It is one week after the Battle of the Citadel in which the First Human Spectre, Commander Tyler Shepard, has killed the rogue Spectre Saren in the Council Chambers of the Citadel. As Shepard was battling to defeat the leader of a large Geth Invasion. The brave men and women of the System Alliance Fleet attacked a vastly superior Geth fleet in order to save the lives of Citadel Defense Fleet and the Councilors themselves. They succeeded at great cost. As the holidays near the hearts and prayers here at Alliance News Network go out to the families and friends of those warriors who fell in battle.
And what of the councils reward for the sacrifice of our men and women, our fellow humans who died so hundreds if not thousands of Asari, Salarians, and Turians may live. Nothing! The "Esteemed" Council acknowledged the great courage and actions that Humanity undertook on their behalf and decide to withhold our rightful reward, even a simple message of condolence and gratitude is being spurned.
This reporter calls into to question the leadership of the Alliance Parliament for being weak before the Council self-serving policies. I also call into question the benefits of putting our people at risk and under the so called protection of the Citadel and their fleet.

A new power emerged at the Battle of the Citadel. From a portal in space teeming with purple and red lighting a super-dreadnaught, if that term even applies to this space-faring leviathan. A warship some 18 kilometers covered in weapons, gothic designs, and religious verses in a twisted form of Latin. The ship called the Sword of Asgardia then proceeded to annihilate the Geth invasion, both their ships above the Citadel and their armies on the station itself.
The warship's marine detachment was instrumental according to several survivors in wiping out Geth assault walkers that were firing on innocent civilians trapped in the Presidium. While C-Sec did nothing. The Council vilifies their action, while the survivors of combat zones know exactly who deserves their thanks. The Council should be thanking these unknown humans for saving their lives not calling for their arrest.
The Council is blaming all of the destruction that occurred on this new vessel because its commander is a fellow human. Instead of taking the reasonability of Saren's betrayal and the damaged inflicted to Eden Prime. The Council dismissed Humanities concerns until Shepard brought a voice recording of the traitor.
The Council's response, stripping Saren of his Spectre status and leaving us to fend for ourselves. This Imperium of Man as named by the captain of the Asgardia seems to have the right idea. A strong humanity with the power to take care of any threat.

Protests and demonstrations mark an emergency meeting of the Alliance Parliament and UN today. Several key members of both bodies of government who are adamant supporters of the Citadel are missing and presumed hiding due to fear of public outcry. Votes of No confidence are rumoured to be called. As well as investigations into the weakness of the Alliance Armed Forces in allowing the tragedies to occur. We will publish the outcomes of the Security Council's investigations as soon as the hearings begin.

Breaking News
A message from the Imperium of Man to Citadel affiliated races.
To The Citadel Races,
I, Horus Primarch of the II Legion and Son of the God-Emperor of Man, am leader of the Imperium Secondus. To those humans and xenos chafe under the rule of the weak, of the corrupt, of the heretic, and machine. We will welcome you. You must swear allegiance to He who sits upon the Golden Throne of Holy Terra. You will swear your loyalty in life and death to the Master of Mankind and the Galaxy. Those that do so will be uplifted in His eyes as the chosen. Those who do not will deemed a heretic to His Divine Mission. You will not know when or where the blade will fall but know that the Emperor's Divine Mission, Humanities Mastery of the stars will be made a reality.
To those leaders who rightly call me and my warriors a threat know this, the Lord Solar, our supreme commander beneath me holds xenos lives to be worthless. If I am ever killed your worlds will burn, for as my Father, the Emperor decrees it, "Suffer not the Xenos to live." Know your faith will be worse than a life of service to the Divine Emperor.
As powerful and threatening as the Imperium is, I am giving you a chance to live, a chance to find holy purpose in service. There are other foes that lurk in the dark of space. The Reapers. A race of machines that wiped out the Protheans and countless other races throughout the annals of time. They were discovered by Shepard while he was pursuing Saren. They were behind the attack on Eden Prime, on Feros, in the attempted resurrection of the Rachni, and the Battle for the Citadel.
The reapers don't want slaves or planets. They don't want to be friends or members of the Citadel. They want to exterminate all life in the Galaxy be it man or xeno. The Council will deny this so they can cower and pray that these monster are fake. Your prayers will not be answered. Only faith in the Emperor will grant you salvation. For when the Reapers come to claim you. Those that seek the Emperor's protection, look to the stars for his glorious light will shine and drive back the monsters of the darkness. Leaving only the faithful behind to bask in its glory.
My final message is to the Batarian Hegemony. Your years of hiding behind the weak-willed Council are over. Your thinly veiled attacks on Humanity are over. In the Name of my Father, the God-Emperor of Man, Master of Galaxy. I declare your race, the Batarians, Xenos Maleficent. I now pass judgement on your years of oppressing and targeting the sons of the Emperor, Exterminatus. Your race's days are numbered.
The Emperor Protects.

Also this will be incorporated into the plot for the ME:2 Story line.
I have most of the team set up, except I don't know what to do with Shepard. Leave him dead, replace him, or have him become a partial space marine or don't change him. Can't make up mind.
