I am terribly sorry this took so long to write! Things have gotten a bit hectic here. I started watching Game of Thrones which is incredibly addicting, I'm currently on the second Divergent book, and I am still in school with finals week just around the corner. Also, I had a case of writer's block. It sucks for you guys and I am sorry. I will try to update quicker on the next chapter since I know what I want to do with that. And sorry this chapter is a little shorter than some of the others. There just needed to be a resolution to what has happened (though it is by no means fixed) there is a lot stuff in this chapter and I didn't want to overwhelm this chapter.

Since you guys have waited so long, I won't keep you from reading anymore of my ramblings. Please enjoy this chapter, let me know what you think, and keep on the lookout for the new chapter in about a week or two. I honestly don't know when it will be up. And remember, I don't own anything you recognize.

"Ursula,' James said tersely. "You said she woke up this morning." He accused harshly.

Ursula rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, "Yes, James, I said that Elyse woke up this morning. But she didn't join us for breakfast or the pregame meeting. I am not her keeper."

"That's me," Ben interjected, trying to diffuse some of the tension. All that got him was double the looks that promised death directed towards him.

"Listen," James hissed. "We have a game against Hufflepuff starting in five minutes and OUR BLOODY SEEKER IS MISSING! DO NOT MAKE JOKES RIGHT NOW!" James roared. He turned towards the rest of the team, "Someone find Remus, Peter, and Sirius and get them here yesterday. They'll go to look for her while we figure out our strategy now that we aren't going to be playing with our Seeker."

RJ and Christopher nodded and took off at a jog to find their fellow Gryffindors. James continued to pace back and forth, muttering Quidditch jargon under his breath. He would shove his hands through his hair, forwards and backwards and upwards.

"I think there is something seriously wrong with Lucky," Ben muttered to Ursula. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and rubbed small circles with his thumb to try to keep her calm.

She snorted, "No shit, Sherlock. What gave it away?"

Ben shook his head, "I don't mean like that. I mean mentally. There is more than her breaking up with her boyfriend."

"Maybe," Ursula conceded. "But we are her friends…if we didn't notice something…"

He kissed the side of her head and then nuzzled his nose in her uncontrollable mop of hair, letting the vanilla scent envelop him. "Love, if Elyse didn't want us to know something, how on Earth could we know about it?"

Ursula still disagreed, "We've known her for so long but right now I feel like I don't have a clue who my best friend is."

Ben was saved from answering since Sirius, Remus, and Peter showed up with the two Beaters.

"What's this about Lucky missing?" Sirius immediately demanded of James.

James, his face flushed, gritted out through clenched teeth, "It appears that Elyse has decided she isn't going to show up to the game. I want you to find her and get her here in fifteen minutes. I don't have if you have to petrify her, drag her here kicking and screaming…I don't care if you have to bloody imperious curse on her. Hell, figure out a way to apparate in the castle. Just. Get. Her. Here."

Remus nodded and pulled out the map and went searching for her that way while Sirius took a different approach. He quickly left the room and the second he was out of sight he transformed into his animagus form. He had quickly discovered that his sense of smell became sensitive when he was in his canine form. And considering he spent so much time around his friends, he was able to pick up their scent much quicker than he would normally if he was trying to find someone else.

Since almost everyone was at the game, Padfoot was able to run the halls without causing a ruckus or getting caught.

Sirius honestly loved his animagus form. He loved the speed, the freedom, the companionship that his species seemed to come by second nature. A few times, he had transformed for fun and he would go out on the lawn or in the courtyard with Ursula and they would chase each other in epic games of tag. Sometimes James or Ben would join them and throw them a stick or ball. It was degrading looking back on it but he couldn't deny that it was brilliant fun. That and James nor Ben never used it for blackmail.

It didn't take long to find her. She was near the kitchens. Her scent was incredibly strong there. But as he followed her path, another scent mixed with the green apples. Something more bitter and unpleasant to the nose. He turned the corner near the Hufflepuff Common Room and saw her half slumped against the wall trying to argue with a statue on the wall, one of the rare few that was animated.

He quickly turned back to his human state and coughed to get her attention.

"Sirius," Elyse slurred, "Wazz yeh doin' here?"

The muscle in his jaw twitched, "Elyse, are you pissed?" He demanded.

"NO!" She shouted as she swayed. "I'm…I'm happy. Unlike yeh, yeh serious Sirius." She stopped herself and then giggled. "Sirius is serious. So seriously serious is Sirius. He's so simply seriously serious that Sirius seriously serioused seriousness."

