Hi, here's chapter 5. Please, please review, it would definitely help the future chapters of this fic. Plus I have no idea if anyone likes it.
Chapter 5
The first week of Beca and Chloe's leave had passed in a haze of family time, dates, and sleepovers *wink*. Both Beca and Chloe had suffered from dreams and panic attacks, mainly in private and the award ceremony and parade was the day before they went back to Helmand. The second week, however, was going to be a lot more eventful.
Beca and Chloe had decided to go to a restaurant for one of their last dates before travelling back to Helmand. The date started normally, the two complimenting each other, laughing and joking and kissing over the table. The two were most loved up together, but neither had told the other their true feelings, they would that night though.
The pair had eaten their starters for their meal, and Beca needed to go to the bathroom, so naturally, she went. Unfortunately, she didn't realise she was quickly followed to the bathroom, by none other than Stacie Conrad, her last girlfriend, who was head over heels for Beca. This love though, was unrequited, and the relationship ended almost as soon as it started.
"Well, hey there soldier." Stacie said as Beca came out of her cubicle, leaning against the sink.
"Oh, hi Stacie." Beca said shortly, hoping to end the conversation quickly and get back to Chloe.
"Why didn't you tell me you were back?" Stacie asked, attempting to prolong their conversation.
"Because we haven't talked for 6 months and we aren't together Stacie." Beca replied, her anger rising, why did Stacie have to stalk her?
"But, but, I'm in love with you Beca" Stacie muttered.
"Stacie, how many times, I don't feel the same way about you, and I don't want to get back together, I'm with someone else now." Beca replied quickly, her voice rising.
"Do you love her?" Stacie asked sarcastically.
"I, er, well..." Beca muttered.
"Well come on" Stacie half shouted, obviously hurt that Beca was definitely over her.
"Yes" Beca snapped, really wishing she could get back to Chloe now.
"But don't you miss me?" Stacie whispered as she walked seductively toward Beca, remembering how much she turned Beca on.
"I, no" Beca whispered honestly.
"Are you sure?" Stacie asked, inches from Beca's face.
"Yes" Beca pleaded, she really didn't miss Stacie at all, but this was making her weak at the knees.
"I don't believe you" Stacie said, and swooped down.
Meanwhile, Chloe was sat at her table, wondering what was taking Beca so long, and if she was okay. Making her mind up, she stood up and walked toward the bathroom. She opened the door to see a girl she didn't know kissing HER girlfriend, causing anger to well up inside Chloe, how could Beca do this to her? But then this anger subsided as Beca pushed the girl away and began to yell.
"GODAMMIT STACIE, HOW MANY TIMES?! I'M NOT INTO YOU ANYMORE, I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND, I LOVE HER, YET YOU'RE SO DETERMINED TO TRY AND RUIN THAT!" Beca yelled in a voice Chloe had never heard before, and turned to storm out of the bathroom only to stop in her tracks as she saw Chloe stood there.
"Chloe, I don't know how much you saw, but she kissed me, I never kissed her back, I wouldn't." Beca stuttered, going red and looking at the floor, afraid that Chloe wouldn't believe her despite her outburst. Chloe reached out and took Beca's hand, pulling her out of the bathroom and giving Stacie the finger before marching Beca out the restaurant and down a small side street. Beca braced herself for a breakup she thought was imminent, but had a pleasant surprise when Chloe wrapped her arms around Beca and whispered in her ear, "It's okay, I believe you, you had no idea I was there, so that shouting wasn't acting."
Beca breathed a sigh of relief and hugged Chloe back. Chloe pulled back and kissed Beca deeply, getting kissed back as the pair bonded further, Stacie wasn't going to break them.
"Also, I heard everything you said Becs, and I should tell you," Chloe whispered, pulling out of the kiss, but keeping her face millimetres from Beca's, "I love you too Beca."
The two kissed again and walked back into the restaurant to finish their meal, hand in hand, finally able to show the love shared between them.
"You know," Beca said, muffled against Chloe's stomach as the pair cuddled on Chloe's mum's couch, watching The Shawshank Redemption, "I'm really not a big fan of films."
"What?!" Chloe asked, shocked. They were watching a film right now.
"I like some, like this one is great, because it's so meaningful and you don't actually know how it's going to play out until the very end. But others, urgh, they're so predictable." Beca replied.
"Yeah, I get what you mean, I do prefer books." Chloe said, and at this, Beca shot up, staring Chloe wildly in the eyes. "What?" Chloe asked, laughing.
"I love books, the way you can just get lost in them and forget about any problems you have." Beca said, extremely happy that her girlfriend liked books too.
"Me too, want to read one then?" Chloe asked, still laughing.
"Err, yes!" Beca replied, and kissed Chloe before jumping off the couch and running to Chloe's room, scanning the book shelves there. She picked a book and gave it to Chloe to read aloud as Beca snuggled into her.
"Hmm, good book, good choice Beca." Chloe said as she scanned the cover of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
"I know," Beca hummed, feeling very pleased with herself, "I'm glad you like Harry Potter Chlo"
"Me too Becs"
"Chloe?"
"Yeah babe?"
"I love you"
"I love you too. Chapter one. The Boy Who Lived. 'Mr and Mrs Dursely, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much.'"
Beca closed her eyes, snuggled deeper into Chloe and couldn't have felt happier with her life and relationships.
