Amu and Rima both recoiled in horror. There were so many, even more than the first time.

"What do we do?" Amu exclaimed, her eyes wide.

"We should call Tadase," suggested Kusukusu. "The Guardians will want to know about this!"

"They'll never make it on time," argued Rima even as she pulled out her phone and quickly dialed the King's number. "Hotori, get your ass down to Green Park right now; major X-Egg attack…King, would I joke about something like this? I don't give a shit about your dumb math test. Come or not; the consequences are on you."

She snapped it shut and shot a glance at the pinkette. Before she could say anything, Amu Chara Changed with Ran and began to distract the X-Eggs. She seemed to know what she was doing or was at least familiar with the X-Eggs.

"Odd," murmured Rima, making a mental note to question her classmate later on. She Chara Changed with Kusukusu and did it her best to distract the X-Eggs as well.

This fight wasn't going to be easy, but then again, it never was.

Ami twirled a strand of her mousy brown hair, staring at her math test with confusion clear on her face. She knew she shouldn't have stayed after school to finish it, like so many other students who had run out of time during class.

Finally, the answer became clear and she quickly scribbled it down with a triumphant expression. That expression quickly vanished upon seeing the next problem.

Her forehead met her desk and she grasped at her hair desperately.

"Math is so hard," the poor girl murmured under her breath, trying not draw attention to herself. At least she was trying though; everybody else was just writing random numbers and mouthing profanities.

Marigold had taken one look at the paper and fled the room, saying she would be in the Royal Garden. The other Charas had followed, leaving their bearers to suffer alone.

Suddenly, somebody tapped her arm and she shot up, startled. Ami whipped her head around, looking at Tadase in surprise. He had a serious expression on his face and she understood at once.

Looking back at her paper, Ami quickly went through the rest of the problems, figuring she could retake the test at a later time, and handed it in before she practically sprinted out of the room to go get her guardian character.

A few minutes later, the other Guardians had joined her and they all ran towards Green Park. Rima was the only one missing; she had called earlier and said she had plans afterschool.

"What are we going to do?" Ami exclaimed, hands over her mouth. "I can't even see past all of them!"

Kukai looked around the area worriedly, knowing that his classmates were supposed to meet at the nearby café after school. He saw no sign of them and wasn't sure if he should be relieved or even more worried.

"We'll come up with a plan," assured Tadase, trying to comfort the newest member of his little group.

"Yeah, no way we'll lose to these guys," exclaimed Yaya, smiling brightly at her new friend.

"We will if we do not act quickly," cut in Kairi, glancing at his Chara and nodding. The two of them quickly Chara Changed and the others followed suit.

Yaya and Pepe fought alongside Kairi and Musashi while Tadase and Kiseki helped out Ami and Marigold. Kukai and Daichi were all over the place, trying to help wherever they could. As strong and relentless as they were, it wasn't enough.

"I'm getting tired," wheezed Ami, unused to so much physical labor. Her brightly dressed guardian appeared by her side.

"Come on, Ami, we can do it," she said encouragingly. "We have to finish this or more people's dreams will be destroyed!"

"I know, but…" Ami began, feeling her body grow numb as she fell to her knees. The negative energy was taking a toll on not just her, but the other Guardians as well. They had all been at it for what seemed like hours; the X-Eggs just kept coming and even Yaya was feeling worried about it.

"Ami, look out," shrieked Marigold, her eyes wide as they noticed a large cloud of X-Eggs surrounding the Guardians. They got ready to charge and the Charas all shouted at their bearers, trying to help them up with little success.

The X-Eggs joined together and shot themselves towards the group of students, specifically Ami. All of a sudden, the young girl felt the Humpty Lock get extremely hot under her clothes and she yanked it out in surprise just as the X-Eggs came close to her.

A scream prepared itself to leave her mouth but the X-Eggs suddenly spiraled out of control and fled from the Guardians as a rather familiar voice rang out, "Spiral Heart Rod!"

Ami and the other Guardians looked up in surprise, not expecting to see Rima standing nearby with her hands on her knees. She looked like she had been battling the X-Eggs for a long time as well. But what really shocked the Guardians, particularly the new Joker, was the beautiful teenager with bright pink that caught the heart-shaped weapon that had struck the cloud of X-Eggs.

The thirteen-year-old would have fallen if she was standing.

"A-Amu?" She exclaimed, staring at her older sister in disbelief. By the older girl's side were four guardian characters with hair as vibrant as Amu's.

