Olivia woke the next morning happily nestled in a sleeping Fitz's arms. She groaned remembering the night before. She was both excited and dreading telling her siblings as only the baby of the family can. Excitement that she was going to be released from the hospital soon regulated her mood.
They hadn't even been able to spend one night in their house. Almost as if he could sense her brain running Fitz woke up and started drumming his fingers on her back to let her know he was awake. Snuggling her face into his chest,
"Thanks for staying with me last night. I don't think I would have been able to sleep alone." She said.
"I know I wouldn't have been able to, I am so glad you're going home today." Fitz told her pulling her closer to him, as if that were possible.
"I can't wait Livvie."
Before they knew it a new nurse was coming in to release her, she gathered everything that Fitz had brought her and finally they wheeled her out the doors. Olivia called Claudia to tell everyone that she was on the way home, but she didn't answer.
"Voicemail." Olivia announced as Fitz drove towards the house.
"Ew." Fitz scrunched his face.
"Why… oh god. Why is everyone getting laid in our house but us?" Olivia asked petulantly, causing Fitz to burst out laughing. He never thought he would find a woman that had sex on the brain as often as he did, which was most of the time, but his Livvie managed to keep up with him.
"As soon as there's no chance of your stitches tearing we will rectify that." He promised her when she calmed down.
"Honey I'm home." Olivia yelled cheerily when they walked through the garage door, she shook her head thinking Fitz was really rubbing off on her. She didn't hear a lot of commotion, but than all at once she heard rapid footsteps headed her way. Boo was first to get to her quickly followed by Scarlett than Cammie. Scarlett was about to throw herself at Olivia, but Fitz quickly scooped her up, worried that she would be hurt.
"Hey sweet pea, did you have fun with Cammie?" Olivia ask the girl who was squirming around in Fitz's arms, before she could answer Fitz had her giggling madly as she hung upside down in his arms, she shook her head in the affirmative. Cammie stayed at the hospital for a while, but once Olivia was out of the woods Cammie wouldn't bear to be there much longer.
As kids they had spent a lot of time in hospitals visiting people that had been injured working for Eli, but for Cammie it was worse, the fighting hit an all time high around the time she was four and most of her first memories revolved around seeing people that protected her in the hospital, it left her terrified. Olivia understood, and appreciated that Cammie brought Scarlett to see her.
"We had a great time, this one is going to be quite the little artist, and she's going to help me decorate. Right?" Cammie asked her, and again the girl nodded still giggling madly.
"Where is everyone?" Olivia asked wanting to sit everyone down and break the news fast so they would have a lot of time to deal before Maya and Dominick showed up at the house.
"Abby and Michael went to her place after Claudia mocked their, uhm volume." Cammie said blushing a little as she fumbled for an appropriate explanation in front of Scarlett, who by now had been turned right side up and was paying attention to the conversation. They moved over to the island in the kitchen and sat down as Cammie continued.
"Claudia and Harrison are still in bed, in the guest house, that they kicked me out of and Huck is… taking a walk outside." Once again she was looking for ways to sugar coat her explanations in front of Scarlett.
"He should have taken Boo, he loves walks!" Scarlett said and Cammie and Olivia smiled knowing that, for now at least, they had successfully shielded her.
"I'm going to call everyone in, we need to have a family meeting."
Later as they all sat in the living room Olivia, with Fitz's encouragement, told everyone what was going on with Maya. They all reacted differently, Michael with shock relief, certainly his mother couldn't have a problem with him being with Abby if she was busy with her own romance. Claudia demanding DNA testing hoping that they weren't actually related to Eli, Harrison looking at her with appreciation, and Huck had no reaction at all, leading Olivia to assume he already knew.
After everyone had settled down Fitz went off to look for Olivia. He hadn't seen her since she asked Abby and Cammie to take Scarlett out for a while so she could have a family meeting.
He knew Olivia would have told him if she went to bed and he didn't see her come back down stairs. He walked into their bedroom and saw that she had changed her clothes. The pajamas she'd worn home from the hospital were in the hamper. Hoping that she wasn't unpacking he checked the closet, until he heard her humming.
Following the sound he found her sitting in their bathtub. She was wearing one of his old navy sweaters, he couldn't see what was underneath because the gray sweater dwarfed her body. He watched her laying back, her legs outstretched in front of her, in the empty tub with her eyes closed.
"Hi." She said without opening her eyes.
"Hi." He answered her standing next to the tub, "you know you're supposed to use water, and one is usually naked."
