wanting to be fed." She said, kissing her on her forehead.

"Night."

"Night, love." Callie looked down between them. "And good night to you Mija." She leaned down and kissed her daughters wrinkled forehead. "Don't let the bed bugs bite."