The pinkette in question quickly ended her Chara Change with Ran and looked at her younger sister with both confusion and relief.

"Ami," she exclaimed happily, glad her sister was alright. She and Rima had been outnumbered greatly until a large amount of X-Eggs suddenly left, leaving the two girls suspicious. Curious, they had followed the eggs until they came upon the nearly defeated Guardians. Seeing her younger sister in the middle had made Amu panic greatly.

"I'm guessing your sister didn't know about this?" Rima remarked, finally standing up straight as she glanced idly over at the pinkette.

"Yo, Hinamori, cool trick," exclaimed Kukai, going over and a slinging his arm around a still stunned Amu's shoulders. "You really saved our asses just now! You, Hinamori Amu, are my hero! Hell, I could kiss you!"

He expected his complex classmate to blush and stammer with a flustered expression, shrugging off his arm as she protested she was no hero. He did not expect the elbow to his ribs and a rather upset face that made him instantly concerned.

Amu curled her hands into fists and repeatedly hit the soccer player in the chest, ignoring his cries and protests. "You! Why didn't you tell me what kind of club my little sister was involved in, huh? I've fought those damn things before and it wasn't fucking easy, and you expected a thirteen-year-old girl with no experience whatsoever to do something like that! What the hell were you thinking?"

"Don't yell at me," sputtered Kukai, managing to grab onto the upset teenage girl's wrists. He grimaced; there were going to bruises on his chest. "It was Tadase's idea to have her join! And why aren't you upset at Rima? She knew too!"

"I can't hit Mashiro," exclaimed Amu, yanking her hands from him. "I already explained that to her earlier, which you would know if you had showed up for our meeting!" He opened his mouth to apologize but she cut him off and spun to face her sister. "And you, what kind of hot mess did you get yourself into? I knew you gave birth to a guardian character recently, but I didn't think it would lead to this! Why didn't you tell me?"

Normally, Hinamori Ami was very calm and rational when it came to arguments-which she ever rarely had to deal with, especially with her sister. However, her energy had been zapped and she was in no mood to be scolded.

"Really?" She exclaimed, disbelief written on her face as she stood up and faced her sister. "You want to talk to me about secrets when you have four guardian characters that you never shared with me? If you knew about Marigold, why didn't you ever say anything to me, huh? And why did I not tell you about all of this? Because it was none of your business, that's why! I'm not obligated to tell you everything about my life!"

"I don't expect you to," shot back Amu. "But when you're thirteen years old and fighting a bunch of negative little demons that have the power to steal and destroy your dreams, I think I have a right to know! We've always been able to talk to each other about anything! Why not this? As for why I didn't tell you about my Charas, you wouldn't have seen them anyways. And when I spotted Marigold and didn't confront you about it, I figured you'd come to me and talk about it in time! Ami, I'm your sister! I'm only trying to protect you!"

The two sisters stared at each other for the longest time, forgetting their current predicament. The Guardians had slowly edged away from the two girls, exchanging worried looks-except for Rima, who looked slightly amused. The X-Eggs still hovered in the air, but seemed to be taken aback by the sudden attack from Amu.

Finally, Amu closed her eyes and sighed.

"Let's talk about it later," she said quietly. "We have bigger fish to fry right now." She held out a hand to her sister, who blinked a few times before she smiled and stood up with the pinkette's help.

"Right," agreed Ami. She turned to the Guardians. "I know I'm a crappy Joker, but we have to try and finish this!" A twinkle formed in her eyes. "And in case you didn't know, this is my older sister, Hinamori Amu!"

"Alright, let's do this," exclaimed Yaya, ready to bounce back and take down the cloud of X-Eggs. "Let's go, Pepe!"

She Chara Changed with her baby guardian and the other Guardians, as well as Amu, did the same. The X-Eggs, realizing they were about to be attacked, quickly went back on the offense.

A blue spade in her pink hair, Amu quickly and easily evaded the negative little demons that flew towards her. She was focused on defeating the X-Eggs but she had an eye on her sister as well. Unsurprisingly, Ami seemed taken aback and didn't know what to do other than dodge the X-Eggs. However, she was trying hard and doing her best, which is all Amu expected from her.