Sirius, sick and disgusted by her display grabbed her arm, effectively cutting her off. "You're bloody pissed. You idiot!"

"I'm not an idiot. I'm free! Free as a bird! A bloody dead bird who sees teh future," her bottom lip jutted out in what Sirius would consider an adorable action had it not been the same situation. Instead, infurated at the fact that she seemed to forget that she had a game, he shook her slightly.

"You're supposed to be playing Quidditch right now," he reminded her.

She blinked nine times before she nodded, "Yeah, I knew I's forgettin something."

"Forgot?" He asked disbelievingly. That was his breaking point. "FORGOT!? In case you forgot this as well, you are the only one on our team that can catch the snitch and end the game. Do you know what this means for the team? That now we are going to lose this game and might end up costing us the Cup?"

She waved him off, "We're gonna win ourselves a Cuppie, don'tcha worry."

"Me worry? What about James?" Sirius glared at her one last time before he got out the mirror and said James's name. Seconds later, an irate James took over the place his reflection.

"You find her?"

"Yup."

"Well why aren't you here? McGonagall was able to negotiate us ten more minutes before the start of the game."

"She's not coming James."

James's stony face was impossible to read. He cleared his throat and then made a show of cleaning out his ear, "I'm sorry, I must be going deaf. What did you just say?"

"She's not coming James. She's pissed."

"Well so am I but I won't kill her for this…at least, not until after the game."

"No, Jamsie," Elyse snatched the mirror out of Sirius's hands and held it obnoxiously close to her face. "Yer nose's differenter than Harry's. Gotta skinnier nose 'n he's got him some pretty eyes. Such green eyes. I love Lily's eyes. Am I in love wit Lily fer her eyes? Eyes're weird. Like, why can't tey see yer nose? Is it because yer nose's skinny? Yer nose should love itself fer woot it is. D'you feed it? Yer nose needs help, Jamsie." She slurred.

James's eyes were cold stones at that moment. He looked past Elyse at Sirius. "Get her confined and sober her up. We'll be back after the game."

"You're going to play without a seeker?"

"WHAT CHOICE DO I HAVE?" James shouted at his friend, one of the rare occasions he did. "JUST DEAL WITH HER!" With that, the mirror turned back to normal and Elyse became incredibly fascinated by her red hair.

Sirius snatched the mirror out of her hands muttered swears. He once again grabbed Elyse's arm and dragged her back to the Tower.

"UNHAND MEH!" She struggled. Realistically, she probably could have taken him or at least caused some damage. But considering her inebriated state, she could little more than stumble behind him. "Actually, don't unhand meh. I like me hands. They do stuff. Can I grow another hand if I want to? Peter gets unhanded and grows one back. I want a third."

Gritting his teeth, Sirius forced himself to not shout back. He dragged her through the thankfully empty hallways and into the Tower and up to the boys' dorm without interruption. He shoved her inside and she tumbled onto James's bed. She giggled to herself. "I'm teh wrong red head James wants here."

Sirius growled at her, "Shut the hell up!"

Elyse immediately shot up but swayed as she did so, "Do yeh know who yer talking to…three, five, four, six, seven. Seven's a wonky word. Seven. Seeeeeeeeven. Sevvvvvvvvvvvven. SEven." Her words were barely understandable with her accent thicker than Sirius had heard it in years. "Sevensevensevenseven. It sounds like Sev when yeh say it fast. Sev. Like Severus Snape. Snape. Snape. Severus Snape. Snape. Snape. Severus Snape. DUMBLEDORE!" She screamed.

Sirius jumped at the unexpected, inhuman noise. "What the bloody hell was that for?"

"Dumbledore dies," Elyse admitted weakly. Her outburst earlier seemed to drain her. She collapsed ungracefully on the ground. "Harry sees it. Green light 'n then he flies like a bird then boom!" She made an obnoxious hand gesture that was equal parts flying bird, equal part huge explosion as she rolled onto her back.

Realizing that Elyse was openly speaking about what she had seen, Sirius took a split second to decide to crouch in front of her. He placed his hand on her shoulders, "What happens? Tell me and I'll be able to change it."

She waved him off, almost accidentally hitting him in the process. "Yeh don't need ter worry aboot it. Yer dead already."

That was semi unexpected. He cleared his throat and shook his head. He didn't need to know about that, "Okay. But I can warn someone before I die. Someone who gets to the end of the war."

