"Fuck…" Joey mutters as the rabbit draws closer.
"H-h-hey now, no bad words at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza." The rabbit tilts its head to the side, looking at all three kids; standing and waiting.
Slowly, Joey leans over to Danny and Rose.
"What should we do?"
"Well I don't know about you Joey, but I think he needs a hug." Danny says, nudging the boy forward a bit.
"What? Woah, no; not happening!" Joey exclaims, swatting his hands away.
The rabbit continues to stand there, staring at the kids silently before moving stepping its heavy, purple left foot forward. Chills run down Rose's spine; in fear, she walks a little behind Danny and Joey, clearing her throat.
"Guys…what do we do?" Asks Rose, looking to her right to find that Danny is pacing a few steps back in the dark room. Upon reaching the back corner, directly underneath the camera, he turns around, dashing forward and shoving the Asian boy directly into Bonnie; Joey staggering a bit before looking up to find one of Bonnie's purple arms grabbing onto his shirt deep purple collar.
"Aw, d-does somebody need a hug?" The rabbit's overly-jolly voice echoes through the small room; basically drilling itself into the Rose's ears as she watches in sheer horror as the rabbit clasps its other hand around Joey's back, lifting him up and carrying him towards Danny and Rose. With split-second timing, Danny grabs hold of Rose's arm, hops onto the table with her in tow, and bolts off the far corner, landing in front of the door, opening it and pulling Rose outside.
"Ah!" Joey screams, tears welling in his reddening eyes. The boy's face turns a dark shade of purple as the rabbit continues to squeeze his body before dropping him on the cold, checkerboard black and white tile. Color soon begins to return to the boy's face as he scrambles on the ground; backing into the very corner Danny shoved him from just moments before as Bonnie slams a large, seemingly empty Freddy Fazbear suit onto the table, removing it's head and turning to face the scrawny string bean of a boy.
"Now now you know the rules here at Freddy Fazbear's pizza; no naked bandmates allowed, especially around the children!"
"W-what? But I AM a child, there's a robot skeleton thing there on the table!" Joey sobs, one hand rubbing his bruised neck as the other moves to wipe the non-ending stream of tears gushing from his eyes.
The rabbit ignores Joey's valid statement, hunching forward and picking the boy up with ease. Joey's squirms and struggles are in vain as Bonnie slams him onto the table; the back of the boy's head hitting a crossbeam inside the suit and causing him to lose consciousness, his body going limp. Bonnie resumes his act by raising the boy once more, lifting him into the air and steadily lowering his body into the suit. The rabbit places his hand on the zipper and slowly begins to pull it up slowly, the sickening snap of the boy's ribcage now echoing throughout the room with each zip pulled together; animating the boy once more as his screams fill the room.
"Ah!" Joey wails through choppy, pained breaths. "A-Allie…Mom…ah! No!" The sounds of Joey's resistance are cut to a near mute as the rabbit lowers the fuzzy brown bear head onto his light brown head; one final shriek escaping the boy's mouth. With some resistance, Bonnie slams the costume head down to kiss the rest of the outfit, the compression forcing his dark brown eyes out of their sockets and through they eyeholes of the outfit; his off-yellow teeth now broken and jagged, peeking out beneath the costumes mouth.
"Huh-ha, there we go; all better." Bonnie chuckles to himself as the lights flicker, each illumination giving a dark emphasis on the limp, animatronic Joey.
…
"What the hell was that about?" Rose yells, slapping Danny.
"We got away, didn't we?"
"You straight up sacrificed Joey! Who knows what you just did by doing that? Dammit Danny, you have done some fucked up shit since I've known you, but this shit is the fuckest, upest."
"Oh come on, who knows what happened to him? He's probably fine anyway; we're in a family restaurant Rose; it's not like Joey's in any real danger."
Danny is interrupted by the ear-splitting sounds of Joey's screams. Instinctively, Rose places her hands on the doorknob, hurriedly trying to open it before Danny places his hand against it.
"We're not going in there."
"But Joey!"
"Was an asshole and deserves what he's getting; I bet he didn't even know how to purple." Danny says somberly, placing his hands on each of Rose's shoulders. "It sucks what happened to Joey, but it was a necessary sacrifice for us to get away."
"Still…" Rose mutters, her eyes still open and mind reeling as she imagines what may have happened to their former friend in the other room; the sheer trauma of the situation making it hard for her to accept it. "Let's just get back to the office; they have to have a phone here or something."