All of a sudden, Amu saw something moving away from the battlefield through the treetops. Curious, she followed the shadow without being noticed by the others. Just as she was about to catch up to them, Ami shrieked and her older sister whipped around in time to see the thirteen-year-old trip and stumble to the ground. Looking back over her shoulder, Amu saw that the mysterious figure had disappeared and went back to help her sister.

Ami groaned as she slammed into the concrete. She had been trying to take off the Humpty Lock, which had been burning under her clothes, but she had tripped and the Lock went flying. Maybe it was a sign that she shouldn't have it.

Not bothering to look for the cursed thing, Ami stood up and brushed her scraped hands, grimacing at the blood.

"Hinamori-san," exclaimed Tadase, having noticed the girl's fall. He ran over to her, a concerned look on his face. "Are you okay?" His ruby red eyes met her golden ones.

"Y-Yeah, fine," stammered Ami, blushing. Wait, why was she blushing? He was only being polite; it didn't mean anything.

"Ugh, get out of here," wailed Yaya, using her giant baby rattle to knock the X-Eggs out of the park like she was a professional baseball player. "Yaya-chan doesn't like these things! They're not cute at all!"

"Good idea, Yaya," exclaimed Kukai. He began to use power kicks on the X-Eggs, sending them flying.

"Interesting strategy," murmured Kairi, slicing at the eggs with his katana until they fled from the scene. "Strange but effective…"

"Just like this group," muttered Rima, chasing away the eggs with an intimidating look. True, she didn't have any special weapon with her Chara Change but she knew how to get rid of annoying pests. And the X-Eggs were certainly annoying.

Tadase and Ami, realizing a fight was still going on, blushed brightly and rejoined the battle. Tadase used his staff to whack the eggs out of the park and Ami chased them away with a blinding sparkle, as odd as it seemed.

Amu switched her Chara Change with Miki to Su and used her whisk to whip away the X-Eggs. Finally, they were none left on the scene.

"Are they gone?" Yaya asked as they ended their Chara Changes.

"For now," replied Tadase, staring up at the sky with an unreadable expression. "We managed to drive them away, but they're still out there; they'll probably be hiding for a bit so we can relax for now."

"Well, that was unnecessary to explain," said Amu, remembering that she was supposed to be wearing her façade. It was slipping far too easily these days. "But, Ami, we need to get going home. It's late and the folks will worry-especially about you."

Ami unconsciously glanced over in the general direction that the Humpty Lock had flown in before she looked at her sister and nodded. "You're right…uh…I think I'll go on ahead for now, okay? I…I need some time to think about…you know." She gestured towards her sister's guardians.

Amu's face softened just a fraction. "Sure thing. I'll catch up with you. I need to have a word with these two anyways." She jabbed her thumb in Kukai and Rima's direction.

The two other teenagers raised their eyebrows but remained behind as the other Guardians scrambled after quickly introducing themselves to the pinkette.

"What's up, Hinamori?" Kukai asked curiously. Rima looked bored as usual, but she kept glancing around like she had somewhere else to be.

Amu took a deep breath. "Look, I could see it on their faces and I can see it on yours. You-or more specifically, that guy Hotori-want me to join your little club and fight these little demons, right?" She was met with silence. "Sorry, but I'm not about that life. I'll help out if I'm around, but that's about it. This isn't my battle since I have no idea what the hell this is all about."

"So why are you telling just us?" Rima asked.

"Because you guys know me better-slightly at least-than those other guys, that's why. I also wanted to ask if you guys would just…watch out for Ami. I know, Rima, that you think she's just a weak link and I'm sorry to say that I could see why today, but she's still just a kid too. Keep her on her toes."

Stunned, Rima merely nodded and Amu turned to Kukai.

"And, you; I know you'd never let anything happen to any of those guys, but please just watch Ami especially. Or at least train her up a bit so she's not as inexperienced as the other Guardians. I don't want my sister to get destroyed by those damn things."

Kukai, taken aback by the emotion in the pinkette's eyes, nodded and squeezed her arm.

"Sure thing, Hinamori," he replied. "I get why you don't want to get involved. Tadase will be disappointed though; any help is welcome." He gave her another affectionate squeeze before he began to walk away. "Oh, and sorry about not making the meeting today. I'll make it up to you, I promise." And then he was gone, leaving just the two girls.

Rima blinked once. "Look, I don't like you and I like your sister less, but I'm not so coldhearted that I can't look out for my own peers once in a while. It's only because you proved you were worth something today that I'll do you this favor, but don't think that I won't ask for one in return one day-if I ever need your help, that is."