She snorted, "Yer funny. Yeh actually think any o' us makes ter teh end? Ha! Teh first one, yeh. Teh second one…yer all dead by teh end. One little Marauder dies fer her friend, one dies fer his wife, one fer twin, one—"

"Twin," Sirius cut her off. "What the hell are you talking about." He demanded harshly.

She madly laughed, sounding borderline hysterical, "Yup, yup, yupity yup. Yer twinie goes out 'd dies. No more Ursula. No more twin. Just dead. That's all we're going towards in teh end. Being dead. Ursula happens ter beat yeh out. She's always aboot winning. Then Jamesie goes 'n dies. Yer really a mess after that. I mean how couldn't yeh be? It was practically yer fault. If yeh'd just listened ter Ursula but yeh didn't 'n yer brother 'n yer twin pay teh price. If only Paddy'd listened."

"SHUT UP!" Sirius roared. "YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING!"

Elyse sat upright and glared at him, though her focus was slightly off. "NO! I WILL NOT BE SILENCED! I've seen things, Sirius. Snape, Snapity, Snape's gonna see half 'o us die. He don't care."

"Does he make it?" He snarls. "Tell me one of us gets our revenge."

Elyse shook her head, "Nope. Lordy Voldy snakey gets nomsey 'n noms on Snape. Do snakes think people're nomsical? Why'd a snake attack a Slytherin? It's dumb 'n stupid. This is all dumb and stupid," her voice got so quiet that she was nearly whispering by the end of her sentence.

"What do you mean?"

"Everyone dies, Sirius. I've seen it all 'n some of us don't've that long left. We're going ter leave yeh 'n Remus 'n Peter all alone 'n I can't…I'm scared."

Sirius felt like his chest was about the crack in half, "The three of us?" he asked in a tight voice. "We're the only three?"

She nods. "It's so horrible. Why can't any of us make to the end? What's the point of us if we're just going to die? It's not like any of us actually accomplish anything! All we do is live and die and I don't think it's worth it sometimes."

"Oh, God, Elyse, you are worth it," Sirius whispered.

She shook her head, "I see everyone mourn but never fer me; I'm not worth it. Yer all able ter bounce back."

"Elyse," Sirius said sharply. He grabbed her hands and held them tightly in his own. "Don't for a second think that we wouldn't care. I can tell you right now that Ursula would be near inconsolable. James wouldn't be able to sleep at night. Peter would be lost without you. Ben would probably destroy half the building he was in when he finds out. Remus would run away and cry his heart out."

She nodded and seemed to contemplate his answers. Sirius knew that she was so drunk that she probably wasn't even thinking of what he just said. She was probably planning some other ridiculous thing to say but when she opened her mouth, she astounded him with what she said, "Woot aboot yeh? If I died, woot would yeh do?"

"Elyse…" he shook his head, not even wanting to think of that.

She grabbed at his face painfully but held it close to her own, "I need ter know woot yeh'd do if I died. I need ter know yeh'd miss meh. I need ter hear that someone will mourn meh after I die because I lost Pat. I ain't never lost someone I love before. I don't know how ter make it better. I'm so broken right now 'n I just want ter be whole again."

Her ramblings didn't make complete sense to him but that didn't stop a painful jolt in his chest at hearing she loved another. He leaned forward and kissed her forehead, letting his lips rest against her skin for far longer than what would be considered appropriate between friends. He pulled back and gathered her into his arms.

"I swear to you, I will never forget you. I'm a bastard and a blood traitor and I could never give you what you want and deserve but I still…" he paused and swallowed loudly. "I believe that we all have good and bad in us. It's which side we choose to act on. Know that you are one of the reasons that good exists in me. Without you, I would be lost to the darkness so please, please, I will beg you, do not die because…Elyse O'Brian I—"

He was cut off by a monstrous snore. He looked down to see that Elyse had promptly passed out drunk. She snuggled into his shoulder and mumbled something incoherent. Grumbling to himself, he put one arm around her back and another under her knees before standing. He stood in the middle of his room, looking at all the empty beds. Knowing that putting her in his own was out of the question, he looked at his options. James is probably plotting a million ways to kill her so his bed was out of the question. Elyse might feel uncomfortable waking up in her best friend's boyfriend's bed so that was out. Peter's bed was a complete mess like it usually was so that left one option; Remus's bed.