"Fine." Danny and Rose turn away from the door, heading in the direction of the hallway.
…
"Funny…that wasn't there before." Keanu announces, staring deeply into the monitor. The screen reads CAM 5 and displays the backstage section of the restaurant.
"What wasn't?" April wonders aloud, peering at the screen and noticing the large, rather limp Freddy Fazbear suit sitting on the table. "That is weird."
"Oh well, whatever, let's just keep scrolling." Keanu continues to flip through the channel, at first glossing over the showstage before getting a weird sinking feeling and flipping back. "Okay…apparently Chica's gone."
"Interesting." April touches her fingertip to her lip in contemplation as the sound of hurried footsteps make their way down the left hallway. "The others must be back already." Slowly, the French girl peers around the doorframe of the hallway to find Danny and Rose running toward her. "It's Danny and Rose!" She yells back to Keanu.
"Agh! Dammit this is such a small room; don't yell." Keanu says, rubbing his ears in pain.
"Hey guys, what's up? April asks as the two best friends walk into the room, ignoring Keanu's statement.
"We have a lot to talk about." Rose says, her body still trembling from their encounter with Bonnie.
…
"I really wish we didn't have to use these dumb flashlights; this place is even creepier during the night." Tobie says, not really speaking to anyone but feeling comfort in hearing his own voice. He shines his light along the hallway, passing the picture Krystal had seen change earlier; said girl tailing him.
"Yeah, it is, it's a wonder I've never been here during the day, is it any better then?" She asks, shining her light on the dirty wall to her right and grimacing.
"This place? Wouldn't know, never been here before. Their old location off the 60 was pretty amazing from what I remember. Danny, Rose, Keanu, and I went there like every day till they closed down. It was only open for like two weeks…but it was a fun place regardless. Our parents never let us come to this place after it opened though. They always said it wasn't safe or that they didn't trust it."
"Because of what happened six years ago? The bite thing?"
"Maybe…but I was referring to the missing kids." He says, shining his light around the dining area and noting that Bonnie is still missing. "That's still so weird…but yeah, there were a bunch of kids who went missing at that place; apparently something else happened at the one before it too. Don't know much about either though."
"Missing kids?" Krystal frowns, the severity of those words setting in. "That's awful…what do you think happened?"
"That's just it, no one really knows. It's been passed around our schools for the past six years so many times that it's basically a campfire story with so many versions." The two continue their trek, turning right into the bathroom hallway. "My favorite was about Chica's hunger."
"Chica's hunger?"
"Yeah, basically the story goes like this: you know how Chica wears a bib with "Let's Eat!" on it?"
"Sure, I guess. Not familiar with this place, remember."
"Well she does; anyway, the story goes that any kid who broke the rules and stuck around after closing would be found by Chica Chicken, taken to the kitchen, and eaten alive. Five kids went missing; five kids were devoured by the animatronics. It goes on to say that Foxy recognized that the building was closing down and he would no longer have children to eat, so he took a rather large bite out of the nearest thing, aiming for a child but attacked the security guard instead."
"That's awful! That isn't true…is it?"
"No, I'm sure that robots don't eat." Tobie kids, rolling his eyes and walking into the girl's bathroom. "But that last part was; not with Foxy but the guard taking a hit. That actually happened."
"Wow, that's…actually pretty sad. He lived though, right?"
"If you can call that living."
Krystal opens one of the stalls, unraveling a handful of pieces from the toilet paper and wadding it in her hand, and grabbing a few more to blow her nose into.
"So what grade are you in anyway?" Tobie asks, washing his face in the sink, the cold water of the sink easing the burn of the stuffy bathroom. "I don't think I've seen you in school before."
"Freshman, we literally just moved in yesterday though so I haven't had a chance to even start school yet; we were going to get to that on Monday. "You?"
"Really now?" Tobie chuckles, smiling as he pulls three thin brown paper towels from the dispenser on the wall and rubs them along his hands. "Looks like you're gonna have a bit of company with the rest of us. Everyone here except for Drew and James are freshmen as well; you'll fit right in," The blond drops the paper towels on the floor, reaching into his hoodie and pulling out a bright purple beanie; placing it on his head.
"Cool hat." Krystal says sarcastically with a sly smile.
"Right? I feel I look classy as a motherfucker."
"Totally classy."