Amu gave a small smile. "I don't think you ever will, Mashiro, but thank you." The two icy façade wearers exchanged looks, coming to an understanding, before the blonde parted so her parents could pick her up.

Amu's Charas appeared by her side.

"Do you really want to stay out of something like this?" Ran asked. "I mean…you were never the kind of person to turn down helping someone."

"I'm not directly involved," replied Amu, walking back towards the café. "Like I said, I'll help out, but it's clear that something big is going on. I mean, we've never seen X-Eggs in any other place we've lived so what's going on here? Why are there so many attacks in such a short time?"

"…" Her Charas remained silent.

Suddenly, something caught Dia's eye and she nudged Su. The green guardian looked over to where her sister was staring and noticed something shining in the tall grass.

"Amu-chan, look, desu!" She exclaimed, pointing at it. The pinkette looked over and furrowed her eyebrows in confusion before she shrugged and walked over, figuring it was some shiny coin that had distracted her ditzy Chara.

To her surprise however, Amu found a beautiful white locket that gleamed under the moonlight. It looked dull, however, at the same time. Feeling like it'd be shame to leave it in the grass, Amu reached for it. As she did so, the locket suddenly lit up and warmed in her hand.

A surge of energy flowed through the pinkette and she thought it felt familiar…like…like how it had felt to do that Character Transformation with Ran the other day. The feeling was the same.

"Was it this that caused it?" She murmured, ignoring how right to have the locket with her. She looked at her Charas. "It…it doesn't hurt to take it home, right?"

Her Charas, who felt the unfamiliar but not unpleasant power from the little locket, shook their heads.

"It would seem safer to do that," said Miki. "Who knows what would happen to it out here?"

Amu received agreeing nods from the artistic Chara's sisters so she slipped the locket over her neck, shivering when another ripple ran through her body. There was something odd about the locket, but it didn't seem bad…

As if in a dream, Amu said, "Come on, you guys…Ami must be growing impatient."

The pinkette walked towards where her sister had gone with a dazed expression.

Meanwhile, two pairs of sapphire and topaz eyes watched from the treetops.

Things were getting interesting.

I do not own Shugo Chara!

Sorry about the long wait…once again! Try to update once a month but eh. Stuff happens.

So…wassup? Me? Oh, not much, really…just took my Chemistry standardized test and my AP Comparative Politics exam in the same week. I was supposed to have my Geometry standardized test as well but it was at the same time as the AP exam so I have to take it on the retest day.

Oh, well; how do I fit a whole year's worth of math into the next week and a half? I don't understand Geometry. Anyone know a good website to study it? If so, and I'm begging you, please tell me!

Um, other than school being gross, what else is there?

ANIME.

Season Three of Black Butler is gonna happen evidently, so wicked excited for that. It makes me want to read the manga now; normally I wait until a manga or anime finishes before reading or watching it, but you know…sometimes I can't help myself.

Nisekoi is slowly killing me. It's not an emotional manga/anime (I read/watch both) but it's sort of a harem series (but not sexual) and I just want the protagonist to end up with this one girl and not the others…UGH IT IS SO CLICHÉ AND I HATE CLICHÉ BUT I LOVE THIS SERIES

Season two of Free! is happening this summer too; I need to finish the first season. I got to maybe the second one, I think…Rin is my everything though, for real…

What else?

BOOKS

Do not get me started on the Mortal Instruments; I need to finish the fourth book before City of Heavenly Fire.

BLOOD OF OLYMPUS IS COMING OUT THIS YEAR AND I AM NOT READY

I AM ALSO NOT READY FOR THE FAULT IN OUR STARS MOVIE

Also, I forget if it was this story, but somebody left me a spoiler for the Divergent series. Not that it matters to me since I already knew the ending way before that review, but-and I mean this in the nicest, possible way-you are a total dick for putting spoilers in my story. I'm sorry, maybe I'm overreacting, but that really bothered me. You want to spoil a series? Leave me a PM. If you don't have an account…well, just don't put spoilers, okay? It…it just pisses me off.

*cough* Anyways…I hope you guys liked the chapter. Sorry I didn't really talk about it…also I apologize if you think the story if progressing way too quickly, but…I might have lied when I said this would be similar to canon…

ANYWHO. Please don't be afraid to leave me a review and tell me what you thought of the chapter/story, or if you caught any mistakes!

Until next chapter!