Gently, he laid her down. She immediately made herself comfortable and grabbed one of the pillows to snuggle. A strand of hair cross her face. Sirius gently reached out as to not disturb her slumber and tucked it behind her ear. "What are we going to do with you?" He questioned no one in particular.

Knowing it would only be a matter of time before the rest of them showed back up from the game. Until then, he would occupy himself with doing his Transfiguration homework so Minnie didn't kill him on Monday.

It didn't take long for the others to come back. James stormed in first, the promise of murder on his face. "Where is she?" He ordered in a no nonsense tone.

Sirius sighed dramatically, "Or hello as they used to say. She's passed out drunk on Remus's bed. She's having a real problem with this vision stuff," he admitted softly to James.

The anger drained slightly from James's face. "What do you mean?"

"She was rambling, I could barely understand her with her bloody accent but from what I go there is going to be a lot of death in the next few years for us…and apparently she's near the top of the list."

"Who else?" James asked in a similar tone as Sirius was using.

Ursula and the others had walked up to them at this point and it unnerved them slightly to hear the pair speak. They usually spoke with such joy and mischievousness in their voice. Now they sounded like old men with the weight of the world on their shoulders.

"James…"

"Who else did she mention."

Sirius looked at Ursula and Ben. James felt like he had been punched in the gut. He looked at them, not able to imagine his life without them. In that moment he swore on all that he knew, on his own life, on everything he held dear, he was going to save them. He wasn't going to lose them, any of them. But then he looked at Sirius and saw his metal eyes looking straight back at him with a world of pain and regret.

He oddly didn't feel anything after he made the connection on why Sirius was looking at him like that; he was on the list. He was going to die sometime in the possibly near future. But at the moment, that wasn't the pressing matter. No, their friend who had drank herself into a stupor and missed the game was passed out in his dorm.

"I'm going to talk to her. Remus, make sure I don't kill her," he motioned for Remus to follow. Remus dutifully followed.

Sirius turned towards his twin and Ben and asked, "So how badly did we lose?"

Ursula snorted and practically threw herself onto the sofa, "We actually won."

Ben motioned for Ursula to scot over. Once he was situated on the couch, she threw her legs over his and he absentmindedly massaged her calf muscles.

Shocked, Sirius bounded over to the adjacent armchair and plopped down, "No shit, how'd you guys pull that one off?"

As Ursula and Ben recounted the play by play and how they ended up with a lead high enough that when the other seeker caught the snitch, it wasn't a loss, no one noticed the small little rat that had made himself comfortable under the chair Sirius was sitting in, giving himself the perfect vantage point to observe the object of his affections.

The next morning, Sirius was half asleep as he dragged himself to the Great Hall. He had accidentally fallen asleep in the Common Room and his neck was loudly protesting.

"Yeh look worse than I feel," Elyse said from across the table.

Sirius simply stared at her. Her hair looked a proper mess and there were dark circles under her bloodshot eyes. Her hand were shaking as she tried to drink some of her tea. She smiled tentatively at Sirius, "James ripped me a new one last night 'n told meh I said some stuff. I don't remember anythin' but I still want ter apologize if I said anythin' offensive."

That was the most she had spoken to him in close to two months. He almost wanted to cry in relief. He wanted to jump up and pull her into a hug. He wanted to admit to her everything he had said yesterday. But one look into her still heart broken eyes and he caught himself. Instead, he settled for a small smile of his own and said, "Nothing to apologize for."

Elyse nodded disbelievingly but went back to her breakfast. A thought was gnawing at him so he burst, "Elyse?"

She winced slightly at the loudness of his voice, "Woot?"

He rubbed the back of his neck and tried to think of a way to word it. "You know that if you ever need to talk to someone about…anything, I'm here for you. Right?"

Elyse nodded, though she was incredibly confused by the offer. Before he could say anything else, James appeared out of seemingly nowhere next to him and clapped him on his shoulder.

"Wonderful you're here already!"

Elyse flinched at his loud exclaimation, "Could yeh keep it down?" she begged.

"What?" James said in the same volume. "I couldn't hear you. My hearing must have been damaged from a bludger hit yesterday."

"Great, just what you need, more brain damage," Ursula jibbed as she stole a piece of toast from Sirius's plate.

"Shut it Muse, I still got the goal."

"Only because RJ hit the Keeper with a bludger."

"Anyway," James emphasized, "Peter and I have a brilliant plan for a prank. It involves the Sorting Hat…."