"Yes well I can't sit in a bath or a hot tub because of my stitches and I've wanted to sit in this bath for over a month so..." He could tell she was disappointed. When they looked at pictures of the house and Olivia saw the large square Jacuzzi tub she immediately went online to have it replaced saying it was ostentatious. He was resistant at first thinking about how much fun they could have in the tub but when he saw what Olivia wanted to replace it with he jumped on board.
The tub she was sitting in now was a long oval, he could stretch his legs out completely, with claw feet, but it still had jets. He climbed into the opposite side of the tub and faced her. Stretching out the same was she had.
"Comfy." He joked as he leaned his head back. He saw a small smirk line her lips. "I still think we should be naked." A full blown smile stretched across her face as she laughed at him.
"You're such a cheese ball." She told him.
"You love cheese!" He retorted.
"I love you." She finally opened her eyes when she told him, allowing them to make eye contact. She didn't say it often but when she did it made his breath hitch.
"I love you too Livvie." They sat there grinning at each other. Olivia's moment of sadness long gone. Before they could do anything else they heard a bunch of pounding footsteps than a soft knock at the bedroom door. After rolling her eyes and looking at Fitz, she told whoever was at the door to come in, though she knew it was Claudia. She was the only person that would bound up the steps, making it sound like a Clydesdale had been set free in the house, than go on to tap at a door so softly.
"Where are you?" She yelled. Olivia was too busy rolling her eyes to answer so Fitz called out,
"Bathroom."
"Ew." She heard followed by Claudia coming in with her hand covering her eyes and groping the wall.
"You can open your eyes drama queen we aren't naked." Olivia said, she heard Fitz mutter 'yet' under his breath and she shook her head.
"Why not?" She said than she opened her eyes, "you guys are so weird." She informed them. Unable to disagree they just exchanged a look and shrugged in sync.
"Harrison and I are going to run out and grab some groceries and stuff, you guys have nothing in that ridiculous fridge," Olivia had ordered a professional grade one that had plenty of room for all the cooking she would be doing at holidays and when her family came to visit. "Abby and Cammie are back with ankle biter junior and Michael wants Fitz to help him put in the gate at the end of the driveway."
"I figured wed hire someone, that's a lot of work, plus the ground is frozen." Olivia said, not because she didn't think they couldn't handle it, but because all she wanted to do was curl up in Fitz's arms and watch some more TV and relax, she couldn't do that if he was outside, she definitely wouldn't relax thinking about him out there lifting things and digging and getting all sweaty.
"I don't mind Livvie." Fitz said, causing Olivia to quickly kick him and give him a look, "but hiring someone seems like a good idea, we need to make sure its done right after all." Fitz covered causing Claudia to roll her eyes at his attempt.
"Kay well while you convince Michael of that, I'm going to go find a giant bottle of xanax for the family to share for when Mom and her lover get here." Claudia said emphasizing lover as putting on an accent when she said it.
"Ew please don't call him that." Olivia said grossed out.
"How long do you think she's been cheating on Dad, I mean do we really need DNA tests? God I hope this guy has my nose, not being related to Eli would make my life so much easier!" Claudia said causing Olivia to laugh, the thought didn't occur to her, she was much more caught up with the idea that her mother had been cheating on her father and that seemed to be the most normal thing to happen in their family dynamic in a while.
"Claude!" they heard Harrison yelling from down stairs,
"Don't get your panties in a wad, I'm coming!" She hollered back causing Olivia to wince.
"So your boyfriend wears panties huh? I always thought Harrison was kind of pretty." Fitz said teasing Claudia.
"Says the man with the curls and the baby blues. You afraid you wont be the prettiest one in the house anymore?" She immediately shot back and they all laughed.
"Oh my god, you two are awful, please leave and don't you dare take my car. Any of them!" Olivia warned, Claudia was an awful driver, she insisted on driving five miles under the speed limit than cursed like a mad woman at anyone that dared pass her, she was the opposite of Olivia when it came to driving.
Claudia rolled her eyes as she headed out. Once she was gone Fitz looked at Olivia,
"So what do you wanna do Livvie, the day is yours."
"I wanna make a blanket fort and fuck you senseless in it!" She said plainly causing Fitz to grow aroused and interested in giving her everything she wanted.
"But since that's out for the next few days at least I want to make a blanket fort and snuggle in it while we all read or watch Parks and Rec."
Not even an hour later Scarlett, Fitz, Cammie, and Olivia were lying in the den on top of pillows taken from all of the guest rooms and under blankets Fitz had hung from the ceiling watching Parks and Recreation and snuggled together.