"Haha, yeah…we should probably be heading back now." Tobie says, looking at his watch; fuck we spent twenty minutes doing this."
Just as the two are about to leave the bathroom, Ken dashes in, immediately hiding behind his two friends.
"Ken? What's wrong?" Tobie turns to face the tan boy, his usually flawless face having been scratched to hell and caked in dirt and sweat.
"I-it was…horrible…I don't know where Drew or James went, but that yellow duck thing chased me into the bathroom!"
"Chicken."
"Excuse me?"
"She's a chicken, not a duck."
"Oh my God Tobie! That really doesn't matter, look; it's probably on its way here right now!" Ken's whispered tone raises a bit as he says this before he pulls Tobie and Krystal into the farthest stall with him. The flamboyant youth looks to each side, neither of his compatriots appear happy with their cramped situation.
"What's so bad about Chica following you anyway? They're just kid's entertainment robots."
"You don't get it, we took a detour when we went to get Danny and Rose. The three of us were just outside smoking and talking and staring at James. He told me he wanted me to tone down my flirting around him because it creeped him out a bit before going back inside with Big Mamba; I mean Drew." Ken's lip trembles, telling the story has obviously begun to take its toll as tears begin to well his eyes and seep into his cuts; making him cringe. He raises one hand and uses it to wipe his hazel eyes. "Last I saw, James ran to the Kitchen to hide and that bird thing chased me in here; it almost had me but I clawed away."
"What the fuck?" Krystal stammers, unsure of what to make of Ken's story. Just as Ken is about to clarify, the small light from the hallway flickers off. The three teens hold their breath, unable to see one-another, much less inches from their face. What few minutes go by feel like hours to the kids. Chills run up Krystal's spine at the sound of heavy metal pressing against the tile floor.
THUD
THUD
THUD
THUD
"Oh God…" Ken whines, burying his face in Tobie's arm as the thudding stops directly in front of the stall. The bare outline of two tube-like legs can barely be made out in the darkness.
"What the hell do we do now Tobie?" Krystal whispers, a sense of urgency in his voice.
"How the fuck am I supposed to know?"
"I don't know, I figured you'd have some idea since you got us into this mess!"
"Shh, keep it down you two; we don't want it to hear us!" Ken's voice comes out a bit louder than it was means to as the bathroom light flickers on as dim as possible; this gives the small bathroom an off-green, creepy color. The stall door creeks open slowly, the three teens staring in horror at the hulking yellow mass that is Chica. The light above them flickers on and off, the bulky chicken robot leaning closer with each illumination; towering over the teens. Krystal and Tobie look at one another then down to the floor.
"Ken…follow our lead." Krystal says, nodding at Tobie
"Wait what? No what do you mean?" The boy asks, panicking.
"On my count." Tobie says, nodding back. "One…two…three!"
In a split second Tobie ducks down, crouching and rolling into the stall on the right as Krystal duckwalks to the right. Ken looks to his left and right, horrified that his friends have left. His gaze shifts back to the animatronic in front of him as the lights flicker off one final time; Chica darting in for the kill as Ken lets out a blood-curtling cry.
The blond and brunette both escape their stalls, darting to the bathroom exit before turning back to witness Chica leaning forward, two ear-splitting screams emanate from the stall. Tobie's clicks his flashlight on, shining it on the stall in time to see blood fly onto the ceiling, causing his jaw to drop. He continues to stare as his friend is no doubt eviscerated behind the walls of the bathroom stall.
"Tobie…" Krystal's voice is faint, almost completely tuned out by the sheer terror the teens are witnessing.
"Tobie!" She tries once more, louder this time.
"TOBIE!" Krystal yells, grabbing hold of his arm and pulling back. "We need to leave now!" The boy's head shakes as he looks around, noting Krystal, whose voice appears to have attracted Chica's attention. The large bird turns around, it's formerly white "Let's Eat" bib now stained with crimson-brown fluid; leaking on the floor as it makes its way over to them.
"What? Oh sorry, fuck let's get out of here."
As the two kids make a dash back to the security room, they take notice of Danny and Rose running from the opposite direction, heading down the other hallway.
"What are they running from?" Krystal asks, bolting around the corner and down the left hallway.
"Who cares? Just run!" Tobie answers, picking up speed and passing her up, trying hard to ignore the loud clanking and screams coming from the kitchen as he makes his way into the hallway.
